  • Caboose was an amazing place to stay. It was a little cottage that was actually very big. The gardens were beautiful and the view incredible. It was the perfect location for me to take pre wedding photographs with my bridesmaids. The place was clean with all the amenities. The communication was easy, clear and friendly. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Jeff.

  • Caboose was a great place to accommodate our 5 adults and two kids. The four bedrooms were ideal with two full en-suite bathrooms and another main bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped and the eating areas were bright and sunny. Lovely views all, around and especially the front balcony. Short drive to town but felt like you were in the middle of the Bush.

  • Fantastic sums it up. A touch of the old and new in one location but all presented to the same high standard. Sitting on the deck in the evening light and listening to the numerous birds has to be experienced. Great location to explore Daylesford and it's surrounds.

  • This is not a fancy place but we loved it - lots of sweet touches and it suited us down to the ground. It is surrounded by nature, so quiet, so close to town, perfect for a real getaway. View while bathing was just divine.!!

  • We had such a wonderful weekend stay at this property. Was perfect for 9 of us and it had everything we needed. The surrounds and view is spectacular and was wonderful to relax and enjoy time on the outdoor verandah. It is a big property so plenty of room for us all and it didn't feel cramped- it was just right. Jeff was a pleasure to deal with also and we would all highly recommend staying here and we will be returning again!

It’s close to town and all the attractions too. Check out Daylesford Lake, The Mill market & Lavendula garden. We would definitely come back & stay much longer next time.

  • Michael place is a 10/10 you can’t fault anything about this place. It’s like a home away from home. Super spacious and clean!

    Julie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place was exceptional and exceeded my expectations!! It was very clean and spacious, with all necessary amenities. A little bonus was his puppy Teddy who was very welcoming and open to rubs.

    Jenny2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, great equipment, place felt like new. Would happily stay again.

    Christian2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our little family loved everything about this place, it was super easy, car park out the front, the house was perfectly clean, had nice touches with Bread Mil Yogurt Cereals and other little things already there. Beautiful inside, nice and modern, really couldn't find any fault with it

    Reece2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We booked a 3-night stay at Michael & Cheryl's place and were more than happy with our trip! The property is exactly as it looks in the listing photos - homey, comfortable, and filled with thoughtful touches throughout. Two things in particular stood out to us: the convenience/variety of the breakfast foods that were provided, and how hot the shower was. We also really appreciated how immaculate the unit was. Every inch of it was sparkling clean! Whenever we bumped into Michael on our way in or out, he was always really friendly and ready to help with whatever requests we had (though given how well-presented the unit is, we had none). We can't recommend this place enough and will be very happy to book a stay again if we're ever in the area. P.S. Teddy the dog was a lovely surprise! He deserves all the best scratches.

    Jo2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean with great breakfast options. Fabulous value and super close to the freeway to get you where you need to be (slightly noisy at times if windows were open but we didn't mind). Lovely gardens as well.

This traditional bed and breakfast combines the age old beauty of a Victorian home with modern amenities such as reverse cycle heating and cooling. It offers 2 spacious rooms with a private entrance in the centre of town.A quiet and restful home with views over looking the Lerderderg Gorge.
Blackwood itself is full of wonderful things to do both for able bodied people and those with more limited mobility. Karen is able to offer suggestions for activities and assist with any transport/booking enquiries.
  • In light of the CV crisis we were delighted to be greeted with a packet of Ajax disinfectant wipes! Karen did everything to make sure the space was tip top for our little family. She had a great collection of entertaining & intelligent DVDs so we could get away from all the media madness occupying our minds at this time. We made the mostof the coffee machine, the ample breakfast provisions kept us satisfied, the beautiful views & the other natural delights (like the visiting troop of kangaroos) soothed our weary souls. Karen filled us in on the local hot spots . Our superhost clearly loves where she lives & loves sharing that with visitors. Her passion for India is reflected in the decor (without being over the top) - but it has that lovely Victorian country house feel too. Our child loved the homely feel of the place too & loved being there. Karen also gave us advice on where to eat, shop & get even more coffee. :) Good tips! The location is perfect (not far from Melbourne) & the town has great amenities for a delightful weekend away. We especially enjoyed the local pub - good, reasonably priced food for a range of budgets. Thanks Karen for giving us a great weekend & helping us make some special memories.

  • Ruby my dog and I very much enjoyed having Karen's place as a base to explore the region. It was great to sit in the alcove to the bedroom in the evening sun and take in the view across the gardens to the gum tree covered hills. Or watch the kangaroos in the adjacent fields on our morning walks. Karen was a friendly and very helpful host and the space had a lot of thoughtful touches including a yummy continental breakfast. One of the tailored hats from Karen's millinery shop has come home with me as a momento of a wonderful long weekend.

    Ian2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay, very comfortable accomodation. Karen is a wonderful host and provided us with an excellent breakfast. Also a great location in Blackwood. Definitely recommend.

    Rob2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous hospitality and so accomodating and friendly. Karen welcomed our pooch and had heaps of local knowledge to help us enjoy our stay.

