The Meadow Cottage is perched on a picturesque knoll in the back of our 300 acre working dairy farm. We are located in between two of Vermont's best ski resorts, Jay Peak and Smuggler Notch. Come for a winter adventure full of downhill skiing, riding or x-country touring. Stay for the local breweries, distilleries, restaurants and antique stores. Or just relax at the farm, watch us milk the cows or cook up some delicious farm raised food for dinner. Well behaved dogs are welcome anytime!
The meadow cottage is full of natural light with great views out every window. Inside there is a comfortable living space with a futon that pulls out for extra guests. The kitchen has a gas stove and a small fridge and is stocked with pots, pans and all the cooking utensils you need to make a delicious meal. The bathroom has a shower, a sink and a composting toilet. There is a steep ladder/stairs that takes you up to the sleeping loft, complete with a comfy queen size bed.
  • Great place for the value. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway this is it!

  • On a cold winter night, nothing felt better than snuggling up with my loved one in this quaint, snug, fairy-tale like cottage on a vast farm with stunning mountain views. The hospitality Melanie showed us was extremely warming and kind! We purchased some of the organic meat and local syrup which was so delectable. We definitely plan on coming back up in the future hopefully to catch the warm weather next time!

  • This cabin is so so so cozy and cute! We really enjoyed our stay and which we could have stayed longer! Added bonus, the host, Melanie, sold us some delicious organic meat! She really went above and beyond to make our stay special; she is even sending me my sweater that I left there. So sweet!

    Kathryn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was in such a beautiful area! We hope to be back in the summer to view it in the summer time! Btw, the cows are super friendly!

  • Expect a perfectly cozy, clean, and private retreat here. I work 50-60 hours a week and interact with people all day everyday, one of my favorite things about this stay was that I got to completely alone and by myself if I wanted. This retreat is ideal for anyone looking to unplug and unwind from the hustle and bustle, and just be with the trees for a few days.

    James2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • I would return to Vermont and stay here again. I loved the scenery and the cabin. Melanie and Tyler responded quickly when I had any questions and it was a perfect ski getaway.

  • Melanie and Tyler’s cottage is a cute and everything you need if want a quiet getaway from the city. They are quick to answer your questions and can accommodate your needs. We recommend staying at their cute cottage. Thanks again

  • When I first realized that St. Albans was 30 minutes north of Burlington, I was worried we wouldn't have access to night life or cafes for breakfast during our long weekend. I was certainly wrong! St. Albans has two breweries, three cafes, and lots of restaurants to try. There's even a speak-easy if you can find it. Dave and Sue's home is located slightly out of town, but they are willing to be your designated driver if you need one for the evening. They aren't kidding when they say you should have an all wheel drive car to reach their home in winter though - my manual civic was able to make it up the first hill, but we had to park at the bottom of their driveway and walk the rest of the way up. If you are undeterred by a steep uphill walk, their view is definitely worth it - Lake Champlain and New York State are both visible, even on hazy days, and the stars are overwhelming on clear nights. When you do want to head into Burlington, they are located near I-89, so you'll be there in no time. I'm definitely looking forward to future visits in other seasons to see what else the area has to offer, and when I do visit the area, I hope I can stay with Dave and Sue again.

    Melissa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancee and I stayed at Dave & Sue's place for a wedding. Though we didn't have the opportunity to meet Sue, our interactions with Dave were very helpful and informative. Their space was very clean and nicely laid out. The view from their property is absolutely breathtaking (the pictures don't do it justice). I would highly recommend that anyone who needs a place to stay in the St. Albans area to check out Dave & Sue's place.

    Dylan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were very comfortable staying at Sue and Dave's place. They took the time to introduce us to the area and the lower level of their home, where we had a pleasant and very clean place to stay and rest. The views are spectacular. I would highly recommend this home and its owners to friends looking for a place to stay in northern Vt.

    Mary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Dave & Sue are amazing hosts only matched by the views they will show you once you arrive. They are extremely warm and welcoming people. Their home is sparkling clean with very comfortable mattresses, a private level of their home for the guests, and a playful little puppy that will always entertain. They offered us beverages, fresh picked Vermont apples or rides into town. They are "all-star superhosts."

    Joseph2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Dave are very nice, friendly, and hospitality. Sue waited outside to welcome us. And she recommended nearby attractions and restaurants. The most wonderful is their house is an incredible scenic view point, especially at sunset. The park nearby is a wonderful site to view Lake Champlain. The rooms are very cozy and the beds are comfortable. We also have a private living room and bedroom to use. We highly recommend their house for a great vacation stay. It could not be better.

  • Dave & Sue's place was a true gem. The view from the home is beautiful. The space is roomy, quiet, private and comfortable. Sue and Dave gave great directions and recommendations for our short time in St Albans. Thanks so much!

    Cait2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dave and Sue are excellent hosts! We shared some great conversations and they were extremely accommodating. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and the views from the deck were absolutely amazing.

The house is tucked into the back of our 300-acre working dairy farm and offers breathtaking views of Mt. Mansfield. We are located in between two of Vermont's best ski resorts, Jay Peak and Smuggler Notch. Come for a winter adventure full of downhill skiing, riding or x-country touring. Stay for the local breweries, distilleries and restaurants. Or just relax at the farm, cozy up by the wood stove and cook up some delicious farm raised food for dinner. Well behaved dogs are welcome anytime!
The house's south-facing exposure adds warmth and sunshine to the entire space. Downstairs there is an open floor plan with a kitchen, a full bathroom with a shower, a cozy wood stove and comfy chairs and couches for curling up and relaxing. The kitchen comes complete with everything you need for cooking a romantic dinner for two or putting a big meal together for friends and family. Two of the bedrooms with gorgeous mountains views are upstairs, along with the clawfoot tub for soaking in after a long day. We recently added a window A/C unit to the master bedroom and have plenty of fans for the rest of the house. The third bedroom is conveniently located downstairs and offers privacy through its double french doors. Off the living room there is a small porch, perfect for sunset views.
Nestled in the Green Mountains, the Hideaway House offers close proximity to amazing, local food as well as a variety of outdoor adventures. In the winter coming for skiing at Jay Peak or Smugglers Notch. In the fall come for foliage or Grouse and Woodcock hunting. In the summer come for the lush, green landscape or swimming in the ponds and fresh mountain streams. In all seasons come to explore the fromageries of Sutton, Quebec or hikes up Mount Mansfield.
  • Stony Pond Farm is a slice of heaven and the Pond House is a perfect getaway for a family or a couple - super clean, cozy, and comfy. Thanks to Melanie and Tyler for an amazing few days in beautiful northern Vermont. Five stars all the way!!

  • Melanie and Tyler’s farm was just amazing. The Airbnb had everything we needed and more for a relaxing and fun getaway. Melanie was quick to respond to any questions I had and also had great recommendations. My husband and I had such a nice time wandering the farm with our two dogs and seeing all their farm animals. Every night we enjoyed watching the sunset from the porch that overlooks the mountains. Very clean and cozy house! We hope to be back someday. :)

    Carolyn2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie and Tyler’s place was the perfect private and cozy getaway, nestled in Vermont’s beautiful mountains. Amazing hospitality and kindness throughout our whole stay!

  • Amazing people, LOVELY farm, STUNNNNNING view, extremely cozy and comfortable space, we WILL be back! Thank you for being such fantastic hosts!!

