  • Written by my fiancée: This is the best air b n b I’ve experienced to date. Very cute, even better than the photos. Every detail has been thought of. Extremely comfortable pillows. Everything seemed brand new and very clean. We appreciate the extra mile these hosts went: snacks and a smart TV- not overly cluttered. Very functional and even luxurious. We stayed here the night of our first full day as an engaged couple. We were not ready to go home and were so happy we booked this air b n b at the last minute. We arrived just in time to enjoy the beach bag with beach towels: We huddled up near the water which is right around the corner just in time to see an incredible sunset over the Boston skyline. It was unreal. We were sort of a mess and dehydrated and hungry because of all the excitement of the surprise proposal the night before. Justin was tired because he was nervous about proposing and couldn’t sleep the last couple nights. I was still in happy shock and we were just head in the clouds- so we were very much looking for a place to get a rest and recharge- read all the kind messages from our friends and family. We got that and more. I even got to do laundry- something I was thrilled about because the facilities were so nice and this was not the first leg of our trip. We feel like we found a lil oasis and are glad we decided to stay here. We’ll try to come back and we recommend it to others.

  • John and Arturo's space was very clean and well decorated. I loved the unique-ness of all the Winthrop decor! And they thought of pretty much everything! There was a beach chair and beach go bag with towels. Snacks. A space heater. Drinks. It was a great place to stay, would do it again.

    Selena2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place for our little staycation, we just wish that we were able to be here in the summer so that we could walk the beach (the location is spectacular being right behind the clam shop!!) (also btw the pictures don’t do this place justice, it’s quite spacious!!) There were many extra touches that we appreciated- if we needed something, it was there! This was not limited to snacks, condiments, bathroom supplies, games, etc. There were extra bedding and pillows and towels as well! My girlfriend and I appreciated the fact that we were able to control the temperature of the apartment and how quickly it heated up. Kasey was very responsive! The only things to be aware of are that there are blinds so if you are a light sleeper, the light seeps through so bring a mask and there are kiddos running around upstairs bright and early, so bring earplugs!

    Neeron2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you would like to explore Boston, this place will be the great place for you.

Cohasset is a coastal New England town close to Boston and less than an hour to Cape Cod. Rich in history with a charming village green and picturesque harbor with colorful lobster boats.
Complementary bicycles. Organic vegetables when in season. Super convenient to shopping, supermarket, coffee shops and restaurants.
Cohasset village is 1.5 miles away and features many retail shops and eating establishments. The town green is quintissential New England with a kettle hole pond surrounded by churches and colonial mansions overlooking picturesque Little Harbor. Sandy Beach is a local favorite of beach lovers and a drive along the gold coast of the South Shore (Jerusalem Road) is well worth the effort.
  • Great spot for a weekend wedding.

  • Our stay at Beechwood Cottage was just what we were hoping for! The location was perfect for us to visit my sister nearby and to partake in all the area has to offer! We hope to return as this little cottage has every comfort we’d need for a longer stay. The braiding kitchen and basement laundry are especially nice to have onsite. A wonderful stay! Thank you, Maddie and Kao!

    Coley2020-03-02T00:00:00Z

There are great resources nearby (grocery, CVS, food) and quaint town centers of Cohasset and Scituate very close by. If you have a small group, this cottage is ideal!

  • Lucia's chicken coop is an awesome little place. Very cozy and full of goodies. Her homemade Biscotti's are delicious. We had a storm come through during our stay and she kept us up to date with everything as we didn't know the area well.

    Dylan2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Based on prior reviews, we had high expectations and they were fully met! What a cozy little apartment, 'spic and span' with nice towels, sheets, etc. A very 'fresh' feel to it! Water in the fridge and the little package of delicious biscotti were very classy touches, above and beyond! Excellent location, so near the waterfront and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable for the two of us.

    Heather2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect Airbnb! Whether you're in town for an extended stay or just for a single night, it could not be a better place to stay. The location is great and it's easy to walk anywhere in town. We were in Cohasset for a wedding and were easily able to walk to and from the venue. The Airbnb itself was well taken care of and decorated very nicely. Not to mention, Sarah is a great host. She was great at communicating and making sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend staying here!

    Sam2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Adrian are wonderful hosts. This spot is our home away from home when visiting family in the area. Hope to stay here again next year.