    De-Arne2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was very friendly, hospitable and prompt with her response. The check in process was very easy and the room was comfortable. There was a lot of care and effort put into the decoration, and it would have been nice to enjoy the little study/ relaxation nook overlooking the mountain, had I arrived earlier! Karen’s place would be perfect for a country style weekend hideaway, away from the modern world distractions.

    Tse Min2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures are a good reflection of the space. It's directly opposite the pub. Karen was lovely, and made me feel welcome, despite me turning up from cycling wet and muddy :)

    Jill2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little B&B in Blackwood. Karen was a great host, giving tips on the local food options and cheffing up a lovely breakfast.

    Robert2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say? Karen has been the most outstanding host and we never even got to meet her. In a very unfortunate event, we did not even get to stay at her house. The minute we arrived, there was a bushfire alert a kilometre up the road and we decided not to stay, given the horrendous time Australia is having with bushfires. We only got to step inside the gorgeous little house for about 5 minutes...and in that time and we’re gobsmacked by it’s old world beauty. I was very upset we could not stay. There were lovely little personal touches everywhere and the most gorgeous view. A beautiful breakfast had been prepared and laid out for us too. Karen has been wonderfully understanding about the situation.. and also accommodating and friendly...we can’t recommend her highly enough. We are definitely coming back to stay here. It’s heaven on earth.

  • Carinya of Blackwood is such a wonderful place to stay as a couple, a family or just with friends. We did a 25k walk from the property into the state park and back. We enjoyed the space at home and the wifi worked well if needed. We had a great communication and it was only a few minutes walk to the cafe down the street. Amazing stay and thanks for hosting us!

  • This is a beautiful old and updated home set amongst a lovely little town, over looking a state forest. The house is huge and with many lovely and comfortable touches. We thoroughly enjoy our stay at Carinya. The hosts were very accommodating. We would happily return.

  • Carinya is a lovely house in a lovely spot. The photos don't really do it justice. It is simple, but has everything you need. The deck is big and has a wonderful view over the forested hills. Great place to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Or watch a storm roll in - an experience I enjoyed! Sandy is a really helpful host. She responded to messages straight away and was easy to contact by phone. Blackwood is great for walking. Just head off along any road and follow your inclinations. Birdlife, forest and quirky homes tucked away around every corner.

  • The perfect little cabin to hole up in over an autumnal weekend, the Potting Shed provided everything we needed — and more. Yes, it’s a gorgeous space but Sandy and Rob also went above and beyond in their hospitality with all the delicious goodies and treats. So many gorgeous, thoughtful touches that didn’t go astray. We also loved wandering in the potager garden and rose paddock, listening to the resident cockatoos and kookaburras. Super cosy bed with an abundance of pillows — can’t believe I fell asleep for an afternoon nap, even after having a coffee! Thank you for creating the most gorgeous space to recharge and relax.

So many thoughtful, generous, luxurious touches that make you feel so welcome and at home the moment you walk in the door. Such a gorgeous, private, charming abode. Access and communication is effortless. Can't recommend it highly enough!

  • My friend and I had the most charming stay in Trentham. The hospitality was amazing. This was the kind of stay that will make for special memories. We had planned a special stay ourselves as a celebratory 30th birthday and 12 years of friendship - sandy rob and the team made it all the more so. Perfect place to enjoy dinner in the garden, open a bottle of sparkling, cosy up by the fire and drink tea in the morning sun. We were even invited to enjoy the roses at the farm. Very special and beautiful place. Not much was open in the town due to early week stay.. but we were vey happy to make ourselves at home at the property! Thank you again!!

  • Fantastic little escape walking distance to shops and restaurants in Trentham. Would definitely stay again.

  • A beautiful and relaxing space set in a private kitchen garden. The Potting Shed has been decorated with so much thought with lots of charming touches - flowers, food, wine, beautiful bedding and so much more. Furry friends are welcome in this part of the property too. Location is fantastic with just a short stroll into Trentham village. Can highly recommend - one of thr best Airbnb experiences I’ve had.

    Karen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Potting Shed is a great place full of rustic charm! There were lots of thoughtful touches and treats. Location-wise, we were a short stroll away from Trentham’s main strip. The hosts were very communicative, helpful and friendly. Thanks a lot for a fantastic stay!

