Places to stay in Cape Otway
Coastal cool for two. Our little one bedroom beach house is 100 steps to the water. Its sunny north wall ( that's right..wall ) slides open to bring the outside in. There are decks, a sea view and the sound of the waves. Village a ten minute stroll.
We have always loved little beach houses, so we decided to build one. Of course, it is obligatory for a beach house to have a beach.....ours is opposite. You will find comfortable accommodation for one or two people in our new, open plan, little house. We like that the architect included a sliding wall that can open the living area to the outside deck on sunny days. We also like that we can batten down the hatches in winter and turn on the log fire. The bedroom has its own little deck too, just because..... There is plenty of cooking equipment. Yes, wine glasses, coffee and teas included. All linen is provided.
Apollo Bay sits at the foot of the Otway Ranges, by the Southern Ocean. It is a sea change kind of place with real live locals. Find them fishing, playing golf or footy, walking in the national parks, surfing, swimming, and at the Saturday market.
  • A really small and fine place to stay! Location right on the Great Ocean Road, just steps from the beach. You can eat on the terrace. The equipment was very good - everything you need was there! Super clean!

  • This place was one of the best AirBNBs we’ve stayed at. We felt right at home the second we arrived. Amazing location, amazing kitchen, super cosy couch after a day of hiking or beaching. My wife and I enjoyed playing a few card games by the fire, enjoyed a bottle of wine or two, and loved the cozy couch and sounds of the waves crashing along the shore as we sleep. I would highly recommend this place.

  • Cute modern beach pad close to beach and shops/restaurants. Very stylish and comfortable loved the big door to deck and gas fire.

  • Rex's place is just metres from the beach and sparkling clean, it has everything you need for Two people. It is walking distance to the beach and shops and Apollo Bay is positioned beautifully for exploring the local area and the Great Ocean Road. Thanks again for having us Rex.

  • This is a wonderfully designed, modern and thoughtful home from which to explore Apollo Bay and the Ocean Road. The bedroom is very comfortable and restful. We enjoyed it very much.

  • We’ve stayed here before and love it! The space is so stylish and well appointed and exactly what we need. The location is great too. It’s close to the beach and the beautiful farmland behind Apollo Bay and only a short drive to see the koalas. And nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of the waves! We’ll definitely be back again.

This is a separate apartment, upstairs, detached from the family home This apartment is offering a private bedroom with queen sized bed and a large, comfortable sofa bed in the living area. Breakfast is not included, but there is a Microwave, Fridge, Kettle and Toaster, but NOT an oven or stove. Sorry for the inconvenience. Plenty of free parking. Free WiFi, TV, and there are a number of DVDs for your selection.
Nice outside decking to relax and enjoy the view.
  • Friendly host with good local knowledge. Very clean, cleanest bathroom of any airbnb I've stayed in. Good shower pressure. Both beds comfortable. Water from the tap tasted better than Melbourne water. Had everything we needed, amenities well thought out. Great location with parrots visiting on the deck and koalas close by. 3 mins from the main street of Apollo Bay and yet so peaceful.

  • David was a lovely host, we really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back one day. Everything was spotless clean and well looked after, amazing location.

    Ronja2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • David was a great host during our two day stay just outside Apollo Bay. This homestay is located amongst estate size dwellings. The apartment backs into a huge backyard. Since David lives in the adjoining larger home, he is available to assist with anything that may come up. He was very warm and helpful, a true Superhost. It's on the second floor, so there is a staircase to climb, but the views are great.

  • What a fantastic beach hut. We were unfortunately moved from our previously booked accommodation due to a burst hot water system and Lisa suggested we stay in the Beach Hut. We were extremely pleased with this accommodation. A very comfortable stay and everything you needed was provided.

  • We had a great stay it this cozy little beach hut. Just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. You can year the crashing of the waves from the beach hut to give a great vibe. It opens into a charming little garden with heaps of native birds in the garden. Kitchen and bathroom were awesome. Had a lovely relaxing stay.

