This hexagon hut is situated on its own on land that is half orchard half woodland, 5 Km from Westport. It gives a nice view over the natural environment with wild life and low key farming. A few goats and a few hens roam in the adjoining field.
The hexagon shaped cabin has decking on both sides to enjoy morning sun as well as evening sun. On the morning sun side, where the door is, the decking leads to the little bathroom building. The cuckoo is around from the end of April until the end of May. The Owenwee river with salmon and trout runs on about 200 Meter distance. Westport town is on 5 Km distance. Clew bay 2 Km . Nearest beach 7 Km. There is a nice and safe place to park the car at the bottom of the path leading to the cabin. Guests are free to roam the one third of an acre around the hut. There are beautiful walks around without having to use the car. One of the few native woods left is only 1,5 Km away. From 1 April till 1 October I don't take bookings for less than 3 nights Just for help if needed The neighbourhood of this place is extremely friendly and there is a big sense of community here. Public transport, busses and trains, is available in Westport. There is a safe opportunity to cycle to town. Westport town has great entertainment possibilities. Lots of traditional music, also good blue grass and jazz. Many coffee shops and restaurants and indeed a great choice of very interesting and unique shops.
The neighbourhood of this place is extremely friendly and there is a big sense of community here.
  • The perfect stay! If you are looking at this accommodation and reading reviews wondering if you should book, wonder no more! This place is perfect! Calm, clean, quiet, tranquil, relaxing and romantic.. everything you could ever want. My husband, dog and I stayed for 3 nights and we were all devastated when it was time to go. The attention to detail was incredible, Irma thinks of everything to make you feel welcome.. Fresh eggs , butter and bread greeted us on arrival along with a stove burning away.. it was amazing, so incredibly cosy. We went for long walks locally and spent time enjoying the surrounding. When I left Irmas perfect little hide away I felt more relaxed than I have in years. I hope to be back again soon.

  • Irma's place is fantastic! Loved the cozy vibes and nice local walks. Beautiful bridge and river just 5 minutes from the home. Thank you so much for a great stay!

  • Oh my gosh this was the most incredible Airbnb experience! Irma’s treehouse is in a great location that’s about 10 minutes from town but in a tucked away part of the country so you can have your privacy. The treehouse is surrounded by the most incredible view of the countryside and irmas little farm. Every morning was so lovely waking up and seeing an amazing view. The treehouse was so cute and had a bunch of quaint touches that made the experience one of a kind. When we arrived we were welcomed by the best soda bread we’ve ever had as well as fresh fruit. irma even made a point to have the wood burning oven on before we got there so we had a toasty place to rest after a long day of travel. On top of this place being an incredible place to stay, Irma was also an amazing host! She’s so quick to respond to messages, but more importantly she is warm and generous. I left my scarf at the treehouse and Irma immediately messaged me and offered to send it back to me in the states. She went above and beyond to make our stay amazing and we will totally be coming back again!

  • Lovely place and Irma is a fantastic host! We were unlucky with the weather and as a result we had issues with the water supply. These were out of Irma's control and she did her best to keep us updated. Taxi ride into town but not a walkable distance. Lovely touches including fresh bread, milk and eggs. Stove was already lit on arrival and she left us with a plentiful supply of peat briquettes. Thanks Irma

    Conor2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience & fab host! Thank you Irma! A much needed peaceful retreat!

    Niamh2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Irma is such an incredible host, the place is everything you can hope for a retreat location and it will instantly feel like a home. We will definitely come back soon enough for another staycation!

    Samuel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Irma's place offers a great opportunity to unwind in a peaceful setting. The stove was lit for our arrival and wheaten bread was waiting on the side, which created a very warm and welcoming feel. While most sites do take a bit of driving, Croagh Patrick and Westport are both just 10 minutes away by car. Reaching the bathroom does require stepping outside for a brief moment, but given the wooded surroundings this was not a bad thing for us.

  • Lovely, comfortable, clean and well-equipped accommodation. We only stayed for 3 days but a longer stay would have been possible because we felt so good there. The only negative point would be that the accommodation is a bit isolated but for us, it was rather a positive point because it was very relaxing and the place is so beautiful. A magnificent view filled us during the whole stay! Walking tours possible from the accommodation and very close to the sea and beaches. In addition Carmel is helpful, available and friendly.

