Places to stay in Emporium
We offer a unique farmstay experience, hosting guests in a brand new fully furnished upstairs apartment over an alpaca barn. In addition to our huacaya alpaca herd, you will encounter chickens and 2 barn cats as well as wildlife sightings of deer, turkey, and maybe even elk or a black bear! Our goal is to provide you an off-the-grid, slow-down and relax experience while you enjoy the wonders of the Pennsylvania Wilds.
No internet, TV or cell phone service - this is your time to decompress! Roosters don't always sleep at night! In addition to farm noises, some farm smells are to be expected. The apartment does not have air conditioning, but two large ceiling fans and windows that open. If our schedules allow we enjoy showing you around the farm, walking an alpaca, visit our apple orchard, vegetable garden, beehives... Guests have raved over their star-watching experiences from the deck, comparable to their Dark Skies experience at Cherry Springs State Park. With advance notice bicycles are available for rental @ $10/day for use on the adjacent West Creek Rails to Trails.
We live on 34 acres, 7 miles from the nearest town in a very rural part of northcentral Pennsylvania along the West Creek Rails to Trails and the headwaters of the Susquehanna River. Generally quiet neighborhood with some rifle target practice or mowing noises on the weekends.
  • The property was lovely and Robin was great! She took us on a tour of the grounds and gave us an overview of the area.

    Madeline2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, amazing dark skies right from your balcony. It was amazing to see the alpacas eating right under our window in the morning. The pictures of the interior do not do the apartment justice, it is truly gorgeous and comfortable. Every utensil that you may need, but you may want to bring groceries with you. After you check-in, you won't want to leave. I wanted bread for an egg sandwich, and there was no way I was leaving. it was just too amazing. We will be back, especially in the spring when we are able to explore the trail and the property more!

  • Our stay at the Little Red Barn Farm was fantastic. The place is nice, clean and perfect for a couple of small family. We enjoyed lots of activities in the area. Robin was very nice and even let us meet the alpacas. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • If you are looking for an unplugged kinda getaway from all of the "noise" this is the perfect spot. Drove 6 hours to meet my sisters from Ohio here for a girls weekend. Had a blast and the stay had everything you needed to cook a meal and relax. Hosts were great and helpful. We wish we had more time with the animals. Would love to come here in the fall months.

    Kristi2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic. It is cute and so clean. And we loved seeing the alpacas. Definitely a must-book for anyone looking for a place to stay in Emporium!

Welcome to my cozy cottage on the most beautiful farm in the world (no bias here, it's 100% fact)! Great for sunrises and sunsets, sipping coffee and wine on the porch, dark skies, shooting star and Milky Way viewing, fresh mountain breezes, and quiet nights spent snuggled up together. There is a grill and a fire pit with chairs that you are welcome to use! Please message me with questions or special requests, I try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible! :)
My parents bought their farm in the early 1980s and spent years remodeling the house and fixing up the farm. My parents had worked on the adjacent farm with the neighbors Pauline and Leonard for decades. When Pauline was ready to sell, my parents bought her land to add to their piece of heaven, making a promise to Pauline to always keep it a farm. My father kept his word, putting it in the deed that the land shall always be farmland, never to be subdivided. When our parents can no longer take care of the farm, my brother and our families will be honored to keep that tradition alive. I live in the farmhouse where our neighbors spent their early married years until they moved to their parents larger farmhouse after their parents passed. The entire house was gutted in the early 2000s, with all of the modern conveniences added, and all of the old house charm kept intact. An addition with a finished basement and large living room make the house roomier than it appears from the outside.
The house is located on a 300+ acre farm, with spectacular dark sky views. There is one main road that goes through the property that provides access to wherever you might need to go, but keeps it quiet enough to remain a retreat.
  • This place was perfect and way better than expected. Her little offerings like coffee and linens helped so much with making it a carefree trip! I would love to stay again in the future.

  • Beautiful place and wonderful amenities. Host takes good care of you!

    Vicki2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Katie is truly a super-host! Her home was super cozy and clean. There were plenty of amenities. Katie was easy to communicate with before the trip and during if needed. It was everything we wanted in a weekend getaway. It was such a fun retreat! thanks again, Katie for sharing us your home!