  • For a stop in Apollo Bay, this is a wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable and spacious for a studio. The bathroom has radiant heat which is a lovely touch. The location is great, a few steps from town though private and quiet. You can see ocean from the patio. Lisa made everything easy for us.

    Sofie2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great space with amazing views. Perfect for couples, short walk to the beach, the general store and the pub. Very comfortable space, great bed and the bath has a perfect vantage point. The view is spectacular and we never got over it.

    Bernie2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely breathtaking views and incredibly luxurious house. The bath, deck and fireplace were a few of the highlights. The owner did seem to have issue with people coming and going, which was uncomfortable as it was our wedding. However, we couldn't fault the property and would stay again.

    Jordan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The most amazing property, can’t fault it the views are outstanding didn’t want to leave. It seems to be owned and run by a ghost though as there was zero communication.

    Louise2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views, made our weekend extra special! Thanks for creating a wonderful space

    Dan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Private, quiet and picturesque. Saw kangaroos, koalas, stingrays, dolphins and parakeets regularly over the four days. Gardens were being updated and a new private beach track added to the qtmosphere. We met the owners who were lovely and keen to make our stay enjoyable. We will be back next year.

    Janette2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing for a couples get away. The view is second to none. The space inside was perfect for what we were after on the final leg of our trip. Being the final leg and with million dollar views we were looking forward to soaking up the views from the balcony but unfortunately the pictures weren’t accurate at all, there were 2 plastic chairs and a small table big enough for a couple of drinks and an ash tray. Also the renovation next door cutting timber was a bit of a drag but overall this place is mint. The general store is great, as is the pub. The wildlife was awesome ( koalas, cockatoos, many bird species)We would recommend this place anytime. Hopefully the seating becomes a bit more fitting of the location soon. Todd

Take a step back in time, to bygone era, where life was simpler, where people spent time with dignified entertainment and life seemed to have more space and time. Welcome back to the great age of Steam. The train was used as a workshop, when the original owner was building the house next door (also a Dufflebird property, Otway's Loft). In 2015 we renovated the derelict carriage to the vaguely steam-punk style holiday accommodation. It is available year round and can sleep up to 6 guests.
When we started renovating, the carriage did not have enough intact to restore it, so we have developed our own style that is vaguely steam-punk influenced. It took nine months to renovate the train from a pretty ragged start. Almost every surface had to have something done to it, and we found that carriages were really tightly put together (all that rattling) and hard to pull apart. When we did get panels off, we had no idea what we would find. We completely stripped and rewired the electrical, and did plumbing from scratch. Renovating anything over 100 years will have its challenges, but this was exceptional. It was opened for guests in July 2015. It is still a work in progress, there is a lot more to do before it reaches our vision, but we have been astounded by it's popularity. Special features include : - Can sleep 6 but 2 or 4 would be more comfortable. See Sleeping Options below. - 3 Bedrooms. Two in a single compartment with a double compartment master bed room. Two Queen beds, two thin train singles. - Full linen service with beds made up for you on arrival. - Bathroom with shower - Open plan kitchen/living room - Wood fire box heater with wood supply included - Full small kitchen with stove, oven, sink, fridge and cupboards - WiFi - Italian Stove top coffee maker and French Press (plunger) - Basic provisions like olive oil, spices, tea, coffee, Vegemite and Glad Wrap With great regret we no longer offer the four free bikes. The expectation of having bikes in good working order was a service we could not reliably offer without living nearby and maintaining them between guests. Bring your own mountain bikes or you can hire bikes at Forrest Hire Bikes, two minutes walk away. - Pets and children welcome. The yard is fenced but a clever dog could easily escape. NO TV. There is a stereo, books and board games. There is not a washing machine, nor dryer. Steam, certainly wont be for everyone, but we have had great feedback from the young and the young at heart. There seems to be a great fondness for the "Great Age of Steam", when locomotives were king! In the late 1800's trains were the greatest technological achievement of humans, they opened new horizons, and were a symbol of power and progress. We hope we have tapped in to this, and we're excited to be able to share it with guests. If you have instagram, you can follow both our guests and our personal stays at @dufflebird_getaways
Forrest is a gorgeous small town of weatherboard shacks, surrounded by towering Mountain Ash rain forest with lush ferny under-story. The dawn birdsong is deafening. There is a lot to do around Forrest even if you are not a mountain biker. Ten Things To Do •Walk around Lake Elizabeth or take the platypus tour. •Go mountain biking on Victoria’s best trail network. With great regret we no longer offer the four free bikes. The expectation of having bikes in good working order was a service we could not reliably offer without living nearby and maintaining them between guests. Bring your own mountain bikes or you can hire bikes at Forrest Hire Bikes, two minutes walk away. •Visit Otways Fly and zip line (Longest and highest rainforest sky walk in the world ) •Bushwalk to waterfalls and Redwood Forest. (Hopetoun Falls, Triplet Falls, Beauchamp Falls, Stevenson Falls). •Forrest Historic Walk •Visit local Wineries and Berry Farms •Forrest Brewery for lunch •Forrest Guesthouse for weekend degustation lunch or dinner. •Brae Restaurant •Spoil yourself and make it a long weekend. Take the Great Ocean Road home on Monday when there is no one around.
  • Steam carriage is really different - and a great way to spend a few days in Forrest to explore the fantastic Otway.

