My place is in a small, sleepy town close to St Joseph's College, good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers. It has a queen bed in the bedroom and a futon in the living room. Our listing fee is what it is - no separate "cleaning fee." Our apartment has its own kitchen and laundry. We won't put a chocolate on your pillow, but stay with us and you may find some homemade baked goods waiting for you and some farm fresh eggs and produce (in season) in the fridge. Weber grill available.
This quiet, 600 square feet apartment is above our detached garage. Private and yet very safe and secure. The bedroom features a queen-sized bed, the living room a futon. Shower only/no tub. Full kitchen with a full sized washer and dryer.
We are right across the street from a nice park, that does offer a public pool in season. If you are looking for something close by, the Dairy, Pig, and Crop Adventure at Fair Oaks Farms is a 15 minute drive away. They have a great restaurant, cafe, and an adventure and learning park. Kids and adults can see what life on a dairy and hog farm is like. We also have a few great, unique second hand boutiques and several locally-owned coffee shops and restaurants. Chicago: Take a car or the SouthShore Train Line to Chicago for the day! Enjoy the free parks- Millennium Park, Maggie Daley Park, Grant Park, The Bean, and Navy Pier! Or spend the day at The Museum of Science and Industry, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum of National History, or Lincoln Park Zoo. If the whether is nice a walk along the Chicago Lake Front Shore is thoroughly enjoyable especially when you stop to eat our famous deep dish pizza at Ginos or Digiornos. Chicago almost always has some kind of festival going on, so look up the dates you will be there and stop in for the party. Indianapolis: Spend the day in Indianapolis- a beautiful city with countless excellent, unique, locally owned restaurants, cafes, and shops. Spend the day at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the Zoo, or walking around the various War Memorials. Enjoy White River State Park or any of the six cultural districts in Indianapolis like Broad Ripple. (Description credit: William and Amber)

  • If you are coming down to Rensselaer or the surrounding area and need a place to stay, look no further. There are great restaurants nearby (Ember), a neat art walk downtown, a small movie theater, the perfect date night area. The space was clean, well decorated, very very thoughtful touches. I would recommend this Air bnb 5 stars.

Huge, spacious, day-light basement suite. This is a fully finished daylight apartment built in 2015. The basement suite alone is nearly 2,000 square feet. Two large, sunny bedrooms with very comfortable beds, a full kitchen with ginormous island, very big, open living area and private bathroom. Common outdoor spaces are beautiful and spacious! We do live in the house above the suite, so little feet running and the occasional child's yell can be heard downstairs!
There is a separate entrance to the basement, but you do need to go down stairs to get to it.
Beautiful area surrounded by trees and woods. Walking paths through the woods are available and a very safe community.

  • The bath floors were warm as toast. Very nice to be able to park a car in the garage. Greg was very responsive on an extremely cold day when the garage door had a malfunction probably due to the cold weather. We were able to have a temporary fix before he had to come out on a very cold evening but just the fact that he would come right over at the drop of a hat was sure a comfort. Thanks again.

