You will hear many languages spoken on the streets, we live in Dorchester by choice.
  • Amazing place at a very convenient location, super short walk from the T. Great amenities and outstanding hospitality. I highly recommend Corey’s place and will stay here when the opportunity to come back to Boston arises!

  • Corey and Bill are amazing hosts! From the get-go, the welcome at the front door and the tour and the personal touches to each room and their home is phenomenal. I immediately felt comfortable and appreciated the goodies in the kitchen that they provide for the guests. The room itself was so comfortable and homey and I absolutely loved the Cape Cod feel of the room. I can tell they make every detail matter and it definitely goes a long way. They provide everything you could possibly need for your stay like towels, slippers, closet space, extra covers, bathroom amenities, and space to settle. In addition, it really is only a 4 minute walk from the Redline, and the area is near eateries and I absolutely loved the Blarney Stone which was recommended by Corey. The stay was affordable and I would 10/10 stay here again when I come back to Boston. You can't beat the comfort of feeling welcomed.

  • One of the best Airbnb experiences I've had. Location is perfect - a 4 minute walk from a Red Line stop so getting around was a breeze. Simple breakfast options were available in the kitchen. The room was decorated beautifully and was very clean. To top it off our host was incredibly hospitable and friendly. Truly the cherry on top to our Boston visit.

  • Beautiful house, good position near train stop, Corey and Bill fantastic!

    Simone2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were amazing and the dog was adorable! We were a little nervous renting a room in someone's house instead of just a private apartment for the first time but it was easy to check in and feel right at home. The room was bigger than we thought and the private bathroom was already stocked with decent shampoos and conditioners. There were always fresh towels for us to use and breakfast was laid out for us every morning. 10/10 would stay again!

    Samantha2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t say enough good things about this Airbnb, Corey is such a nice and thoughtful person and very hospitable. We had a great conversation and he let me pet his adorable dog. The room was perfectly clean and cozy. The bathroom and kitchen were also really nice and was fully stocked with anything you could need. Stay here if you want an unbelievable experience for a very cheap price.

  • Host has amazing recommendations, free breakfast and exceedingly warm hospitality. We felt very comfortable in this warm and cosy home! Would definitely be booking this place if we are ever back in Boston :-) Outstanding place to stay in; safe, clean, comfortable, value for money and good location. Has really nice paintings and plants all over the house, and an adorable dog too! Highly recommended!

  • This place is very friendly for hosts! Attentive care was basic and it was good to communicate too well. There was always a fridge full of drinks and yogurt, and outside there was bread, bagels, cereals, nuts, and fruit, so I could have a good breakfast. The room was spacious, clean and simple to see. I want to go there again later. Strongly recommended! This place is very friendly for hosts! Attentive care was basic and it was good to communicate too well. • Angela’s place was really nice and cozy. You don’t need to bring many stuffs cause this room and bathroom have everything you need. It was great.

  • Angela’s place was wonderful to stay at! Not too far from Boston center!

    Ariel2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place was amazing! Everything we expected and more. After arriving on a wet and miserable evening after 3 long days of travelling from Scotland, it was so nice to walk into somewhere that immediately felt homey and comfortable. We also recieved a lovely welcome from Angela who offered us a nice cup of tea to warm us up. The bed was so comfy and theres lots of little touches that make your stay easier and help you feel settled. We unfortunately had to cut our stay a day short due to travel arrangements but we have already talked about staying at Angela's on our way back through boston!

    Connie2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really cozy, adorable room! Easy to get to public transit, very comfortable bed, and everything is well-decorated. Angela was a great host!

  • The room is so cozy, I recommend to stay here if you want to be relaxing and feel at home during the stay

    Ayaka2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Angela was very accomodating. I was allowed to check-in earlier and she was responsive with questions as well as concerns. The room itself was smaller than I expected. Bathroom was clean and shower had good water pressure as well as hot water. However, the place/area looks unsafe. A few days before my stay, a murder occured a couple streets away. I recognize that the host is not responsible for this but this incident does make the location unsafe.

    Adeline2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was perfect, Angela is very attentive and was always pending.

    Rigoberto2019-12-09T00:00:00Z

Guests will also have access to the shared 2nd floor guest bathroom which was just renovated last year and includes space for you to store private items. The laundry room is also located on the 2nd floor; laundry is available for long term stays. The bedroom is about 120 Sq Ft (11 Sq Meter) and includes: -queen size bed and pillows -large closet with hangers -fresh sheets and towels -welcome kit -air conditioning during hot season (June-September) -mirror The shared bathroom includes space to store your items, a hair dryer, place to hang towels. We also have an iron and ironing board available for use. The laundry room is available for long term guests use. The kitchen includes coffee and tea available for guests. We are Fabs and Christy, natives of South Brazil and Minnesota. We moved to Boston over 15 years ago for college & instantly fell in love with the city's energy, so we decided to call it home. We got married two years ago and love to spend time with friends and Air BNB guests. We share our enormous house with our pets and Air Bnb guests from our 3 listings. We are friendly people who love good company, traveling, wine, learning different cultures and pampering our dogs! We live in a gorgeous 3000 Sq Fr Victorian home built in 1890, which we completely renovated ourselves over the last four years. Our home is spacious and comfortable, with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a finished basement apartment, an open concept kitchen area designed for entertaining, a second living area, where we relax and watch movies and finally a gorgeous recently built stone wrap around patio with lounge furniture, dining area, chill chairs and a grill. We are located in Adams Village and a 7 minute walk to the Ashmont T-stop and a block away from numerous bars and restaurants, convenience stores and coffee shops. Our house is on a super private one way street but we are right around the corner from fun and convenience! Parking on our street is free and allowed.
We are right in the heart of Adams Village, one of the villages of Dorchester. The house is one block distance to Adams Village square. This is a historical area of Boston, where wealthy land owners, architects and big business owners used to live back in the day. Today, Adams Village had become a hip neighborhood with a non stop inflow of young professional and young families, due to the beautiful homes and accessible prices found here. There are 12 great restaurants you can go to within about 10 min walking from the house. They range from an amazing craft beer selection bars to very nice steaks houses. You will find something to eat. Ask us about favorites!
  • Well priced and comfortable accommodations.