    Stretch2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really unique and 'cool' place to stay in the lovely township of Forrest. The carriage has a lovely feel to it, lots of original features but all the mod cons you need as well. The very comfy beds with high quality bedding and the silence of the country gave us a wonderful nights sleep. We took our dog with us and he had ball. The plot isn't securely fenced yet but I believe the owners are planning do that soon. Would definitely stay there again.

    Hilary2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Steam was even better than it looked it the photos, and it was obvious a lot of thought has been put into the details of every part of the carriage. Fleur also provided a lot of local tips. Highly recommended!

    Alice2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. The mosquito is a little bit more. Always pay attention to close the door all the time. Except for that, everything is fantastic.

    Shanqi2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The best, most thoughtful host I’ve ever had. From local tips to the little touches on the property, you can tell that Fleur really cares about the place and everyone that stays here. It was the perfect weekend.

    David2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Steam Carriage exceeded all of our expectations for the better, and it truly was the most fun we have ever had at an AirBnB. The original 1920s steam carriage character has been preserved beautifully, while having fully functioning modern day luxuries i.e. waterfall rain shower head, heating, a full sized gas oven & stovetop. Our favourite addition to the carriage was the firebox. Forest itself is a perfectly quant town of just 230, perfect if you wanted to get away from it all or use it as a base for the Otways & Great Ocean Road. Highly recommend Fleur for her communication, and for such a unique stay!

    Aaron2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This train carriage is full of charm. From eating breakfast outside to the nighttime games by the fire place. Not to mention such a great location. Recommended.