Musk House is a tastefully decorated 1 bedroom cottage with an en-suite bathroom. The open planned living/dining/ kitchen area is spacious with views out to the garden. There is also a day bed in the sun room, perfect for an afternoon snooze or for an extra guest. There is no extra charge if you bring your own linen but If you want the 2nd bathroom made available & have the daybed made up with linen then an extra charge of $75 will apply.
While the buzz of Daylesford is only a 7 minute drive away, here at Musk House is another world of peace and solitude. A stroll through the garden reveals a myriad of wonderful plants and a babbling creek that flows all year round. The day bed in the sunroom is a treasured spot for relaxing with a book or an afternoon siesta. Even from inside the cottage, by the warmth of the wood fire or the coolness of the air conditioner with a favourite CD playing, the garden still envelops you with its tranquil ambiance. There is a full kitchen with everything you need to self cater. Tea, coffee & milk is supplied & there is a Nespresso coffee machine with Urban Brew biodegradable pods for your stay. Cooking oil, salt and pepper can also be found in the pantry. There is a flat screen TV & a DVD player with a stack of DVDs provided for your enjoyment. (Please return discs to their correct case so future guests can also enjoy them) In the bedroom you will find a queen size bed and an ensuite bathroom. Sorry but there is only a shower as we are on tank water out here in the country and filling a bath would be contradictory to good water management practices. I do hope you understand. Musk House is also pet friendly so feel to have your fur baby accompany you on your country escape. I do ask that your well behaved pet is not left inside the house unsupervised. The courtyard garden accessed via the back door or the French doors from the sun room, is fully fenced. Pets are not permitted on the furniture or the bed. Please clean up after your dog in the garden. Enjoy a body massage in Daylesford, but experience a massage of the soul at Musk House.
I love that Musk is a delightful little farming community located a short drive out of Daylesford. There are numerous attractions located in Musk such as Passing Clouds winery & Istra small goods farm- who sell products direct to the public at a great price.
  • We loved our stay at Martin’s place! It’s just a short drive from Daylesford town centre but the atmosphere in the house and garden was so lovely and cosy we could have happily stayed there the whole time. Especially loved the well-equipped kitchen! We would definitely book again, looks like the place would be great in Winter too. Thanks Martin!

  • Martin’s place was the perfect countryside getaway. Super clean, cosy and relaxing. Booked last minute and when we arrived there was some relaxing music playing on the TV, which felt very welcoming. There is a fireplace, a sunroom (that gets warm and cosy) and the kitchen has all the crockery and cooking basics you could want. If you can’t quite keep the fire going, the split system provides great heating. Some lovely fresh breakfast items were left for us, which was a nice touch. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The place was immaculately clean, and provided the perfect stay. I look forward to staying here again next time. :)

Later on in the gold rush days Barry's Reef grew in size and at one stage had six hotels. Our cosy cottage has its own private entrance & sits in a secluded garden with views to the old barn. The living/dining room, kitchenette (No oven/cooktop), bedroom & bathroom make an ideal getaway for couples. Set on a few acres, the property backs onto a treed river area. It has chickens & friendly alpacas to visit, but it's a mere 5 minute walk into town. Ballan is the perfect base from which to explore Daylesford, Trentham, Blackwood, Creswick & Ballarat, all are within a 30 minute drive.
Westcott dates back to the mid 1860’s, but while the rustic charm and history of the building can be seen and felt at every turn, the interior has been lovingly renovated to add modern day creature comforts. The accommodation is set up in the original cottage of the house, built in 1865. Although semi detached, it is separated from the main house by the original, exterior stone walls of the cottage, making it exceptionally quiet. The cottage has its own entrance and sits in a pretty & private garden with views to the old barn. Situated on four acres on the outskirts of Ballan, the property backs onto the meandering Werribee River. The river valley is a quick, easy walk and here you’ll often discover wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies and an array of birdlife. Listen out for the kookaburras and keep an eye out for the occasional eagle hunting for prey. It’s equally close to the centre of town, just a 500m stroll away to cafes, supermarket, op shops and pubs. Our family consists of Buddy our beautiful Border Collie & Pablo the rooster with his harem of girls, who are happy to provide eggs for your breakfast. Our four alpacas - Charlie Brown, Jeff, Betty and Svetlana, all come running when they see visiting guests bearing gifts of apples or carrots :) Feel free to visit them anytime! None of these family members have any access to your private space! It’s all yours.
Ballan is a charming, peaceful country town which is especially picturesque as the autumn leaves change colour. The Autumn Festival held in late March gets bigger and better each year! There are cafes, pubs, op shops and markets to visit as you wander around. Ballan is also home to Mill Rose Quilting Shop & gallery, well known by those with a passion for quilting. There's also an Art Gallery run by a local Sculptor and his Artist wife. For the sports minded there’s a lovely golf course set along the Werribee river, which runs the entire way through the town, the excellent polo field of the Yaloak Polo Club and great fishing at Bostock and Moorabool Reservoirs, which are also perfect for barbecues and a walk by the water. Around Ballan there are several mineral springs to visit and many bushwalking areas to explore. It’s also the gateway to the Daylesford spa mecca, but a somewhat quieter option for accommodation. In less than 30 minutes, you can drive to Daylesford, Ballarat, Trentham, Creswick or Blackwood. Alternatively explore the Werribee and Lerderderg Gorges and The Brisbane Ranges. For those with a green thumb there are many outstanding nurseries in the area. Blackwood has two of the best, Blackwood Ridge Nursery & Café and The Garden of St Erth, both well worth a visit. Also the stunning Lambley Nursery the other side of Ballarat is a must. This area, particularly Gordon through to Daylesford, is fast becoming very well known for its truffle farms and during the colder months there are many truffle adventures and feasts to enjoy, but you will need to book early. The temperatures may not be so inviting, but the truffles are incredible. We also have an information folder in the cottage to help you plan your getaway.
  • Vicki’s place was the perfect, cosy retreat. Highlights included arriving to a lovely hand written note, feeding the alpacas on the estate and enjoying plunger coffee in the garden.