  • I booked this room for my dad when he was visiting me from out of town. He had a smooth experience checking in and out, and I was able to communicate easily with Christy to make sure he knew where to go. He met Christy and the dogs and mentioned everyone was very friendly and he felt welcomed. Thank you for hosting!

  • Christy & Fab’s home is sparkling clean, so welcoming, & fabulously decorated. I highly recommend staying here!

    Beth2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the space; spending time in the hubbub of Boston then sleeping in a quiet neighborhood with gorgeous architecture made it feel like being it home. Quick walk to public transport, a handful of restaurants. The pets are the sweetest and the Cloud room was comfortable. Thanks!

  • This was my second stay at their place and once again it did not disappoint! Amazing hospitality! So sweet! And a great stay! Would stay here again!

  • Thank you so much for the lovely stay!!! I felt like I stayed in a mini hotel, with stairs :) loved your welcoming dogs and funny cat. Thank you again!

    Maria2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fabs and Christy have a impeccably clean and gorgeous home, perfectly situated just outside of downtown Boston. I entered the home with the easy-to-use August Home lock and was immediately greeted by the hosts. Fabs showed a tour of the home where he explained the layout and what amenities were available. Once to the room, I saw that there was a thoughtful personal note on the bed with clean towels, toiletries, and some small candies. The room and linens were clean and comfortable, feeling as if I never left my own home. I was only in the house for one night, but Christy happily shared the availability of the laundry room (for ironing/steaming clothes) and kitchen (for small items) with me if needed. Both Fabs and Christy are among the most hospitable people I have ever met. If you have the time, I recommend talking with them as they have great stories and give warming conversation. They have set a higher standard for Airbnb on all regards. If you are in the Boston area, I would give my highest recommendation to book with these hosts. Thank you for such kind hospitality!

Greg and Alicia's check-in and check-out instructions were incredibly clear and all of their recommendations were great - we really appreciated their knowledge of the local area. We had a great stay in Boston and will certainly be returning in the future.

This very unique private suite is brand new & comes w/ its own back private entrance. Including a new queen size bed and its own ensuite bathroom! The room is extremely clean and very nicely decorated. A quick 5 minute walk to Ashmont T Station (Red Line), which takes you directly to Downtown Boston, Harvard Square, South Boston, Kendall/MIT, U Mass. Great restaurants nearby - Ashmont Grill and Tavolo Ristorante, as well as a local Italian bakery and coffee shop just across the metro station.
Our home was originally built in the early 1890's. It is located in Ashmont Hill, which is an area within Boston's Dorchester area that is known for their beautiful victorian homes, diverse and eclectic neighboorhood. The house is located about a five minute walk from the Ashmont metro station - which is the last and/or first station on the red line. Extremely convenient.
The House is 5 minutes away from the Ashmont T Station (Red Line), which takes you directly into the city. There is also a great restaurant/bar about a five minute walk from our house, called Ashmont Grill. This is our hang out place. They have great food and all around drinks. And on Thursday they have $1 oysters!

  • The Boiler Room was very stylish and comfortable! Plenty of space and lots of thoughtful amenities throughout. Easy check in, very clean, great location. The hosts were quick to respond to all questions and we found their Boston local tips to very helpful/insightful; we enjoyed all the spots they recommended!

    Tania2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Romo & Nayeli are super kind and welcoming hosts! They did a great job in renovating the Boiler Room! It’s very cosy and clean. It’s not super close to the city center, but the Red Line is nearby and offers a good connection to the center. I didn’t miss the kitchen at all, because Boston has so many nice restaurants. Moreover, you can make your own coffee and tea in the Boiler Room (with yummy Swiss chocolates). Comfy bed and a nice bathroom. I had a great stay there.

Big beautiful room with a queen-sized bed and cot (not an air mattress). Ideal for 2 guests. The room has a large closet and dresser. Full access to bathroom, kitchen, living area with TV & patio. Please note that this home is shared with 3 other rooms and bathroom wait times may not be ideal, especially during peak season. (I am working on solutions, so I am open to ideas!)
The room has a brand new full-sized bed with a small couch. There is a dresser and a large closet. The room accommodates 3 people easily, using the couch as a bed (it pulls out as a bed), a cot, or an air mattress.
Ashmont/St. Mark's neighborhood has excellent restaurants and bars, is very safe, and is a short ride to the city. Dorchester is Boston's oldest and largest neighborhood. Nearby, there are a ton of local favorites, all locally owned! My street is mostly made up of families and tends to be on the quieter side. Near Ashmont, you will experience a more lively crowd. This area is perfectly safe and friendly-- I have been living in the Ashmont area of Dorchester alone for almost 5 years and have never had a single problem!

  • Everything is good at this place except parking place. You won’t be able to find parking spot at any give point of time. You will have to spend atleast half hour around the community and nearby lanes/communities to find a parking spot. Street parking is a mess here. On the first day itself, my car’s mirror was damaged by someone when i parked my car on the street nearby. Please make sure with the host regarding parking before you book this place. Everything else is good.