    Mae2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's place is awesome. I had a wee bit of trouble finding the place but that was more due to GPS and snowy roads! The house was clean, the beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything I needed. And the area is simply gorgeous. I highly recommend it if you like a peaceful and quiet getaway.

    Susan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's home is quiet and comfortable. Her kitchen is super cute. Plenty of space for people to spread out. We found ourselves really looking forward to "getting home" after our adventures in neighboring towns. Definitely a place we would return to. Especially at a new moon with hopes of better weather!

    Sarah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's place was exactly what we wanted. It was quiet, peaceful, well maintained, and came with movies, games, a nice grill, and plenty of kitchen supplies. We used the fire pit at night and then drove a few miles to one of the state parks and walked a really cool and adventurous trail.

    Dave2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great house! Everything was super cozy and peaceful! Would definitely come again

    Alex2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The host’s communication was very helpful which made check in a breeze. Great spot for stargazing but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate during our stay. Plenty of amenities available in the house to relax and entertain. Be aware that cell service in the area is lacking, however wireless internet was available (not high speed). Plenty of DVDs are available at the house but if you’re planning to stream anything be sure to download them prior to arriving due to internet speed. Overall worth the stay! Thank you Katie!

Rustic cabin on 7 acres in the heart of Potter County where visitors can relax and get away from it all! Surrounded by forest, wildlife is abundant here and deer, bear, turkeys, porcupines and even fishers and bobcats can be seen. Excellent trout fishing (Southwoods branch <1 mile); star-gazing at Cherry Springs State Park (17 miles); Lumber Museum, Lyman Run State Park and Lyman Lake (15 miles).
  • This is truly a hunters cabin in the woods! The host provided excellent directions (that we were even able to navigate in the dark) down a dark dirt road and up a steep driveway. The house was exactly as pictured - cozy and interesting. There was a cabin smell that made you know you were somewhere special.

    Colleen2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to get away from everything. Very private and relaxing and the hosts did everything they could to make our stay memorable.

    Keith2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, secluded and a wonderful ambiance. I mostly enjoyed the history of the home. It truly felt like home. Highly recommend!

    Marcella2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy getaway! We enjoyed star gazing, and relaxing as a family. Loved the lack of WiFi - helped us to have more quality time. Dayle was very helpful, and we enjoyed learning about the history of the cabin. Thanks, Kristi!

    Sylvia2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for all the activities we had planned. Accomodations were good for two couples and a great place to relax.

  • Secluded mountain cabin Great decor for the outdoor type Great host

    Haley2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our recent stay at Kristi's Rustic Cabin. It was very private in a nice wooded setting - a true taste of wilderness living! Loved sitting on the swing on the covered porch listening to and watching the rain one day. The cabin was clean and we appreciated the well appointed kitchen, and shower amenities. Kristi's mom, Dayle, was very helpful with getting acquainted with the cabin and with local spots to try out (Be sure to grab a meal at Olga's!). The main focus of our visit was the dark sky stargazing at nearby Cherry Springs State Park, and we were not disappointed. Lots of beautiful scenery in this area. We were also impressed by the fact that the cabin was built from scratch by Kristi's parents - great workmanship when you really looked around!

  • There is really not enough that I can say about this cabin and the property it is on. The cabin is better than expected and I entered with high expectations. The land is perfect for hiking and exploring in the light of day or the excitement of darkness. I did not see any stars this trip due to weather but I will most definitely return.

    Mike2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was a great place to disconnect from the busy every day life! Very cozy and peaceful with a beautiful night sky!! Chris was very accommodating and a great host.

    Raquel2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Blue Skies Lodge was amazing! We were lucky to get 2 great nights of stargazing. Worth the trip and would definitely be back.

    Brennan2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This secluded cabin has it all: lounge with bar, games, stargazing guides, and binoculars, deck with rocking chairs, a full kitchen, outdoor grill, fire pit, and last but not least: its own stargazing field! We were a short drive to some nice hikes and were excited to return to the cabin and enjoy some food and time by the fire. When night came, we laid some blankets in the field and enjoyed the Milky Way and a few shooting stars. Our only regret was not staying longer. Chris was very responsive to all my questions leading up to the trip and called me to make sure I could find the cabin before we got on the road. Thanks!

