The Bunkie is a 400 sq ft insulated cabin with kitchen (no stove), fridge with small freezer open dining, living area, private bathroom and shower. It has forced air electric heat and a wood stove. There are plenty of windows. A large sliding door opens to a comfortable 160 sq ft deck. You will have an incredible view of the dock, swimming area, lake, evening sunsets. Buckshoof Lake boasts fantastic swimming. It is very quiet. 1 small motor boat on the lake. Canoe, paddle boards are included.
The Bunkie interior is finished in warm knotty pine. There is terrific swimming off the dock. You can swim easily to our raft stationed within a comfortable swim. There is lots of parking available. Bring your own fishing rods. We can supply you with a couple and some tackle if necessary. The Bunkie has a well equiped kitchen (no oven). There is a BBQ on the deck. There are lots of deck chairs that can be positioned around the fire pit for evening campfires. You can clean up in the shower. Lots of hot water. It is a seasonal venue that is more suitable from spring thru fall. If you want to use it in the winter you would go old school and chop a hole in the ice. But you could keep warm and we'd provide instructions for using the toilet, drains and shower. Fantastic snowmobiling. The trails are at your doorstep.
We are located less that 4 km off of Highway 400, approximately 170 km from Toronto. The site is almost exactly in between Barrie and Parry Sound. The Wawautosa Trading post is approximately 5km down Georgian Bay Rd and Crooked Bay Rd on Six Mile Lake. You can get lots of basic supplies, bait and fishing tackle there. We are within a 15 minute drive of Port Severn and Honey Harbour. Wood Landing Marina is approximately 3 km down Georgian Bay Road and provides access to boating on Georgian Bay. We have two bikes that can be used to explore for a small fee. There are several terrific hiking trails around the lake and several that lead to McCrae Lake. The far shore of Buckshoof Lake is Crown Land. Feel free to canoe across the lake and explore. What we love most about our site is how quiet and peaceful it is. It a terrific place to unwind, explore, get some exercise on land or in the lake. We have a couple of hammocks by the water you can stretch out on.
  • Mariola's place had everything we were looking for plus an amazing lake view and gorgeous evening sunsets. My partner and I spent three nights here exploring the surrounding nature in the daytime and winding down on the deck in the evenings. The rainy days were made cozier with board games and delicious BBQ meals. We hope to stay with you again!

  • My Boyfriend and me stayed 3 nights at the Bunkie and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately the weather wasn't that good and it rained a Lot. But actually it is really cosy to just sit inside, watch the rain and the Lake and enjoy a good book. Inside you have all you need. A good shower, a well equiped kitchen and a cosy living and sleeping área. And If the Weather ist good You can enjoy the Lake by canoe or swimming. All in all a good place To have some calm days and enjoying Nature.

  • I was seeking a solo retreat to rest/start my summer vacation. The Bunkie totally delivered. Beautiful place that was so easy to get to from Toronto. There were evenings when I was the only one out on the lake watching the sunset. The perfect recharge! Bob and Mariola were also excellent hosts. Very kind and welcoming while giving me my own space. When I arrived, I only had a few groceries with me. Mariola offered to pick me up what else I needed when she went into town the next day. I would absolutely book the Bunkie again. Hope you guys list it next summer! :) Thank you for a fantastic stay.

    Kimberly2019-07-01T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful time at Kathleen's place over the Labour day weekend. She welcomed us as soon as we got there with a tour of the place to get us acclimated. Everything was clean and tidy, and she was extra accommodating as we also had a three month old baby with us. Her and Leo helped chop up some firewood for us during our second night and got the fire place going inside so we were comfortable for the evening. They left us to our own private space (the entire downstairs cottage and back yard) the entire time, but any time we had questions or needed anything they were very responsive and helpful. I'd definitely recommend her Air BnB for anyone looking to enjoy some nice relaxing time with family and/or friends at a very scenic and serene waterfront cottage.

  • Amazing location! Amazing cottage right on the water! Lots of great amenities. Beautiful landscaping. The rooms were much better than expected especially the beautiful washrooms with spa bath. We recommend that you bring your own wifi because of the extra costs for the usage on the premises. The owners are lovely and work very hard to ensure your stay is pleasant. We had a lovely relaxing time.

  • Awesome place and location right by the Georgian Bay, great setup for multi night stay, good comfort and perfect for families with kids

  • We had a lovely time at Kathleen's. The property is beautiful and right on the water - we had a great time swimming off the dock! Kathleen and Leo were attentive and made sure we were set up and taken care of. They even made us a fire one night and accommodated an early checkin.

    Ashley2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb stay and it was an outstanding one. Everything is spot on. Kathleen and Leo are very friendly and will do whatever it takes to enjoy your stay. We spent a very relaxing enjoyable 3 nights.

    Abdullah2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The water was perfect for swimming Beautiful view from gazebo. Overall, we had lots of fun as a group.

    Bek2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous view on the lake. Sunsets and sunrise are astonishing. Perfect location, near Awanda Park, Midland, and Beausoleil Island Park. Lake water temperature was perfect for swimming. Kathleen is hepful and not intrusive. She and her husband Leo are always happy to chat a bit. She set clear rules at the arrival. The house is perfectly clean has all amenities need for a stay of any duration, all in good condition. Kathleen immediately replaced the few small items that were not perfect at our arrival. We slept well, and found the bugs outside much less aggressive than in other wooden parts of Ontario. Mosquito coils were enough to keep them at bay for dinner! Very good value for the money.