    Karlee2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki’s place is beautifully decorated and she has created a welcoming and homely place to stay. She had eggs and produce from the garden for us and the alpacas. The bed was snug and comforting, and the heating had us speedily warm despite the chilly winds from outside. Highly recommended and we would definitely go back. Thanks Vicki!

    Lea2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, host was super friendly and helpful. The place was cute and had great amenities. Lovely place for a few day getaway.

    Jenelle2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is perfect for a weekend away. About 5 minutes walk from the shops but still gives off gorgeous country cottage vibes, with the chickens and alpacas around the corner. The garden is stunning to have a cup of tea or glass of wine in after a long day exploring the local areas. Close to plenty of good hiking spots and country towns. Stayed for 3 nights and wasn't missing anything, though the kitchen appliances are limited, it works easily for 2 people. And the space is homely, clean and the perfect size to not feel crowded. Would go back in a heartbeat!

    Aleksandra2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and quaint. Really enjoyed our stay and feeding the alpacad

    Logan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful stay at Vicki’s place. The property was spotless and the amenities were excellent. It was great fun feeding the alpacas and we really appreciated the fresh bread and eggs from Vicki’s own chickens! Vicki’s communication was excellent and check in was a breeze. • We spent a weekend at Pam’s place. The reviews were glowing and we were not disappointed. Great personal touches, like leaving plenty of kindling and firewood, blankets and other elements that helped us, as were with a baby. The place would suit a small family as a base for an exploration of the area. With public health considerations we spent a lot of the time at the cottage, and it was ideal for that - a warm & cosy oasis from everything.

    Andrew2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • No wonder Pam is a Super Host. Her Cottage is amazing, clean and everything was just great. We will definitely come back. Thanks Pam for letting us spend these days at your place.

  • Absolutely beautiful cottage tucked away from the hustle and bustle yet so close to town. Pam was a fabulous host the cottage had everything we needed and more along with a beautiful wood fire. I would definitely recommend to family and friends, when back in the area I would stay again.

    Gemma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific property with a huge secure yard and just (literally) out of town, which was perfect for privacy but not a pain to have to drive more than 3min each way. Pam was responsive to messages, very helpful with suggestions and a few little requirements I asked for. I live on a farm but this was probably even more relaxing and secluded. Will definately visit again.

  • Chestnut Farm Cottage is a beautifully appointed little cottage set in magnificent gardens amongst rolling farmland - and all just a few minutes drive from Daylesford itself. Pam is a wonderful host - very friendly communications, lots of local tips, and very thoughtful touches awaiting us on our arrival. The cottage is decorated beautifully in a country chic style. It has two very stylish comfortable bedrooms, a spacious lounge, a small but well appointed kitchen and a large modern bathroom, and a lovely veranda to sit with your morning coffee and listen to the bird life and the nearby farm animals. It’s the perfect spot for a few days relaxing and enjoying the area around Daylesford.

    Liz2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Simply wonderful spot. Amazing location for walks and close to the town centre. Great little cottage, very cosy. We felt very at peace there and really enjoyed our stay.

  • Thank you Pam for such a beautiful oasis. We loved our stay here and would come back in a heart beat. The place was nicely styled, we appreciated the time spent in setting up the space, especially all of your recommendations. The house has everything needed for a week/weekend getaway. The grounds are tranquil, we enjoyed having a cuppa out the front and went out the back to say hello to the alpacas. Thank you!

Very clean and large house with a huge cupboard full of games, toys and activities for the children to keep them busy while we enjoyed the large deck looking out into the trees. We absolutely loved our time here. Caroline was very helpful and lovely to communicate with. Highly recommended 😊

  • A beautiful and homely feel. Conducive to absolute relaxation and being “off the grid”. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Hannah2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline is so understanding and was more than helpful when our plans changed.

    Pascale2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very spacious for 10 people and a dog. Two spacious living rooms, a large and open kitchen are furnished just enough, not overcrowding it. The pantry and fridge are supplied with plenty of necessities but good varieties. The only down side of this house is the internet reception which is pretty much none (Telstra one bar, on and off). If you want a peace and quiet, putting technology aside, then this is the one but the house is supplied with plenty of books , DVDs and games and you can bring yourown games to hook into the TV. 30-45 minutes to Daylesford and 1 hr to Bendigo. I would keep this house on my list when I need a time off from the hectic life in Melbourne. Thanks Caroline for all the detailed information on your booklet. They are all so accurate and helpful. Cheers.

  • Very peaceful and charming cottage with no traffic noise and the local pub was welcoming with friendly staff and excellent value. The cottage is clean, well equipped, cozy and the thoughtful touches make the difference.

  • Our night away at Lea's historic and truly unique doll's house was such a delight! The location set within the lerderderg forrest and thoughtful touches of having the comforts of home such as eggs, juice and fresh bread for breakfast made this Airbnb stand out from all the others I have visited. A must stay if searching for a place to be amongst nature and enjoy the sights and sounds of bird life and many kangaroos!

    Maryclare2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best Airbnb places we’ve stayed at! I read a similar review before our stay and they were right! It’s spotlessly clean, highly functional, tastefully furnished, quiet, beyond comfortable and we almost didn’t want to share it with the world. Highly recommend this property!