  • We absolutely loved our stay! It was very thoughtful to offer ski passes and you were so kind. The farm is beautiful and we couldn’t have been more happy. the check in instructions are thorough and well written. The house was super clean and had everything we needed and more. You were so responsive and easy to get in touch with. I loved the little details. Thank you so much for making it memorable.

  • Our mid-January stay at Melanie and Tyler’s Pond House was great. Melanie provided some recommendations on local sights and activities before we arrived and she was very quick to respond to messages throughout our stay. When we arrived there was a thick blanket of snow on the ground but the house was warm and ready for our stay. We definitely recommend an all wheel drive car for winter in Vermont, especially if you plan to take any day trips. The kitchen is well appointed with anything you need to cook a meal, even a large cast iron skillet. The essentials that were stocked in the pantry like oil and salt and pepper also came in handy. We cooked our breakfasts and dinners at the house including bratwursts and bacon that we purchased from Melanie (both were delicious). The house was a cozy retreat after our day trips to Burlington and Stowe and stayed warm even as the temperature dropped below zero. The house was equipped with snow shoes that we tested out and they allowed us to explore the property in the snow. We were also able to wander down and say hi to some of the cows. They were all very curious and took turns coming over to the fence for a closer look. We really enjoyed our winter stay at the Pond House and we’re already thinking about coming back in the warmer months so we can enjoy the pond and see more of the farm.

  • Our stay on the dairy farm was perfect. The view from the cabin is breathtaking, and the farm is lovely to walk around. It was so nice to meet all of the cows and to sit in on an evening's milking. We learned a ton about the farm and about dairy farming in general, as well as how to better differentiate between the kinds of products we'd like to buy in the store (those that support small farms and good farming practices). We also took advantage of the opportunity to eat lots of fresh eggs, drink lots of fresh milk, and eat lots of amazing beef and bacon. The milk is truly out of this world. At home we generally buy non-homogenized, low-temp pasteurized whole milk from a local operation, but the milk at Melanie and Tyler's puts it to shame! The cabin itself is charming and quite spacious, with three bedrooms, two baths, and lots of comfy reading nooks. The upstairs bathroom has a beautiful claw-foot tub, which is so nice to soak in on a cold day. There was a well stocked woodshed, which we used to keep pretty much a constant fire going in the wood-burning stove. Despite the weather getting down to 9 Fahrenheit (-13 C) one day, we were always comfy and cozy inside (note the cabin is well heated even without the stove, but we loved building the fires). I appreciated the selection of bathroom reading material, which included a fairly eclectic selection ranging from People to The New Yorker, as well as all of the material on local attractions and destinations. The cabin does has WiFi, which seemed to work well, but I was not on vacation to use the internet, so I can't say too much about it. We cooked most of our own meals while we were there, and I'm pleased to report that the kitchen is very well stocked. There was a wide variety of cooking equipment, including a really excellent cast iron skillet that I actually considered asking Melanie if I could buy. We used it for daily eggs, a true southern cornbread, and a roast chicken (if you've never roasted a chicken in a cast iron skillet, you should check it out. It's my favorite method). Also much used was the cast iron griddle pan, which we used to cook the fresh bacon we got from Melanie and Tyler. There was also a nice dutch oven / roasting pot, as well as the usual array of cooking utensils and pots and pans. We did an entire Thanksgiving dinner and never felt any lack. There aren't any round baking dishes, so if you're attached to a round pie, you might want to bring one or grab an aluminum one. We just used the square ones for equivalently excellent square pies. Although the farm is isolated (coming from Austin, it was so nice to spend time without the constant roar of passing cars), there's a lot of stuff within an hour or so by car. We were able to get into Stowe for a day to visit some breweries, and took a trip to the Ben & Jerry's factory as well. On top of all of this, Melanie is an absolute joy. We were lucky enough to spend a fair bit of time chatting with her on random afternoons and during the milking we attended. She is an excellent host and incredibly conversant and knowledgeable about all sorts of interesting things. We can't recommend the farm strongly enough, and it will definitely be very high on our list of spots for future vacations!

  • We loved this place. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous and quintessential Vermont. Our hosts were very communicative and answered our questions very quickly. The house is set back so it’s very quiet, and you have stunning views of the mountains and sunset and sunrise views. The interior of the house has gorgeous wooden features and would be a great place for a wedding party to get ready!

I have a cozy, quaint, country chic home that I take great pride in. It's a 7 minute walk to Lake Champlain, the new marina, Bayside Pavillion Restaurant and bar, a fishing pier as well as a local park with farmers markets and running paths. A 5 minute drive brings you to the heart of St. Albans town. Surrounded by another park, breweries, shops and restaurants. I live on a very quiet street. 40 minutes to Jay Peak and Smugglers Notch.
I am very accommodating and want my home to feel like yours. I have full screened in porch, grill, fire pit, garden and fenced in yard. I have a cozy living room with an electric fireplace that gives off a nice ambiance. I have a fully functioning kitchen that I am happy to share! I do live in my home with my two dogs Wesson & Tucker, a boxer mix and a lab that only bark when you come to the door!
I live in a very sweet, safe area down near the lake! I’m located on a quiet residential side street! When you are relaxing in my backyard or screened in porch, you will think you are in you’re own little private world!
  • Tamara is a wonderful host! She truly makes her home feel like yours while you are her guest. Her home is beautiful and the bedroom for Airbnb is very nice with a comfortable bed. She added many thoughtful touches to the space as well, such as snacks and toiletries. If I am ever in the area in the future I would absolutely stay here again!

  • Very homey and welcoming. Price was great. Great place for relaxation and solitude. Close to everything.

    Melissa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the best place I'm gone since I use RB&B (few years)... The place is great, clean, comfortable and Tamara had so many way to make us at ease... Thanks a lot for every things... Tamara, Wesson and Tucker 💕

    Catherine2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I don't know where to begin with my praise for Tamara's outstanding hospitality, her attentiveness and eye for detail! Having been her first guest, I for sure was treated like a princess! In fact, the room is so cozy and just perfect for one person. I could even get some work done at the desk by the window (I just loooove the view!). The skylight added to the snugness, especially when it rained or hailed. There are even little snacks and toiletries provided for free. Everything was easy, practical and clean: sharing one bathroom, cooking in the oh-so-well-equipped kitchen or chilling in the spacious living room. A perfect place for dog lovers as Wesson and Tucker love to be around people and indeed want to be petted all day long! :)

Camping site on lake Champlain. Site includes a Tiny House for sleeping with a small building with toilet and sink and lake water. We have a futon for sleeping, however we do not supply the bedding. This is a large private lot with full access to Lake Champlain and is also located on the Vermont bike route.
The camp site has a Tiny House for sleeping and is located right on Lake Champlain. It has a futon and a rollaway bed for sleeping. Because we supply the Tiny House for sleeping for only two guest we no longer allow campers or tents on the property as they kill the grass. However we do allow parents with one child as long as the child sleeps in the building with parents.
The camping site is located on Lake Champlain approximately 35 miles north of Burlington Vermont.
  • This little camp has all the charm and location shown in its write up. Although my travel plans changed several times during the week, my host was kind, patient, and responsive!! I will be sure to make plans to stay here in the future. Great location, close to UVM, close to Montreal, close to nature!! Thanks, Cindy!

    Sharon2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so great, we adored the cabin and location!!

    James2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! The other reviews already describe the property pretty well. Definitely a memorable stay!