    Darshil2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I needed an affordable, clean place to sleep for 3 nights near a train stop, and that’s what we found at Natalia’s place. Walking distance to the train, self-lock box so you don’t need to meet up with anyone, place was clean. Yes you have to share a shower/bathroom, and yes everything creaks and you can sometime hear the other guests. During our stay everyone was quiet and respectful, and we showered during off times, so we didn’t have any issues.

Don’t worry about the noise of the train (i’ve read it in other review), doesn’t bother at all. Is all very quiet, confortable and very very clean.

This listing is for one of THREE rooms we have available in this house. The other two are: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/18368646 and https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7239024 We are Scott and Minter Richter of Minter & Richter Designs. We are lucky enough to own two beautiful Victorian homes right next door to each other in the historic neighborhood of Dorchester in Boston, MA.
Fabulous Victorian home with three floors plus a basement for laundry. Built in 1860, the house is beautifully renovated on the interior. Large kitchen with all new appliances. The largest front porch in the area for summer, spring and fall. Great for enjoying a cocktail or cup of coffee and relaxing. The Room where you sleep has a QUEEN size bed, two chairs and table, a dresser, night stands, and large, hanging closet. Directly across the hall is a shared bathroom with a 6-foot tub and shower. Soap, towels and other bathroom necessities provided. The big, purple Victorian house next door is our residence so we are always there if you need us or NOT if you don't :)
Located within minutes of downtown Boston and Cambridge via the MBTA Subway. It is about a 15 minute walk to either the Shawmut or Ashmont station on the Red Line. From either T-stop, you can be downtown in minutes Dorchester is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Boston. Culturally diverse and vibrant, it is loaded with fabulous restaurants, many within walking distance. Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian, Haitian, Jamaican, Irish (great Irish pubs nearby!) . There are also great gems like DBar just blocks away which is fabulous for cocktails and karaoke.
  • Polly was very nice and was around the house during my stay. She answered all my questions and responded quickly to messages. Her recommendation of Lambert’s Rainbow Market for groceries was great! Walking distance to the Red Line was relatively short, making it easy to leave my car behind when I was going into the city.

  • Cozy and thoughtful residence

    Fawn2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean, super duper host and an amazing person! I stayed for almost 1 and half month and had a wonderful experience throughout. I loved the cookies and muffins Polly baked for us. Enjoyed the in-house like a private gym. There are always plenty of fresh towels available. A short walk to the T station. Definitely would love to come back and recommend this place!

    Sachin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Polly's place is tucked into a wonderful part of Dorchester with easy access to all things Boston without being too overwhelming. The home itself is beautiful and cozy. If you're not careful, you're bound to get too comfortable and never want to leave. My dog and I stayed for two months and met many wonderful roommates. The hosts are nice and run a very cool business. Thank you for having us and providing a home away from home.

    Jasmine2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful and economical visit to Boston thanks in large measure to Polly’s lovely accommodations. Her house was beautifully appointed. The room was spacious and inviting. The bed was just about the most comfortable I’ve slept in away from home. Add in Polly’s kind hospitality and you have the makings of a delightful getaway.

    Karl2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Room is nicely appointed and spacious. Nice amenities including a workout room in the basement. House is in a cul-de-sac and a quiet street. One can walk to the Shawmut red-line T station in about 10-12 minutes. One small inconvenience: the single bathroom is shared by 3 rooms. In the morning, depending on everyone's schedule it can be hit and miss if one is planning on getting ready at a specific time and is on a work schedule.

    Ed2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Polly’s place was beautiful. Hands down, gorgeous home, and a wonderful way to experience a classic New England home. The street was beautiful and Dorchester was cozy. There were some parts of Dorchester (towards the T station) that didn’t feel particularly safe to walk at night, but the immediate area surrounding our Airbnb was beautiful. The only issues we had is the neighbors woke us up at 3a.m. a few nights with what sounded like chanting right outside our window (which overlooked the neighbor’s porch). Other than that, the stay was amazing and we loved it.

    Mikaela2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a quick trip for medical reasons so was there for a very short time. Due to our late night and early schedule , We didn’t even have the opportunity to meet Polly in person this time. The home was lovely and we have already scheduled our next visit for a week. We look forward to meeting Polly when we return.

Stay on the private top floor of a unique Victorian home in one of the most historic and charming neighborhoods in Boston.
Two spacious bedrooms and your own private bathroom appointed with clean, comfortable amenities.
This house was built in 1874 by a prominent Boston family and has been lovingly cared for over the past century. The whole neighborhood is full of similarly historic Victorian houses that each have their own character. You are within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in Dorchester, including Italian, Vietnamese, Caribbean, Cape Verdean, and more.
  • If you are considering visiting Boston, stay in this home!!! Easy access to the subway and comfortable amenities! Communication was fast. We didn't meet Josh, but Hammad was super friendly! If I have friends traveling in the area I will definitely recommend this place!

    Jenna2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place of Joshua & Hammad is absolutely worth its price. It's close to the Shawmut metro station, which makes a convenient connection to the city. They offered us metro cards and had some tea, coffee and cookies ready upon arrival. The rooms and bathroom are large and were clean, the beds are very comfortable (especially for my grandmother which was important!). They are nice hosts and therefore, I would highly recommend others to stay here! Best Belgian Regards, Niels and Grandma.