    Chun M2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing cabin! We had clear skies both nights, saw a meteor, and so many shooting stars! The cabin was quiet and private, with cute little touches. Exceeded our expectations. We will be back to this little slice of heaven!!!

    Megan2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was very responsive and extremely helpful with directions, suggested activities, and even accommodated a last-minute extra night stay! The cabin has everything you could want. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances, pots, dishes, cookware, pantry items, etc! There were even stargazing books, binoculars, and bug spray! Above and beyond hospitality. The stargazing field was beautiful during the day and absolutely spectacular at night. Much appreciated that dogs are allowed (they also had a great vacation!) We will definitely be coming back. :)

    Bern2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to get away from it all and make lots of memories relaxing with your friends and family!

    Tina2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Would 100% rebook. My family and I had an amazing time staying in Chris's cabin. We were extra cozy and felt right at home. We were able to enjoy board games, the bonfire, and even tent out in the observation field - which was an amazing experience. You will not be disappointed.

  • We stayed 2 nights in January, there was snow on the ground but the roads were very well maintained. I would recommend 4 wheel drive in the winter but just as a precaution. The cabin is 4.2 miles outside of a great little town, 30 mins from Cherry Springs State Park, and 4 hours from Niagara Falls which we visited during our stay. We had a wonder and secluded romantic getaway in the most picturesque charming cabin by the stream. Highly recommend to anyone looking for peace and quiet or star gazing during clear weather. Thank you.

  • An adorable little cabin not too far from Coudersport and many state parks including Cherry Springs. The space provided the comfort of home with a secluded backdrop of trees and a babbling brook. The fire pit was excellent to sit around and cook food on. Overall, a very relaxing trip with loved ones and our dogs!

This little farmhouse sits in a valley in the heart of Elk country. It is a quiet little place that will offer rest and relaxation. If interested, there is a golf course 5 miles up the road, or you could spend the day fishing in the Driftwood/Sinnemahoning creek. If the day offers warm temperatures you may want to swim or just float on a raft in the creek. Nearby communities offer many different events throughout the year that you may want to check out.
The house has everything that you would need for the kitchen, and the bathroom. Each bed has a set of sheets and comforter.
The house is on a working farm. There are barns with lots of different farm animals. Please ask someone, before entering the barns....just so they know that you are there.
  • This is exactly what we needed and expected. There are very few lodging options near sinnemahoning where we were visiting for a weekend event. All of us having our own bedroom, having excellent communication from Melissa (she was so incredibly responsive), and having all the comforts of home was appreciated. It really just feels like you're staying at a friend's country house.

  • This house is located in a nice rural setting, ideal for people who want a quiet relaxing stay after a busy day of being on the go. Although it is on a working farm, it is very quiet except for a rare "call' from one of the farm animals which we enjoyed hearing. The house has plenty of room, is cozy, and very clean.

    Becky2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This little house is the perfect little getaway! Right in the heart of Elk Country! Melissa is so helpful and quick to respond! Everything was neat and well kept in the house and her directions were spot on! I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away and beable to possibly see elk right outside!

This is a very rural area. Cell reception is limited. Grocery stores 1/2 hour drive. Little local stores 10 minutes. Restaurants 15-30 minutes away. You are 1 mile off the main road. This is peace and quit you are looking for. Watch nature from you front porch and you will see deer any time of the day. You might even have the opportunity to see a bear. There is so much to do for the outdoor person. It's here to take full advantage of.
This is a brand new 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, full living area, full kitchen.
This camp is up a valley with two other cabins which are hardly ever occupied until hunting season. You will have total privacy from the world.
  • There was ample firewood and the woodstove will keep the place plenty warm in the winter. The cabin itself was beautiful and has all of the amenities you should need. There is a relaxing stream right beside the cabin. It's a great place to disconnect from the outside world. We loved our stay here.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Robert's. Clean and comfortable space in a peaceful setting. The wood burning stove with plenty of pre-cut kindling and logs was the highlight of the home. Great weekend getaway. We will visit again and hope for clear skies so we can stargaze.