It was immaculately clean and cosy and Patricia had thought of so many lovely little touches like a care package full of things we might have forgotten and leaving cold bottles of water for us. She took the time to meet us and gave us a lift to town on both evenings. We will definitely be back to stay in the future as Patrica is a wonderful host. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable😊

We were greated with a lovely basket with all the necessary essentials. Carmel was very marm, friendly and accommodating. With our plans changing daily due to the Covid_19 Coronavirus restrictions , she was very understanding. Her dog Bella was a delight we all enjoyed playing with her. We would recommend her cottage and would definitely come and stay again.

The place was clean, had lots of amenities, and the wood stove at the end of the day was a nice touch. Make sure to throw the ball for Bella! She is a super friendly pup!

An Tigín- a small but perfectly formed wooden cabin in the grounds of Old Rectory Retreat.Your writing desk looks through glass doors to its' cottage garden by the stream. It has full kitchen facilities. Living and sleeping areas are semi-separated.
The Tigín was added to Old Rectory Retreat a few years ago to facilitate writers, artists and anyone looking for her/his/their own intimate space in which to work, inspire themselves, relax or use as a base to explore the countryside for whatever reason. The Tigín is set among trees on the banks of a stream. It's a cottage style wooden cabin with its own garden surrounded by a picket fence. The natural world around is lush and beautiful. You may catch a glimpse of miniature horses or rambling hens in the adjoining field. The cottage has a surprisingly spacious feel. The interior was lovingly designed and built with great attention to detail, by my amazing sister and her husband in between writing and sewing stints. They know how to make the very most of small spaces. You will have full kitchen facilities and a tiny but beautiful shower room. Sleeping and living areas are partially divided by full length presses. The bed can be single or double sized to suit an individual or couple. The cabin has been used in the past mainly by writers but also by artists who wanted to sketch or draw and by musicians writing songs. Also many people have wanted to stay just to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The all important writers desk looks out through large french windows which are south facing or you can take your work outside and listen more closely to the gurgle of the stream.
The surrounding area is a warren of lovely country walks on roads which don't have very much traffic (and on which cars cannot travel very fast anyway!) This makes it ideal for writers who need to refresh their batteries before sitting with laptop or paper again. I can give you maps and guidelines. A little further afield and you reach Croagh Patrick, our holy mountain and a coastline on which there is a beach every few miles. You can head for Leenane, the Killary and Connemara, our back garden. Cycling is very popular especially the Greenway to Achill and bikes can be hired from Westport Town. We are situated just 3 miles from Westport with all its’ tourist amenities, art and craft shops and music most nights of the week.
  • Perfect, just like the last time.

    John2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Just the kindest people, a perfect Irish welcome. Rósín is there when you need her, but also gives you the space and privacy you need as well. The cabin is very cute, and cozy even when it rains and blusters outside. There is an especially beautiful walk just out the door and I was allowed to borrow the dog for company which made it even better. Westport is of course a lovely town with anything you might need.

    Andrea2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a super time in the cabin! Very cosy and surrounded by nature , yet close to Westport town . Roisin was an attentive host who responded very quickly with all our queries. Happy to recommend the old rectory !

    Joanie2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The hotel is stunning from the exterior and has a homeliness to it inside. The staff and management run it in a very communal way with free scones and Prosecco helping to get guests together in one space and create a great atmosphere. They took a picture of us at dinner one night and printed it off as a free gift. Little things like that make all the difference and we loved the vibe they try to create in their space. The location is ideal if you are trying to move around different parts of Connemara. The only small complaint I’d have is the shower we had was not powerful at all and we had to use the bath hose which was inconvenient

The cottage is lovely and clean and Helen had everything there for us that we needed! We stayed as a family and couldn't have asked for more. We also really enjoyed having our dog with us too. This is a perfect place if you want some peace and quiet. But also a great base for exploring Mayo.

  • Aine was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived giving us lots of tips for things to see and places to visit. She had even lit the log burner for us so it was cosy and warm. The cottage was in a good location close to town and we enjoyed seeing the wonderful countryside out and about and getting to visit some of the local bars to hear some traditional Irish music.