The property is lovely with lots of areas to sit and enjoy the out of doors and the small cabin was well appointed (including towels and bed linens). Swimming off the long dock was great and sunsets from the completely screened in gazebo on the point we're not to be missed. Thank you to our hosts for making our family vacation a memorable one.

You will love this modern home with all the amenities. This newly built, open floor plan home is bright, comfortable and airy. • This is an excellent home that is very well appointed with more than everything you will need for your stay. We were three small families and had room to spare. Jon's home is new/newly renovated and stylishly decorated. We really enjoyed our stay, and nothing could have made it better. Communication with Jon was excellent and nice touches were left for us by Karen upon our arrival. Highly recommended. Excellent hosts.

  • What a privilege to stay at such a beautiful, bright, clean, well furnished, extraordinary equipped home. Truly thank you. A complete professional service, with quick responses from the owners, to a fully comprehensive electronic guide manual on the house, the area and anything you can think of. We took a gamble being the first to book, but it completely paid of. Our family of 4 and our friends family of 4 had plenty of space to relax, cook amazing meals, and to enjoy the different space in the house. It was minus 18 centigrade when we arrived and the house was so toasty as it was during our whole stay. Only shame we weren’t there long enough... Almost the house is too nice to be on Air BnB.. would return with pleasure... Thank you very much.

Having said that our dogs are trained and very good kids ;) Please keep an eye on them and make sure they don't chew anything or have any accidents inside. Also, feel free to cover the sofa with a blanket if Fido is a couch potato! The outside area is not fenced in so please make sure you bring leashes if they are a flight risk. We don't want anyone to get lost. It would be tricky to find them in a wooded area!
Private and residential crescent that is family friendly and a great escape from the city. Just across the street from the water with deeded access. Most of our neighbours are permanent so please keep noise down. You are on vacation but they are not! Just 20 minutes from Midland and 10 minutes from Hindson Marina. Close driving distance to Balm Beach, Woodland Beach, Lafontaine Park Beach and Jackson Park. Great places to spend the day! Access to the water across the street (but you do need water shoes due to the rocks) so we suggest you use one of the many beaches within 4 minutes from the cottage, i.e. Awenda Park. Do you love winter too? No problem! Visit Mountainview ski resort by day and cozy up by the wood fireplace at night. Awenda Park details (4 minute drive from cottage): Biking Several kilometers of park roads are available for cyclists. Bikes are also allowed on the Beach, Bluff and Brule Trails. Since these are multi-use trails, racing is not permitted and cyclists must yield to pedestrians and hikers. Cyclists are encouraged to respect and protect the often sensitive environments that these trails pass through by riding only on the designated trail surface. Birding Awenda is home to at least 120 breeding bird species. The park’s upland forests provide a critical habitat refuge for the endangered Cerulean Warbler. The park’s trails, lakes, shorelines, fens, bogs and campgrounds offer a mix of habitat for a variety of viewing opportunities and discovery. Boating Boating enthusiasts will find plenty of room to investigate Georgian Bay. Because of its size and exposed area, Georgian Bay winds can be unpredictable and quick to rise, so use appropriate caution. The closest boat launch facilities are in Penetanguishene. Outboard motors are not allowed on Kettle’s Lake. Canoeing Awenda’s quiet and scenic Kettle’s Lake is an excellent location for putting in your own canoe or one you rent from the park. This small, motorboat free lake is ideally suited for the novice paddler or nature enthusiast. Fishing Bass, Northern Pike, pickerel and smaller panfish are commonly found in the waters between Awenda and Giant’s Tomb Island. Bass and panfish are also found in Kettle’s Lake. Hiking Awenda offers a nice variety of looped and linear, easy to moderate trails and range from 1 to 13 km in length. One trail provides barrier-free access. Beach Trail – 4 km return (1.5 hours) linear, easy This trail takes hikers along the Georgian Bay shoreline. Giant’s Tomb Island is visible from the trail. The contrast between the dry oak-maple forest of the campgrounds and the low, wet birch-cedar-hemlock forest below the bluff can be seen. Beaver Pond Trail – 1 km (30 minutes) loop, easy, barrier free Located in a nature reserve zone most of this trail is a boardwalk that takes you through an area altered by past and present beaver activity. Along the way you will see the remains of both a building and a bridge from the early logging days. The area also offers views of the dominant Nipissing bluff as well as excellent opportunities for viewing wildlife, wildflowers and many species of birds. Bluff Trail – 13 km (3.5 hours) loop, moderate This circular trail can be accessed from a number of locations within the park. It travels partly along a high bluff and partly through a low wetland. Views of Georgian Bay from sections of this trail are spectacular, especially during the late autumn, early spring leaf- free season. Nipissing Trail – 1 km return (30 minutes) linear, moderate The Nipissing Bluff is the dominant glacial feature in Awenda. It is a raised beach created 5,500 years ago by glacial Lake Nipissing. Today a 155 step staircase allows hikers to easily descend 32 metres down the face of the bluff, at times providing you with the sensation of being part of the forest canopy. Brûlé Trail - 4 km return (1.5 hours) linear, easy This trail passes through a portion of the park’s upland mixed deciduous forest. Lumbering and fires have obliterated the White Pine stands so that the majority of trees are now Sugar Maple and Red Oak. Lumbering on the peninsula was at its peak in the late 1800s. Since then the forest has been allowed to revert to its natural state but the White Pine has been unable to fully re-establish itself. Robitaille Homestead Trail – 3 km return (1hour) linear, easy Hikers follow this trail to an ancient dune system. The age of these sand dunes has been estimated at 11,500 years, from the time of the last glacial retreat. The dunes are a very fragile environment and we ask that you do not climb the hillside, stand on the edge of the bluff or climb down the bluff. This will allow plants to re-establish themselves and will help us preserve this area for future park visitors. On the way to the dunes, this trail passes an abandoned farmstead originally built in 1902. Remains of the stone foundations and fence rows can still be seen. Wendat Trail – 5 km (2 hours) loop, easy This trail begins at Kettle’s Lake. This lake is thought to be a kettle lake formed by the gradual melting of a large buried piece of ice left by retreating glaciers. Today, this area is a favoured nesting spot for the Red-winged Blackbird and the Great Blue Heron is often seen in the swamps around the lake. The trail passes the foundations of the Brabant farmstead house and barn. Attempts to farm this area in the 1930s and 40s failed due to the poor, sandy soil. Natural Heritage Education Awenda offers a wide variety of programs for enthusiasts of all ages. Regularly scheduled guided hikes, children’s programs, special events and evening programs occur from late June to early fall featuring the unique cultural history and the biology of the park. Swimming Awenda features several beautiful and natural beaches on the Georgian Bay shoreline within driving distance from the campgrounds. The most protected and sandiest beach area is at Methodist Point Bay (Third Beach). Swimmers are reminded that that there are no lifeguards at the beaches. For a refundable deposit, you can borrow a properly fitted personal floatation device (PFD) during your stay at Awenda. Awenda has designated a stretch of its scenic Georgian Bay shoreline as a Pet Beach. This is the only public beach in the park where pets are permitted. However they still must be kept on a two metre leash and it is the owner’s responsibility to clean up after them. Winter Activities The park is not open for camping, but the trails and forests are available as a backcountry style experience for the more adventuresome ski and snowshoe enthusiast. Trails begin at the Trail Centre, a cozy wood heated log cabin. Although 17 kilometres of ski trail are often packed and set with a single track, be prepared to occasionally track your own trails due to the backcountry intent of this self-use winter program. Snowshoeing is popular through the park’s many hectares of open bush; however there are no designated snowshoe trails. Dogs are not permitted on winter trails and visitors must provide their own equipment as rentals are not available. For the most current trail conditions at Awenda and other Ontario Parks check the ski trail report.
  • Gerry's place was the perfect spot for our multi generational family vacation. The place is beautiful space inside and out. It is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Just a short walk to a lovely secluded beach with the crystal clear water of Georgian Bay. We all, ages 4 to 70, had a great time.