  • This was one of the best weekend getaways I have been a part of. Tim was an awesome host who consistently went out of his way to make us comfortable. You don't need to head out too far for star gazing, you can simply sit around the front or backyard and enjoy the milky way. Or simply relax with a bottle of wine around the amazing firepit in the back yard. The kitchen was nicely stocked with the necessary baking and other kitchenettes. Tim was very polite and super prompt in communication and directions on how to get to the cottage. Would absolutely recommend this location and the wonderful hosts.

  • We met family and stayed in the Cameron Lodge for a long weekend. It was perfect for our family reunion. The kitchen was stocked with everything that you could possibly want! The pellet stove and fireplace kept us warm. The grounds were perfect for our lab to run free. She enjoyed swimming in the picturesque creek. The hosts were attentive with our questions and responded quickly when we needed the driveway plowed after an overnight snowfall. We all remarked that it would be fun to return in the summer or fall.

  • The cabin was great. Very spacious. Everything was nice and functional. It isn’t very fancy but when you have small kids you don’t want fancy, so it was perfect for us. Everything you need is there and there were amenities I wasn’t expecting like dish soap and trash bags, etc. The WiFi is about sporadic but what can you expect in the country. The grounds are very nice with decks and a creek out back. I’d like to come back in the summertime. We had a small issues with check in being delayed a bit but Chris was very gracious and more than made up for the small inconvenience. He was responsive and nice. We would definitely come back!

    Christine2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! First night was too overcast to see any stars but the second night was so clear and he view from the house was spectacular! We booked last minute but he was very accommodating.

  • Great getaway. The area was beautiful and even though it rained and was cloudy during our trip it was still nice to get away. There were 8 of us and we had a great time. We cooked all of our meals amd made smores by the firepit.

    Indu2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • A great cabin with a wonderful view! We could see the stars right out of the door!

    Alex2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious, clean, and cozy, with a well-stocked kitchen. The two living rooms were big enough for 10 people to gather in. The stars were incredible in the night sky, and there were lawn chairs and benches in the yard to sit and stargaze from. The fall leaves were beautiful in the nearby state parks and forests. Chris was a great host - he provided helpful guides for the area, and accommodated our late check out without issue.

    Kevin2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was such a hospitable host. Everything at the house was just as expected. It was a fantastic home base for our stargazing trip out to Cherry Springs. Chris made sure we had everything we needed and was super helpful throughout the weekend!

We watched deer all weekend. The house is out in the woods, but only a few minutes to the cute town of Coudersport. Wellsboro is about an hour away, which is worth the trip. The house is the best stocked of any that I have stayed in. Steve is very quick to respond.

  • All needs were met, hosts were accommodating to our groups needs, had a blast!

    Sam2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • I took a group of eight of my closest friends up to this cabin for a little birthday weekend getaway under the stars, and my group had a wonderful time that we wont forget anytime soon! This place is perfect for anyone who wants to take a step away from the city and into the quiet serenity of the Pennsylvania Wilds. While I'm a more outdoorsy adventurer myself, some of my guests were not, and this cabin allowed us to be immersed in nature while enjoying a fair amount of warmth, luxury, and comfort. The space was beautiful, well-stocked, and had plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was modern and had plenty of room for the entire crew to help out with cooking, the bedrooms were comfortable and clean, the couch and chairs in the living area were dangerously plush and perfect for lounging in front of the fire, and the outdoor spaces were amazing for stargazing (the hot tub was a group favorite) or enjoying your morning coffee. I have been asked by several of my guests if we can make this a yearly adventure since they enjoyed their stay so much, and quite frankly we might just have to!