    Maria2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was such a lovely host! The rental was clean and had everything my family needed for the weekend. The unit was a comfortable size with the full kitchen and bath, and the space felt very private, while still being in a fantastic location. We are so grateful to have found the perfect rental for our visit to Cohasset!

  • I cannot be enthusiastic enough about our stay with Joanne; everything was perfect. Joanne's garage apartment is ideally located and offers plenty of privacy. It is very spacious, and offers all the amenities of home; my husband and I joked (maybe half-joked) about asking Joanne what the monthly rent would be. We will one hundred percent plan to re-book with Joanne on future trips to Cohasset.

    Andrew2019-11-27T00:00:00Z

  • This is a quaint guest house in Cohasset close to town, shopping and restaurants. It is very spacious with a bedroom and bath on the second floor and another bath and living space on the main level. The location is quiet and very close to the train station if you want to avoid traffic and go into Boston. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The check in and out was seamless. My only regret was never meeting our hostess as we were away from the house most of our visit except to sleep!

  • We had never been to Massachuesetts and wanted to see some of the region in addition to spending time in Boston. Kao's place was the perfect location for all we had in mind. A car rental allowed us to visit several small villages while the conveniently located train station provided access to the city. The little house was cute, clean, and comfortable. It had everything we needed including a delightful host. Kao's sense of humor and knowledge of the area added to our enjoyment.

    Cynthia2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kao and his family have a lovely landscaped property in the upscale town of Cohasset, located a short drive away from numerous beaches and historic villages. We spent the week enjoying the beautiful weather and exploring the coast. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well equipped. There are numerous restaurants, supermarkets, and other stores nearby. Kao was a very friendly and gracious host.

    Robert2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place!

    Sara2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kao’s place was great! We loved staying in between Boston and Cape Cod with easy access to both. Kao was super helpful with recommendations and was very generous in sharing the vegetables in his garden!

    Ashley2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the most wonderful Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had! I was doing flowers for a friends wedding and Kao was kind enough to let us stay and use his beautiful space as a mini floral design studio for the weekend. We also received freshly smoked fish, pickled tomatoes, and lettuce from his garden for a delectable lunch. Everything was perfect and sparkling clean! We would absolutely love to stay here again. Thank you, Kao!

    Allison2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kao was an excellent host. He made us feel welcome. The house was spotless and there was more than enough room for two people. It had everything we needed including a full kitchen. In the future we will definitely stay at Kao's place again.

    Justin2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kao’s cottage was absolutely perfect, we couldn’t have asked for anything more!!! Just outside of Boston so it was nice to leave the busy city to peace and quiet! The cottage was immaculate, it had everything we needed! Having a washer and drier was amazing. Kao gave us awesome recommendations while we were traveling around the Boston area as well. Can’t say enough good!!! If you have the chance to stay at Kao’s, do it!!

    Rachel2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Kao's cottage surpassed our expectations... we arrived in the evening and the lights were turned on throughout the house for us, so we didn't have to enter a dark place trying to search for the lights. The interior was spacious and quite cozy, the bed was beyond comfy; we both slept great. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to prepare food and eat in. Kao stopped by the next day to introduce himself and gave us pointers on places to see based on what we were looking to do; he was gracious and welcoming, made you feel like you were family or old friends. His love for God which he was obvious in his mannerisms made the experience of staying in his cottage more memorable. We hope to be back that way soon and look forward to staying at Kao's place again, it is a great place to recharge your batteries...

  • This place is charming home which was perfect for our family time. Karen left us a partially stocked refrigerator for breakfast and all sorts of munchies!

  • Karen was so easy to work with. Great communication and a wonderful and charming home. Everything was perfect. Best experience that we have ever had with an Airbnb.

    Peggy2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's house was very cute, cozy and sparkling clean. We arrived to a a wonderful array of drinks and snacks. There was everything we needed for our stay!

  • Want a wonderfully comfortable get a way in Cape Cod? Then Spinnaker Run is the place for you and your family! From fresh paint to decor so quaint it is the quintessential New England beach cottage. Karen’s communication and preparation were unsurpassable and made our trip planning easy and our time there so pleasant. Even a winter getaway in this cute village of Situate was filled with good food and fun! The cottage was super clean, very comfortable and well stocked. In talking with our family who were staying nearby it was apparent that our accommodations at Spinnaker Run surpassed them all! Thank you Karen!

  • We grew up here, so this was home for us. The location is fantastic, the house is beautiful, and Karen is the perfect host! My whole family is really looking forward to coming back as soon as we can. FANTASTIC PLACE!!!