    Claire2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This house is gorgeous. There was so many towels and clean sheets that no one needed to share anything! So nice to have a dog friendly place to go. Would recommend for sure. The only downside was no internet but isn’t that the point? To unwind :)

    Cathrine2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is absolutely beautiful. It’s spacious and clean, and it is decorated so nicely. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Gerry was an excellent host and got back to our questions right away. The beach was a bit far for us, as we had small children and lot of stuff to pack up. We ended up making the drive to balm beach which was lovely!

    Kylee2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with many amenities to make some great family or friend memories! We had a great time and no wifi which was awesome!!

    Karen2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is stunning. While not on the lake, it is a quick walk to a private beach. The house is roomy, with enough living space for multiple families to find a minute or two of private time. The kitchen is superbly outfitted, the cottage is dog friendly, and Gerry is quick to reply with helpful suggestions. We enjoyed ourselves immensely!

    Emily2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful space with a great view of the sunsets. The access to the beach was great - a short walk from the house. We went when it was chilly not to play in the water but to watch the sunset. Was very relaxed and quiet. The neighborhood is quiet. We loved that the space was so dog friendly and welcoming. And I loved all the tips that existed on the nearby trails. One thing - I forgot to check off WiFi as a requirement - ended up using quite a bit of phone data but the listing correctly shows that there's no wifi so that was my mistake! Thanks for a great stay!

    Jeannie2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were really blown away by Gerry's place. The house is homey and comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. The house is also generously proportioned. There is plenty of seating and space for everyone. It is also extremely dog friendly. If you have dogs, this is the place for you. In addition to blankets and baby gates, there are lovely walks, though fewer of those walks are available in the Winter. Gerry was friendly, helpful, and responsive. He was available to speak with over the phone if we had any questions.

    Ben2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of six, comprising three generations, had a relaxing and fun time at Gerry and Nadia's house. Gerry was a very responsive host, replying to me always at once. Located in woods, almost on the lake, it was an easy walk to a little beach. The place was very stylish, as described, and eight people would have had more than enough space to relax. In the kitchen the well-stocked pantry meant it was easy to rustle up meals and there were plenty creature comforts for everyday needs. I particularly liked the really comfy bed in the main bedroom. I can highly recommend this place. Thanks for making it available to us.