Have you ever sought perfect balance? Close enough, but not far away... Rustic, yet modern... Cozy, but still spacious... A bit of peace in the mountains, but with the perfect proximity to town? The Elk Antler Inn is a new, fully-renovated cabin in Benezette that offers guests the feel of a rustic retreat along with the ease of close proximity to some of the town's best attractions.
Situated along highway 555, just on the outskirts of downtown, The Elk Antler Inn welcomes elk-watchers, families, happy (or unhappy) couples, hunters, fishermen, outdoor enthusiasts, wine connoisseurs, moonshine lovers, collectors of antiques, or anyone interested in what our beautiful area has to offer. The cabin has two wildlife-themed bedrooms, the "Bear Cave" and the "Deer Trail," each with a queen bed; there is also a sleeper sofa available in the living area for extra guests. For our culinarily-inclined guests we have installed a brand new, modern kitchen equipped with (hopefully) everything one would need! There is a full refrigerator and freezer, gas range, oven, and microwave and for the outdoor cook, a propane grill. All utensils, pots, pans, plates, serving dishes, slow cookers, blenders are provided so that all you need to bring is food and drink. The seating in the living room includes new Ashley Furniture, including a (sleeper) sofa, love-seat, and recliner; the centerpiece of the space is the beautiful propane fireplace, surrounded in cherry, which will not only contribute to the ambiance, but will also keep everyone warm and toasty (who would have thought building a fire would be this easy???). For those rainy days, Dish Network is available on the flat-screen television, which sits on top of a custom piece of furniture made from locally-sourced hickory and horse shoes. There is also WiFi available for those of us who need to be connected! The bathroom features a shower with a waterfall, spa-type shower head, a modern sink, and commode, with a beautiful cherry accent wall. The front porch is cozy and has seating for two while providing a view of the mountains, as well as a front-row seat to watch the activity at the Nuthatch Studio across the street, where local artists craft various pieces of art, including one-of-a-kind carvings from logs using various sized chainsaws. The more spacious back porch overlooks a fire pit area where guests can use the custom-built cooking surround to grill their favorite foods over the open fire or just relax and toast a marshmallow. Beyond the fire pit area is several acres of wooded land where the elk herd like to travel and the woodland birds flock, there is a swing fixed to the back deck that allows guests to sit back and watch our majestic wildlife move through their natural habitat. If you only can spend so much idle time watching wildlife, The Elk Antler Inn is also close (really close, in fact!) to local attractions. Moonshine? You can walk there. Cafes and restaurants? Less than one mile. The local winery? Less than one mile. The stunning Elk Country Visitor's Center? Well... 2 miles. There are PLENTY of other gift shops, antique shops, wineries, and restaurants within reasonable driving distance... just ask us for recommendations! If outdoor adventures are your thing, The Elk Antler Inn is close to hiking trails, equestrian trails, snowmobile trails, fishing spots, state game lands, kayak/canoe waters, scenic overlooks, and just plain gorgeous scenery. We have spent years hiking, fishing, and hunting the area and are more than willing to highlight maps, give directions, communicate experiences, and share the best of what we have been so blessed to experience here! We hope that we have created a space where people are eager to come and spend some time away from their routines. To bask in the glory of nature, to feel small next to the mountains, to feel a quickening of the pulse near wildlife, and a sense of peace hearing the rush of water. We sincerely hope that you will spend some time with us, just to spend your time being in our woods, experiencing our animals, and loving every second.
  • Great hosts. Cabin is very cozy. We enjoyed the fire pit. The location of the cabin is close to everything in town. You will not be sorry if you book this cabin.

  • The cabin far exceeded our expectations. The entire home was immaculate and provided plenty of gathering and sleeping space for our large group. The kitchen was perfectly stocked for everything that could possibly be needed. Quiet, private location close to elk viewing areas and with beautiful woods for hiking.

  • Todd is a great host and responds very quickly. The Lodge was immaculate and updated. Having the outdoor space along with large indoor area was great for our family trip. Note that if any guests have mobility issues the beds and baths are not on the main floor. Would highly recommend this home and this host!!

The Old Alth Farm is a 100 plus year old farm in Potter County. Stay with us and relax on the porch while listening to the stream flow past, or start a fire in the pavilion and enjoy a meal and smores with family and friends. We are all about the outdoors and relaxing with nature. Numerous state parks are within minutes of the farm. Cherry Springs State Park is less than 15 minutes away. The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum and Lyman Lake state park are nearby as well
Outdoor pursuits like star gazing, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking and cross country skiing in winter
  • Great view of the Eastern sky

    Joe2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy and historic farm with wonderful touches and amazing views out from the windows and the porch.

    Fabian2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Very cozy and relaxing. The pavillion was especially neat and we loved having a fire at night. The kitchen is fully supplied with pots and pans and there is a grill on the porch. Overall a really nice place to chill for a few days.