    Patrick2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Reading the amazing reviews about this home and host our expectations were really high to begin with, yet it was even better than all of that. Front he get go Karen was amazing to work with as we rented the home for my parents to comfortably spend some time in Scituate with their four grandsons. The home is adorable, clean, in a perfect location, and stocked with some killer snacks that made all four boys happy when they visited after school. We loved every moment and we will be renting this home again for family when they visit Scituate.

    Kyle2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay in Scituate! It was much more affordable than a hotel would have been and it was so much more comfortable/convenient than living out of a hotel room for a weekend. Light snacks were advertised as being available upon check in, but we found it to be above and beyond what we would have expected. Plenty of information on the local area and any question I had regarding "things to do" was quickly answered by our wonderful host Karen. Would definitely stay here again!

You haven't had a beach vacation until you've stayed in a house right on the beach. Enjoy having a large suite & third floor to yourself & sweeping ocean views on all sides. Enjoy two decks and a sandy beach. You can see Minot's Ledge Lighthouse blink it's famous 1-4-3 ("I love you") light sequence. This is an amazing location in a beautiful seaside town.
You'll be staying on the very top floor of a house built on pilings. This house is on the beach and there is sand on all sides. The third floor suite is spacious, bright and airy. The entire third floor and the staircase leading up to it is for your use only. You will have a queen bed, large closet, a sitting area and a TV. There is an efficiency kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and Brita water filter. Coffee, Tea, sugar, cream, some snacks, mugs, cups, plates, napkins and silverware, will be stocked for your arrival. Your bathroom is also sunny and bright and connected to a large walk-in closet. Where else can you stay and have gorgeous sunset views from a bathroom and closet! The shower is new & large-no wait for hot water. Bathroom towels, soap and shampoo are provided. This room usually has a breeze, but there is a ceiling fan if you need it. Every window has room darkening blinds and screens.
My neighborhood is a penninsula with the ocean and beach on one side and the marsh and Cohasset Harbor on the other side. One block away is a neighborhood of beautiful New England style homes and gardens. The public beach and rocks out front are a popular spot for the neighbors to have picnic family dinners. The neighborhood is a place where people come to walk, jog, or ride bikes. It's casual & friendly. In the summer there is often a drop-in yoga class on the beach, and paddling, boating and fishing activity offshore. We are just minutes from both Scituate and Cohasset Harbors. Both are scenic towns with active harbors and have many delicious restaurants and bars & terrific gift shops, art galleries, day spa's, yoga studio's, coffee shops. Scituate has a scenic lighthouse, a movie theater and bowling alley, a fishing charter fleet, and a public golf course.
  • Delia is an incredibly generous, thoughtful and gracious host. Her home is absolutely breathtaking. Our family had a wonderful stay on Minot Beach. It was a hard place to leave!

    Kathleen2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had an enchanting extended weekend at Delia’s place at Well Rock. The third floor room was spacious, well equipped and had a spectacular view. There was a large shower featuring a stationary and a hand-held shower head, both with good water pressure. We used the small fridge, microwave and coffee maker to prepare our own breakfast and lunches and ate dinner out most nights. However, one evening we opted for take-out and set up the provided folding table in front of the windows and had ocean front dining! Delia and her dog, Bruce were very welcoming and Delia provided many recommendations for dining and excursions. We accidentally left an item behind, and Delia kindly offered to ship it to us. You won’t want to miss staying at Well Rock Cottage!

    Lynn2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to stay right on the ocean, this is it. There are gorgeous views from your suite, and direct access out the door to the beach. The room was meticulously clean and comfortable. Delia was a welcoming, friendly host that we enjoyed chatting with and her dog, Bruce, was a pleasure as well. We will definitely stay here again if we are in this area.

Scituate is a beautiful seaside community on the South Shore. The rooms are in a separated and private part of my home including a private bath. Entry is through the dining room which is not available for the use of Airbnb guests (and isn't used when guests are here). I provide a selection of coffees, teas, sugar, sweeteners and cream. There is a Keurig, regular coffee maker, hot water kettle, microwave and refrigerator. In the bathroom, soap, shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer are provided.
There are many nice restaurants in Scituate and the neighboring towns of Cohasset and Hingham. There are several Trustees of Reservations properties nearby for walking as well as Wompatuck State Park. Scituate beaches require a resident sticker to park. Nantasket Beach in Hull, Brant Rock and Rexhame Beaches in Marshfield all have public parking for $10 or $15 per day.