    Hannah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Aibnb is extremely well located inside Clifden, and you will find everything you will need. Although it might be cold during winter time, the place has nice amenities. Aine even got us tea/coffee/breakfast. She is extremely nice and will give you loads of tips about what to do in case you run out of idea. Finally, the place was ever so clean. I’d definitely stay there again if I were to come to Connemara again.

  • We had a lovely stay at Kate's Cottage. It's in a beautiful, quiet, rural location and just minutes from Clifden. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and warm - the fire was lit prior to our arrival which made for a true warm welcome. The home has everything you would need, everything is thought of. Aine is the perfect host. She kindly gave us a lift into Clifden and pointed out some great recommendations, Guy's for dinner and Lowry's for drinks and music after. We would be delighted to stay in Kate's Cottage the next time we visit Clifden!

The house is on an acre of private property in the heart of County Mayo in the west of Ireland. The views from the front of the house are of Lough Carra, a 4,000 acre lake famous for it's fishing and diverse wildlife.
The property is on the site of what was originally a boathouse for a country estate built in 1786. The boathouse still stands to the rear of the property. The house itself was built in 1968 by my grandfather, a keen fisherman, as a holiday home. When my grandfather passed away my father started renting the house mainly to fishermen, he even had a boat hire business that he ran from the old boathouse. The house looks south onto Lough Carra, a 4,000 acre lake. We have decking outside the house and garden furniture to relax on and enjoy the serenity. There is almost an acre of private property for guests to roam around in and a large lawn to relax or picnic on. We have an open fire which is the primary source of heating in the living room. The internet is quick and there is a strong mobile phone signal from the house. We have a few board games, playing cards and a vintage Rubix cube to while away the evenings by the fire. Many guests park their cars, close the gate and don't leave the property for a week.
  • We loved our stay at Moorehall. Patrick was a great host. It is like a beautiful little sanctuary away from the busy world. A true gem of a place in beautiful Mayo. We will definitely be back!

    Deirdre2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • You won't find a more amazing location than Patrick's place it's simply stunning. The peace and the quiet are second to none and it's so beautiful. If you're looking to get away from it all and enjoy nature then you won't find better. The accommodation had everything you could need and we really enjoyed our stay, I can't recommend it enough.

    Laura2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Believe all the reviews, this spot really is as lovely as everyone says. Set in its own private grounds, right on the lake, this is an ideal getaway for, well, anyone looking to get away! Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with good weather during my stay, but I still spent plenty of time out on the deck watching the lake and the many different inhabitants. I saw frogs, a swan family, starlings, moorhens, robins, magpies and, on my final morning, a grey heron, all up close (the frog sat in my hand!) . Completely unspoilt and with great woodland/ forest walks nearby in Moorehall. A really special place to stay. Bring all your own food and have a completely off-the-grid self-catering break. Also ideal for dark-sky watching- absolutely zero light pollution on a lake in a forest around 25 mins drive from any towns! Again, unfortunately, the weather didn't allow for much of this during my stay but I had just as good a time sat by the fire with the wind and rain beating down outside. Felt very safe here, despite being near nothing or no one. Really wish I'd had just one more day! For entertainment, Ballinrobe is a lively town with everything you could need (including a massive Tesco's for stocking up!) on an easy route around 25 mins drive away. Claremorris is roughly the same distance in another direction, lots of good places to eat and friendly people and independent shops. The cottage is simply a delightful place to zone out and enjoy wildlife. Absolutely delightful accommodation, a real find

    Lesley2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick’s place was one of the most beautiful place where we have been. Right in front of the lake where you can do fishing and very quiet environment so you can sleep very well. He responded very quickly every time we had a question. If you wanna stay outside of city to look for a good calmness, this place offers you what you look for...

    Mami2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredible place, very quiet and peaceful! A perfect spot to get away and relax a bit. Will absolutely be staying here again in the future.