  • Very nice accommodation in a central location

    Carola2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just had a great 3 night stay and we all really enjoyed it. The property is exactly how it is in the photos. Perfect location, only a very short walk to Shawmut subway which is easy to get to everywhere from. We didn't have a car and found the property nicely located to be able to get to places easily. Josh also left out Charlie cards for us to load up and use, which again made travelling easier for us. The bathroom was my favourite, such a lovely, hot, powerful shower and nice big towels. Also having your own tea, coffee and treats available was a lovely added bonus. If you are looking to stay in a beautiful neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of Boston, then this is a great place to consider.

    Hannah2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Book this beautiful home for a most comfortable (spa like bathroom!) & clean stay with very polite and friendly hosts. The beautiful house shares the common entrance but guests have complete privacy. Josh & Hammad were wonderful hosts who were very prompt with their responses to all our questions/concerns both before & during our stay. Getting to the airport & downtown BOS maybe a 20-30min car ride but highly recommend this listing.

    Dilu2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Very clean. Josh was very helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. Would definitely stay there again!

    Jackie2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was clean. Hosts are very nice and kind. Love the bathroom. Super user friendly and clean!

    Jing2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re thinking about staying here, just click the book button. Joshua is a great host and his home is absolutely beautiful and clean! It wasn’t far of a drive to the heart of Boston so location was extremely convenient!

  • Me and my family stayed at this place for more than 2 months but Jeff and Cynthia were very friendly and hospitable through out our stay. They were quick to respond to text messages or any questions we had. The house had all the necessary amenities and my family had a amazing time at this place. This felt like a home away from home. We had no problems with parking (we were able to easily find parking spots right in front of the building) or the laundry (which was conveniently inside the place). Our stay was perfect and my parents loved it. Thanks for this wonderful experience. Great place to stay!

Third floor living space with private bath right on the red line. One bedroom with queen size bed. Small living room area. Dining room area with a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.
It's a clean, renovated third floor living space with it's own private bathroom. It has its own heat zone with thermostat. Some parts of the rooms have clipped ceilings, and therefore not full head room, however only rarely have we ever had complaints and only from exceptionally tall guests.
Dorchester is a large and vibrant neighborhood in the city of Boston. It is extremely diverse with many different ethnicities represented.
  • Great location, very kind hosts. Close to the train station. Just be aware if you are tall that you need to lean down a lot to not hit your head....but I'm also not from the East Coast so others are probably more used to the slanted ceilings...lol....All in all, good place to stay for Pax East.

    Mandie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn and Oliver have created such a wonderful and welcoming space for their guests. They truly take hosting very seriously, and this fact is reflected in the cleanliness, hospitality, and amenities that they provide. The location is also amazing, right next to the red line, which allows for easy and cheap transportation to almost anywhere in and around the city. All in all a fantastic experience and I would definitely stay there again!

    Linda2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Oliver and Glenn have been the best hosts I have ever stayed with! Although the space was amazing, filled with personal touches, I most appreciated my interactions with Oliver. He went above and beyond for me. Right when I arrived, he got me a basket filled with fruit and banana bread. He showed me around the beautiful top floor (my stay) and then gave me tips about using the public transit/ things to do in Dorchester. The next morning, I had an interview at the local hospital. I ran into Oliver as I was leaving and he offered to give me a ride to save me from braving the cold. This was incredibly kind of him, and I appreciated this sweet gesture! All in all, Glenn and Oliver are amazing humans with an adorable Golden retriever, in a beautiful house. If you're looking for places in the area, and their listing is somehow still available, I highly recommend you BOOK IT ASAP- your stay with Glenn and Oliver will surely be a highlight of your trip.

    Rohan2020-01-31T00:00:00Z

    Kay-Lyn2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn and Oliver are gracious and kind hosts. The third floor space they’ve created is clean and charming. They provide a delicious breakfast daily and their pup is absolutely adorable. Their home is conveniently right behind the T red line which takes you through the entire city all the up to Somerville. I am returning back home well rested and I look forward to recommending this property to all my friends.

    Neha2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn & Oliver were great hosts. They greeted us when we arrived, gave us tips about transportation, and brought a small breakfast every morning. The only drawback was that the space is a little cramped by the sloping roof. We would definitely stay there again.

    Robert2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing amazing couple! Their space is so artsy, adorable dog and their personal touches and delicious honey are priceless! I would recommend this place for anyone. The top level is private and good sized. And they are so close to the T-station!

This 2 ensuite bedroom apartment is brand spanking new - along with all the furnishings. It includes one queen & one full size ensuite bedrooms. The unit is extremely clean and very nicely decorated. Only a 5 minute walk to Ashmont station (red line), which will takes you directly to DOWNTOWN Boston, Harvard Square, South Boston, Kendall/MIT, U Mass. There are two great restaurants nearby - Ashmont Grill and Tavolo Ristorante, as well as a local coffee shop + a Dunkin just across the T station.
Our home was built in the early 1890's. It is located in Ashmont Hill, which is an area within Boston's Dorchester neighborhood - that is known for their beautiful victorian homes, diverse and eclectic neighboorhood. The house is located only about a five minute walk from Ashmont T station, which is the first or last station on the red line. Extremely convenient.
The House is a five minute walk to Ashmont T Station (Red Line), which takes you directly into the city. There is also a great restaurant/bar about a five minute walk (in front of the station) from our house - called Ashmont Grill. This is our hang out place, and totally recommend it. They have great food, friendly locals - and great all around drinks. And on Thursday they have $1 oysters!