    Edward2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible view out over the bay! Short walk to the beach, and a longer but reasonable one to "town". The house is charmingly quirky, and both hosts are so friendly.

    Teri2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with an incredible vue

    Gaelle2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The landlord and her son are very good, let us make lobster. Just have a dog, not quite like. The house has a certain vintage and the old lady is a painter. Overall it is still a good experience.

    桥灵2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Judeth is a wonderful if unconventional host. her home is full of artwork and some rather unusual tenants. We all got along fine. I enjoyed the dog that lived across the hall from me as well as the spectacular views of Boston Bay. The bed was super comfortable, the room equipped with everything I needed including a giant bottle of spring fed water. Though the bathroom was not private and down the hall, it was clean and even included amenities such as a hair dryer. Judeth went out of her way to include me in the household activities even going as far as preparing and serving me a tasty morning protein filled drink. I will certainly return if and when circumstances permit it.

    Glenda2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Judeth’s place is absolutely amazing. At most places, you get just a room but here you get a kind and knowledgeable host. The view is beautiful. Hull is a quaint seaside village. It’s the perfect place to get away for a weekend. I enjoyed my stay here and definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect to create family vacation memories or to just get away from it all with some of your closest friends. Dramatic pond views and back lawn lends itself to fun and relaxation -- sip your favorite drink on the lovely sunroom, while you take in the views of tranquil Musquashicut Pond, or try a game of Bocce, or join in to make smores on the firepit!
Note: This is the first summer this beautiful summer retreat becomes available on Airbnb. We look forward to hosting you and you sharing your wonderful experience with the airbnb community. Also please note there is a preference for weekly rentals, however, we will consider shorter stays on an exception basis...please send us an inquiry and we will respond quickly. Shorter stays are easy during the Fall, Winter and Spring. This vacation home is a great place for couples, families with kids, and groups of up to 14 guests . It is just an amazing place to get away. Back lawn area of home is ideal for intimate special events. Needs pre-clearance in writing and a special event fee will apply. Sorry, we cannot host events where guest count will exceed 40 people due to parking limitations. Launch our canoe from the back yard! Bring your floatables, kayaks and other water toys! The area is also wonderful and safe for bicycle riding, for both adults and children. If you have bikes, and you are driving to Scituate, we strongly recommend you bring your bikes. This will allow you to explore a couple of popular beaches in the area, such as Minot Beach. 1st Floor has 3 bedrooms, and one full bathroom. 2nd Floor- Please Note: The 2nd floor is a dormer style. So, if you are tall, you will likely be much more comfortable on the first floor! The second floor is absolutely fine if you are under 5'10". Kids love it!
This home is at the end of a very private cul de sac. It makes it ideal and as safe as it gets for children playing outdoors. This is a quiet, beach, family oriented neighborhood. Most people here know each other and are very pleasant and welcoming. Please say hello and be courteous and considerate at all times.
  • This was a "once in a life time" experience when our family of 20 stayed in two homes a block from one another for our weeklong vacation. We came from 5 states, and thirteen of the family quickly made the Pond House their own, with seven kids, 3 -1/2 to 12, settling in for card games at the table, tree climbing in yard, hide and seek, tag, coloring and quiet time on electronic devices. This was the place where most of our family meals were held, with counter space easily allowing for buffet line set-up. We accommodated 34 people for a breakfast brunch the first day when we invited local family members to join us. With little traffic on the street, it was easy to walk from one house to another for meals, or swim time at beach. While we didn't make use of the firepit (it was hot that week), we did use the chairs for sitting out in the yard--and had our Annual Talent Show out there. Local family members even commented what a beautiful setting Pond House had.

  • We loved our stay at Jennifer’s place! We had a very special reason for our week long stay: to celebrate our parents’ 50th wedding anniversary! The location is just stunning and great for walking to a beautiful beach. We took amazing walks as a family (of 9) every morning and I found myself saying “this is my favorite walk”- every walk we took. The house was all set up with gas in the grill, firewood for s’mores in the fire pit, many choices for beds, two full baths and an outside shower. The porch was great for morning coffee and post beach hangout the kitchen opens right up to the dining room. Just a few little things like curtain hangings and broken screens were our only real “issues”. Grocery store and kayaking just 2.5 miles from the house everything was very convenient. We would definitely go back!