    Will2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • A tranquil place to sit, be still and watch the world go by. This is a perfect hideaway or retreat for 1 or 2 with walks and nature right on the doorstep and a fire to spend the evening by. Wonderful

    Michael2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely the place to go if you want to get away from it all. Was peaceful and relaxing. We spent most of our days sitting taking in the wonderful view which constantly changes with the light and weather. There was plenty of wildlife - a mink, the swan family, ducks, a coot, dragonflies, frogs, a heron, kingfisher (all seen on or around the jetty at the front of the house) and at dusk you can watch the bats and murmuration of starlings along the front of the house. Every morning I went for a walk around the garden to see what new mushrooms had come up overnight. Moorehall is at the back of the house on the other side of the road, lovely place for a forest walk. The house was better than expected as I had expected a glorified boathouse / shed and it was surprisingly cosy and warm. For a small space it is well decorated/designed with plenty of storage. The kitchen is more than adequate and has a lovely wooden worktop. The bed was very comfortable and has an electric blanket if needed. The house is a good base for exploring Mayo & Galway. We visited Kylemore Abbey, Clifden, Cong, Galway, Westport, Newport, Achill Island and Castlebar. Claremorris and Ballinrobe are both nearby for shopping or if you want to eat out. We visited The Old Arch in Claremorris a couple of times and the sunday lunch was really good. If we ever visit the area again we would stay here - excellent value for money.

Located on The Town Square our newly renovated studio dating back to 1838 enjoys a southerly aspect and direct access to a private terraced patio with BBQ and original stone steps lead to the garden which has great views of Clifden Harbour. On our doorstep there are many bars, restaurants and shops. This apt is a real home from home where one can cook in the kitchen and sit by our solid fuel stove. We have a cast iron bath and an overhead electric shower where one can soak after a days touring
The location is superb. The Studio is just a short stroll from all the pubs, restaurants and shops in town. Clifden, situated on the Wild Atlantic way has much to offer.

  • Sinead's place is right at the centre of Clifden and very convenient for a couple. It is a very cozy studio with all basic amenities that you could possibly need. Supervalu is less than a minute's walk and very nice pubs are just around the corner.

    Fergal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice studio, right in the city center (all pubs / restaurants within easy reach). Possibility of making a fire in the stove by buying the fuel (even if we did not take advantage of it) We did not see Sinead, but the indications were very clear, and the booklet it leaves to the tenants, gives all the necessary recommendations for what to eat / drink / visit in the corners. We recommend !

    Nicolas2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sinead’s studio is a lovely little retreat and is very well equipped for both a short or long stay. It is perfectly located with a great choice of pubs and restaurants. Sinead is a great host and Clifden is a very friendly place, both Tom Kings pub and the restaurant ‘Off the square’ deserve a special mention. I would not hesitate to recommend and hope to return soon.

  • Williams cottage sits in one of the most beautiful spots you could imagine. Once the sun shines, you get the best views ever! Sitting in front of the fire in this wonderful rustic cottage was just perfect for relaxing. Thanks to William we had an unforgettable time, we will definitley come back to walk, hike and enjoy the landscape!

    Yannik2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • William is a wonderful host, responding quickly to questions and requests. He is a great resource of knowledge about things to do in the area and appreciates and enjoys the natural beauty of the mountain adjacent to the property and parks beyond. The renovated barn is rustic but comfortable and is a great retreat for the solo traveler; although it could also be the perfect place for a couple to spend some quality time together.

    Theodore2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and a cozy space.

    Maggie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn was exactly what I expected to find and the perfect spot for my solo-retreat. It was cozy and in the perfect location to go on hikes on the hills behind. William was very attentive in case I needed anything and gave me a tour of Connemara that included all the important spots.

    Cathy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • What can I even say, there are no words to describe the feeling we had when we arrived at William's place. It feels as if the cottage is located on the edge of the world, hidden behind the beautiful mountains of Connemara. The Air BnB itself was wonderful, it's your very own hobbit house in the middle of nowhere. The fireplace was ready to burn, and William made sure to give us some great recommendations, like eating a seafood chowder at John J. Burke's Bar & Restaurant (MUST TRY!). Don't forget to just relax and take in the breathtaking views of Connemara, while hiking or just driving around. Would highly recommend!

  • Cosy retreat. Beautiful stove. Homely and comfortable. Perfect escape.

  • This is a beautiful house in a fantastic location. Theresa and Austin live close by but the house is private and you are undisturbed. The little touches make the difference...our names on the slate.... Wheaten bread and chocolates and the coffee machine and toiletries and a fire. Spotless and cosy and a fantastic stay.

    Deborah2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The beautiful cottage is a credit to the owners. It's exactly like it says, a beautiful retreat.

    Joe2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This place is incredible and exactly what we hope for! A little cosy gem just outside Westport! Theresa is so friendly and thoughtful! The little fireplace is just amazing!!!! Cannot recommend this place enough!