  • I stayed for 1 night with my family at Romo’s. The apartment is gorgeous and it is apparent that a great deal of pride, thought, and effort went into decorating this place. There were neatly folded towels and chocolates placed on the bed when we checked in. The whole space was very modern and cozy. Things I liked: - no key needed. There’s a code to get in/out - 2 bathrooms (for obvious reasons) - very clean - Romo replied quickly with any messages - plenty of street parking - 15 minute drive to Boston

Large, spacious room with two full-sized beds on the third floor of my cozy home. It's an easy 7 minute walk to both Ashmont and Shawmut stations on the Red Line, a 20 minute ride to downtown Boston! Please note that this home is shared with 3 other rooms and bathroom wait times may not be ideal, especially during peak season. Please note that the bathroom is on the second floor of the home. (I am working on solutions, so I am open to ideas!)

Like saying previousl, a quiet neighborhoods and safe neighborhoods is a plus. Perhaps other city in America holds as much history of the colonial and Revolutionary War era as Boston. It's not surprising then that its main sites have become a pilgrimage trail for Americans and for others who hope to get a sense of that history. But more than that, the Freedom Trail is a good introduction to today's city, connecting or passing close to some of its best loved tourist attractions. Boston is easy to navigate on foot, as its major sights are relatively close, and America's first subway system, the T, connects its important neighborhoods. Across the Charles River, a watery summer recreation area whose Boston shore is reserved as the Esplanade park, is Cambridge. Although a separate and independent city, for tourist purposes, Cambridge is part of Boston and connected by the same transit system. Here, you'll find two of America's most prestigious and important universities, Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). These and the many other universities and colleges in the area help keep Boston a youthful and vibrant place to be, with a lively cultural scene. With all the music, theater, and entertainment options, plus its abundance of restaurants, you'll never be at a loss for things to do in Boston 1 Freedom Trail The three-mile Freedom Trail leads you past - and into - 16 of the city's principal historic monuments and sites. It's easy to follow, by the line of red bricks in the sidewalk and by footprints at street crossings. Begin by picking up brochures on the attractions at the Visitor Center in the Boston Common before heading to the State House. The trail will take you to Old Granary Burying Ground (where Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock are buried), King's Chapel Burying Ground (Boston's oldest cemetery with the graves of Governor John Winthrop and two Mayflower passengers), Old South Meeting House (where the ringing speeches of patriots spawned the Boston Tea Party), and the Old State House. This is Boston's oldest public building and the site of the Boston Massacre. The trail continues through Boston's North End, past the Paul Revere House and Old North Church, and ends across the bridge in Charlestown with the 54-gun frigate USS Constitution and the 220-foot granite Bunker Bunker Hill Monument. Known as the "cradle of liberty," Faneuil Hall was built in 1740-42 by Huguenot merchant Peter Faneuil as a market hall and presented to the city on condition that it should always be open to the public. The ground floor is still occupied by market stalls; on the upper floor is a council chamber, which in the 18th and 19th centuries was the meeting place of revolutionaries and later, of abolitionists. On its fourth floor is the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Museum, with weaponry, uniforms, and paintings of significant battles. The adjoining Faneuil Hall Marketplace includes three long halls (Quincy Market, North Market, and South Market), dating from the early 19th century, now occupied by a lively assortment of shops, restaurants, and exhibitions. In good weather, you'll find street performers and buskers putting on shows in the square around the market, and along with the numerous food stalls, there are also shops selling jewelry, clothing, gifts, and souvenirs. This is where you'll find Durgin-Park, one of the many historic places to eat in Boston. Address: Faneuil Hall Square, Boston, Massachusetts 3 Fenway Park Known as "America's Most Beloved Ballpark", Fenway Park is one of the most fabled sports complexes in the country, and even if you're not a sports fan, a tour of it is both fun and interesting. The home of the Boston Red Sox looks much the same as it did when it opened on April 20, 1912. One of its most recognizable features is the Green Monster, the 37-foot green wall in left field, and the park still maintains some of the remnants of "old time" baseball such as the hand-operated scoreboard. It also has the lowest seating capacity in the Major Leagues holding only 33,871 spectators (a fact that makes tickets exceedingly scarce). Address: 4 Yawkey Way, Boston, Massachusetts 4 Boston Common and Public Garden Swan Boats In the heart of the city is Boston Common, America's oldest park and the start of the Freedom Trail. In this large green space, which is much used by locals year-round, are various monuments and the Central Burying Ground of 1756. You can rent skates to use on the Frog Pond from November through mid-March, enjoy the spring blossoms and fall foliage colors reflecting in its surface, and in summer, watch youngsters splash about in the wading pool. Adjoining it on the west side of Charles Street, is the 24-acre Public Garden, America's oldest botanical garden, as well as Victorian-style monuments and statues, including an equestrian statue of George Washington and popular modern bronzes of a family of ducks immortalized in Robert McCloskey's children's book Make Way for the Ducklings. One of Boston's most iconic experiences for all ages is riding around the lake in the garden's center on the famous Swan Boats, first launched in the 1870s. Well-kept brick homes in Federal and Greek Revival styles line its tree-shaded streets, and at its heart is Louisburg Square, where homes face onto a leafy private park. Author Louisa May Alcott lived here from 1880 to 1888. The Nichols House Museum, a Federal-style home by Boston architect Charles Bulfinch, shows how Beacon Hill's upper class residents lived and is filled with collections of 16th- to 19th-century furnishings and decorative arts. At the western foot of Beacon Hill, Charles Street is lined with boutiques and shops that have traditionally catered to the neighborhood and are popular with visitors as well. Beyond Charles Street, facing the Public Garden, The Bull and Finch, established in 1969, inspired the popular television program, Cheers. The north side of Beacon Hill is far more modest, and has been home to immigrants, including a sizable African American community, since the early 19th century. National Park Service Rangers offer free guided tours of the Black Heritage Trail from April through November and you can follow the trail on a self-guided tour year round. The Boston African American National Historic Site includes 15 pre-Civil War homes, businesses, schools, and churches that give a picture of Boston's 19th-century African American community. The Museum of Afro-American