Come and enjoy your stay at our cozy cottage. You can beat the heat with cannonballs into Georgian Bay or chase the sun with 360 access to shoreline. Our newly renovated two bedroom space boasts a new kitchen complete with dishwasher, new pine-clad bathroom with shower, a Queen sofa bed and Premium Queen Air Mattress (with headboard) for extra guests. Dock available for swimming or boat tie-off (BYOBoat).
This island is completely your own - unshared with any other dwellings. Ideal for honeymooners, families with young children (we have a playpen on site!) and friends. Closest to Cognashene, Georgian Bay offers beautiful sunny days and quiet peaceful evenings.
  • Rachel and Joshua have a gem of a place on a classic piece of Georgian Bay granite. It's very private, with just a short boat trip from Honey Harbour. We arrived to a very cozy, clean and recently renovated space and were greeted with a chilled bottle of rose and two glasses. Nice touch! A new, well equipped kitchen made our stay easy. There are two porches; one facing south for morning coffee and early sun, and one facing west with a broad expanse for afternoon cocktails and sunsets. A cozy fire pit is steps away. Terrific deep water swimming (and fishing right off the dock if you like) and jumping rocks for all ages (Our 10 year old loved it) It would be a great getaway for a couple or honeymooners as well. A new dock for easy mooring, and enough rocky terrain for exploring. We'd return in a heart beat.

    Honey Harbour, ON, Canada

A stunning four season lake house, recently renovated and beautifully designed home. The property has deep and clean waterfront with a beautiful sandy beach 20 meters away. There is a large deck and brand new docks to enjoy the brilliant views. Inside, the open concept design is sunny and bright with huge floor to ceiling windows that open to outstanding lake views. This is an "urban cottage" located in the heart of Honey Harbour and only 90 minutes drive north of Toronto.
This is a family cottage designed in mind to make life easy for parents so it's a true retreat. There are games and books for children, along with a foosball table. Plenty of sleeping options for guests including a crib. There's a propane BBQ and a fire pit. As well as Netflix for when you want to settle down with a movie. Enjoy the massive brand new docks that provide a deep but protected area for swimming.
Honey Harbour is a community rich town in the heart of Georgian Bay. Being an "urban cottage" with road access is quite rare for this area. You're able to walk to the local beach (20 meters away), the local playground, the grocery store and even the LCBO! Still the Coop provides plenty of privacy so you feel you can relax.
  • I great place! Great view. Comfortable and inviting.

    Bruce2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time at The Coop! After our first visit last year we knew we had to come back. When we arrived the check-in was very smooth with no issues. Every single space in The Coop was sparkling clean; not an imperfection to note. The massive window views of the bay were just as I remembered ... stunning!! There is more than enough amenities, cooking supplies, bathroom supplies and game supplies at The Coop to ensure an exceptional stay. The additional touches in The Coop were even better than last year, when I didn’t think it could get any better. There was definitely not one negative thing to say during our stay. Lindsay is called a ‘super host’ for a reason and I thank her very much for the amazing experience my closest friends and I had. We hope to come back next year for another memorable time!

  • We had a lovely family weekend! Really enjoyed ourselves!!

    Raj2019-09-10T00:00:00Z

    Jamie2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and well decorated. Very family friendly with lots of games and toys inside the cottage for down time.

    Lipi2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay's place was absolutely beautiful! We had such a blast hanging out on the private dock and spending time in the sun room. The view to the lake were great!

    Apple2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality and wonderful house.

    David2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Coop is a great spot right on the water, where you can idle away the hours watching the boats come and go.... Even from the couch, you have the benefit of the sun room windows that allows you to relax inside away from the heat but still have the view. The Coop has easy access to all the amenities you need, and is even walking distance to a little Irish Pub if you feel the need to wander out.... For a group of adults, the sleeping arrangements are largely single beds but comfortable! The master suite is beautiful with water views and a private deck. Lindsay is a great host, very responsive. Under 2 hours from Toronto if you beat the traffic!

  • We enjoyed our stay at Elizabeth's. An absolutely beautiful cottage, and the islands are spectacular. Her cottage is set up extremely well for guests, and we appreciated items found to be stocked, that we missed in packing. We are normally outdoor people, so enjoyed the the kayaks and boating while there, but found ourselves at her cottage during much rainy weather... but the cottage is so lovely, and the view over the water from the screened porch, perfect for less-than perfect weather on your vacation. Comfortable beds and beautiful linens. We would highly recommend. Donna & Pete

I would definitely recommend this place to any group wanting to have a true Georgian Bay cottage experience.

Basics like soap, toilet paper, a few towels, and shampoo/conditioner are on site. The backyard has a new deck, a bbq, and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. Please only use these if you have previous experience (we don't want anyone getting hurt!). Fire pit may only be used when the municipal burn warning is in the "green zone" - contact us to check. We LOVE babies and wee ones (we have many in our family) however we must point out some cautionary notes for guests with toddlers and infants; Our home is NOT BABY-PROOFED (i.e.: no table bumpers, safety gates, cupboard latches, cordless blinds, etc) and we do NOT have any baby/toddler equipment (high chairs, crib, baby gates, etc). If you wish to bring small children, you will need to bring all necessary equipment, and you must assume sole responsibility for their safety.
This is a lovely neighbourhood with friendly neighbours. A relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city! Minutes away from 4 beaches, and a short drive to Awenda Provincial Park. Shopping, groceries, movie theatre, farmers markets and restaurants are available in nearby Penetanguishene and Midland (30 minute drive). *For any small things you may have forgotten, there is a well stocked corner store just a 10 minute walk away.
  • We had lots of fun with our family at Michelle's place. Great selection of movies and games. Helpful having downstairs for the kids to spill into.