  • Amazing location, wonderful home, helpful hosts! What's not to love?! We had a wonderful time at this lovely home, took advantage of the canoe and fire pit, enjoyed the clean and well-appointed home. Plenty of plates, utensils and glassware for guests; plenty of towels and bedding. We would definitely love to stay in this home again.

  • The location of the house is great, the little lake around is beautiful and relaxing. The neighborhood is very quiet. The house is functional, we were 13, only 2 bathrooms but we managed to get organized. The rooms above are more dormitory but that's enough. I recommend.

  • Amazing location with amazing views. Quiet and cozy for any size group of family. There is a train station close by and although it's isolated on a dead end between the salt pond and the ocean, it's not far to major highways either. We hope to stay again.

Historic beach house (3BR/2BA) on a pond and across the street from the ocean - water views from every room. Crescent Beach is across the street; Gun Rock Beach and Black Rock Beach are each a 5-10 minute walk. Peaceful. Preference (and discounts) for weekly, monthly and seasonal rentals, though happy to see you any time. Reservation book for 2020 opens March 9th for 5-day or longer rentals. Feel free to send an inquiry about a shorter stay.
In the mid-18th century, the Black Rock House was built on a ledge overlooking Black Rock Beach in Cohasset. Over the years, it became an inn, and then a hotel, that was popular among travelers, because it was a day's ride south of Boston on the coastal road. In the 19th century, it expanded into a widely-acclaimed resort where Boston society would “summer” on Boston's South Shore. Then in 1903, wealthy neighbors in Cohasset acquired the property with a plan to tear it down to improve their ocean view. My great grandfather owned a piece of land a quarter mile down the road on Straits Pond, and he bought a wing of the hotel that was slated for demolition. He moved it with horses, men and wooden rollers to set it on pilings at its current location – on a pond, across the street from the ocean. Every room has a water view. It's been in our family ever since. Crescent Beach is directly across the street. It's about 100 yards from the front door to the water's edge, where you can take a dip in a protected cove looking out to Boston in the distance. Black Rock Beach is about a quarter mile (5-10 minute walk) to the southeast, and Gun Rock Beach is about the same distance to the northwest. It's in a fairly quiet part of Hull, at the foot of Green Hill, and at the Hull-Cohasset town line. We believe the three-story structure is from 1820-1840 (Jacksonian Era). It's been updated over the years, but without diminishing its "that old house" character. It has steep 19th century steps, and you can still see the tin plates that once had hotel room numbers. The walls are all plaster mixed with horsehair over lathe, with plenty of patches. We find it a restful place, a bit removed from the hubbub of modern life -- though there is wifi throughout and a 55" flat screen smart TV (with basic cable) in the living room. These days, there are three furnished bedrooms. One has a King bed, another has a Queen bed, and the third can be set up as two Twins or a King. Each bedroom has a water view. The fourth bedroom on the second floor has been converted to a laundry room with a washer/dryer, and a nice view. There's a large bathroom on the second floor, and a second bathroom on the first floor - both have showers. The third floor with five small bedrooms and a bathroom is not currently used. The first floor consists of a living room, a kitchen, a dining room and the aforementioned bathroom. The first floor also has three porches: An open porch along the front (north side) of the house, a screened porch off the living room (in the southwest corner), and a back deck off the kitchen (in the southeast corner). There is zone heating throughout the house and the bedrooms can have air conditioning (though typically there are nice breezes off the ocean and off the pond. The house photographed rather well, so I should alert you that at its core it is very much an old beach house, and its main virtues are its oldness and beachiness. Lowered expectations are always a strong hedge against disappointment. The nearby beaches were discussed above, so here's a bit of information about the pond the house sits on. Straits Pond is about 3 miles in circumference and sits between Hull and Cohasset with a block-wide strip on its north side running along the Ocean. Our house is on the north side of the pond and looks across to the big pretty houses in Cohasset. In Colonial times, what is now the pond was a salt marsh, down by the sea, and fed by the Weir River. However, in the 1800s, the marsh was cleared for a manmade pond that never gets very deep and that is filled with a mix of salt and fresh water. At various times, it’s also been called “Lake Nantasket” and “Lake Galilee,” but Straits Pond seems to be the name that stuck. The water levels in the pond are now controlled by state authorities who adjust the levels throughout the summer by adjusting the locks in the west corner of the pond. As with most waterways in the US, for the past 50 years, there has been a concerted effort to clean up the pond. As a result, the pond is now alive with a variety of wildlife (e.g, ducks, geese, swans), many of whom come to visit next to or even into our yard.. At dusk, it's not unusual to see a cotton tail bunny rabbit emerge from the reeds for a jaunt across the yard. At such moments, we refer to the house as being in the land that time forgot. This area of Hull is at the start of the peninsula, near the town hall. It's about a mile to Nantasket Beach, which is a 3-mile long east-facing sandy beach. The Paragon Park amusement park at Nantasket Beach was replaced decades ago with condos, but there are still some arcades and a fully-restored carousel. If you don't feel like cooking, there are a lot of restaurants nearby, many of which are discussed in our House Guide. Some of our favorite activities are from a simpler time: good food, communing with nature, talking with family and friends, reading books, or playing cards or board games. You’ll find the house has a small library of summer reads, and a variety games for playing on the antique