    Enelge2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Theresa - such a gem! The roaring fire in the wood-burning stove on arrival was as welcome as it was unexpected and the antidote to the imminent arrival of Storm Ciara. That combined with all the small touches (scones, tea-lights, personal note of welcome) meant that we felt so welcome. Cottage is just a 10 minute ride from the town but you feel so much in the countryside. Taxi-driver found us easily (€10 single fare) and so you could enjoy Westport as well. The perfect venue for a bit of rest and relaxation.

    John2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Theresa. The cottage is wonderfully homey and soo quiet. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and Theresa welcomed us with some delicous surprises. We would love to come back.

  • What a magical week at Rory and Triona’s secluded hideaway. Set on the shores of Lough Fee, surrounded by the beautiful Connemara mountains, the cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing week away. Triona was always available to answer any questions, and there was no shortage of turf and firewood to keep the cosy stove burning. We can’t wait to book our next week away at Kylemore Hideaway!

    Allan2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Trionas place was perfect for a relaxing weekend in one of the most beautiful spots in Ireland. Close enough to Letterfrack for groceries/restaurants and Leenane for a night at the pub, but also has a well equipped kitchen for just enjoying the quiet and eating in and enjoying the lovely fire. Tons of hiking all around you, beautiful scenery everywhere you look, and a very secluded and quiet property. Highly recommend and will certainly return. Clean, comfy bed, warm house and warm shower. TV and WiFi or just the views to keep you occupied. What more could you want?

    Kirsten2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully located. The backdrop is simply fantastic. Many nearby excursions. Super nice and helpful hosts. Very nice, cozy house. Bring slippers and weatherproof clothes, it can only be nice :)

  • Triona is such a wonderful host! We needed a ride from the bus stop to the cottage last minute. My husband and I called and she picked us up, showed us around the cottage and made sure we understood the heating system. We spent 5 days exploring around the property and the mountains near by. The cottage is clean, warm and comfortable. Very secluded. We loved it. Will be a forever cherished memory. Thank you for hosting us! Hope to visit again.

Juli's House is a self-contained, standalone house overlooking the sea. Surrounded by excellent coastal and hill walking terrain, it is also a 10 minute drive from the Wild Atlantic Way, the town of Westport and the Great Western Greenway. It is a bright, comfortable and contemporary home. The house is set in beautiful semi-wild gardens with views of Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain. With all modern facilities, it includes an outdoor patio and a barbeque area beside the sea.
Our house is great for couples or those looking for a secluded place to escape from it all. It has a large kitchen / living area, is fully equipped and has glorious views of Rosmoney Bay. There is a large bedroom also overlooking the sea. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and underfloor heating. The house has a full heating system plus a wood burning stove to cosy up to! Floors are french oak. Double doors open out from the living area to a sunny flagstone patio. There is a second outdoor sitting space at the back of the house looking directly at Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain.
Along with direct access to the seashore there are a series of trails around the coves and inlets of Clew Bay that are within walking distance of the house. We live in a very friendly neighbourhood with a boat club, pier and great viewing points also within minutes of the house.
  • A really great place. Perfect to escape with fantastic walks and the best views in Ireland. Highly recommended.

  • We spent a lovely few days in Juli's House and really enjoyed the nice setting and scenery around. Donal was a great host, very hospitable and helpful giving us lots of tips on local walks and sight seeings spots. We look forward to visiting again!

  • The stay at Juli’s House proved to be everything we had hoped for. Having stayed in numerous places in and around the West Coast this will be up there as a “Our favourite place” despite the weather!. Juli’s house is spotlessly clean , warm and cosy and is well equipped for a short stay. Donal is a superb host making us feel very welcome and the impression given was nothing would have been too much trouble. The scenery in and around the accommodation is spectacular, great walks, you will need a car to venture further out if you wish the nearest town being Westport which has great pubs and restaurants and shops however the place is ideal to just chill and unwind in the peace and quiet. The night skies are awesome. This really is a little peace of heaven and we will definitely be booking again at a later date. Siobhán and Steve