WELCOME to a little piece of paradise. On an organic farm, bordering Cape Otway National Park, surrounded by trees, koalas, birds and other wildlife, is a unique, beautifully designed, eco-friendly "tiny-home", built from a shipping-container, and up-cycled building materials. It features a green-house bathroom with a hot tub surrounded by lush ferns and tropical flowers. Relax and rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. And explore the world famous attractions of the Great Ocean Road.
The Welcome-Swallow Hideaway, is situated on an acre of an organic farm, on the edge of the eucalypt and myrtle forest of the national park . The quiet and serenity, the beautiful views, the comfortable cosy living space and the abundance wildlife make it an excellent place to stay, and as a base to explore The Great Ocean Road, or holiday with family or friends, or to simply just escape the city and slow down. A family of Koalas live in the trees of the national park, right next to the house. We also regularly see kangaroos, wallabies, possums, echidnas and many native birds. There are hiking trails just behind the cabin. From every window in the cabin you can look out into the eucalypt forest, or out across the rolling green hills. The sunny north-facing deck provides stunning views over the Aire valley. Here on the edge of the wilderness, the air is so alive and fresh, that simply breathing feels like an act of self-care. You will feel a sense of calm, of being hugged by nature. The cabin is designed from a shipping-container, which now serves as the bedroom, extended with recovered and new building materials, to produce a light-filled kitchen/dining /lounge area, and an amazing bathroom greenhouse. The beds are comfortable and warm. The pot-belly fireplace heats up the home beautifully. The bathroom greenhouse is a living sanctuary of lush ferns, vines, flowers, terrariums, and pot plants. There is nothing better than a hot candle-lit bath or shower, amongst the greenery, looking up through the windows at the moon or starlit sky. The large hot-tub comfortably fits 2 (and can fit up to 4 adults), so make a night of it, and pamper yourself. We even have a towel warmer! The kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cooking and baking, for those who like to get creative in the kitchen. Espresso coffee maker and fresh ground coffee are provided, as well as milk, tea, sugar, cooking oil and some fresh herbs and medicinal teas from our herb garden. Appliances include refrigerator with freezer, gas stovetop, oven and grill, a rice-cooker, toaster, kettle and blender. We have all the kitchen utensils and baking dishes you are likely to need. The home is designed to support the ecological values of our organic farm, and the pristine environment of the Otways. Choosing to stay in our eco-friendly accommodation allows you to enjoy a beautiful relaxing holiday while leaving no impact on the natural environment you have come here to enjoy. The Welcome Swallow Hideaway has been a special project for my daughter and I. It is ecologically-friendly, comfortable and stylish, and now we want to share it with you. We named the cabin after a pair of Welcome-Swallows who made a mud-nest on the front porch during the summer, raising a family of 4 baby swallows. Their presence made us feel welcomed. We hope our guest will experience this same sense of welcome. It is a very special place.
The location for tourists is ideal. A perfect base for exploring the Otways. We are 20 minutes drive from Apollo Bay with shops restaurants, a harbour and safe swimming beach. We are 90 minutes drive from the Twelve Apostles and historic Port Campbell, 30 minutes from Blanket Bay and the Cape Otway lighthouse, and right on the doorstep of some of the worlds most beautiful ancient temperate rainforests, waterfalls, glow-worm forest, hiking trails and world famous coastlines. We are within walking distance for those of you walking The Great Ocean Walk (60 minutes walk from Aire River), if you want to escape the cold weather and soak your tired legs in our hot-tub

  • It is a really nice spot along the Great Ocean Road, it is in a camp ground so be aware that it is camping cabin. It was all very clean and it is also very close to some hikes around the campsite. There seemed to be lots of activities to do within the campsite but we were only there for the night. Great experience overall.

    Laine2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful inside the natural reserve. All was good. Just we didn't know there was a BBQ area so we didn't buy nothing to cook or warm up and you had everything. Thanks a lot

  • Great stay! Saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed feeding the chickens!

    Ilya2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely view from the pod into the landscape. Toilets nearby, showers a bit hard to find with the map provided. Other than that: lovely place to stay, with the pods a bit further off it really feels like you're in the wilderness ;)

  • Amazing environment right in the middle of the park. We had a kangaroo outside our window in the morning and a koala in the tree nearby. Loved walking around and seeing the animals! The cabin we booked was roomy and had everything we needed.

  • The park and surrounds was great. Close to many bush walks and the staff were warm and friendly.

  • It was wonderful! The caravanpark is in a perfect spot far from loud streets and under gumtrees, we even saw koalas! The owners are very friendly. We got a free upgrade, the cabin was very clean and had everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable, we just spent one night but we would have loved to stay longer, I can definetly recommend coming here.