    Dominique2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin right on the lake with a spacious deck that's ideal for sunbathing and admiring the beautiful views. The fire pit is a bonus as well. This is a great place for those looking to get away and enjoy time in nature, while at the same time being a short drive from local attractions and shops in St. Albans. Cindy and Phil are gracious hosts and attentive hosts. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back!

    Monica2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great little get away! It is right on the water and has beautiful sunsets! We were greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement on the front porch and a paper listing everything going on in the area. There are also brochures for various activities in the local area as well as playing cards and tic tac toe. There are a couple picnic tables and some chairs to sit on the deck and take in the amazing view. There is a bathroom with a flush toilet and running water set a bit back from the cabin. Top everything off with a rip roaring fire at night and this place is the perfect mixture of roughing it and a home away from home! Cindy and her husband were very welcoming and sweet. They stopped by to check in on us the first and second night and we talked for quite a bit! They are very kind and understanding. For things to do....St. Albans is a cute little town about 15 minutes away - we recommend Mimmo’s if you like Italian. Burlington is about 30 minutes away and has a bunch of great breweries/distilleries/cideries. This place is far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close to the necessities if you need to make a pit stop!

    Jennifer2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was perfect for me! It is very simple, but has everything you need. The deck is unbeatable and the sunsets amazing! Cindy and Phil responded right away when I had questions. I will definitely be back!

    Melissa2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable hut, ideal for folks used to tent or RV camping. Cindy and Phil are hard-working, warm people, and it's amazing for us city people how much of the property Phil has built with his own hands. Land has been in Cindy's family for some generations and the host's connection makes this stretch of beach even more special

    Natalie2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was great. Cindy and Phil were friendly and made sure we had what we needed. The tiny structure was great for sleeping. The views were great and we enjoyed swimming in the lake. It isn't far to get to several destinations in Vermont from here.

  • Connie's place was just lovely! We went in the middle of February - a cold month for sure. However, the cold was not a problem as the house was super warm :) Upon arriving, Connie had left us a platter of grapes, cheese and crackers which I have to say was a very sweet touch and came in handy as we had be on the road all day. Wifi was provided and there is a laundry room on the ground floor which was super convenient. There is a parking lot available and plenty of food places nearby, not to mention Connie's place came with a bunch of pamphlets filled with suggestions for restaurants and other amenities. All in all, we had a great stay and are actually thinking of returning for the summer!

    Maria2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Connie’s place was fantastic! I just moved from Ohio and needed a temporary place to stay until I found an apartment. I couldn’t have asked for a better place. Connie is amazing, and was there anytime I needed to reach out. I stayed a little over a month and if it was closer to work I would’ve stayed longer. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone!

  • Clean, quaint and all the amenities of a hotel without all the hub bub. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. We had the yellow room with a deck to the pretty back yard. The hosts were just the right amount friendly and respectful. And believe it or not so were the animals. We may come back every year for a peaceful beautiful anniversary.

A special little retreat. 12 minutes to Smugglers Notch. 25 min to Stowe. Off grid. 222 square foot Cozy little log cabin, wood stove, composting toilet, on demand (small in size )hot water shower, solar electricity. Full kitchen with refrigerator. The cabin is private with parking . Everything about this special place is small but it's very homey and has everything you need . Verizon cellular works perfect with full 4g LTE.
Log cabin tiny house. Homey , Airbnb has made it so that guests can cancel at anytime. I would prefer a little notice if possible but I understand as well. I do hope that you come. The cabin is a good place for people to get away. My plan to keep the cabin a safe place for people and to ease peoples concerns is that I will be bleach wiping surfaces . I would prefer if Guests brought their own bedding and towels at this time. The beds are full and a single. Also I will have a min 48 hours between reservations. I hope this helps.
Awesome little ski town 12 minute drive to Amazing skiing at Smugglers Notch ski area. The cabin is just 4 miles to great restaurants, grocery story, galleries, canoe/kayak rentals, 30 mile bike trail, horseback trail rides, distilleries, and Wineries , day spa covered bridges and more. In the summer time is 23 minutes to Stowe over the historic mountain pass called Smugglers Notch. 50 minutes to Burlington. 32 minute to jay peak
  • The little cabin was great! PK was a great host. With everything that is happening in our world he made extra effort to make us feel safe and comfortable. Would totally recommend staying!

  • This place was just what we were looking for. It was great to experience the off-grid type living in a tiny cabin! Pk was a great host and he was there to give us instructions about the cabin when we arrived. We had no problems and slept like logs with the running stream just behind us. Very private I would recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience!

  • We had a great stay at the cabin. Came up for a weekend in the winter which was beautiful. It has a good location for accessing Mount Mansfield, Smuggler's Notch, and town is close for meals out. Pk was helpful at check-in with the details of the cabin and local spots to check out. It's a simple, beautiful cabin!

  • Marla and Mitch were incredible, hospitable hosts! They're property is gorgeous, close to activities, and not to mention full of cool animals! Their kindness and generosity made our stay one to remember, and I would without a doubt recommend staying with them to anyone.

    Nate2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! The experience of a pop up trailer without the work of popping up or towing ! The kids had so much fun hanging with Scotch and the other animals, there’s even a peacock! We all swam in the inground pool every day. The kids jumped off the diving board at least 100 times during our stay. The trailer was clean and more than big enough for the 2 adults 2kids and our dog ( we even got ready for a wedding!)Weather wasn’t always perfect as we experienced heavy rain/hail thunderstorms and the trailer held up well. Marla and Mitch were very accommodating with great communication before the during stay. Even got a short tour of the farm. If your lucky enough to stay at this camp I highly recommended it.

    David2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Marla and Mitch are great hosts. They are very kind and very accomodating. We loved the place and the kids were thrilled to see all the animals and to explore the surroundings. We are looking forward to repeat this experience in the future. We highly recommend this farm to everybody.

    Francisco2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming !!! Well located and absolute tranquility !!

    Audrey2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Marla and Mitch are great! They were very thoughtful and kind. It was a unique and wonderful experience. We will stay in this place again next time when we are in Vermont.

    Lee2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Marla and Mitch were fantastic hosts. There was fast communication before arrival and they were very helpful upon arrival. The camper was spotless and placed in a beautiful meadow in a very private spot. Marla had so many special touches that were greatly appreciated. A s'mores basket, 1st aid kit, bug spray, cooking and bbq items, chairs, water and more. She really has put a lot of effort to make the camping trip comfortable. Thank you Mitch for taking time to show my kids around the farm. The pool is crystal clear and a pleasant temperature. When strong thunderstorms came through, they offered refuge in their house. Such genuine and caring people. St Albans is a few minutes away with great breakfast, a Farmer's market and nice shops. To sum it up, Marla and Mitch's farm is a lovely place to camp.

1 bedroom in-law apt located above garage with private and separate entrance, close to St. Albans, and situated between Jay Peak and Smuggler's Notch ski resorts. Queen futon in living area for additional guests, well-equipped kitchen, and full bath. Wi-Fi available.
  • We stayed over the holidays and absolutely loved the space. Katie and Ian are wonderful hosts, the apartment was spotless and the kitchen was well stocked. Check-in and -out was super easy. Their dog is a friendly ball of fun that had us laughing and was great with our dog! The sunrises in the morning were breathtaking. Couldn’t recommend this space enough!!!

    Dustin2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I moved to Vermont from Maine and stayed with Katie and Ian for a whole month! They were great hosts and we never felt to be in their way, or vice versa. We started jobs in Burlington while living with them, and commuted 5 days a week. They never had a problem with our schedules as their apartment is above the garage and out of the way. They also let us bring our dog Lulu whom fell in love with their year and a half old boxer/lab mix, Marley. We would definitely go back there given the chance!