History operates the African Meeting House, the country's oldest (1806) church built by and for Black Americans and now restored to its 1854 appearance. The 1834 Abiel Smith School was the first public grammar school for African American children. Displays at both include artifacts, films, art, and sculpture related to the black experience in Boston and New England. Highlights elsewhere include a 12th-century lacquered-wood sculpture of a Buddhist Bodhisattva and Korean painted screens, the ivory and gold statue of the Minoan Snake Goddess from 1500 BC, and a statue of the Egyptian pharaoh Mycerinus and his queen from 2548-2530 BC. Physics, biology, chemistry, ecology, zoology, astronomy, computers, and more are explored in more than 700 permanent, hands-on exhibits that are enhanced by stage presentations and interpreters. Highlights are a 65-million-year-old fossil discovered in the Dakota Badlands, an electricity dome with continuing programs, the Butterfly Garden where you can walk among free-flying butterflies in a conservatory filled with exotic plants, a live animal center, a chance to join local meteorologists to learn weather forecasting, and ComputerPlace, where you can operate a robot and explore how your computer stores information. The Paul Revere House, which he bought in 1770 and lived in when he made his famous ride, is the only patriot's home on the Freedom Trail, and is open to tour. You can also climb to the tower of Old North Church, where lanterns were hung in April 1775 to alert Paul Revere that British troops were headed to Lexington to arrest the patriot leaders and confiscate the munitions supplies. The beautiful white interior of the church still retains its historic box pews. The North End is a favorite spot for tourists for reasons that go well beyond its important historic sights. Although it has changed a bit over the years since it was filled with newly arrived immigrants from Italy, it retains its Italian character and lively flair. You'll find Italian restaurants; cafes; bakeries; and shops fragrant with aromas of cured olives, fresh-roasted coffee, and Italian cheeses. You'll also find the North Bennet Street School, where skills such as bookbinding, cabinet and furniture making, carpentry, silver and gold work, and violin making are taught. Their gallery shop is like a museum of fine craftsmanship and a good place to shop for one-of-a-kind gifts. 9 Harvard Square and Harvard Art Museums Harvard in the spring    Harvard University, founded in 1636, is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States and is widely considered one of the world's leading academic centers. Go to the Harvard Information Center to take a spirited and entertaining free walking tour of the campus guided by a student who will share history, Harvard lore, and personal perspective. Or you can download a tour from their website. Harvard Yard sits right in Harvard Square, a lively hub for students, "townies," and visitors, filled with shops, bookstores, and allegedly more places to buy ice cream than any other U.S. city. Adjoining Harvard Yard is the Renzo Piano-designed home of the Harvard Art Museums, including three formerly separate collections, each of which ranked high as major U.S. art museums. Few universities have such enviable collections. Fogg Art Museum concentrates on Italian early-Renaissance art, the Busch-Reisinger on Expressionist art of central and northern Europe, with Bauhaus objects and paintings by Kandinsky and Klee. The Arthur M. Sackler Museum has one of the world's best collections of Chinese jade, as well as Chinese bronzes, Japanese prints, Indian art, and Greco-Roman antiquities, especially vases and sculptures. Address: 32 Quincy Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts Official site: www.harvardartmuseums.org 10 Boston Public Library and Copley Square Boston Public Library and Copley Square    The main square of the Back Bay area is surrounded by both old and ultra-modern buildings. One side is formed by the Boston Public Library, founded in 1848 as the first publicly funded lending library in the country. Architect Charles Follen McKim designed the present building in 1895. Go inside to see the library's Renaissance Revival architecture and murals by John Singer Sargent and Edwin Abbey. Granite medallions over the entrance arches are the work of the pre-eminent American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The three sets of bronze doors in the vestibule were created by Daniel Chester French. Regular Art and Architecture Tours are among the several free things to do in Boston. Facing the library, across a grassy lawn, where you can enjoy a picnic lunch with neighborhood office workers, is Trinity Church, a red sandstone building designed by architect Henry Hobson Richardson in his distinctive style, known as Richardson Romanesque. Trinity is widely considered to be his finest work. The murals, frescoes, and painted decorations inside are by John La Farge and much of the fine stained glass is by Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris. On a third side of the square is the venerable Boston institution, the Fairmont Copley Plaza; these three buildings, backed by the sheer glass wall of a skyscraper, create a stunning cityscape. A block down Boylston Street, look for the finish line of the Boston Marathon, run each April on Patriot's Day. Just beyond is the Prudential Center, a 32-acre complex of apartments, shops, restaurants, and a 52-story tower. On its 50th floor, you can visit the Skywalk observation deck for 360-degree views of Boston and its surroundings. Rogers Photography    Set in a building its eccentric creator modeled after a 15th-century Venetian palace, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum displays its collections in rooms surrounding a four-story central courtyard filled with flowering plants and fountains. The priceless 2500-piece collection of paintings, sculptures, furniture, tapestries, decorative arts, books, and manuscripts reflect the personal tastes and considerable expertise of Mrs. Gardner herself, whose own flamboyance further adds to the charm of the museum. Behind the palazzo, a 70,000-square-foot glass-clad building designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano creates new viewpoints for the original palazzo and stunning spaces for music and visual arts, allowing the museum to showcase exceptional contemporary works and artists. Rather than clash or compete with the original building, Piano's wing simply provides a new glass through which to view Mrs. Gardner's palazzo. From almost anywhere in the new building are uninterrupted prospects of the palace and gardens through transparent walls. After you tour the museum, stroll through the Fens, a long green space where you'll find a beautiful rose garden in bloom from June through October. Rogers Photography    Although the four museums that make up this complex contain treasures such as the artifacts brought back by Lewis and Clark, for most people, the highlight is the more than 3,000 models of 830 species of flowers and plants, some with insects, and all so realistic that you will have trouble believing they are made of glass. Created between 1887 and 1936 by artisans Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka, the flowers are unique in the world, and their secret process has never been replicated. These are part of Harvard's