game table. Some guests report their happiest memories are from the simplest moments – sipping coffee on the kitchen porch as the pond comes alive in the morning, or a walk with family to the seawall at Crescent Beach to watch the sun set behind Boston across the water. We are now in our third season of renting the house. It seems to be popular with people who want to be in a restful spot at the seashore, and especially those looking to spend time re-connecting with family and friends. We’ve heard from families with children that the kids enjoy the same sorts of activities that generations of children have engaged in here – exploring the pond, the three nearby beaches (and rocks and tide pools), Nantasket Beach (with its arcades and restored Carousel), Fort Revere and the Boston islands, and just being with nature. We also hear that it’s in a wonderful location with the breezes that come across the pond and ocean and its proximity to Boston, the South Shore, Plymouth, and the Cape beyond. Of course, no house is perfect for everyone (We don't recommend it for toddlers due to the unfenced pond, nor to those with mobility challenges due to the steep 19th century stairs to the bedrooms on the second floor). It’s in a quiet neighborhood, with nearby neighbors (including our cousins who share the parking area and have the adjacent cottages and yard), which is why it’s not suitable for large gatherings or parties. However, if it seems right for you, we’ll do what we can to make your stay an enjoyable one. We hope with new memories of a really nice time by the beach. Our local host, Kathy, lives just down the street and has mostly retired from the hotel business, but still loves drawing on her fount of resources to help visitors explore and enjoy the area – including advice about resources in Hull and Cohasset, in other areas of the South Shore, or excursions into Boston, Salem, Plymouth of the Cape. Through Kathy, we also offer special concierge services, should you decide you want to arrange for a bike or kayak rental, fishing trip, boat cruise, clambake, or other special event. Feel free to ask about ways to make your time not only relaxing, but memorable. REVIEWS We made our summer vacation home available starting July 2018. Thus far, people seem to like it, and we have only 5-star reviews on both platforms where the house is listed. You can read AirBnB reviews elsewhere on this page (try down below), Here's what guests have said on the other platform where we are listed: Wedding Weekend in Hull May 2019 Susan F. Jeff gave me very clear and informative information not only on his house, but about restaurants and things do and see during our visit. I found that I over packed for this stay; in the past when I rented from others, I’ve had to bring almost everything! The house was very comfortable and relaxing. His local host, Kathy, was a true delight and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, leaving champagne, fruit and gourmet cookies to greet us as well as fresh flowers! I strongly recommend this rental for anyone looking to have a joyful, relaxing time. Quintessential beach house Aug 2018 Kim T. We really LOVED our stay at "that old house". This place was immaculately clean and very well-stocked with everything we needed. Formerly a wing of an old inn, it has some really cool history that is documented in a nicely written booklet in the home. The backyard had amazing views of Straits Pond with beautiful white swans and egrets. The front of the house had great ocean views, as the beach was just across the street. There was so much to do in the area, and we had perfect weather. Our 10-year-old boys had fun collecting cool rocks, shells and other things on the beach. We explored the old Fort Revere a few miles away on Telegraph Hill. They also had fun surfing the waves and playing arcade games at Nantasket Beach (just a mile away). We had lunch and shopped at great places in Hingham, walked the coastal roads in Cohasset and hiked the trails at World's End (251-acre conservation landscape). We would definitely book this vacation home again. Historic lake and seaside house Aug 2018 Rso T. This is a gem, sitting on a salt pond on the backside, and ocean across the road from the front door. A graceful old dame, this house wears its years well and is lovingly restored, maintained, and well appointed. Everything we needed was there: dishes, cookware, coffeemaker; box fans for every room. Bedding, linens, rooms all top quality. Fast internet, cable. Location is great: an easy jog or drive to Scituate's coastal mansions and Hull's long beach. Decent grocery stores nearby. High marks for family travel, with plenty of space, and very quiet. Would be perfect in any season. Attentive hosts welcomed us with a property info booklet, plates of cookies, and a big bowl of oranges. We cannot imagine how this could be improved. Everything was perfect for us. Great value! Highly recommended! Jul 2018 Gordon W. What a find! Our stay at This Old House, even at a time with heat and high humidity, was really enjoyable for our three generational vacation. Yes, the stairs are steep as described, but not a problem for our 70 year old Papa! The warm breezes through all the large, deep windows made for lovely sleeping on our comfortable beds, and amazingly we didn’t miss air conditioning! Neither did we miss the lack of a dishwasher! Having a huge washer/ dryer was really convenient and made for light luggage for our family packing. The house is perfectly situated with lovely views across the pond, access to a rocky beach for scavenging, and 2-minute drive to camp out on the expansive Hull Beach. This Old House is an immaculately kept home of yesteryear offering a truly calming and charming beach experience!
Straits Pond/Green Hill neighborhood is a quiet neighborhood on the shore, without pretense, and on the Hull/Cohasset town line. Home to three beaches: Crescent, Gun Rock and Black Rock. About a mile straight down the shore road to Nantasket Beach
  • Comfort, cleanliness and a very warm welcome. Early morning coffee on the back deck started our day out wonderfully. Watching all the wildlife on the pond. Small touches of flowers, candy and fruit gave us that coming home feeling and the fluffy towels at shower time added to our pleasures. Would recommend this stay for anyone away from home!

