The cottage is located on the banks of the clear Marukawa River. Gifu is famous for Shirakawago and Hida Takayama, but Enbara is also a nice place in the mountains, although it is inconvenient. The Enbara River is known as the most beautiful underground water in Japan and a famous spot for its light, and the inn is located about 800 meters from the spring water point of the underground water, so the water transparency is excellent. You can also see the light from the inn. On summer mornings, depending on the weather conditions, you can see a magical view of the sunlight pouring through the trees. The water in the Marukara River is cold, but in summer the children play in the river energetically. The riverbed is much cooler, so people can escape the heat and cool off. A little downstream there are several river play spots, and the water is clear everywhere and it feels good to swim beautifully. The water of the river shines emerald green in a slightly deep place, and the scenery of rocks and moss is also wonderful, and it is a healing spot where the mind is purified. During the war, a doctor who was working in Manchuria, when he returned home after the war, responded to the passionate request of the locals to open a clinic in this land where medical care was not sufficient, and opened the clinic. The locals were involved in the construction, for example, the men cut down and transported the trees from the mountains, the women carried the soil by hand, and the gardeners created a garden centered on a large pond to make the doctor's stay comfortable. It was a loving place created by the whole village. Later, transportation was developed, and when its role was over, it was considered for dismantling, but the owner of Akari was called upon to renovate it into its current form.