  • I stayed at Bimbi Park for one night while travelling on the Great Ocean Road and wish I could have stayed longer. The place is incredible - so much to see and do, a nice relaxed vibe and great, friendly staff. I stayed in one of the cabins and it looked like it was pretty new or just renovated, everything was spotless clean, the bed was super comfy. Highly recommend!

  • Frank’s place is a great campground. The location in the Otway Park is gorgeous and the campground itself is great. Our cabin was very comfortable with all the amenities we could ask for. There’s a great playground for the kids and a mild walk to the ocean. The staff is knowledgeable about the area and were a great help in suggesting stopping points on our drive. Great place and we’ll be returning

It is your perfect coastal-countryside getaway. The location could not be more ideal. We are located midway along the Great Ocean Road, a world heritage listed tourist destination. Our eco-friendly, charming, comfortable and rustic cabin sits on 7 acres of bush and organic and farmland, looking out over the Aire Valley. The property is bordered on two sides by the Cape Otway National Park, an undisturbed native forest filled with ferns, moss, ancient Myrtle and Eucalyptus trees, with koalas, wallabies, possums and many species of native birds and other animals. The light filled open-plan dining-lounge area features polished timber floors, comfortable lounge seating and a warm cosy potbelly wood-fire heater that heats up the whole house beautifully. The interior décor is interesting and unusual, inspired by natural art forms. Two decks surround the property for you to enjoy the views and the outdoors. A large, enclosed deck area with very comfortable outdoor seating for 6 people, and a sunny north facing deck, provide an ideal location to relax and enjoy our stunning 360 unobstructed views of Aire Valley and the undisturbed wilderness of the Otways National park. A sofa in the loungeroom unfolds into a comfortable double bed, and a pull-out single mattress provides comfortable extra beds, the house sleeps up to 6 people. From the comfortable outdoors seating area of the deck you can read, play board games, relax, or observe Koalas and many species of birds, which can be seen daily in the trees right outside the house. Not a day goes by we don’t see Koalas, particularly mothers and babies, sleeping and eating gum-leaves. If you have never seen Koalas in their natural habitat, you will be sure to see many here, we have several families of Koalas living in the trees right outside our back door, just a few meters from our house. Other native animals regularly visit the property as they emerge from the forest to graze at sunset. Animals spotted regularly include Wallabies, Echidnas, Kookaburras, Rosellas, King Parrots, Wedge Tail eagles, Cockatoos, boo-book and powerful Owls at night, and of course the ever present beautiful Blue Wren (Splendid Fairy Wren). The Blue Wren Hideaway is a bird-watcher's dream come true. Sitting quietly in the forrest for just ten minutes you are likely to spot at least 10 different species of birds. We provide binoculars for our guests to enjoy. For keen astronomy enthusiasts, at night, while listening to the owls, you can enjoy unobstructed views of the night sky to the south and west. With no light pollution, the Milky Way is dazzling, and its neighbouring galaxies are easily visible to the naked eye. Bring a telescope if you have one, or use the binoculars provided. The space is ideal for romantic weekend getaways, family vacations or for groups of friends exploring the great ocean road and tourist destinations. Its a wonderful place to just relax and unwind. • The cabin is very cozy, with a lot of love for details. All the descriptions made it very easy to check-in and find the place. Murray is fast answering. Best is the location of the cabin on a large premise with many trees where a lot of koala are living just on your doorstep! It was just fantastic to see the koala and live so close to them! Highly recommended if you love nature - we will definitely be back!

  • Murray's Blue Wren Hideaway was the ultimate accommodation for a weekend visit to the Otways. The space was much bigger than we expected so there was plenty of room for us all, the property was stunning and perfectly tucked away making for a peaceful and serene experience. We saw plenty of native wildlife plus the location is only a 20 minute drive to the main shops etc. Highly recommend for an authentic and immersive Otways getaway. Thank you Murray! We look forward to coming again for future visits!