    Peter2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Not saying this lightly, but it was probably the best airbnb I've stayed in....set in a stunning area and such beautiful cottage with every amenity you can think of and more. So many extra touches that made it a great escape from the city

    Geraint2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dolls House is a beautiful property set in a really beautiful location. It’s peaceful and picturesque and you may even get to see the odd kangaroo around the place like we did!

  • Lea and John's place is a calm and quiet gem in the beautiful forests surrounding Blackwood. We really enjoyed our stay. The lovely breakfast they left for us was a delicious and thoughtful add on. Definitely worth visiting.

  • Really lovely, peaceful and quiet. The view over the valley was amazing. To gaze across the fields and see the wildlife was very special. Great facilities- we had everything we needed. Near to the town- Woodend. Ate at the local pub. Vic hotel on the owner recommendation. The best rack of pork ribs we’ve ever eaten. I’d recommend booking a table as the place was packed- we got the last table. Being able to bring our dog was such a bonus. The morning walks were really great. Thanks again- it was everything as described and so much more. We’ll definitely be booking again.

Lumella is an architect-designed getaway for guests looking for a private and peaceful rural escape only nine minutes from Daylesford and fifteen minutes to Trentham.
Located on Dolphins Hill on the border of Musk and Bullarto, Lumella sits on 20 acres atop the Great Dividing Range. Commanding panoramic views as far as the eye can see down through the valleys to the headwaters of the Werribee, Campaspe and Loddon rivers that surround the area. The view provides an ever-changing living canvas, breathtaking throughout each season. During the winter months, while the fire is roaring the surrounding hills can be covered in snow, whilst in Summer, hay bales dot the landscape and the large deck is a beautiful place to relax and take in the view. The building was designed by Antony Martin (MRTN Architects) His clever design feels spacious, despite the small footprint. It has a balanced symmetry and from above the footprint looks like a star. The design captures the stunning views through the large picture box windows. The interiors have been beautifully put together by Jessica Nixon from Okologi, she has sourced products and artwork from Koskela, Castle, Globewest, Shelley Panton, Oblica, L&M Home, and Heatherley Design to name a few to create a one-off and special hideaway. The bathroom with a free-standing bath is a feature and guests are treated to Aesop Skin Care and luxurious towels. This is a property you can prepare for a long weekend and decide to stay in, cook, dream and laze away the days watching the ever-changing view through the window. Or make the most of the proximity to Daylesford and Trentham and book a special lunch or dinner at one of the region's famous restaurants. You can then retreat to Lumella with dessert and a nightcap beside the fire. Those who particularly enjoy bush walks will love the idea of the walking tracks and access to the Wombat State Forest right outside your door. Fine design, nature, simplicity and a little bit of pampering far away from it all, but close enough to the region's top destinations, what more could you possibly want? Please note: Stays of longer than 2 nights are available. Contact us to enquire.

Lovely cosy converted train carriage from 1914. The carriage is big enough for two guests with a queen size bed and bathroom with toilet and shower. The carriage is nestled at the back of the property amongst the trees and garden. You will have direct access to the carriage as you just need to come down the driveway.
The carriage is situated at the back of the garden filled property. We live in a small miners cottage at the front.
Ballan is a small country town with lovely walks and bushland around. There are a few cafes and shops as well as local bakery and IGA for all the things you need.

*Due to the coronavirus, our cleaner is taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. We have self check in via lock box and heaps of toilet roll!* The Studio is a modern self-contained space ideal for a single traveller or couple, located just a 5 minute walk from Trentham. It’s situated opposite our home surrounded by the gardens of our ¾ acre property.
The Studio has an open plan living/sleeping space with separate bathroom with powerful shower! You’ll find towels, hairdryer, hand soap and shower gel provided. The kitchenette is well equipped for simple meal preparation (fridge with small freezer component, single induction portable cooktop, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, coffee plunger, chopping boards, crockery & cutlery). You'll find basic pantry supplies (tea/coffee/oil/salt & pepper), and we also provide some simple breakfast provisions for your first morning so you can enjoy a relaxing start to your stay. The sleeping area contains a queen size bed with a fluffy down doona, memory foam and foam pillows to cater for your preference. A coat stand provides some hanging space and bedside units add storage. The living area is bright and cosy and has a 2-seater sofa and ottoman. Amazon Alexa supplies international radio stations and will play any music requested! There's no reception for terrestrial TV however there's a 42 inch smart TV with NETFLIX and internet access (via the NBN), which should provide all the entertainment you need. The living area also has a small dining table with two chairs (additional chairs can be provided if required). The split system heating/air conditioning unit will make sure your stay is comfortable in any season. We can also provide additional wool blankets for our lovely chilly Trentham winter evenings. Tourist information leaflets and brochures are provided, containing all the local knowledge you need to get the most out of your stay. We love eating out and immersing ourselves in local outdoor pursuits and are more than happy to share our local recommendations. We're lucky to be surrounded by an array of local wildlife. Kangaroos often graze in our neighbouring field, and you may wake to the sounds of Kookaburras and Cockatoos.
The Studio is only a 5-minute walk from the historic village of Trentham but quietly tucked away on the doorstep of the Wombat State Forest. Trentham is a quaint village retaining many historical buildings and a charming streetscape. Trentham’s soil is famous for growing some of the country’s best spuds along with other seasonal produce. From chestnuts and cherries, to heirloom fruits and olives, there isn’t much that won’t flourish in this rich volcanic dirt. It's not surprising that whilst the picturesque main street is not large, it boasts some of Central Victoria’s most exciting foodie destinations. Du Fermier, Trentham General, The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Red Beard Bakery to name a few! For convenience, you’ll also find an IGA supermarket, fresh produce store and chemist amongst the boutiques and galleries that Trentham has to offer. To work up an appetite, or work off the previous days indulgences, a trip would not be complete without a visit to Trentham Falls, Victoria’s highest single-drop waterfall. Truly spectacular when in full flight, you can find yourself wandering paths through beautiful old trees, enjoying a picnic with the crescendo of water in your ears or simply enjoy the sounds of native wildlife. If you’re up for a more energetic adventure, the region boasts some of the best forest tracks that can be enjoyed on foot on bike or even horseback. At our doorstep is the Wombat State Forest and within a 2-minute walk, you can access the Wombat Trail, a beautiful 7km guided walk through the township and surrounding fauna. One of our other favourite walks is the picturesque Domino Trail, which begins at the old Trentham Railway Station and ends at the Radio Springs Hotel in nearby Lyonville. What better place to reward those weary legs with some amazing pub food. We might even be able to offer a shuttle service back to Trentham should their wine menu be too tempting! We love our little part of the world and hope you do too.