This gorgeous, 5000 sq. ft. house built in 2015, sits on 5 acres of woods. There are 8 bedrooms including a basement suite and a bonus room over the garage! The house has two large kitchens connecting to two open dining room areas, two laundry rooms, 8 spacious bedrooms, 4 baths, a play room, a loft, tons of nooks, and huge outdoor spaces: deck, porch, yard, and woods. This is ideal for family reunions and retreats! It sleeps 20-40 with extra fee of $5/person after 20 people (maximum of 40).
This 5,000 square feet house built in 2015 has 8 large bedrooms, two giant open-concept kitchen/dining areas, a large playroom upstairs, a basement suite, fun nooks and quirky big closets, a half-wrap-around porch, deck for large groups, over 6 parking spots (plus a field with endless parking), and 5 acres of outdoor wooded space connected to many more acres of woods! Room Layout: Main Floor: Bedroom 1: King bed, attached to bathroom. Bedroom 2: Queen bed (pack and play is stored in this room but can be taken anywhere) Bedroom 3: Bunk bed- full on bottom, single on top, one child's size bed There are also two pull out queen beds in the couches on the main floor Upstairs: Bedroom 4: Queen bed, two single mattress beds in double walk-in closet Bedroom 5: Queen bed, two single mattress beds in nook, two double mattress beds in triple walk in closet. There is also a bathroom, and play area and a loft upstairs. A futon is in the play room. Bonus Room: Bedroom 6: This room is only accessible through the garage. The garage stairs are a little steep and there is not a handrail, so take caution! The room is VERY large with a couch, three chairs, coffee table, counter, and one King Bed. It is not connected to regular air ducts so there is a window unit for air in the summer and a electric heater in the winter (which keeps it as warm as you need!) Downstairs: Bedroom 7: King bed, double bed Bedroom 8: Queen bed, crib There are also 4 couches downstairs, and extra sleeping bags. NOTE: The reviews are confusing because we have rented individual rooms as a bed and breakfast. However, you will not be sharing the house with anyone. We will be available through calls/texts only and will not be at the house unless there is a problem or emergency (occasional drop-by's to mow, water plants, or take out the garbage, but I will notify you first).
Lots to do in this secluded area with small town charm yet close enough to take the train or drive to Chicago, Lake Michigan, Indianapolis, and more! Quick access to I-65! DeMotte is conveniently located in a quiet area with lots of nature to enjoy, but close to two great cities- Chicago and Indianapolis. At the House: Enjoy the woods! Step out the backdoor and take a path through the woods, which leads back past a pasture, through more woods, and circles around through beautiful nature views. You are also welcome to use the bikes located on the East side of the garage. Please avoid going by the pond to the west of the property as that belongs to our neighbor. DeMotte: If you are looking for something close by, the Dairy Adventure and Hog Adventure at Fair Oaks Farms is a 15 minute drive away. They have a great restaurant, cafe, and an adventure and learning park. Kids and adults can see what life on a dairy and hog farm is like. We also have a few great, unique second hand boutiques and several locally-owned coffee shops and restaurants. Sandy Pines Golf Course is just around the corner from the house and is one of the best golf courses in the United States and very reasonably priced! A membership is not required. If you don't golf, you can enjoy the SP19 restaurant located on the course. • Belinda is a lovely host and cooks a great breakfast. The neighborhood is quiet and the setting on the edge of an oak savanna golf course beautiful.

  • We stayed at The Moran Inn for a wedding nearby and had a wonderful weekend. Belinda was very responsive to communication, was kind enough to drive us to the Pavilion for the wedding and picked us up after, and made a wonderful homemade breakfast in the morning. Could not recommend her place enough!

    Robert2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Belinda was a wonderful and gracious host. We enjoyed our stay.

    Katherine2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at Belinda's Inn since we were both in a wedding that was at the Sandy Pines Golf club (right next door). She was a great host! I, myself didn't get to interact with her much since I had to leave early for the wedding but my husband had a lovely breakfast with Belinda and her husband. Very welcoming and beautiful!

    Joanna2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Belinda, you are one of the most genuine, hospitable, and kind hosts we've ever met! Your place is inviting and comfortable and the pool soothes the stresses of life while your home embraces with a heavy dose of Hoosier Hospitality. We encourage anyone to stay at this great home, hosted by even greater people, Belinda and Kevin. And, if you are a golfer, do NOT forget your clubs! Their yard overlooks the 15th fairway of this 6th-best public course in Indiana. Kevin took me on a cart tour so take it from one who was practically raised on a golf course, this is a FANTASTIC course! A great getaway: a place for golfers and swimming pool lovers with hosts who make you feel like royalty.