    Nicholas2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Katie and Ian’s! The apartment is clean and comfortable. They were very responsive to our messages and helpful. Great trip!

    Ada2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is spacious, exceptionally quiet, nicely appointed, and has everything needed to make your stay comfortable and cozy, and the views are outstanding. Highly recommended.

    Mark2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Ian's home was great for us. First, it was very clean and had a large kitchen for cooking. It is a very comfortable space for 2 people. It is situated out in the country on a dirt road for a few miles, which is fine by us, but may not be for everyone as the nearest town is either 15 or 20 minutes away. Otherwise, I would highly recommend for using as a base to explore the area.

    Richard2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clean & private apartment with everything you need for a home away from home! Hosts were very accommodating. Location is about 15 mins to St Albans and just over 35 mins to Burlington - exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful property with even more beautiful views! Will certainly stay again

Out in the country! 8 minutes to Smugglers Notch! Perfect for leaf peepers, hikers, skiers and snow boarders. This apartment can sleep up to 4 people with a comfortable bed and a pull-out sofa. The kitchenette includes a microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot and refrigerator.
  • Great location close to Smuggler’s Notch and Autumn was quick to respond to any questions.

  • Comfortable space just 10 minutes from Smugglers Notch! The perfect spot for a weekend ski trip. The apartment was cozy, easy to find, and very easy to check in to. We would definitely come back again

    Mika2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Autumn's place was perfect for myself and 3 siblings to stay overnight for a Smugglers Notch ski day. Just big enough for 4 people. Not a full kitchen so don't plan on bringing food to cook, but it's a great place to crash for the night before hitting the slopes the next day. Would for sure stay again if i was up in the area again!

    Elyse2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

    Christina2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Homie, cozy, just what we needed for our MLK weekend snowboarding/ski trip to Smuggs. Our hosts were very welcoming and extremely helpful! The place was just what we needed at a great per night rate. We were only there to sleep, and freshen up since we spent the rest of the time on the mountain so it not having a full kitchen was not an issue. And it being a close drive to Smugglers Notch was a plus plus. Will definitely think about coming back here for another Smugglers Notch trip.

    William2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Autumn's space is awesome! As noted by the other reviewers, the apartment is clean and has all the amenities one could need. Furthermore, the location is idyllic. Autumn is a responsive and kind host. I would highly recommend staying at her place and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Comfortable and cozy, one bedroom apartment conveniently located in the residential district of historic downtown St. Albans City. Walking distance to downtown shopping, restaurants and businesses. Off-street parking is available. Public bus transportation picks up just down the street. Perfect for travelers in town on business or events.
Within walking distance to downtown St. Albans City. Main Street offers local retail shops, art galleries, restaurants, farmer’s market on Saturday mornings throughout the summer. Very close to the train station as well for those coming in via train.
  • The greatest place to be in St Albans very close to everything that you would love to see and do. Highly recommended

    Paul2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time in St. Albans. Driving all the way from New Jersey, I was so pleased and happy when I arrived to Lisa's home. It was so clean and cozy and offered me exactly what I needed after a long drive. I would check her guide book for food and other suggestions because that's where I found out about Twiggs Gastropub, where I had a great meal. I highly recommend Lisa's studio, and I would def come back again.

  • Great location walking distance to downtown. Probably the best stocked kitchen I have seen in a air b&b! Hosts even had the place decorated nice for the Christmas holidays.... saw one post with a lady saying the entrance was hard because she was a senior, there is 2 exits and the emergency exit is the harder one, not the normal one. Thanks for our stay

The Inn at Buck Hollow Farm is an award winning, 27 year old, fully licensed, 4 room inn. We offer a “Vermont Experience” rather than simply a room. Yet 3 of our 4 rooms are only $ 110/night plus tax INCLUDING FULL BREAKFAST (which guests rave about). Also listed are the blue, yellow and foliage rooms. AAA (three diamonds). Vermont Meals and Rooms Tax license # MRT-10126712. NOTE, we do not add a service charge or cleaning fee.
Named the Presidential suite in honor of the two Presidents born in Vermont (can you name them ?). The suite is decorated with antiques and memorabilia of those and other presidential candidates. A sliding door leading to a new private deck adjacent to the perennial garden and expansive lawn with a view of the pool area. Very convenient for our guests with pets.
We are a "country inn in the country" , so a vehicle is a must.
  • The place was great. Extremely friendly hosts, who made us feel very welcome. Went for a dip in the pool during the day, and it was clean, well kept and tons of fun. Will definitely visit again when we pass through the area next.

  • This was our first B&B experience and I have to say we are hooked. We felt right at home as if we were just staying over at a relative's house. There was a fantastic choice of snacks and beverages that we could pick from (very useful for the kids' late night cravings). The breakfast was very tasty and the kids enjoyed seeing the owners' dogs. The view was spectacular, we'll have to come back and see it during the summer! Thank you

  • If you are looking for a great Air B&B experience, Jacquie's place is there place for you. The quiet location, beautiful views, the food and the hospitality can't be beat. The maple syrup served on the maple and oatmeal pancakes was made by Jacquie and her husband from their own trees. This full breakfast included juice made by them and a choice of meats to go with the pancakes. We enjoyed spending time visiting with the other guests in the large common space warmed by a fire in the gas fireplace. We had a wonderful time!

The house, with its' beautiful garden, is within walking distance to charming downtown St. Albans where you can browse an eclectic mix of shops, sip coffee at a cafe or enjoy alfresco dining, and live music, at one of several restaurants. Rain forecast ? Catch a movie at The Welden theater. Bicyclers will enjoy riding the 26ml rail trail and boaters and kayakers can spend all day on beautiful Lake Champlain, a 5min drive. Come and enjoy the area you won't be disappointed.
Although the house is situated in a residential area, it offers great privacy and has a secluded back garden. Sit on the swing and watch the sunset while listening to the gurgle of the ponds and little waterfall. Take a glass of wine or cup of coffee and stroll the garden, or visit the stream at the bottom of the garden. On cool evenings light up the patio heater or sit by the gas fire pit in the back yard.
The house is situated in a residential neighborhood in the city of Saint Albans Vt, which has recently undergone an extensive downtown renovation.
  • Sheila and Bob’s home is a tranquil paradise in the small historic town of St. Albans, VT. This property is a great place to get away and relax. The house is very comfortable and the gardens are spectacular! You don’t need to leave the property to experience the beauty of summer in Vermont. Bob and Sheila are great hosts and my wife and I are already planning our trip back here for next summer! Thanks Sheila and Bob for your hospitality!

    Larry2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This property has a gorgeous yard that is loved and well cared for. Numerous water features very relaxing. Friendly, good restaurants. I highly recommend this rental.

    Jo2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t believe Sheila’s garden. It’s an inspiration and it is, most definitely, an “oasis” that the title of the property promises. We are second timers, and found, once again, Bob and Sheila amazing hosts. We just love Saint Albans. The photos of everything are terrific, so you can have a good idea of the space and all that it promises. (Except to say that no photos do the garden justice!) Bob is a spectacular communicator. Check in is excellent. The property is spic-n-span. We loved being “plug and play” the second time around. Maybe it suffices to say we would be happy-so happy—to return to Bob and Sheila’s. They make airbnbing worth it! THANK YOU!