massive research collections, shown under one roof in the Peabody Museum of Archeology and Ethnology, the Mineralogical Museum, the Museum of Comparative Zoology, and the Botanical Museum. Particularly strong in Native American exhibits, the Peabody shows artifacts and art interpreted as part of a living culture, even when that culture has vanished. You can admire some of the finest examples of Native American arts from many periods and tribes, and also see how these changed as Europeans provided a new market for their goods. Those who like the Victorian "Cabinet of Curiosities" feel of old traditional museums will love the Pacific Islands balcony - it's like stepping back a century. The Museum of Comparative Zoology, founded by Louis Agassiz in 1859, contains an extensive collection of fossils, including a 25,000-year-old mastodon. The mineralogy collections include a dazzling display of rough and cut gemstones, a world-renowned meteorite collection, rocks, ores, and minerals from around the world. After a period of decline for much of the 20th century, new life was breathed into the area in the mid-1970s with an ambitious redevelopment plan. Today, this interesting mix of residential and commercial space is connected by HarborWalk, an attractive walkway along the waterfront, with parks, public art, benches, cafés, interpretive signs, and access to several means of exploring the harbor by cruise boat, ferry, or water taxi. A shuttle-boat also runs to the Charlestown Navy Yard. Although it extends from Charlestown to South Boston - and will expand considerably farther - the part you won't want to miss goes from the North End through the wisteria-draped pergola of Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, past Commercial Wharf, India Wharf, and Long Wharf, and by Rowes Wharf before curving along the harbor into the vibrant Seaport District to the Institute of Contemporary Art, an art museum dramatically cantilevered above the water. The Boston Tea Party Ship, a replica of one of the original ships from which the Sons of Liberty dumped tea overboard the night of December 16, 1773, offers tours with a participatory reenactment of the event. At Rowes Wharf, you can board an Odyssey cruise through Boston Harbor from Castle Island to George's Island, then east to the Boston Light on Little Brewster Island, and back north to Charlestown Naval Yard before returning to the wharf. You can enjoy lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch as you savor the views of the Boston skyline from the water. The skyline is especially beautiful at night, when you can take a starlight or full moon cruise. The ship is open to visitors, who can go below desks and hear about the ship's construction and action at sea. Across the pier, the USS Constitution Museum provides historical context through interactive exhibits that illustrate life aboard a naval vessel two centuries ago. Another ship you can tour here is the Cassin Young, a World War II destroyer. Charlestown Navy Yard is part of the Boston National Historical Park, and it's a short walk to the Bunker Hill Monument and Museum, also in the park. The 221-foot-tall granite monument marks the hilltop site of the earthen fort built by New England soldiers prior to the Battle of Bunker Hill, the first pitched battle of the American Revolution. In addition to its regular symphony season, the hall is home to the Boston Pops Orchestra, which sets an international standard for performances of lighter music. For many visitors, the highlight of a trip is a Pops concert, either in Symphony Hall or at the Hatch Memorial Shell, an Art Deco outdoor music shell on the riverside Esplanade that has become a Boston landmark. The shell hosts a regular program of concerts and other special events, and is especially famous for the Boston Pop's yearly performance of the 1812 Overture on July 4th. Beacon Hill, Copley Square, and the Waterfront/North End are all within easy reach of these highly rated hotels in Boston. Luxury Hotels: These hotels are in Boston's most prestigious - and convenient - locations: Copley Square and Beacon Hill. Fairmont Copley Plaza is the Grand Dame of Boston hotels, an elegant and gracious landmark property overlooking Copley Square and minutes from the Public Garden's Swan Boats. The intimate Lenox Hotel is known for personal attention in the heart of Back Bay, adjacent to Prudential Center and Copley Square, close to museums and Newbury Street shopping. XV Beacon crowns historic and fashionable Beacon Hill, next to the State House and overlooking Boston Common. Mid-Range Hotels: Boston's waterfront extends from the North End Italian neighborhood to the newly blossoming Seaport area, handy to harbor cruises, seafood dining, museums, and historic sites. Boston Marriott Long Wharf overlooks Boston Harbor, close to the New England Aquarium and North End attractions. Seaport Boston Hotel guests enjoy sweeping views across Boston Harbor and the downtown skyline, excellent service, and a no-tipping policy in the hotel and its restaurants. In a skillfully repurposed brick factory building, Residence Inn Boston Downtown Seaport is steps from the Boston Children's Museum and downtown attractions. Budget Hotels: Even Boston's budget-friendly options are conveniently close to the center. Opposite the Prudential Center, The Midtown Hotel is near the art museums, Symphony Hall, and Copley Square. Especially handy to sport and entertainment events at TD Garden, Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Boston Garden is near the North End and Quincy Market. Tips and Tours: How to Make the Most of Your Visit to Boston Sightseeing: For first-time visitors to Boston, the best way to see the attractions and get acquainted with the city layout is to take a Hop-on Hop-off Trolley Tour. This tour stops at all the major tourist attractions and gives you the freedom to stop where you want and see the city at your own pace. For a fully guided tour that includes many of Boston's top sights along with the Revolutionary war attractions of Cambridge, Lexington, and Concord, opt for the Boston in One Day Sightseeing Tour. Traveling by air-conditioned coach, you'll see Beacon Hill, the North End, the Seaport District, and some of the historic locations along the Freedom Trail, including the USS Constitution. However, if you are traveling with children between spring and fall, you might want to consider the Boston Duck Tour, in a revamped WWII amphibious vehicle that has both a land and water portion to the tour. This tour is popular with both adults and kids, but will be much more enjoyable for youngsters than a typical trolley tour. • Excellent place if you’re looking for a quick and affordable stay. Although I didn’t meet Michael in person, I was able to communicate efficiently with him. I booked last minute, on a whim, and he was also accommodating with my changing plans. The room was clean and tidy, while the rest of the house was a little cozier. The amenities are basic but sufficient. The gigantic flat screen television in the room was definitely a plus. For a solo traveler unfamiliar to Boston like me, the only downside was the location. Perhaps it was this particular weekend, but public transportation was less accessible than I expected. That being said, I still had an excellent experience at Michael’s place. I highly recommend for a traveler looking for an affordable and clean accommodation.