  • Very clean, cozy and spacious cottage! Fantastic place to stay with kids especially. It has lots of toys, books, DVDs, games, etc. You'll never be bored. About 10-15 min walk to a small cute beach. But I would also recommend to drive 10 min to Awenda Park where you can go on trails or swim in the clearest water that is almost like a Caribbean beach. I would love to stay again here!

    Anna2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's cottage was lovely! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable and beautiful cottage to spend a couple of days with family and friends. The cottage was very clean and had everything you need in terms of kitchen supplies and entertainment. It is so close (walking distance or a short drive) to beautiful Georgian Bay beaches, and the fact that it was only a 2-hour drive from Toronto was big plus. Michelle is a very kind host, is easy to communicate with, and made sure we had everything we need to be comfortable during our stay.

    Mido2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place has everything you need. Located both near the water, which makes it feel isolated, but also near a decent sized town, which means you can get what you need with a short drive. The house is clean and spacious. Plenty of space to sleep. No wifi, but a large TV with DVD player and hundreds of DVDs on shelves to watch. We did not run out of things to watch.

    Michael2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious 4 bedroom cottage that was sparkling clean. Very well equipped with sheets, towels and all kitchen dishes and utensils, including thoughtful touches like bug spray. The public sandy beach on Georgian Bay is a 10 minute walk down a quiet road. We fell in love with the area!

    Dorothy2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay! Enjoyed the experience and was very fond of the space

    Michelle2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We are a family of 5 and for part of the time we had a family of 4 stay with us. Michelle's is spacious enough that you don't feel like you're constantly on top of one another. Michelle's place is extremely clean and well-located. We were happy to find a place not directly on the water but close enough to walk or bike. The surrounding area is stunning. Awenda Provincial Park is so close and there's great canoeing there. I would definitely book again!

    Michelle2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for having us Michelle, the AirBNB had a lot of cooking items that came in handy! The house was furnished very nicely and we had a great time! Michelle was a great host and communicated back to us promptly! I would definitely re-vist.

Great for your own artist, meditation, yoga retreat, or just a chance to spend time with your family in an awe-inspiring landscape. A main cottage, plus 4 charming private sleeping cabins. A mile of shoreline & islands to tour for walks & picnics. This outer island has a gorgeous lake view of the open.
The cottage is located on Georgian Bay, Go Home Bay, at the edge of a land preservation, giving you access to a mile long shoreline walk. Perfect for a solo, couple or family get-away. It is a delight for those who seek an authentic Georgian Bay island experience who want to leave behind stores, shopping, cars, and the urban world. The cottage is remote and on an island so it is a $230 boat ride each way via taxi from Honey Harbour. The boat can usually fit a family of four or more with all their gear. The marina fee is $10/day. There are no cars and stores. You can also come via the Toronto airport and take a shuttle service that will take you directly to Honey Harbour where you can do all your shopping. To find out more about this option, look under "Getting Around". Utilities : Our cottage has hydro/electricity in all the cabins and main cottage. There is running hot and cold water in the main cottage and one cabin and outhouse. We have purified filtered drinkable water. The outhouse washroom is a cabin with electricity, running water, a sink, a table a chair, three windows and a composting odourless vented toilet. There are no toilets in any of the buildings. There is an outdoor shower at the studio cabin. In the kitchen, there is a standard size fridge and stove, and microwave. There is no dishwasher or on site laundry facility. There is also a BBQ is on the back porch right off the sliding glass doors of the kitchen. Most cellphones will have signal coverage. Some things about our cottage, so there are no surprises: it is a very unique property, it is boat-access only, cars are left at the marina, so no grocery stores or shopping. You are always welcome to go to and from using the taxi service at the given fee. To get around, there are two canoes that you can use to venture out to neighbouring islands. The island itself has a mile of outer shoreline to explore. Keywords: lakeside, lake, lake view
Go Home Bay, Georgian Bay is the are the Group of Seven came and painted the West Wind and other famous paintings. The cottage they stayed in is just around the corner.
  • A charming and comfortable cottage with a well set up kitchen and fantastic sleeping cabins. The beds were so comfortable, the outhouse was clean and the outdoor shower had plenty of hot water. Great swimming and great views! Can't wait to return!

  • Sooo gorgeous: Go Home Bay is pristine Georgian Bay beauty. Gillian's siting is amazing, and her buildings are charming and well equipped. She and Will were helpful above and beyond. Perfection!

  • - Classic, unique, heritage cottage! Photos do not do it justice!! - Did not meet host but she was extremely responsive, caring, and friendly. Her property manager, Will, is equally charming - Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to try something new and different. You won't be disappointed!

  • Our host was extremely responsive and open to all questions. The description was accurate, in fact more modest than it could be! The place was pure magic, clean, and a nice bottle of bubbly waiting for us.

  • First, about Daniel. He is a welcoming, gracious, and communicative host. I will be checking out his other properties in the future. Next, about the property. It was as described, clean, and contained all of the amenities expected at a cottage. We were worried about the lack of air conditioning during an August weeklong rental, but the unit stayed cool due to good ventilation with windows open. The location is right beside a busy channel which means there are always boats going by. Swimming is great, large dock, no weeds. Would rent again!