  • Belinda was so lovely in welcoming us into her home. It is just a short way from Sandy Pines golf course (where we were attending a friend's wedding) and Belinda went above and beyond by giving us rides to and from the wedding in her golf cart so I didn't have to traipse there in my heels! She made us a wonderful homemade breakfast in her dining room the next morning to send us off. The house was clean and quiet, A/C worked great, it had all the amenities we needed (towels, toiletries, water, coffee). A great place to stay if you are golfing or attending an event at Sandy Pines!

This home boasts the best value and lowest price in the area! Your room has a double bed, twin bed, and an extra twin (if needed). You will be close to restaurants and a grocery store in a safe, quiet area. The location is great, beautiful and peaceful. We are a very active family. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and sleep in, we are not the best choice for you. But if you don't mind kids and the noise then we are a perfect fit. You have found a great deal!
The room is small, but comfortably fits a full size and twin bunk bed. It is right across the hall from the bathroom. There is free and FAST wifi for you to stay in touch with work, friends, or family during your stay. We are always happy to make recommendations for you in regard to restaurants, entertainment, or other options in the area.
There is so much to do in the area! It's got that small town charm, but is close enough to head up to Chicago, Lake Michigan, or down to Indianapolis, and more! I-65 is really close and easy to get to! DeMotte/Wheatfield are lovely twin towns out in the beautiful country, but are located right between to cultural and urban centers: Chicago and Indianapolis. At Our House: Take a stroll around our peaceful neighborhood. You are well within walking distance of a sandwich shop and local Italian restaurant "Marcela's" (great pizza). We also invite you to use the bikes and explore the neighborhood, and maybe head to the grocery store or dollar store to pick up a little something to snack on. DeMotte/Wheatfield: Hamstra Gardens is just a mile down the road. It is a privately owned/maintained Garden that is open to the public and more beautiful than any botanic garden you've ever seen! There are ancient ruins from Europe, towering tree houses, scenic trails, Japanese garden, frog pond, and more! We would love to show it to you if you'd like a tour. A really fun thing to do is visit Fair Oaks Farms. It is a large Dairy and Pig Farm that doubles as a family attraction. We love taking our kids there! There's a great restaurant, bus rides, and other outdoor activities on the farm. It's really interesting to get to see how a farm that size is operated. We really love garage saling! Garage Sales are PLENTIFUL in our area Thursday, Friday, and Saturday all spring/summer/fall. We also have a few good thrift stores. And we highly recommend the local coffee shop "Somethin's Brewing." Chicago: Head into Chicago by car or take the SouthShore Train Line! There are great free parks like Millennium Park and Grant Park. They are really close to The Bean, and Navy Pier! If you like nature, the Lincoln Park Zoo is free and amazing, and go see The Shedd Aquarium. Be sure to check out The Art Institute of Chicago, or head over to The Museum of Science and Industry, and The Field Museum of National History. You could just walk along the lake shore on a nice day. There are lots of festivals and events that are happening year round in Chicago. Be sure to do an internet search for the dates to catch what's happening each weekend. There is no shortage of great food in Chicago, but it's famous for it's unique Chicago style deep dish pizza. We are partial to Uno's and Due's Pizzaria. Indiana Dunes State Park: Want to spend the day at the beach? The Dunes are just north of us in Chesterton. On the shores of Lake Michigan you can spend all day in the sun, relaxing on the sandy beach, or hiking up and down the sand dunes (hard work). Take a swim in lake Michigan with the Chicago skyline in the distance. It's a picturesque experience that we really enjoy. Indianapolis: If you go south on I-65 to Indianapolis, you can see all the amazing, outdoor sculptures and fountains of Indi. The war memorials are captivating. With six cultural districts, the city has a lot to offer in The Canal and White River State Park, Fountain Square, Indiana Avenue, Market East, Mass Ave and Wholesale District. Go the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, or the zoo for a fun day with the kids. Be sure to check out the largest indoor play-place in the state at Trader's Point Church (just north of Indianapolis). It's totally free, and absolutely awesome!
  • I lived here for 16 weeks for a travel assignment for work and I am so blessed that I got to live in the home of one of the best families I know! Grant and Lora are so kind and they made me feel so welcomed. I would recommend this place to anyone!!! Not just for the great value but to meet Grant, Lora, and their amazing kids!