this is very much a typical cabin in the woods, not fancy. We are at the end of the court, which backs on to Wombat and Lerderderg national park. The Tassie barrel is easy to light, and keeps the cabin super warm. All the bedrooms come off the main area, so always warm. Dirt bikes can be ridden straight out of the property into the forest. It is a family cabin, so lots of of board games and books etc. It is just a short walk into Blackwood town, 10 mins from Trentham and 25 from Daylesford.
You have uninterrupted views of the forest from every room. It
The Blackwood pub is amazing, only 10 min walk from the cabin.Blackwood mineral springs, a really trendy café/ delicatessen. Blackwood cemetery would have to be one of the prettiest in Victoria. And there is still gold in them hills. We have not yet found any, but road workers found a massive nugget in the middle of town a few years ago.
  • Amazing location, right in the bush and feels totally secluded. The house is simple but clean and has everything you need and a ton of character. We loved it and we'll definitely be back again.

However, we recognise that some people have a genuine need for medium-term temporary alternative accommodation. If you are interested in booking the cottage, please send an enquiry explaining your situation. Please note that the cottage is not suitable for anyone in quarantine, anyone who has been instructed to self-isolate, or anyone who has any symptoms such as fever or a dry cough. There is a secure fenced garden and pets are also welcome inside the cottage. The long west-facing deck has outdoor seating and a gas barbecue. There is ample on-site parking available.

  • Bidwell is a great place to stay, near the lake and the central springs but also easy walking distance to the main street. The Mill markets are super close and you could spend a day there easily, including at the great cafe. The cottage is cute and cosy with a lovely wood burning stove, games, music and lots of information on the local area. We especially liked the local walks leaflets! Thank you Anthony and Andrew for a great time.

Although we didn't meet in person, she went above and beyond our expectations for making our stay the best by calling me to welcome us and ensure we were ok, she even provided seeds to feed to various birds that come to visit and had the fire prepared for us! Blackwood is such a beautiful little town with extremely friendly people. We would happily go back again!

Famous for its mineral spring water and iconic heritage buildings, Hepburn Springs is an enchanting and historically rich destination located just three minutes from Daylesford. Originally known as Spring Creek, the village was later renamed as Hepburn Springs after Captain John Hepburn, an early settler in the region. In the early 1850s, alluvial gold was found around the township drawing thousands of immigrants, particularly Swiss Italians. This Swiss Italian heritage is honoured every year at the annual Swiss Italian Festa and all year round visitors can taste the effervescent mineral water the town is most famous for at the historic Mineral Springs Reserve where a number of hand pumps dotted around the parkland dispense mineral water free of charge. Only 3 minutes from Daylesford, Hepburn Springs is also home to some of the best day spas in the region offering mineral water bathing and luxurious treatments. A place to relax and rejuvenate!

Two bedroom fully functioning, child friendly, pet friendly bush cabin with beautiful wildlife and plenty to do.
Two bedroom house close to walking tracks and dirtbike tracks, bushland, wildlife and country pub. Award winning restaurant 10 minutes away in Myrniong. Fully functioning kitchen, master bedroom queen bed, second bedroom single bed, set up as a child's bedroom. Living area with wood fire, split system air conditioning/heating, dining table, high chair. Bathroom, shower and seperate toilet. 3 acres of land with trampoline, cubby house, sand pit. Two enclosed dog runs, 2 large kennels.
    Safe, residential street, friendly neighbours.
  • My partner and I used Beth's house as a place to land when we moved to Victoria with our 2 dogs. We ended up finding the place to be so comfortable and convenient we extended our stay for an additional week and would have extended further if we had the choice. Full size kitchen that is fully stocked, fireplace with firewood, comfortable bed, phone reception in the area is OK with Telstra. The dog run is about 50 meters from the house and our dogs were never able to get out. With the front gate to the driveway closed our dogs could happily run around the entire property.