  • Micheal is a really dope guy, he’s always been quick with the responses and gives you space when you need it. Everything in the bathroom is clean and so is the room, he’s easy to talk to, talks to you more like a brother than a guest and will go above and beyond to satisfy your needs. Deff booking here again

Really close from train station and easily accessible by car. Ken offered us a private parking space but we had free parking in the street right in front of the house . He also gave us good advices about Boston and was there for us at any time to answer our questions. I would reccommend !! Thanks Ken :)

  • I’m really happy I stayed here. I am slowly settling into living and working in Boston and have needed to stay in an AirBnB temporarily because of its affordability and flexibility. This was alot better than I had expected because of how exceptionally pleasant, clean, safe, and beautiful the house is. I’m usually pretty spartan about what I need to live in but this place is genuinely inviting and warm.

    Alicia2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • My main concern was being safe while I was in the city and I felt extremely safe at Natalias! The lock on the bedroom door, and the way you accessed the front door added to that. Place was clean, quiet and the bed and pillows were TOO COMFY! Her idea for the bathroom was a nice touch and the other guests respected the time schedule on the white board. Enjoyed my stay so much and will definitely stay again anytime I’m in the city. Thank you Natalia for your hospitality in the heart of one of my favorite neighborhoods in Boston.

  • Comfortable and spacious - located just a few blocks from the train station. Jim was kind and helped carry our luggage up the stairs to the third floor apartment. We used the kitchen to make coffee/breakfast each morning - so that was really nice to have. It is a little ways out from the touristy city center, but very convenient on the Red Line. We had to avoid a rowdy group of teens our first night, but otherwise quiet and safe.

  • My boyfriend and I spent a few days in Boston for a getaway, and we were so thankful to have a place like this, close to the T but out of the way of the city noise. Jim’s place was beautiful, quiet, and fully equipped apartment (though we really only used the bedroom and bathroom). The tea and coffee was a nice touch. We enjoyed our stay and appreciate Jim’s hospitality!

  • This place is clean and warm. The host is friendly and helpful. She responds very quickly when you have questions, and can recommend you some very nice places to eat.

  • Great place to stay for a trip to Boston! While it was a shared toilet, we did not have any issues with it. Location was around 5 mins+ from the T and is pretty convenient! Natalia was fast in replying and the check-in and checkout process was simple :) highly recommended!

It is less than a half mile walk to either the Field's Corner or Ashmont station on the Red Line.

  • Beautiful house. Perfect hosts. Great stay. My husband and I stayed for a few nights while we were attending an event for our son in the Boston area. Everything was super great. There was easy access to get in when we arrived. It was nice having coffee, water and snacks available. The room worked out great for us and the owners were perfect hosts - excellent communication and availability. Great location in a quiet neighborhood where we felt very safe. We would definitely stay here again when in the Boston area.

  • By far the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at ! Forget staying at any hotel when you can get the chance to stay at Minter & Richters ! A beautiful home , where you are welcomed as one of there own. The term superhost still underrates the two Hosts! Absolutely amazing to stay there. It’s located in Dorchester which is great to get to anywhere in Boston. They are very helpful & will show you everything you need to know. A kick-ass gym & just beautiful rooms make this Airbnb a must visit if you can get a chance to stay at this place! A solid 10 out of 10.

  • Polly and her husband are fantastic hosts and provide a space that feels both cozy and professional (well steeped in the B&B tradition!). The home feels tranquil and welcoming...people coming from outside of Boston are lucky to land here! The back room had enough space for me to practice yoga in the morning and I enjoyed using the gym a couple of times. Snacks, water and other beverages in the kitchen made my transition back to the house easier, as I didn’t grocery shop while there (though I could have). Thanks again, Polly!

  • Polly’s house is just a delight to stay at. We had never been to Boston and staying here while we designed rings was a treat. Not to mention the homemade breakfast treats to go along (muffins and coffee cake)! Public transportation is easy to take too and from. I’d recommend an unlimited pass if you’re going into town a lot. Anyway! We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend staying here!

  • This was our second stay with Polly. We enjoyed our stay once again. It is a clean home and it was nice to be able to cook some of our meals in. The bus stop was a 2 min walk and took us to the train station and we were able to get around town very well with the Boston transportation. We even walked to the train station a couple of days. It was our first experience of sharing common area but we enjoyed visiting with the other guest while we were there and it was not awkward at all. I also really enjoyed the gym in the basement! I highly recommend staying at Molly’s Airbnb.