  • Great place in a great area. The house has incredible history and character but is still very comfortable. The fast internet connection and large screen smart TV along with the recently added air conditioning makes for a great blend of traditional and modern.

  • Jeff's house was in the perfect location for a relaxing family trip. We enjoyed kayaking, bike riding, hanging out at multiple nearby beaches, dinners on the back patio, game nights in the living room, and sunsets at the beach across the street. We look forward to returning!

  • Jeff’s place was perfect for our family to enjoy our week in the Greater Boston area. The home itself is beautiful and extremely well decorated. The host does a wonderful job of not only making you feel welcome but going even further to make it feel like a dream home. It has a great grill that we enjoyed and a lovely location in regards to the beach and the lake out front. We loved the home and look forward to coming back to stay at Jeff’s place whenever we are back in the area!

  • Jeff's place is ideal for a long weekend getaway with the family. The house is charming and historic, that Jeff have balanced with some modern amenities. Good to keep in mind that it can get quite warm. We were luck to have cooler mornings and nights and nice weather during the day spent mostly outdoors in the nearby town, beach and local sights. Jeff is super responsive throughout the whole stay, providing information and suggestions about the area. Would recommend staying at this charming place!

  • Coming to Hull was a wonderful experience. The house was very tastefully decorated, and we loved the feeling of history that it communicated to us. The back view over the pond was enjoyed at all times of the day, and the proximity to the beach enjoyed. We loved that we were able to enjoy Boston, but then come home and relax. Also, we loved that it allowed us easy access attractions south of Boston such as Plymouth, and Cape Cod!

Your apartment is a separate add on to an old renovated beach cottage in a quiet neighborhood. Walk to beach, downtown restaurants and shops or lighthouse point to view amazing sunsets. A perfect getaway for couples, solo adventurers or business travelers. An ideal spot for someone who wants a quiet relaxing retreat, or to write or make art. If you are interested, I can help you book meditation instruction, specially prepared meals, private yoga sessions, massage or other services.
Ocean breezes and a ceiling fan cool the upstairs bedroom. (A/C available soon but rarely needed) The downstairs living area includes microwave, mini-fridge, electric tea pot, coffee maker and a table for two. Gas grill available on deck. Surrounded by beautiful gardens. Eat inside or out. This is a SMOKE FREE environment.
A very quiet and safe neighborhood. You can easily walk to 2 beaches and bike to 3 other ones. Scituate is a fishing and boating town an hour from Cape Cod but more serene and less touristy. The historic lighthouse, 1/2 mile away is one of the oldest in New England. Look at the Scituate Chamber of Commerce web site for more about the town.
  • Terrific space for a quiet stay near Scituate Beach and Harbor. Spacious upstairs bedroom with ceiling fan and nice living space and full bathroom on the first floor. Private deck and garden in the back yard.