  • Beths place is a lovely wooden cabin in a quiet rural Aussie outback paradise. We had a kangaroo in our garden! The cabin was cosy and clean and everything we needed for a weekend getaway with the pets, thanks!

    Jackie2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, quiet get away with plenty of wild life and bird life around. The wood fire makes this a cozy little cabin in the winter.

    Leanne2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, nice and private, very cosy with the wood heater. Child friendly and nice to have resident kookaburras and kangaroos for the kids to witness

  • We had a relaxing and tranquil time away at Beth's place. A very peaceful setting in a beautiful area. The place was as described. Thanks Beth.

  • Nice quiet place, very flexible and kind host.

    Bianca2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Secluded but not far off from Bacchus Marsh (20 minute drive), which has a range of orchards, cafes, and shopping. The local family pub is only a 3 minute drive, or there is a walking path if you choose. The house itself contains everything you need (especially toys for small children). My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay.

This suite is classy yet down to earth, interesting, comfortable, and arty, with nice views. You feel like you are away from it all, with sounds of kookaburras, or just quiet. Imagine sinking into the amazing corner spa bath, and then wearing a soft robe , with a drink of wine on the house, either indoors or at your outdoor table, enjoying a view of the nearby nature and wildlife, within walking distance to restaurants, general store and Bath House
This is a modern house, built to take advantage of the location. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the town. You enter off the deck which is high up (there are about 12 steps). The suite has its own separate entrance off the deck, with a large sliding door. There is a queen size bed and a sofa bed. There is a kitchenette with a jug, a sandwich maker/toaster, a fridge, a microwave oven, cups, glasses, cutlery, tea and coffee, and a tea pot. Muesli and milk are provided. A cooked breakfast may be available by advance notice. The suite faces South and East, so it is light but does not get the really hot sun. There is an evaporative cooler and a high speed fan for those rare hot evenings, and you can leave the door open for ventilation, it is secluded and safe. The suite is suitable for a single, a couple or a couple of friends who may want to share a room but want to sleep separately, as there is a sofa bed. It is also suitable for a family with one or two young children.
The house is situated at the edge of the forest, facing north east. There are birds like magpies, kookaburras, etc. and kangaroos visit the house. There are three pine trees on the property, as well as eucalyptus trees, and two poplar trees. The air is fresh and one can see many stars in the sky at night.
  • A comfortable cosy stay. Easily accessible.

    Kat2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • If waking up in a warm (electric blanket) donned bed, gazing out at the trees, listening to the birds tweet and fly past and spotting a kangaroo or two sounds perfect - this is the place for you! The spa is big and luxurious, and little touches such as head cushions for the spa, toiletries and tea/coffee/muesli make the stay special. The suite is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Diana is a fantastic host and easy to get in touch with if there are any questions during your stay.

    Annie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Di is a great communicative host who was very considerate since we had to change our dates. The location, spa and place is very comforting. A relaxed place for a relaxed weekend.

  • Amazing

    Taylor2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dianna is very hospitable and the home is very peaceful. We saw kangaroos in the early morning.

    Jennifer2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Lovely waking up in the bush to the animals, spa was perfection. Overall I rate the experience

    Jess2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely bush setting close to everything, Diana was a great host. Highly recommend her place for a weekend getaway!

    Emmanuel2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • It's a lovely cosy place, just overlooking the bushes. You could take a walk to the springs. It feels like a treehouse spa :) Diana is a very friendly host, she kept a bunch of toys for my daughter and offered to keep it! Absolutely loved our stay. Sadly we were there only for one day. Will plan a longer visit next time. The only issue is that kitchenette is very small so a bit tricky to heat/serve food or wash dishes.

This Japanese inspired timber home has floor to ceiling walls of glass in the living/ dining area. The view of the enclosed garden area as well as the rear garden adds to the ambience of this retreat for two. tasteful simplicity and quality with a difference.
While the buzz of Daylesford is barely a few minutes drive, here at Musk Creek Hollow is another world of peace and solitude. A stroll through the garden reveals a myriad of wonderful plants and a babbling creek that flows all year round. An over sized garden chair is a treasured spot for relaxing with a book, accompanied by foraging birds. The flat screen TV has a built in DVD player and there is a stack of DVDs in the drawers for your enjoyment. Musk Creek Hollow is also pet friendly so feel to have your fur baby accompany you on your country escape. I do ask that your well behaved pet is not left inside the cabin unsupervised. The enclosed courtyard garden is fully fenced. Pets are not permitted on the furniture or the bed. Please clean up after your dog in the garden. Enjoy a body massage in Daylesford, but experience a massage of the soul at Musk Creek Hollow.
Musk is a small farming community with potatoes, sheep and cattle being the predominant choice of farming but there are also olive groves and boutique wineries in the area. Passing Clouds winery is just around the corner, as is Istra small goods farm which sells all their products direct to the public.
  • Beautiful place to getaway. Nice and cosy inside and fairytale like outside.