  • We spent 3 wonderful days in Julie's house and it was beautiful. The house is perfect for two people and has everything your heart desires. Enjoy a peaceful , quiet stay in our charming old dairy within a sympathetically restored old stone byre on our lovely equine farm in East Mayo. Original charm and a homely heritage feel with a unique global twist.Surrounded by lovely country side and walks along quiet boreens. Meet our friendly rescue horses and donkeys , and enjoy a scenic, relaxing rural experience . Knock airport just 15mins away. Provisions for a simple breakfast complimentary to start your day as you explore or rest.
This stay is an authentic Irish experience, a little off-grid with modern comforts. It is for a couple or solo guests . The Old Dairy is a traditional stone building over 400 yrs old. It is within the original byre where family and farm animals once all lived together. It is a heritage space not a new build and you will be in a rural environment so expect this to impact your stay and enjoy and embrace its difference, as we do. Warm clothing for cool nights is recommended. Your own WC/cloakroom is not ensuite but adjacent in the same building. Hot showers are taken in the main farm cottage close by. The dairy is peaceful , quiet, pleasant and spacious . There is comfortable seating, stove heater , a high sleeper bed with double and single above , toaster & kettle, plus TV monitor for playing a selection of supplied DVDs. Also books, games etc. We are happy to provide a packed lunch, with 24hrs notice, at a small charge. There are also bikes you may use to explore the local area Our farm is a lovely sanctuary for our rescue horses, ponies and donkeys . All revenue from the dairy helps us in our work. We specialise in rehabilitating abused equines and training the heavy working horse so both ourselves and our animal friends are always grateful for your visit.
Located in a peaceful nook between Swinford and Kilkelly we welcome you. Listen to the birds sing the day away and gaze at the stars in the beautiful Mayo dark skies. Watch our traditional cobs graze and play as they roam in a natural herd , make friends with the donkeys (carrots supplied) or maybe help collect our, truly, free range eggs.
  • This is a unique stay in a 400 year old dairy barn! If you like peace and quiet-this is a cute place. Kitchen available and there was plenty of food to eat! Be sure to put the code (letters and numbers) in your google maps as it is out in the country!

  • Cannot say enough how much I enjoyed staying here! Definitely the experience I was looking for! Livvi was so hospitable and accommodating! If you’re looking for something off the beaten path where you can relax with nature and enjoy peace and quiet than this is the place.

    Christina2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best Airbnb I ever stayed at. Livvi was an extremely gracious and generous host, and overlooked no details in ensuring our stay was comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed her stories and conversations. Her farm is beautiful and her rescue animals are amazing creatures, especially the donkeys! Staying in the countryside was a great experience, and Livvi provides this location at prices comparable to what one would find in a hostel. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a little different experience from a traditional hotel, hostel, or Airbnb and is looking for warm hospitality!

    Ashwin2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Livvi was a perfect host. The barn is well equipped and has many lovely touches. Livvi took our daughter to feed the donkeys and ponies and was very kind and gentle with her. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

    Sinéad2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Livvi is a wonderful person who cares for her guests and is very communicative. Although the farm is located near the airport you are surrounded by nature. So it is a great place to calm down and enjoy the farm life and spend some time with the cute animals. In the cozy house there is everything you need. Even though it can get cold at night you can make yourself comfortable with blankets and a stove fire. We loved it! Thanks a lot, Livvi.

    Mona2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great apartment, spacious, clean and well-equipped. The hosts are very hospitable. I recommend!

  • This was the best Airbnb we’ve been to! Livvi was a wonderful host; very thoughtful and welcoming. The old dairy was very cozy with everything you need for a nice stay. The dogs and the donkeys were lovely. This was a perfect stop on our drive along the coast. Wish we stayed longer, don’t hesitate to book here as we are already planning on coming back! Thanks again Livvi!!

  • Super nice landlady! We felt so well that we did not want to continue. The dogs donkey and horses I immediately closed in the heart. It is very warm inside, the bed comfortable. Breakfast is very good. In the evening you can cuddle up in the armchairs, listen to the rain and watch Dvd. We come back 100%!

  • A wonderful stay! An honest farm cottage with many very nice touches (flowers, slippers, heated mattress pad, eggs, milk, butter, cereal, jam) and a roaring fire, but not glamorous or fancy. And the view is gorgeous! Breege and her husband had great suggestions for sights and food and were delightful to visit with. It was all we had hoped for. Excellent communication with Breege, as well, for questions.