    Ellen2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, welcoming, clean & greatly decorated place, loved it & would definitely stay there again! Thx, Sheila & Bob, great host!

    Susan2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila and Bob's place is fantastic. It has a stunning garden with fountains and flowers and multiple places to sit and eat and enjoy the outdoors. The interior is stylish and comfortable and they are walking distance from the shops on Main Street and the Saturday morning farmers market.

  • What an amazing place! Beautiful backyard, seems like your in your own world here. Then you walk out and your walking distance to a great little downtown area, or a quick car ride to Burlington. Such a large house, got a lot more out of the house then I was expecting. Thank you for the amazing place, we will be back.

    Christopher2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This house was warm and cozy, was filled with everything you could need, and had charming personal touches throughout so you almost feel like you know the hosts. The garden was gorgeous in person and the house is perfect for a couple. The bed was really soft and the water pressure in the shower was great. I went in summer and the air conditioning units worked very well, WiFi also worked well. There are 3 deer heads on the wall on the second floor which we named Moe, Larry, & Curly. The house has a lot of character and neighborhood was nice; it's only half hour or so to Burlington. Sheila and Bob answered quickly to questions and suggestions. Great stay in Vermont!

    Lucia2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house has everything you need and is extremely confortable and welcoming but the best thing for me was the garden. It is beautifully restful with lovely areas to sit with a drink and watch the birds. Also a patio, a barbecue, a fire pit, and even a stream to watch. Bliss!

  • The Inn is beautiful, on a scenic farm. The room was cozy, clean, and well-maintained. Jacquie's french toast and juice blend were delicious. The common room is full of light and welcoming. We very much enjoyed our stay here and felt right at home.

  • The inn was exactly as advertised--beautiful rooms in a rural inn with a stunning view of the adjacent farm. The bed was extremely comfortable and the inn well maintained. The breakfasts were delicious, and the staff could not have been more welcoming to me AND my dog. I was only sorry I did not have more time to enjoy the porches and the pool.

  • Jacquie and Brad’s inn was a great bed-and-breakfast style place, secluded in what was a very snowy Vermont during our stay. The room was comfy, and the bathroom was really nice. Complimentary breakfast was delicious in the morning, and with a great view. The hot tub and fireplace kept us warm over delicious maple ice cream from the freezer. Brad was especially helpful with us driving in and out of the snow without four-wheel drive. We had a great time here!

  • A beautiful home in a great location. Just a few min out of Smuggs. Holly was a wonderful host and communication was great.

  • Great hospitality, new friends made!

  • Lovely house! Holly and Zach are a very nice couple and made us feel like home. We actually went skiing to Stowe, and as our trip was kind of last minute, everything around the mountain was sold out. This place is about 50 mins away from the resort in the winter as some roads are closed, and we didn’t regret booking it.

This Fairfax studio apartment in 13 miles from Smugglers Notch, a perfect stay for anyone wanting to hit the slopes. The view from the back deck looks past a quintessential Vermont farm over to Mount Mansfield. This space is above our detached garage and is only accessible by stairs. The space offers a kitchenette and amenities to cook limited meals. There is a small clothing rack to hang garments. Unfortunately there is not WiF but, there is a hotspot connection for Comcast customers.
  • Beautiful space! Close to Smuggs and the winery. Great location!

  • We loved our stay. Anastasia was quick to respond to all messages and allowed us to check in earlier than we had originally planned. The space was clean and exactly how it was described and shown in pictures. We would definitely stay there again!

  • Very cozy and clean space, with a great view.

    Natalie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Anastasia's house! We stayed to ski at Smugglers Notch which is only 20 minutes away from her home. The rental space was great and had an incredible view of mt Mansfield and Smugglers Notch. Plenty of room for 3 people. The place was very warm, clean, and well kept. The accommodations were great and we were pleasantly surprised that there was a oven/ stove. We look very forward to staying there again!

  • Anastasia's place was wonderful!! The location is perfect close to Burlington and also to Smugglers Notch for skiing! Anastasia even got me a cake for my birthday, so thoughtful!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The only thing I didn’t realise was the proximity to quite a busy road, didn’t take away from the lovely view though.

Rustic stay in a beautifully handcrafted skoolie (school bus) with a woodstove! The bus sits on 7 acres at the end of a private dirt road shared with a log home, a handcrafted garage, laying hens, a rooster, dogs, cats. Kali and Matt share their lot with like-minded active individuals. The bus has it's own carved out spot complete with a fire pit and easy access to your car. #MagdalenatheSkoolie There are 3 ski resorts, biking, hiking and endless local breweries under an hour away.
Complete with a composting toilet, electricity and deep well drinking water. The bus has a super comfy queen bed with a lovely comforter, plus two sleepable couches (one is about 5ft long and the other 6ft). Electric hot plates and toaster oven for cooking, plus a mini-fridge for your grub. We also will keep you stocked and warm with local coffee! Please note that there will not be running water to this site during the colder months. Access to a beautiful hot water outdoor shower in the warmer months. (Approximate colder months: October-May). We use all natural and organic cleaning products! Vermont Meals and Rooms Tax ID number is MRT-10126712
Private dead-end road, close to town (just over a mile). There are other houses at the end of the road. In the winter you can use the VAST trail for walking and cross country skiing or snowmobiling. We have a sweet with homestead with chickens, multiple gardens and we often host WWOOFERS. We also rent out an apartment above our garage to long-term tenants.
  • A wonderful place to stay! We completely enjoyed every part of our stay. It is such a cool and unique place to get away!

    Garrett2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time staying in the bus! With temperatures in the single digits and even below zero it was tough to stay outside for too long but we were able to keep the bus comfortable with the woodstove and propane heater. One thing to know is that the driveway is very steep so if you do not have all wheel drive or snow tires it is likely that you will get stuck and need to walk about 1/3 mile up hill. We did it and it wasn’t bad but that is definitely something to be wary of especially if you’re arriving later in the day and just want to get settled in. Matt and Kali are very nice and are quick to respond to messages!

    Michael2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This space is a treasure. A wonderful escape to share with humans that you adore. Thanks for opening your wonderful skoolie doors!

    Virginia2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kali's bus is a cool place to stay when in the area. We stayed during the winter. It was especially cold outside, but the wood stove kept it warm enough inside. It does take some time for it to get up to comfortable temperature inside if you are away for the day. All in all a neat experience that we will remember for some time.

    Todd2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay at a beautiful place. It was warm and cozy and the hosts were quick to respond to questions. A getaway to Magdalena the Skoolie is a must!

    Audrey2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is not only a superbly amazing place but, the people who run it are outstanding. We were in a car accident while on our trip there and they were on a vacation out of the country and still were in contact with us. Providing help along the way. I highly recommend this absolutely adorable place. There is nothing like it out there, that I have seen. Note: if you come in the winter.. make sure you got AWD and good tires.. seriously 🤣

    Schaeffer2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t be happier with our stay!

    Marino2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Magdalena was a pure delight! I try to sneak away post-holidays, and it has everything I needed: wood burning stove, lovely little kitchen and trails nearby! Plus, a fabulous place to read. Would recommend!

  • This was our second time staying at Courtney's AirBnB apartment, and it was just as fantastic as the first. We are so pleased with the space and our experience that we have started to view this unit as our home-away-from-home. We bring our 2 dogs with us when we travel and Courtney makes us feel so welcome. We highly recommend this unit and also Courtney as a wonderful host. Cheers!