    Nora2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful historic home with all the charm, character, peace, beauty, and quiet one would expect in this location. A gurgling stream, open fields (with a resident horse who stays to himself) and privacy add to the experience of being one with nature and oneself. The home was nice and clean with charming touches throughout (artwork/paintings, old blankets/quilts, antique furniture pieces, great plumbing, and sparkling clean, fresh well water to drink). The drive into Coudersport is short and scenic and the locals are friendly and helpful, willing to engage in conversation. Going to Elk Country, about an hour away, is amazing to see! The elk were literally lounging in people's yards. If you want to do as the locals, get yourself an ATV and explore as well. The GPS can be a little tricky but we had good luck simply putting in the address of the house (there are two main routes to get there, both leading you to Black Hole Road (take the entrance that has the Kaple cross rd sign or the one that has a big barn). William responses are very quick so if you get lost, no worries! haha But beware of the lost phone signals (text and Internet). Overall, a fantastic stay, even in the beginning of winter.

    Pamela2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at the Old Alth House and Farm! The farmhouse is well-kept and very clean. There is plenty of space for the kids to roam around. Very quiet during the day and night. The night sky was amazing. And you can get into town quite easily from the spot. Highly recommend.

    Gabriel2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This house is in the perfect location for seclusion! Wonderful house with a spectacular pavilion with a huge fireplace. A truly magical location. Host is very quick with responses.

  • William's house was a lovely place from which to explore Cherry Springs. My friends and I absolutely loved staying there. It's clean and cozy and has a great porch and yard for stargazing.

Beautiful area with backyard stream to fish or go wading. See the elk wonder by. Enjoy Benezette!
We are renting the lower level of our house, a totally separate apartment. The top is for our personal use. We typically are not there when it is rented out.
small neighborhood, close to town, yet far enough away to be away from any traffic or crowds.
  • To be very satisfied.

    Richard2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best rental in Benezette! Far enough out of town to have privacy but close enough to walk to dinner or breakfast or to the winery. Delores’ Lodge is super clean and the yard is private with a lovely view. Would highly recommend staying there.

    Lorrie2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and as described. Very quiet and private for being so close to the center of town. The trailhead for a very good state land hiking trail can be walked to from the cabin. "The elk trail". While hiking this trail we saw deer, elk and coyote.

    John2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, we watched elk hang out in the backyard. First floor entrance with no steps and the double door was perfect for getting Mom inside with her wheelchair. Comfortable and well stocked with all the necessities too.

    Stacey2018-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • A little hard to find because my gps took us ip a school driveway, but a dtop at thr.local winery (yum!) gave us super easy directions , and we were at Mudcy Creek Elk Lodge within minutes It was Sparkling clean and ready to move in, perfect location! Has everything you need, except a deck of cards for down time. Loved it!

    Sandra2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing trip. The cabin was very clean and exactly as listed. The only thing I would suggest are a few more comfortable chairs around the fire pit. The benches were wobbly and didn't feel safe to sit on. The cabin itself was very well equipped and organized. The best thing about this place were the elk that came through the property every day. We even had three males sparring in front of our vehicles! This is an outstanding place to stay and watch the elk. We will definitely stay again!!

    Debra2018-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Dolores' place recently and her place had everything you could possibly need. Plenty of cookware and dishes, comfortable space, large bathroom, neatly decorated, clean and plenty of wood for a fire. Her house was located in a quiet area with just a couple other cabins near the creek and away from all the traffic and people but close to everything. We would stay there again. Thanks!!

    Beth2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very nice. It exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious and incrediablu clean. The yard was amazing, 8 elk in the yard one evening. Super close to everything. We would def stay again.

  • We had such a great time staying at the Riverside Lodge! The house was super clean and stocked with everything we needed for the weekend. Lots of extra towels and clean linens on the beds made it easier for us to travel there. The host was great and stopped over on the first night we were there just to check that we had everything we needed. They gave us some tips on local restaurants and attractions which was super helpful. The outdoor fire pit was perfectly situated right next to the river and it was so relaxing to sit and listen to the crackling fire and the water right next to us. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a quiet, calm retreat in the wilderness of PA!