  • This is such a magic place if you like a rural retreat in a cosy traditional home. Breege is a kind, welcoming and generous host who takes trouble to make sure her guests have all they need, and who can suggest plenty of local places to visit. We highly recommend her cottage - a great getaway! Thanks, Breege, Geoff and Dee

    Geoff2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • A car is essential if you wish to reside in this accommodation. Located a few kilometers from the city of Ballina, this address is really very pleasant, in the middle of a splendid nature. The accommodation has everything you need and even more. Breege is just amazing. Between her good humor, her precious advice and her great availability, we can only recommend spending a night or more in her accommodation, at least to be able to meet her! We recommend this accommodation without hesitation.

  • This is a cozy little place in an isolated area for those who love the peace and quiet. Aoife was an outstanding host who met us when we arrived and showed us everything. She had the firebox all stocked and ready for us to use and demonstrated how to use it if the night turned cool (it did). She had also left us a bowl of fruit and other snacks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Ted2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice and cozy stay at Aoife‘s. She welcomed us very warmly with a fire in the little stove and made sure we had everything we needed. She even supplied us with a bowl full of fruits. The garden house is sweet and we enjoyed staying there even in the rain. The view in the garden is very nice.

    Maxi2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay. The house is beautifully decorated, spacious, cosy and super clean. All mod cons were supplied. The home made bed is super comfy. Our toddler loved the garden it was fully equipped for a little boy to have lots of adventures. We did not want nor need to leave the space it has everything you need for a relaxing break. Aoife is a super host, very friendly and accommodating...

    Barbara2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The location itself is endearing while being useful, private and just honestly makes you feel at home. However what sets this spot apart is Aoife herself. She is the most thoughtful and generous host with considerate communication and providing all details that can make your stay in the area a superior one.

    Lori2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Aoife's place is very calm and peaceful, great base for visiting surrounding areas.

  • Located not far from Westport, this atypical and charming accommodation is ideally situated for visiting the city, the region and its surroundings. It is very well equipped and has everything you will need. We would even have spent a few more nights there, just to enjoy this place and in particular its large collection of DVDs and books. It is in these moments that we do not regret that it rains in Ireland! Mike is a lovely host. He took the time to welcome us late at night and it was a very nice meeting. We highly recommend this accommodation, probably one of the best nights of our lives!

  • My father and uncle stayed in Mike and Jayne's for 3 nights. They said the place was warm, cosy with full amenities. It is approx mid distance between Newport and Westport. They brought their bikes and got out to do a few routes. They said the location was perfect as a base. The value for money was fantastic too.

  • I would recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to travel to Ireland. Having travelled the lengths and breadths of Ireland and the UK writing my Top 100 Attractions series of books, I have seen the very best and worst of what Ireland has to offer. As far as I'm concerned, this accommodation is right up there with the very best! I was in Ireland on essential business and there are very few accommodation providers open. However, Patricia was very understanding and allowed my booking! 10 outta 10!

  • This is such a gem of a spot that I am reluctant to write about how good it is because I am worried it will become really busy! This was a small but perfect space with everything you need. The bed was really comfortable; the place was warm & dry, while a storm blew wildly outside. Patricia left soda bread, jam & coffee for us which was a lovely touch. The place was really spotlessly clean. It also has a comfy seating area, so its more than a room. the location is stunning. It also happens to be walking distance from a pub that does very good bar food. I will go back & bring my bike next time.

  • Ruth was so sweet and gave me lots of advice things to do in the area!

    Jera2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth is all about accommodating the needs of travelers. Guests always know who else is staying there, and when sharing a bathroom, that is very nice. Breakfast is cook-your-own, with a wonderful selection of artisan breads and other treats available. When Ruth found out that I was not able to enjoy the fresh-squeezed orange juice she provides daily (allergies to citrus) she insisted on buying apple juice as a substitute, to be sure my morning repast was not without some sort of juice! Highly recommended hospitality and the view of Croagh Patrick from my room is also worth mentioning. Very good value at this reasonable price.