  • Scituate is an amazing town.. locals are friendly, the restaurants are great. Lauri's place is a perfect place to experience Scituate. She is an amazing host!

    Ana2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Lauri was incredibly responsive and offered great local tips!

    Megan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lauri’s place is nestled in a lovely seaside neighbourhood close to beaches, downtown Scituate and the exceptional Barker Tavern. If your looking for really good coffee, the Lucky Finn, located on the water, is the place to go. Lauri is a gracious host and we enjoyed her very much. The place is a well appointed two story “apartment” with mini kitchenette. We mostly ate out (so many good options), but it certainly seemed like we could have easily prepared a few good meals. We loved our stay and would come again.

    Johanna2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have spent a more relaxing and enjoyable weekend at Lauri’s quiet neighborhood beach-adjacent refuge. Her longtime residency in Scituate embraced our stay with warm hometown familiarity, along with her comfortable and tastefully attentive accommodations. Soft seaside interior color schemes, fresh cut flowers, a quaint, private backyard deck with meditation garden were additionally soothing and nurturing. With an eager and ready smile, Lauri is ever mindful of her guests’ comfort, and happily responded promptly and conscientiously to our questions. We will gladly come stay with her next time we come to New England.

    Robert2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location Great base camp for Scituate Cute functional living space Airy and relaxing upstairs sleeping area

  • You can expect a comfortable, clean and private space in a neighborhood walking distance to the lighthouse and harbor with special touches and amenities comparable to being at home. Great place. Highly recommend if your travels bring you to that area.

    Bernice2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lauri was a very kind and responsive host. The space is completely separate and very nicely laid out. We especially appreciated the fresh picked hydrangeas and blueberries that she left out for us!

  • LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, the Garden view apartment has the perfect location. It is in a walking distance to Quincy Center train station. The ride into the city was super quick, it took us less than 20 minutes to get to downtown Boston. The apartment was very cozy, clean and comfortable. My car was parked in a legal lot visible from the front window of the apartment. It is in a safe neighborhood and the host Felipe was very polite and attentive. The Wi-Fi connection was perfect and we did not have to carry a set of keys around. The apartment is equipped with electronic access which made checking-in a breeze. It also has a safe-box in the closet where we could secure our passports and other documents. I definitely recommend the Garden View apartment to all travelers out there. This was the best Airbnb that I have stayed. I will certainly stay there again in my next visit to Boston. I had a lot of fun! Beautiful historical city.

  • Darrin’s place was a great spot for my family and I to spend a long weekend. We had two toddlers with us and the 5 bedrooms gave us plenty of space for everyone. Darrin really helped us out by allowing for some rented cribs to be dropped off before we arrived, and he was easy to get in touch with. Checking in and out was easy. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make a holiday dinner. This is a beautiful home right on the water that I’d recommend to anyone.

    Stefan2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot right by the beach. You're pretty much surrounded by water and the sunset over the water was beautiful! Great spot for families or large groups. We didn't get to use the porch or fire pit, as it was a bit cold, and we were crunched for time, but I would definitely stay here again! One note: One of the upstairs bedrooms (the one that has three twin beds in it) doesn't have a door on it, which was fine for me, and maybe that was mentioned in the listing, and I missed it, but I just wanted to mention that in case someone needs extra privacy. The other room upstairs DOES have a door. Another note: The ceilings upstairs are also a bit low. I'm 5'2", and my head was almost touching the ceiling in the bathroom upstairs. So put the short folks upstairs and the tall ones downstairs, and you should be fine. Upstairs rooms are great for the kiddos.

    Michelle2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • This home was ideally situated between Scituate and Cohasett. Close to both seaside towns and the beach. Very clean, comfortable beds, great screened porch, backyard with a fire pit and located right on the water.

    Debby2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about this house and our recent stay. We wanted a quiet neighborhood at the shore to spend some time knitting and sewing together. The house was clean and well equipped for cooking and relaxing in the living room together. The water view was beautiful and the neighborhood easy to walk around. If you want the restaurant scene or sandy beaches be prepared to travel 10-20 minutes.

    Mary2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