    Julia2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could ever need! The decks have great seating and big (easy-to-use) umbrellas. There is electricity to the dock (for music and baby monitors). The only thing to consider is the open-concept sleeping arrangement of 2 bedrooms. Daniel was great. He responded to all our questions quickly and was super helpful with getting us to and from the island. We would love to stay here again!

    Patrick2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • From start to finish, this was an outstanding vacation. Daniel couldn't have been more helpful and friendly! We met the owner, Nick, as well. A lovely man! The cottage is gorgeous and comfortable with sweet touches throughout. The landscaping is beautiful with different levels to enjoy. Brand new dock. Deep water swimming and a little sandy beach. Close to Honey Harbour. Near a busy channel - great for boat watching. It was such a positive experience on all fronts. THANK YOU, Daniel and Nick!

  • This is the nicest Air Bnb I’ve stayed in. Clean, well-maintained and highly functional for a family vacation. The place appears exactly as it does in the photos - it’s beautiful! We enjoyed the sun room, main living area, and master bedroom/washroom in particular. The location is also incredible. It’s a short walk to a couple small beaches (too cold for us to swim). If those don’t suit you, drive 5 minutes to Awenda. We went there twice for the trails, but there are also beaches there. Ilana was also very responsive and attentive. We have nothing negative to say. I hope to be back next summer!

    Tyler2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! This cottage was perfect for our young family with 3 kids under 4. Tons of toys and games for the little ones to play with on rainy indoor days, and we loved the private beach that was just a short walk away. We really appreciated having all the "kiddo" things handy, without having to bring them all with us... Highchair, potty seat, toddler beds, playpen... It was super convenient and made for a much easier trip! Communication prior to our arrival was impeccable, with super speedy responses and helpful info about the area provided so we could plan our time. Thanks Ilana & Jordan for hosting such a memorable family cottage vacation, we loved it!

    Dawn2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 5 adults and 1 infant. I felt comfortable letting my baby roam around the house and patio without concern, as everything was baby proofed. The beach is close by and we loved biking to the local shop for ice cream. It was a super relaxing week away from life.

    Sibte2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cottage with all the comforts of home. The hosts provide thoughtful touches for their guests. We especially liked the large screened sunroom, a spacious wrap around deck, peaceful and private yard, and a very short walk to a sandy beach. The neighbourhood is great for taking walks or biking as well. We look forward to returning!

    Anita2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! The pictures do not do this cottage justice. Professionally decorated, and nothing forgotten. The master en suite is out of a 5-star resort, complete with rainfall shower and separate jacuzzi tub built for 2. Tile from floor to ceiling. Did I mention the shower....luxury! Incredibly comfortable bed, and a patio to enjoy a morning coffee...and watch the bunnies eat their breakfast! The second main floor bedroom is a lovely size, very comfortable bed, close to a second full bathroom, and far enough away from the master suite that you’re not on top of each other. Our teenage daughter was quite pleased. The open, modern design of the living/dining/kitchen area is tastefully decorated. The high ceilings and large patio doors make for such a bright, inviting space. I have to admit, I spent no time in this space; because if I wasn’t outside, I was in the enclosed porch off the kitchen! This screened porch space has the two most comfortable chairs for reading, chatting, or simply listening to the frogs in the pond (I have no appropriate words for the peacefulness of the pond; I made a few frog friends!). The screened porch keeps you outside, but out of the mosquitoes reach! The porch (not enclosed) continues around the whole front of the house. The beach is but steps away through a ‘fairy’ path. 90% of the time we had the beach completely to ourselves. We checked out other beaches in the neighbourhood, and preferred ours for the sand, and size. I ran every morning to Awenda Park (6.5km round trip), bring your food and drink, and there is really no reason to leave! This is a very special place. Looking forward to going back next year!

    Erin2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't want to leave - the space is better than advertised. The cottage is amazing. There is so much to do from enjoying the fire pit, the frog pond and the beach!! Just loved our time there. It's so peaceful and the stars are so bright. We were lucky enough to see shooting stars and satellites flying by too! There aren't enough words to describe how amazing the space is. Ilana and Jordan are great hosts and quick to communicate with us for any of our concerns or questions.

    Karen2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Happy to say that the pics are an accurate representation of this space. Everything was well thought out and organized. The owners were thoughtful with small touches from a warm welcome package to labeled cupboards and switches. The screened in porch was one of the best parts! We ate out there all the time, and the dogs enjoyed laying out there listening to the sounds and enjoying the smells of nature around then. It also give you a space to dry and clean off before heading inside from the beach.

    Melody2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a lovely, relaxing stay at a well-appointed cottage. Perfect if you have young kids - we just got home and are already thinking about next time.

