It was a relaxing trip like going to a relative's house. The rice was very delicious and it was a place that I would definitely want to visit again.

The villa is very clean and big. There is 4 rooms and a big kitchen with dinning table where the host prepare the utensils for us to enjoy our shabu shabu. Every rooms have heater so we did not feel cold during zero degree at night. This is one of the biggest villa that i have stayed in bnb. The host cooked us a delicious breakfast that warm our day. Highly recommend people stay here no matter big groups or small groups. It is a very beautiful japanese house and would be nice having a tea in the patio or kitchen. Thanks the host for everything, your house and your little doggie "Fu" is the best!

Beautiful authentic experience

I stayed one night on the way back from climbing. The hotel guest was me alone, but the atmosphere was very calm and the clean bath that I could relax in was very good. The tiredness of mountain climbing and the driving of a car blown away. The room was also considered to be warm. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We were fortunate to have the whole place to ourselves and also did a soba making experience with Nakamura-san. It was a lot of fun and we were still able to communicate with our hosts through Google translate. They were also nice enough to drive us from the train station directly to the house and vice versa! If you happen to be staying in Echi-zen, this is a great place to stay!

Nakamura san’s Airbnb is a Gem. It’s a 70 plus year old traditional house in the Japanese style. It accommodates our family of 8 comfortably and has all the amenities you can ask for. The house is located in a beautiful part of Japan - Takefu, Echizen is near the rugged and beautiful coastline facing the japan sea. It is tranquil and an oasis of calm away from big cities, yet in short driving distance of major towns as well as places of interest. Of note is the Fukui Prefecture Dinosaur Museum Nakamura san and his wife are the sweetest hosts one can ask for. He helped us navigate around, booked restaurants for us and suggested sites of interest too. This is a great place for a family to stay.

During the stay, I enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of an old private house and enjoyed sightseeing in Fukui. We used by two people, but were allowed to use by charter. The whole house is free to use, and there are kitchens, toilets, and baths. It was perfect except there was no washing machine. I would like to use it if there is another opportunity.

Very nice, welcoming, warm, and especially suits our constraints. For example, check-in adapted to drop our bags early in the morning to visit all day without problems, but also very responsive when we asked a question by message! It's just perfect !!! With accommodation at the top of traditional type, tatami and futon, the dream!

I had a very relaxing stay at Kizuna. Naohiro and his wife greeted me with great hospitality. The house is very spacious and a mix of western and Japanese style. One of the few places with properly insulated windows, a huge plus during winter! Located right next to a bus stop, a large supermarket is in walking distance as well as Washi no sato. Breakfast is tasty and filling. Recommended even if you don't speak Japanese

I stayed because I was vegan. I had a time like a slow holiday in a secluded old private house that I could not taste in the city, just like I went to my grandpa and grandma's house during the summer vacation. I stayed with my parents and children for three generations. Because I was from Hokkaido, I wanted to experience Japanese traditional rural houses. The 90-year-old house felt relieved from the moment it came in, and the time seemed to flow slowly. I was able to spend relaxing in a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

It was very good. It was better than I thought. Ms. Osamu is very kind and genuine. After coming to pick me up at the station, I spent a lot of time together for the 2 nights and 3 nights I stayed with, taking me to various local events (village sinkimen and watermelon split event) and place etc. He introduced me to various people. English Osamu-San, Better than expected, had a lovely time in the deep country side of Japan, in a peaceful old-style house, where I slept in a single room on the second floor and got woken up to the sound. He took me to several train station and basically looked after me the whole stay of 3 days. He took me to several places to a local village-event and introduced me to many local people and his family, who also looked after me. Looking forward to be back again.

The two local hosts Mayumi-san and Juro-san were very kind and approachable, providing insights into local life in Sabae City, Fukui as well as travel tips. Although the listing is a bit far from the station, my friend and I found the tranquility and experience of living in an old-fashioned, local accommodation worth the hassle. I highly recommend those looking to experience rural Japanese lifestyle and traditional craftmanship (i.e. Echizen lacquerware, Japanese washi) to visit!

Although this place is remote, it is a life in the countryside. You can take the bus to Xishan Park and a nearby hot spring called le pause. These two places are very satisfactory. Although Tomo is on a business trip, we are also very happy to communicate with Ms. Araki and Mr. Watanabe. This is a great experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Mr Naohiro & his wife’s guesthouse. Their hospitality is fantastic and the guesthouse is extremely clean and very comfortable - the beds were the best I have ever slept on in an AirBnB. We also had the most delicious breakfasts in the beautiful garden each morning. Mr Naohiro came to collect & drop us off at the station, as well as to one of our meetings. This was very helpful as we did not rent a car. Mr Naohiro made good suggestions for our stay as well. There is also a beautiful park to explore very close to the guesthouse, as well as the traditional crafts of the region. I would definitely recommend the guesthouse to anyone; attention to detail was immaculate. We had many meetings during our stay and could not spend much time with our hosts but both Mr Naohiro & his wife is very friendly. Thank you once again for a great stay!

The scent of a nostalgic house in the countryside, the scenery was a very cozy place-I was worried because there was no cooler even in midsummer, It was cool and I was able to sleep. I was very happy to meet Charlie-San. He is a great host and is so kind. The house is beautiful and very well preserved in the Japanese style. I stayed two days and woke up to the beautiful sound of birds. The mountainous scenery of Echizen should be better appreciated. It is a small and charming town. I definitely recommend it.

The accommodation is very beautiful and located in a Japanese place. Please also recommend the history and sightseeing spots of Echizen variously because the host is also very nice, it was good. The house is also a Japanese traditional mansion, I think that it will be a great experience for foreigners. And supermarkets and convenience stores are near, so it was very convenient. There are many cherry blossom trees on the river side near the inn, and I'd also like to go there in the spring.

This time I went on a business trip to Fukui and I had no choice but to stay at a guest house outside the city. The host contacted me politely and picked me up. The house is fashionable and fully equipped with daily necessities. There are many supermarkets, it is a quiet cityscape and it is a cozy place. I had a job this time, and unfortunately I didn't have time to go sightseeing, but I would like to stay here again for sightseeing.

We had a great time in Sakai. The apartment was really clean, organized and the owners very welcoming. It’s a bit far from the Tojinbo but Kawahara-san was very kind and took us to Oshima’s entrance and we did an amazing walk to Tojinbo. Oshima is a really beautiful e quiet place, still out of the crowded tourist spots. The path along the sea is the highlight, specially scenic. Me Kawahara’s lovely wife prepared us some delicious soup. We are so glad for all your efforts to make our time her really pleasant. He also took us to the Shinkansen station. Thanks for everything Kawahara-San!

The room is spacious and very comfortable, and the host is extremely polite and accommodating of any needs you may have, including using google translate if you aren't quite confident enough in your spoken Japanese. Transport is easy enough, with a train every 30 minutes or so to and from Fukuiguchi station and the pick up and drop off was great. I wish I had spent an extra day or two so I could have explored the local area a bit more, as my full day there was spent on a day trip to the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum (which is perfectly manageable to get to from here). If you are reasonably confident in conversational Japanese I'm sure you'd get even more out of your stay here!

I used it as a relay for motorcycle touring from Tokyo. I felt that the Hokuriku area has a lot of beautiful roads. I would like to recommend it to my Kanto motorcycle friends. Hostel291 is close to the bypass and the Hokuriku Expressway interchange, so I think it is the best base for visiting Fukui, Ishikawa, Shiga, Gifu, etc. Also, this was my first time using a hostel, but my host Nozomi was very kind to answer the questions and was able to stay in peace.