  • Beautiful location right off the East Branch River and a few miles from East Branch Dam. A lot to do if you love the outdoors. If the weather isn’t cooperative the porch facing the river is very relaxing as well as the main living room area. Excellent place to stay

    Eugene2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • A small group of us stayed for a fishing trip/mini vacation. The house/lodge is location right on the East Branch of the Clarion River, which made it ideal for us. The kitchen and bathrooms were spotless and the living room made you feel like you were in a lodge out west or up north. Bedrooms were comfortable and having both a large porch and fire pit that overlooks the river were great. A perfect location for a medium or large group of people - we will certainly be back.

    Jason2018-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Came with a large group of guys wanting to have fun and go fishing. Our experience was great. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. There was more in the house than we expected. The place is huge and maze like, really cool. Beautiful trout stream touching the property. Up and down river both were great fishing. Caught lots of Brookies and browns. The locals were very friendly. Everyone waved as they drove past if you were on the river. We even took a small kayak trip from the dam right to the house. About a 40 min trip about 2 miles with very light white water. The river was moving relatively quickly. Could have went down river farther with a simple pickup but decided to stop there. There is also a beautiful bar right on the water within walking distance. Other than that not much around. Perfect. Exactly what we were hoping for.

    Chad2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend this place for vacation. I stayed with my family and friends for a weekend at Ron’s place. The house was spacious plenty of space for our party of 14, great location right by the river and beautiful surrounding. Ron was easy to communicate with and very responsive to our needs; I highly recommend this property to other guests.

  • the no wi-fi thing really is a bummer, as my cell service (google fi) was pretty iffy. and i do think 200/night is hella pricy for that area but if you are in a pinch, this will do the job. the place was pretty straightforward and it looks just like the pictures. the heat came on really fast - and we were thankful for the extra blankets/pillows.

  • Our stay was perfection! Excellent hosts, sparkling clean, luxurious amenities, thoughtful personal touches, pet friendly, great WiFi and signal at the cottage (there is NONE) anywhere else. I recommend grocery shopping ahead of time and cooking in the beautiful kitchen! Beds are very comfortable! Roku tv was a nice touch for tv time at night. Love the guest book to leave personal notes in. Can’t wait to go back!

    Cory2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything we wanted and more! The location is great, took us about 10 minutes (would've been less without the snow) to get into town. We weren't lucky enough to see any wildlife in the yard, but we loved sitting in the hot tub while enjoying great views of the valley. The only minor downside was the basement/ family room area is only accessible by a metal spiral staircase, so we weren't able to enjoy it due to our dog's capabilities. We would highly recommend this place to anyone and can't wait to come back again when the weather is nicer and we can fully appreciate the awesome deck and outside space!! Also of note, our hosts were very responsive and considerate of our questions!

    Brittany2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • WOW - this off the map cabin is a must visit if you're looking for some place clean, relaxing, with one of the most breathtaking views from a nice hot tub. The pictures dont do this place justice - its larger than pictured, meticulously clean with a fully equipped kitchen that allowed my family to cook meals as if we were home. Dennis was prompt and quick with responses and was available if I needed anything - check in and out was a breeze. This place is truly gorgeous, we will be back indefinately. This was my first experience with AirBnB and thanks to this host and his super beautiful home - I will continue to use this platform. The home was also pet and child friendly which was great convenience. Also we were left a tasty bottle of wine, plenty of supplies and there was a washer and dryer for use as well so thank you. Thank you from Toronto, Canada! We had a great New Years trip here.

  • We stayed here for an extended family getaway weekend, and everyone had a blast. The lodge is a little off the beaten path, but that’s the idea. Sledding and hiking during the day, games and fun by the warm fireplace at night. On a clear night, the stargazing is amazing. Perfect for families.

  • Bear Trail Lodge was the perfect getaway for our group of friends. We spent time enjoying the property, cooking, gaming and watching football. Sam was prompt in his communication and very friendly. Would definitely return!

  • Sam has thought of every finishing touch. The whole cabin is well maintained and offers great amenties. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, hanging by the fire place and playing some games in the basement. If you enjoy hiking there is a trail out the back of the cabin as well. Would definitely stay again!

  • This was about an hour and 1/2 from seeing the Elk at Benezette. Had great walking trails around the cabin, saw deer, and the house was more than adequate for a large group! Ping pong tournaments downstairs was a hit especially as grandpa was the champ!! We were there during the leaves changing and views in all directions!! Had a wonderful time, making memories with our family!