    Joe2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Martin for a perfectly cosy stay. Love the floor to ceiling windows that look out into the garden. Walking distance to one of the best wineries in the area, Passing Clouds (take the shortcut down Church Lane). Wish we could say we used the pantry items left so thoughtfully for us, but too many good places to eat and drink so maybe next time!

  • Wonderful host, beautiful space and great location

    Nathan2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Musk Creek Hollow is simply beautiful. Martin is a perfect host and has thought of everything. The cottage is super clean and comfortable. Lovely thoughtful touches. The views out of the living room windows is stunning. Great secure small yard for the dogs. Look forward to returning.

  • Beautifully thought out space - floor to ceiling windows that make you feel like you're amongst the trees. This is a perfect place for a zen getaway.

    Helena2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • After having to re-book our accommodation/ holiday the night before, Martin was very quick to reply and very accommodating. The house is well equipped with beautiful decor! Lots of small touches that makes it extra special. The house is located just 10 mins from the Daylesford town centre, making a perfect place to stay away from the noise while still being super close. Highly recommend visiting passing clouds which is located right next door to the home, there is also a cider bar around the corner. Highly recommend staying staying here, my partner and I had a lovely get away!

    Keldi2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely delightful cottage in a lovely setting. Many thoughtful touches such as beautiful floral arrangements, hearty breakfast provisions. and lots of local information on places to go. The location is really only a couple of minutes drive from Daylesford and after staying there, I would prefer to stay outside the town in this lovely bush setting. Check in and out was very uncomplicated. We had a wonderful stay - thanks Martin!

Sivani Sun Room A beautiful sun filled bedroom fully furnished with lounge suite, a computer and work desk, perfect for a single traveller or shared by a pair. A wholesome breakfast and usual amenities are provided.
A message from a regular visitor: As a close and old friend of Karen's, I honestly have to say that the sun room is my favourite room of the Sivani Guest house! While the main BnB room gets all the attention for its recent renovation and beautiful styling, the spacious sun room has the feel of a large studio room with plenty of private space with a single bed or two, comfortable sofas and arm chairs to relax on, a writing desk and computer with internet access if you need to work away. It's on a split level from the rest of the house so it will feel like your own space, homely and lived in, filled with house plants and an overflowing bookcase. Karen's two lovely border collies can settle in beside you or leave you be if you prefer. Take a book and a cushion out to the wrap-around deck and into the garden with forest valley views or on a rainy day light up the fireplace and snuggle up inside. Run a bath in the tub next door or have a quick shower to freshen up before a lovely night at the Blackwood Hotel across the road, or enjoy a regionally sourced menu at the Merhcant Cafe. The guesthouse is centrally situated in this welcoming town, and long and short walks in both the Lerderderg Forest and Wombat State Forest are easily accessible from the house to explore the forests and streams that surrounds you. Its my home away from home and I'm sure you will love it too! If you are new to the area, Karen is a wonderful host and can suggest plenty of activities to make the most of local and neighbouring attractions
  • This is the second time I have stayed with Karen. She is a warm and generous host. I would gladly recommend her and the Sivani Sun Room to other guests.

  • A beautiful cozy retreat from city life. I arrived the day that the cold weather set in and the fire was already lit, the room warm and inviting. Karen and the boys were lovely and welcoming. I would recommend Karen's place to anyone wanting a comfortable and affordable stay in beautiful Blackwood.

    Felicity2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place in Blackwood is in a great location, right in the main street. The bed is comfy and it has a lovely view out the large window. The breakfast provisions were very generous too. I hope to come back another time and explore the area some more.

Beautiful property in Bullarto with simple older-style stone house. Our house has all the amenities you’ll need including a kitchen, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a lounge and dining area. The property is 20 acres of mixed landscaped gardens and bush. You are welcome to walk around the property, including to the gorgeous small lake. Surrounded by gorgeous mature European trees, the lake has a cute little island and can be enjoyed with a canoe and kayaks.
Please note there is no TV. We do have internet (wifi).
Bullarto is ten minutes to Daylesford with its cafes, restaurants, bathhouse, live music at the Palais, botanic gardens, lake, Lavendar farm, chocolate mill and apple cidery (in Musk). In the Melbourne direction and also ten minutes away is Trentham, another gorgeous little town with cafes and galleries and lovely monthly farmer’s market on the second Saturday of the month. Lots to do!
  • Really lively home, in the beautiful forest. We wanted a get away from the city and this is perfect. Lovely hosts and very easy communication - thank you!

  • What a beautiful place my 5yo son loved it ! Chickens greeted us in the morning and the wood fire heating was perfect. Thanks

    David2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to unwind. The house is an older simple house but with a good size functional kitchen, a wood heater that warms the entire house and great views off the back deck. Resident chooks cluck around the garden, there is a beautiful lake and loads of land to explore. Walk further enough past the lake and there is a little running brook. No TV which was perfect. Wifi is available though. Bullarto is high altitude so can get pretty cold so take jackets for a walk or to watch the stars which are very much clearer than in the city! A wonderful place to stay in the country!

    Amanda2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a beautiful location, with lots of space and even a small lake. Inside the house everything is set up for a very comfortable stay, there is a fireplace that keeps the house nice and warm on a cold day. Will definitely be back.