Sleeps 12 in beds, 16 possible.Georgian Bay, Muskoka. 90 Mins to GTA, 20 mins to Mount St. Louis &40 mins to Horseshoe Valley.Privacy+. Minimum rental age is 25 years old.
Great Reviews Come and Relax Amidst Nature, on an 8 Acre Property without a neighbour in sight! Enter the gates and wind your way down the long, enchanting driveway, lined with windswept pines and wild granite outcroppings. At the end, you will finally see the cottage, proudly overlooking the lake, perched atop the granite. Ideally facing Southwest for all day sun, and beautiful, nightly sunsets, the cottage offers captivating views of the lake from all of the principal rooms. You will definitely see an abundance of wildlife during your holiday, whether indoors or out. The great room is massive with 19 foot vaulted ceiings, and a huge electric stone fireplace at one end, featuring an beam circa 1850 for a mantle, reclaimed from a barn in Sutton Ontario several years ago, and a gigantic stone hearth that is ideal for warming up on with a cup of hot cocoa. If there is one compliment that we get over and over again about the great room (which is the entire main level), it is that it is flooded with natural light. With a huge wall of windows and 6 skylights, it is a very wonderful space. The living area is large and comfy, featuring an entertainment area, games table (which doubles as a second dining table for large groups) and lots of seating. There are lots of older movies to watch and at least 5 board games to play. There are also a few toys tucked away upstairs that might interest younger children. The living room flows into the dining area with a long table with seating for 10, along with an extra table, and an open kitchen with island, granite countertops and high quality appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked for your convenience, so pack lightly! Because we use our cottage too, and we want you to feel welcomed, we leave some of our cupboards stocked with basic kitchen items. You will find tea and various canned goods. If you bring everything that you think you will need, that is best, but we don't mind sharing if you run out or forgot something. Have a good time. When you leave, maybe leave a few non-perishables to share with us, or the next guests. It makes it kind of fun for everyone this way! The main level leads to the mezzanine with a broad, open, curved oak staircase. Once upstairs, you can see what everyone is up to down below from the hallway, which is great for parents LOLs. There are clerestory windows along the sides of the soaring ceilings in the upstairs hallway, which allow it to flood with light. Each of the 3 bedrooms open to this hallway, but we have kept them darker, with dark window coverings for a great night's sleep. The bedding is clean and comfortable but will not be matching necessarily. This is a cottage, right! The first bedroom, the guest master, has a queen sized bed with a covered opening that overlooks the great room, and a desk for a laptop etc. The second bedroom offers a king sized bed and a single bed and has a mini lounge set up with a DVD/VCR for watching movies, a coffee table and a love seat. The third bedroom has a single over double bunk style bed, and a conventional single over single bunk bed. The fourth bedroom is reserved for groups of 11 or more, and is the bunkie, a detached sleeping cabin in the woods (close to the cottage). It is available for smaller groups for an additional charge of $99. Also found off the hallway is the laundry area and large, spa-like bathroom. This area has been designed to offer luxurious finishes such as slate and granite, with a huge stone rain head shower and jetted jacuzzi tub. There is also a skylight positioned in the centre of the room to capture as much light as possible. Relax, treat yourself! For large groups (11 or more) for those of you really wanting to commune with nature, may we suggest a night in the bunkie. Set back in the woods about 80 feet from the back door of the cottage is an adorable little cabin with a huge picture window, hardwood floors and a double sleeper sofa. Although it can get hot or cold at various times of the year, it is cozy and surrounded by nature. Outside, we have left a 14 foot aluminum row boat for you to use, along with a variety of sizes of life jackets, and dip net, all of which are on a use-at-your-own risk basis. Favourite outdoor activities include fishing, dip netting, canoeing or kayaking (bring own), going out in the boat, nature walks, birding and nature photography, exploring the property, trampolining, outdoor bonfires, XC skiing and snowshoeing, tobogganing, and hide and seek. For those of you who would like to bring your own equipment, Mount St. Louis is only a 20 minute drive for skiing or snowboarding, or for those bringing ATV's, Honey Harbour is an ATV friendly town, and it is not uncommon to see them on the road. Boats can also be launched in town, and our lake is ideal for Seadoos. If you are a snowmobiler, you can take off onto the lake right in front. There are also lots of places to go on the property itself with bike, or sleds. Many of the children who visit the cottage spend hours dip netting and fishing from the dock, or playing on the grounds. Many parents are surprised to see them actually playing, like we used to, not merely providing a landing pad for a phone, ipod or other electronic devices. Suggestion ... leave those items locked in the car, only use in case of emergency LOL. Just a quick note about the waterfront. I describe the waterfront as a shallow, natural, wildlife waterfront. The shining blue waters in the Spring give way to wetland grasses and lily pads in the summer. After the first frost in the fall, the weeds disappear, returning the lake to its blue waters in time for winter, when they freeze into a sheet of ice. THE WATERFRONT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR SWIMMING. I put this in upper case letters simply to ensure that you see it. Dip net, fish, seadoo, boat, canoe, kayak, have fires beside it, gaze at the stars above it, but please do not swim in it. There are 2 beautiful sandy beaches within a 2 or 5 mile drive. The bottom can be a bit mucky here and the weeds do grow in. If tons of swimming, right out front, is what you crave, then this is not the right cottage for you. Most of our guests are either family groups, or mature adult groups looking for a place to relax, cooks some nice meals, drink some good wine, and reconnect with each other and with nature in a relaxing and comfortable setting. We take a lot of pride in providing a nice, clean, well maintained cottage, at an affordable price, within which you can make lasting memories with your friends and loved ones.
We have a very busy lifestyle in the GTA and needed somewhere where we could just completely get away from it all. We see neighbours all week long, and wanted a cottage where the only neighbours we saw were beavers, deer, geese, ducks, rabbits, fish and turtles (I could go on...) The odd time a fisherman makes it on to the lake, and the odd cross country skier heads by in the winter, and of course the snowmobilers speed by a few times a day at Mach 10, but other than that-complete peace, tranquility and privacy. Aaahhh. We come here to reconnect as a family, recharge our batteries, commune with nature and; sometimes, just do nothing. We always feel blessed to arrive and regretful to leave. Heaven on Earth.
  • Awesome stay at Lisa's place! Very good communication from the host the whole time. Really cosy atmosphere and plenty of space for a big group. Gorgeous winter cottage area!