  • Just what I needed and good value! Thank you, Grant!

    Joni2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • My room at Grant's house was nice and comfortable. The bed was comfy and things were quiet. I also appreciated that the bathroom was super convenient -- right across the hall. G & L's kids were a delight - very polite and curious, and waved goodbye to me each time I left. Thanks!

  • Grant and his family are very nice people. They have 4 kinds so you should know that they wake up early and there are a lot of toys, but no big deal. Bathroom, kitchen and room are clean. We had a nice conversation with Grant and his wife in the evening they are a really really kind couple :) We felt very conformable and welcomed I would always stay there again and recommend this airbnb! Thanks for the stay :)

  • Very nice family. Everything was as described. Nice and quiet area. Everything was great. We did not miss anything. :)

    Marcel2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We were traveling with a toddler and wanted to stop overnight before hitting Chicago. Grants's place was easy to find when we got off I65. We arrived later than planned, but Grant was flexible and was there to welcome us. Nice quiet sleep in clean bunkbeds, then off in the morning. Met a lovely family, and got a great bargain.

    Peggy2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent value!

    John2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was very short and I didn’t get to meet Grant and his family, but he has a very friendly cute cat that greeted me as soon as I opened the door. Very cozy place to stay!

Welcome to our quiet lake house one hour from downtown Chicago, right on the lake! We have spent 2 years remodeling this home from top to bottom, and we love it. There is plenty of space to spread-out with large living areas: a living room with large TV and pool table; a full kitchen that opens to a banquet-sized dining table; and a spacious sunroom that overlooks the lake. 3 private bedrooms and 3 bathrooms make this a great getaway. Enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking, or canoeing on the lake.
This 3-story home was stripped down and recreated with 3 private bedrooms, and spacious living areas. It's designed for relaxing and refreshing specifically for our young family. You will find a queen bed in one room, a twin bed with a twin trundle in the second room, and two twin loft beds in the third room. A pack-and-play and toys are on site, as well as a pool table and Xbox Kinect. Outside, we have a small dock and a grassy shoreline to spend the day fishing, swimming or boating. Fishing poles, kayak, paddleboat, and canoe are available for guests to use. The home includes many steep stairs - both to enter the house, and the spiral staircase to the kitchen. Downtown Chicago is about an hour away - so you can enjoy a day of seeing museums, shows, sports or sights in one of the best cities in the world, and then retreat to this getaway.
A close-knit community of friendly folks; expect warm smiles, and quiet evenings.
  • A++ Absolutely wonderful place, host is very quick with communication, right on the lake. Can't beat the views from this home! Whether it's fishing, canoeing, kayaking, bonfires... you name it, this house has it all! I will be back.

  • Great place to stay in the Chicago area; especially for large families with little ones. Quiet area on a beautiful lake. Plenty of space. Kids loved playing Pac Man!

  • Great communication. Immediate responses. Lights were left on when he learned we were arriving late and he salted the steps for my mother.

    Kristina2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed 1 night at Daniels place, but it was great. Everything to make a very comfortable stay. The place was very clean and even had some toys for our little ones! Thanks for allowing us to stay an evening at your place Daniel! We will return if we get the chance!

    Carly2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel is a very responsive and conscience host offing a clean, relaxing lakeside retreat in a quiet family oriented neighborhood. The 3 story home is large, airy and comfortable offering peaceful sunrise views all floors and the master bedroom. The all-season sun-room which overlooks the lake made for a perfect relaxing morning coffee routine which my wife was reluctant to ever end.