  • Ruth is a fabulous host,I felt very welcome on arrival, great communication, room was lovely and location was very good, just over 10 minute walk into Westport town centre and less than 10 minutes to Quay and Harbour!! Welcome to the famous Abbeyglen Castle Hotel, located just a few minutes walk from Clifden town, known for its music, warm welcome and fine dining. We are excited to list our Economy rooms on AirBnB. As a guest of the hotel a full breakfast is included, access to all the facilities and we would love to see you for complimentary tea and scones between 3 and 5pm and complimentary champagne with a talk about the hotel and the area in our bar at 6.30pm.
This listing is for our small Economy Rooms which are ensuite. Please select number of guests carefully as there is an extra charge for 2 persons staying. The Abbeyglen Castle hotel is set on a beautiful hillside overlooking Clifden Bay. Just 5 minutes walk from Clifden town centre it has pride of place at the beginning of the famous Sky Road, a stunning scenic drive, cycle or walk in Connemara. To the front of the building we have beautiful gardens to peruse or get in a game of tennis on our hard court. Inside Abbeyglen Castle Hotel, we have a quiet drawing room, lobby and reception area, piano bar, snooker table, table tennis, fine dining restaurant and TV/Bar area. Don't forget to say hello to our famous African Grey Parrot, Froda! You'll find her in reception waiting to greet you when you arrive.
We are located 5 minutes walk from Clifden town, the capital town in Connemara. The Sky Road is one of the most famous scenic drives in Ireland. Clifden town is a busy town full of shops, pubs and restaurants and frequented regularly by hundred of thousands of visitors each year.
  • A must stop on your trip to Ireland. Abbeyglen Castle has a charm all its own made even more spectacular by the staff that is there to spoil you. Included in your stay is afternoon tea and biscuits along with a 6:30 champagne reception (more than one glass too!). Includes light appetizers while they tell you about the history of the place and what to do and see in Connemara county. The story telling is fantastic. After, you go up stairs to dinner for a delicious four courses (49 E.U. pp) or al la carte (based on menu prices). They take your picture during dinner and give that to you as a gift via their complements. It is not your normal hotel food. It is exquisitely paired. Good wine list. Highly recommend the fish chowder, beef or duck. Best ending is a table full of homemade deserts and cheeses. But the night is not over, back down to the bar for an interactive piano bar where you can sing the night away to Irish and top hit piano tunes. In the morning they have more like a brunch for breakfast with so many options to choose from included in your room price. The staff remembers who you are and if you are celebrating an event throughout your stay which is very nice. For groups they have a wonderful sitting room to enjoy. There are several fireplaces throughout. Enjoy a walking path, helicopters pads, and tennis court. The room itself is as pictured in an almost an “attic” or “dormer” area in the castle. There are stairs (one to two steps) up and down to it. It is a small room, but so quaint. The bed was the best bed we had in Ireland with wonderful sheets. The bathroom decent but the tub may be a challenge to climb in and out as they have a step stool and bars to help you. They include water (still and sparkling) along with all the amenities. There are plenty of towels and extras. It was a wonderful day/night here. Our only regret is we didn’t book for longer. A must on your list for Ireland. Next time we will stay a full two days to really enjoy!

    Aaron And Tricia2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brian upgraded us from the economy room to a regular room when he realized that we wouldn’t get any sleep right up the staircase due to a party downstairs. We were able to get a restful night’s sleep and to recover from an ankle injury. We participated in the afternoon and evening gatherings and learned about the Clifden area. The included breakfast was delicious and the staff was top notch. The hotel and grounds were immaculate and the surrounding area was breathtaking. I would stay here again without reservations.

    Leanne2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a highlight of our honeymoon! Drinks and live music at the bar in the evening was a wonderful end to our travels that day. Hopefully when we visit Ireland in the future we can stay for longer here.

    Gayle2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Smaller, cheap room in a four-star hotel that exudes grandeur. Very welcoming reception, library, afternoon tea with scones and later a glass of bubbles: you are an ordinary guest - only in the old driver's rooms. A bit noisy here and there, but otherwise: recommended!

    Ferdi2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible atmosphere in the castle . So warm and welcoming. The room is small but an enormously comfy bed, and delighted to see there was a bath. A very, very cosey stay

    Vicky2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The room is tiny but delightful and very tasteful. The shower was huge and exactly what I wanted. Do not miss an opportunity to stay in this enchanting castle.

    Peter2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was an extremely nice hotel with upscale furnishings and finishes. This room is one of the smallest rooms beneath the nicer rooms but still allows for guests to explore a beautiful castle and experience the amenities on a budget!