    Jillian2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • There's a reason Courtney is a superhost; her apartment had everything and did not disappoint. This was a perfect place for my fiance and I to stay for a weekend getaway from the city. Courtney's place is a short walk from a nice quaint downtown area where we visited great restaurants and a town farmers market to an awesome brewery in just the other direction. We thought we would visit Burlington more but found exploring St. Albans to be just what we needed.

    Frank2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I needed a place to stay over the weekend to visit family in Vermont. We needed something pet friendly and when we searched Air BnB, Courtney's host reviews were fantastic so we decided to book her unit. The apartment was wonderful, and well stocked with everything that we might need. Her instructions for the space were clear and easy to abide by. We met her during the course of our stay and she recommended a couple of places to eat and get coffee in St. Albans and both turned out to be great suggestions! We are so happy that we stayed there and we will definitely be booking this space again. Thanks Courtney! :)

    Jillian2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Love Courtney’s place! My pups love this place and it is in a perfect location. Love this place!

    Michele2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We just moved to St. Albans from NM earlier this year and had the good fortune of being able to stay at Courtney's place while we made our transitions here. Courtney was always very kind and accommodating and provided some valuable tips to help us get to know the area. We always felt like we were coming home during our stay, our little dog was welcomed and enjoyed her time here as well. The property is very well located within walking distance of downtown, I enjoyed taking my dog for walks around the neighborhood and taking in my new hometown. The unit was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed during our nearly three month stay. If you're coming to St. Albans, book with this place! I'm so glad I did.

  • If you you looking for an outstanding customer service, and a cozy and warm space to relax, for short or long time...that is the place to stay! Easy access to restaurants and shopping, with an amazing and caring host. She care in leave an gift card to a coffee shopping that welcome dog! Which shows that she thought of all her guests as the same importance, since we had our furry baby with 4 legs with us ;) ! If you look for hospitality, you are looking for this place!

  • The area is absolutely beautiful. House was clean, communication was quick and easy. They have bird feeders on the front porch and it was amazing watching the different birds in the morning from the window while we sat and ate breakfast. Love how secluded the house is!! Everything was thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again.

  • We had a great time at Robin's place!! Spent a weekend there in February, enjoyed cross-country skiing in the area and relaxing at the house afterwards. Robin communicated promptly and very clearly throughout, and left us information about x-country /snowshoeing tracks, some of which start right on the property. The house was sparkling clean, snow was plowed when we got in (despite a snow storm that day!), having a garage was super handy. The house is cute, beds super comfy, kitchen has all the essentials, there's a fun room with a pooltable downstairs, and... a whirlpool outside, great plus. We liked it a lot, hoping to be back sometime!

    Lorenzo2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay Robins place! House was awesome and cozy and the hosts were very nice and responded quickly. Would highly recommend this hidden gem and will be back again!

  • WOW!! Is all we have to say about our stay. If your planning on going sking at one of the more northern mt or just a weekend get away. This Is the spot!! Robbin could not have been a better host. Will be returning soon!! Thanks again Robbin

    Sean2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! My partner and I wanted a blissfully quiet relaxing winter couples retreat deep in the woods and that’s exactly what we got. The house was spotless, the amenities were great, Robin was so responsive, the location was beautiful; we’re definitely coming back and recommending it! If you are coming in the winter definitely keep an eye on the weather. We never needed to worry though! Robin was so communicative and made sure the snow plowing happened promptly. We ended up being happy that we brought extra food because it was nice to not have to leave the house during the snow but honestly we probably could have if we wanted to.

Looking for a big place to enjoy with your friends and family? Our place has 2,000 sf, four bedrooms, 1.5 baths... and is on Lake Champlain... Beds for 10 people but plenty of space for more...
Great, large rustic cabin (all but boat/sun room built in 1910) includes fieldstone fireplace, large sun room on the water, plenty of land for privacy, great fishing and sunsets. For Summer the rental also includes the use of watercraft - rowboat, canoe, three kayaks, paddle board, boogie boards... more rocky than sandy so we also have an assortment of water shoes for those who would prefer to use them. Heated with hot air propane furnace (or fieldstone fireplace :0)). Great place to relax, have fun or both! First floor is all on one level making it easy access for those who have trouble walking (but fairly narrow doorways make moving in a wheelchair challenging). Not even one step up to enter. Waterline would require stairs down or a ginger walk down the boat ramp. Upstairs is a converted attic with drop down stairs and has two bedrooms (no doors on rooms) with new flooring and a total of three beds per room. Queen and double bedrooms are on first floor. While it is a rustic cabin (not a sparkling fancy condo by any means) with some uneven floors and other imperfections, it's a great place that has been remodeled a good bit with new windows, new flooring in some rooms, some new ceilings, updated furniture, updated bathroom, paint, new roof, etc. And being an older place near water a bug or two is possible so if you’re very anti bug this may not be the place for you. Water inside the cabin is from a well not the lake. We do have a gas grill and available charcoal grill for your use. Fire pits/seating area and older concrete patio outside but no deck. On a dirt road wide enough for one car with cow/horse pasture across the street. To answer a common question... Water levels and swimmability (is that a word?) vary. May and June the water is normally high (no beach). Great for putting in smaller boats via the ramp (ramp is too steep for largers boats but convenient launch just down the bay) - nice but cold water. Late June the water starts to warm up and swimming is great. July is normally ideal - usually still not much of a beach but warmer water. Beginning of August is also normally good but towards the end of August water levels will drop making it more difficult to put a boat in using the ramp (marina with access down the street) exposing a rocky beach, and by the end of August and into September weeds are usally present which would require putting on life jackets and going into deeper water to avoid them. If you want to bring your dog that should be fine but a heads up and prior behavioral approval required. No more than two dogs per stay and no pets allowed on the furniture. About 30 minutes to Burlington, 90 minutes from Montreal, close to lots of Vermont parks (including Burton Island just a row or paddle away) as well as 15 minutes from St Albans shopping. Assuming you've made it through all this verbiage, extended stay discounts and adjustments to check in dates/times possible; feel free to inquire. And rate shown is for Summer. If you're looking for Spring or Fall rates please inquire.
Why would you love staying here? The lake... the view... the sunsets! For a place on popular Lake Champlain it's also very quiet. Across the street is a cow pasture for a nice view while drinking morning coffee....
  • Sean is very friendly and he communicates quickly! The view of the lake is wonderful

    Karine2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a wonderful stay here. The weather was a bit cold most of the our stay so we were very grateful for the indoor fireplace to sip tea next to. The view was my favorite part, the sunsets were incredible. This was a perfect place to have a wholesome weekend with friends.

    Maya2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sean and Maria's place. The view is incredible and it is very quiet and peaceful. There was plenty of cookware, clean sheets, and more than enough towels. A great value to get away in the mountains for a while. Sean was a great communicator through the entire air bnb process and is a highly recommended host. Thanks again!

    Ryan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z

  • Thank you Sean! Wonderful place and great hosts.

    Dinara2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect the house to be as advertised. It's a great place to stay for an extended weekend (or even a week). There are plenty of water-related amenities including a canoe and a couple of kayaks. The weather changes pretty quickly and aggressively so you should be prepared for that. Two fire pits — one closer to the house and one closer to the lakeshore. The lake is pretty rocky so take advantage of the swim footwear that Sean makes available. Also, be careful on the stairs leading up the attic. They're getting up there in years so they can be a little rickety. The neighboring sunflower field and grazing cows were a nice surprise, as were the friendly human neighbors. It's a quiet little road but everyone keeps to themselves for the most part. Overall, my nine friends and I stayed there comfortably and enjoyed every second of our stay. We all would greatly consider returning.