  • Really nice cottage, place is bigger than pictures show. Lisa was very quick to respond and detailed with instructions. As advertised it is very private, has a great lookout of the sky which was excellent for my telescope. Only downside I can think of was that all the knives were dull. Other than that it was perfect!

  • The place is perfect for a group, there were 7 of us, including 3 young children plus a family dog. There was lots of space to spread out. The large kitchen made it easy to have several cooks at the same time. The beds were very comfortable. The beach and water were clean and inviting and were perfect for children, make sure to bring water shoes as the entry to the water is a bit rocky. Communication with J was always quick and courteous. Thanks again.

  • Thank you Jenny for being an amazing host. This was definitely one of the best cottage experiences of my life. The house was amazing with full amenities. I will definitely recommend this to everyone who is looking for a quick getaway from the city.

The beds were comfy and the kitchen and washroom are updated. JJ is an excellent host and responded to any queries in a timely manner. Great spot!

Come stay in our little piece of heaven on the shores of Georgian Bay in lovely Honey Harbour - only 1.5 hours north of the GTA. Our Lakehouse boasts 3 bedrooms, 2 full bath, a full kitchen, dining room and common area, with an attached screened in Muskoka Room. Our newly built two tier deck is large enough to entertain and relax on and leads to a large grassy lawn - perfect for families with young children.
You can play in the water along the iconic shores of Georgian Bay where gentle sloped rock and sand lead into deeper water, making for excellent swimming conditions - OR lounge on your own private dock with Southern and Western exposure - perfect for famous Georgian Bay sunsets. The Lakehouse comes with access to a canoe, two kayaks, two bikes, sand toys, lawn games and pool noddles. Everything you need to enjoy the property. Please note we allow up to 6 adults and 2 children. We feel the space is not large enough for 8 adults. No pets allowed. The Lakehouse is also winterized and is on the main snowmobile trail. A great place to stay to enjoy the beauty of winter with heaps of snow to build forts in, direct to access snowmobile trails and a short 25 minute drive to skiing at Mount St. Louis Moonstone.
The small town charm of Honey Harbour is just minutes away and has waterfront dining, cafes, grocery stores and a local park to offer. Port Severn, a 15 minute drive, offers golf, pub food and fine dining, cafes and a water park.
  • The cottage was clean and so nicely put together that you feel at home as soon as you get there. The deck is a great space, big beautiful sliding doors in every room that faces the water, a big lawn in the back for playing family games and running around - it is so nicely mowed with pretty flowers planted nearby. Stacy was responsive to all of my questions. I look forward to rebooking for next year!

  • Probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed in. Waking up on a private island to fog rolling over the lake as the sun rises and geese fly through the air - incredible sights!!!!! And views from all sides of house! Dan was awesome! Super helpful and accommodating! We really enjoyed fishing off the docks, canoeing, and running around in all that greenery!

  • Cottage was absolutely fantastic, had everything that we needed. Lake views were beautiful, water was great. Daniel met us in the marina to take us over, he is a wonderful host. One thing specifically that surprised me was how we were welcome to use the wood shed on the property for fires, very convenient so we didn't have to lug wood on the barge. Everything in the cottage was great, would definitely rent again.

    Andrew2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful, with spectacular views (especially at sunset). Daniel is an excellent host, who went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our trip!

  • This property is absolutely beautiful and looks exactly as advertised in the pictures. Daniel was an excellent host. He was easy to communicate with, he helped to boat our entire group across and showed us around the place which made us feel very welcome. There is lots of space, tons of fun outdoor games (we played all of them)...it was an absolute blast! Thank you so much for the hospitality :)

  • My family of 4 + dog spent 10 peaceful and relaxing days at Jan's island in Honey Harbour. The cottage met our needs perfectly and the water could not have been better. One side of the island had a shallow beach where my youngest daughter collected rocks and made a huge breakthrough in her swimming. The other side was perfect for diving off the dock and swimming to a nearby island. We had fantastic weather, the cottage was as described in listing / pictures, and Jan was a very helpful and responsive host, answering inquiries, arranging water taxis as needed, and supplying us with boardgames and puzzles. Her visiting family was an extra delight. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. I would definitely recommend this rental for high quality family time for anyone looking to unplug and reconnect.

    Krista2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This property is a summer dream escape! Being on our own island was magical and Jan was very welcoming and answered all of our questions. The pictures actually do not even do this property justice, it is really beautiful! Very clean inside while still maintaining a rustic feeling. Jan helped us get set up on arrival and was very helpful. The space is perfect because you have the lake and dock on one side, and a walk in beach on the other. Water taxi was an extra fee but worth it to have an island to ourselves. We would definitely return.