    Dan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect lakeside retreat! My family and I had a wonderful time during our vacation in August. The views from the cabin are beautiful! We enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, playing games in the sunroom and hanging out by the fire. The sunsets were amazing! Sean was very responsive and had great suggestions for things to do locally. Overall great stay!

    Sandra2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very enjoyable stay! Great place to spend with friends and family. The place is right on the lake which gives you a very nice view to wake up to. We really enjoyed the playroom which has a pingpong table and some boardgames which is pretty cool. And the condiments and kitchen equipments are pretty complete. I would recommend the place. :)

  • Edmund was a great host. He spent time hanging out with us, giving tips as to what to do in the area. He offered us food and coffee in the morning, let us use his home for showers, and gave us for a tour of his beautiful property. The location is beautiful, a bit out in the middle of nowhere, but just perfect for hikers. The cabins are very nice, clean and neat. No heating in the small cabins, so be prepared. However, Edmund did bring us extra blankets! The beds in the photo are inflatable, which was a bit unexpected. However, the entire experience was very nice.

  • Great experience! Edmund is an awesome guy and he’s super helpful.

  • Edmund was an amazing host and the cabin n was beautiful and private.

  • Ed is a very thoughtful host and made my time there so much fun. My favorite part of the stay was touring the farm itself and having smoothies made with berries grown on the property. There are also swimming holes and hikes really close by for nature lovers.

In summer, swim and fish in a tiny but beautiful lake in one of the most scenic parts of Vermont. In winter, guests world-class skiing at Smugglers Notch is only a 13-mile drive from the cottage. Any time of year, this is a great retreat, with an outdoor hot tub (maintained year-round), large yard, and many other amenities, including a wood-burning fireplace, use of the canoe, rowboat, and kayak. Pets are welcome as long as you take full responsibility for them.
This is a unique house-sized cottage in one of the most scenic parts of Vermont--on Metcalf Pond near Smugglers Notch, regarded by many as the best ski area in the East both for families and experts alike. Rustic decor but with the comforts of home, including full kitchen and laundry facilities, enclosed porch with wood-burning fireplace, large yard, outdoor hot tub, use of a rowboat, canoe, and kayak. In winter, it's a 13-mile drive to the entrance to Smugglers Notch and world-class skiing. In exchange for that short drive, you get a terrific place to stay, at a small fraction of what you'd pay right at the slopes. Note: We work hard to make sure that the house is neat and clean and all features are in good repair. But we do not have a big cleaning crew, and sometimes have only a few hours between guest visits, so we can't guarantee that you will never find dust on top of a picture frame. But if you find any issue that needs attending, please call us and we will do our best to help as quickly as possible.
The "neighborhood" is adjacent to a small lake, including our private lake frontage (across a quiet road) with a dock, small boats, picnic table, etc. It is very rural, but the roads are kept up well, as this is on a school-bus route, giving it priority for winter plowing and year-around maintenance. Nearby villages are Cambridge, Jeffersonville, and Fairfax--all about 7 to 10 miles away with basic shopping, etc. For more shopping and cultural experiences, Burlington is about 35 miles away.
  • Such an amazing find on Airbnb. Steve and Lisa were the easiest to communicate and were very helpful with everything. The cottage is everything you need for a sweet and lovely trip to VT

  • A great spot for our ski trip! Lots of space and what can beat a hot tub!

    Simeon2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a ski weekend at Smuggs, you won’t have to drive around the mountain. Very isolated and quiet, if you have a medium sized group and want to hang out it is perfect.

    Wesley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Lisa’s place was the perfect location for our ski trip to Smuggs. It was the very beat value around and we were sad to see it is being sold. The place had a simplicity to it but the wifi worked well and the hot tub was a fun touch.

    Nikki2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cottage in rural vt!

    Andrew2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful place to stay in the winter, somewhat secluded from the main roads but still only 20ish minutes from Smuggs, it was the perfect destination for a winter getaway. The hot tub was also a huge bonus!

    Chelsey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • OMG! I cannot think of one single bad thing about my stay. Everything was just perfect from the little personal touches to make sure that we didn't need anything to the cottage itself. The location of the cottage is secluded but it was just what we wanted. We had a total of 6 guest and we all had enough room. Check in was no problem and communication was always there with Steve and Lisa. We went to Vermont to Skii at Stowe resort and the drive from the cottage there was about an hour due to 108 being close for the winter, but no big deal honestly. If you are looking for a beautiful cabin that makes you feel one with nature this is the place to book! Thank you Steve and Lisa for an amazing one in a lifetime experience ❤

  • For skier and snowboarder groups who are looking for purely economical options, some of the lodges closer to the resorts might be a bit cheaper. For the same groups that can afford to spend slightly more for lodging and gas and are also looking for some privacy, relaxation, and some of the amenities that don’t come with a room in a lodge, this is a great option. This is why this had high value to our group, as we had the ability to kick back and relax with space at the end of the day, instead of being in a cramped lodge. Heating was great, and we never had any problems being cold in the dead of winter. The hot tub temperature slowly drops during use on cold days, and the cover must be put back on for the hot tub to achieve comfortable temperature again. Backroads are a little hilly, and could be troublesome on snow days without newer tires or awd/4wd. We only had trouble with this one day, but this vehicle needed new tires. Overall a great stay, and Steve and Lisa were always available if we needed anything.

Wake to the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore. Your cottage is situated in a quiet cove on Lake Champlain north from Kill Kare State Park and in front of Burton Island. The Cottage offers spectacular views, great fishing, and lots of bird sightings. There is a large deck and a nice little beach in front of the cottage. Certified Kiteboard Instructors next door, inquire about lessons before you arrive! SUP boards available.
What makes this space unique is the location, it's a very private spot with a beach and all the solitude you could want. The interior and decor are basic, but it is very clean and all the wonder lies on the lake. Enjoy the serenity, get on a Stand Up Paddle Board, or you may even want to take a Kiteboard lesson. The fishing is phenomenal!
The area is a very secluded summer camp location. The road dead ends at our cottage and The Sweet Cottage.
  • The cottage is extremely clean and has lovely touches without being too cluttered. The view of the lake is fantastic from both the living room as well as the enclosed porch. I did want to mention that the beds are very firm but plenty of blankets which is great for those chilly nights.

  • Jerri's place, Sweet Cottage on Lake Champlain, is the perfect spot to get away from it all and relax on a small corner of paradise. Sipping coffee or wine on the deck as we watched marine life on the lake and sail boats floating by we were able to slow life down and refresh. The cottage has everything you need with lots of extras like games and movies and Jerri is truly a super host - friendly, inviting and attentive. Incredible location and a wonderful host. We cannot wait to return next year.

As of March 1st, we have 32 inches of beautiful snow in our yard! Plenty of parking and space for your outdoor gear. Minutes to Northern Vermont University, Vermont Studio Center, the Long Trail, VAST Trail, and skiing at Stowe, Smugglers Notch, and Jay Peak. Nordic ski trails nearby. We have a large yard with a swing set and a sugar house.
We make maple syrup (otherwise known as "sugaring") on our property and if you are here in the right season (mid-March/April), you are welcome to participate! All of our guests are given a bottle of maple syrup to enjoy at breakfast or take home. Coffee (and cream), eggs, oatmeal, and pancake mix is provided for breakfast. We have a 42-inch flatscreen smart tv, giving you access to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, and we also have an antenna that picks up the local ABC affiliate. In addition, you will have a DVD player (plus movies), games, and puzzles to keep you busy between adventures. We have some available gear for babies and kids (including a pack and play, baby gate, a car seat, and a high chair), so please feel free to ask if you need something. A small child could sleep on the love seat in the bedroom. Bedding is available to convert both couches into beds. We provide plenty of warm, fuzzy blankets to help you get cozy. We know the area well and are happy to make suggestions for local outings. I work at Northern Vermont University, so let me know if you plan to visit and I can be of service.
Our neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. The village of Johnson is a 5 minute drive and home to a grocery/liquor store (Sterling Market), 3 restaurants (Johnson's Kitchen Chinese, Downtown Pizzeria, and Moog's Joint), banks, a gas station, a post office, two salons, an adorable book store (Ebeneezer Books), Johnson Woolen Mills, and Butternut Mountain Farm (good for local food, crafts, and other products). The Vermont Studio Center is home to world-renowned artists who come for month-long residencies and often hold lectures and art openings. Northern Vermont University is a five-minute drive and offers an array of arts performances at Dibden Center for the Arts. They also offer a wonderful library, gym and indoor pool (day passes available- ask me for details). Their dining hall is open to the public and offers a great variety, including vegan options and locally grown produce. The Rail Trail runs through town and is a fun way to experience the landscape and walk or bike to neighboring towns. The VAST trail is available right down the road for walking or snowmobiling in the winter.
  • Lauren is incredible! Loves the space - super easy to get to Stowe for some skiing and local eateries in Johnson. Their maple syrup is incredible - plan to buy an extra quart while you're there.

  • Had a wonderful stay here was everything I expected and more. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend Lauren’s place to anyone.

    Philip2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Lauren's place! The apartment was the perfect size for my husband, our dogs, and me. It was easy to cook meals in the full kitchen, eat and play boardgames with a view of the backyard, and enjoy a movie in the living "room." They had a great selection of games, puzzles, and movies - it was easy to relax there after activity-filled days. The bedroom was surprisingly large and peaceful, so I was able to get away and read there when I wanted some space. The location is absolutely amazing. We booked it for a short winter vacation and were within a short distance to Stowe and Smugglers Notch. It was quite snowy when we were there, and we would definitely recommend snow tires if you're visiting in winter (we're from an area that doesn't get much snow and were a little underprepared - the roads would've been fine if we had something bulkier than our all-season tires). The surrounding property was beautiful. We took our dogs out for a long snowshoe on one of the snowier days. The path we took brought us along a river and into a valley next to larger hills. We appreciated being able to enjoy nature right from the Air BnB's front door!

Charming old farm house, with many amenities...Comfortable room with private bathroom including old bath tub. Bright Airy enclosed porch with superb views of meadow and pond. Studio barn for craft and art workshop provid by host through Air BnB Experience.. Outside woods and meadow for walking.
  • Ruth and Tony are two of the most welcoming people we have met. They are really caring and great hosts. They are very intellectual and have many many fascinating stories. We really enjoyed just hanging out with them in the mornings and evenings. The house had all the necessary amenities for a very comfortable stay. The interior is really beautiful with countless pieces of art decorating every wall and surface and had a really warm, cozy ambience. The meadow within the property provided breathtaking views of the mountains nearby. The location is ideal. We were within an hour's drive to many great hikes and trails and only a short drive to some really good food in Montgomery Center. We'd highly recommend both Bernie's an the Smokehouse pub. It was a priceless experience

  • My second stay with Ruth and Tony was just as wonderful as the first. They are fantastic hosts with whom we were able to share meaningful conversations, great food, and a few laughs. The house is lovely and the room is clean and ready for our arrival. We can't wait to visit again soon. ❤️❤️❤️

  • Staying at Tambo del Sol was one of these rare experiences that you won’t easily find a second time on Airbnb. Our stay felt more like visiting our grandparents than an Airbnb. Ruth and Tony are a lovely couple who love to get to know new people from all over the world. If they accept / invite you into their house, make sure you are not just looking for a place to stay but are open to interacting with each other. They are very warm and welcoming hosts who are curious about you and your stories and are happy to share their own. They even took the time to show us around the area and we went out to dinner together. Their house has equally many stories to tell and is decorated with hundreds of pieces from their many travels. We immediately felt at home and were sad we didn’t have more time. We had an absolutely wonderful time with Ruth and Tony and will definitely be back!

    Thijs2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend Hugo and I stayed at "Tambo del Sol" for a long weekend and would highly recommend for others to stay here as well. The hosts were so welcoming they made us feel as if we were family. They took time to show us around their quaint town of Montgomery, VT and even invited us to attend a private art show with them. The conversations I shared with the hosts were warm, passionate, and intriguing. I really valued the time spent with Ruth and her husband more than other aspects of the vacation. I would especially recommend this air bnb to individuals who love to listen to and share stories, as both Ruth and her husband are travelers and have many experiences they are happy to share. The room was stayed in was very cozy and we were given privacy in that area. We had access to a private bathroom with a bathtub right across from the room. We had access to the kitchen, but never had to use it because Ruth and her husband were kind enough to cook meals that we shared together. We also had access to the rest of the home which included a dining room, living room, sun filled porch overlooking the meadow, an outdoor patio and pond, many acres of woods and meadows, and a barn in which Ruth can share her wealth of knowledge in arts and crafts. Overall, I have no complaints about my visit with Ruth and her husband and we are already planning to return. The area is peaceful and beautiful (especially in the fall) and was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you are a person who wants to keep to yourself and be alone, you may want to choose another option as Ruth and her husband's stories are too valuable to be left untold. This airbnb has truly given me an amazing weekend that I will never forget thanks to the fabulous hosts and a welcoming home and community.

Our North Main Street building was originally one of the grand mansions of St.Albans during its heyday in the 1850's. We purchased it in 2002,and spent over 2 years completely renovating, while preserving the character of the original house.
The Jewett House was originally a 5400 square foot mansion located in the last block of the city on North Main St.. The property comprised almost half of the block. it now is slightly over an acre consisting of ample parking, large garden, and spacious lawns and open space. The furnished apartment features modern amenities such as dishwasher, wireless Internet, cable, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, hairdryer and laundry facilities. . Smoking in the apartment is not permitted. outside is ok, away from other guests. Pets: Well behaved pets are accepted, and there is room both on and off site to walk them. Guests are expected to pick up after their pets.
Our place is on North Main St., the last block of the city's north/south corridor. While the street is heavily traveled during the day, things quiet down in the evening. Moreover, the back yard is large and more of a country setting. Downtown is walking distance (10 minutes) to restaurants and movies,14th Star Brewery. The shopping centers to the north of town are just 2 miles away by car or bike as is Lake Champlain. Burlington is 30 minutes away by car or shuttle bus. We are located 11/2 hour from Montreal, 1 hour from 3 ski areas and situated at the beginning of the Missisquoi Rail Trail (27 miles in length).

  • After a long drive, we were welcomed to the apartment (#4) with a lovely cheese board, fruit, and beverages. The apartment was very spacious and the kitchen was well stocked if you wanted to make your own meals. The apartment was on the first floor and our dog was very comfortable with the arrangements. The bedroom faced the main street but it was very quiet at night. There was ample parking and there were many places that were accessible by foot or car. Although we didn't have a chance to interact with our hosts, they were very responsive to any inquiries or schedule changes.

Thank you Connie and Peter for your hospitality.