  • The place is at middle of nowhere and that's exactly what we wanted and liked the most. The cabin is at a huge green area amidst big trees with plenty of koalas on them. We got to hear roars of the koalas which was a surprise gift to us. There was a baby deer roaming around as well. Beautifully decorated cabin and plenty of sleeping spaces for 5 of us.

  • This place is absolutely breathtaking. From the pod itself to the wildlife you wake up to, my partner and I couldn't fault it. We almost don't want to say how incredible it is so it can be our little secret. Max was a great host, too, and had so many wonderful tips that we followed and were so glad we did! We'll definitely be back! The only thing we'll do differently next time is stock up on supplies so we don't have to leave.

  • The property and host are amazing! The experience of sleeping and waking up to the most gorgeous view was definitely one of the highlights of this trip. House is clean and very tastefully done up. Every aspect is well thought out. And the best part is the negligible or rather neutral carbon footprint that we leave while staying on this property. Its design and concept are absolutely inspirational!

  • What an incredible getaway! Not only are these pods on the most amazing stretch of land, but on your doorstep is the beautiful national park, all the way down to the beach. Well worth taking your walking shoes and making the most of the time there. The view is spectacular and early morning show from the roos an added bonus!

Wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Please note owners are onsite adjacent to guest accomadation. Semi Off Grid and located only a short drive west of Apollo Bay along the iconic Great Ocean Road and nestled amongst the gum trees. It is a rare day when you won’t spot a koala on the property. The Loft is spacious and adjacent to our family home with a common deck but otherwise completely seperate apartment above the shed. The property is full of wildlife along with our animals... sheep, chickens and our dog Shadow and cat Spot!
Wake up to the birds chirping and the leaves rustling in the breeze... The loft is an open plan area above our shed with a beautiful wood fire only to keep you warm (all wood supplied). With a kitchenette with a 4 burner gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso Coffee machine along with the bathroom with shower and toilet located downstairs (there is no sink in the bathroom, however a sink is located just outside the bathroom door in the kitchenette) Being a rural property our services are self contained. We are on Tank water and have hybrid solar power system in place. You may notice a few push light switches, to eliminate lights being left on. The TV reception is via satellite, so is a little bit different to your normal channels. A selections of books and DVD’s or hard drive can be made available upon request from our personal collection. We can also add a single fold away bed or porta cot if needed to cater for small children. We are pet friendly, however we request they don’t go on the furniture and aren’t left inside by themselves. We can organise a fenced area outside for them.. just need to ask! Also there is an extra $20 cleaning fee (our cleaners need to spend longer making sure no signs of your pet are left behind for the next guests!)
  • Great loft in a beautiful and peaceful hobby farm overlooking the hills and the bay. The hosts are super friendly and made us feel at home. Our dogs enjoyed the free space to explore. Overall a great place for a relaxing time!

  • Thank you for having us at this amazing property - we wish it was ours, absolutely perfect for us, our inquisitive toddler and our dog. Don’t let ‘eco-lodge’ turn you off - the amenities are perfect, plenty of space and you’d never know this property was solar powered. Perfection for a city family looking to unwind and reconnect

  • We had a great stay in the Otways. While the accommodation is compact, it was more than spacious for our group. We saw (and heard!) several Koala during our stay which was a delight for the non-Victorians of the team. The Otways is a beautiful region, which made the journey to the accommodation all the more enjoyable. The only thing to note is it's pretty sparse with cooking essentials (namely oil) – when in doubt, bring some with you!

  • Fantastic EcoLodge. Comfortable, well-equipped and so so quiet. Koalas in the trees nearby and wallabies in the field next door. Loved the place!

  • Peaceful property on a secluded block. No firewood was provided for me so check with the host before your stay or bring your own from the service station in Apollo Bay (firewood and kindling). The place is in tip top shape and the bed was super comfy. Would visit again!

  • The house was beautiful and in a lovely secluded location. Perfect for visiting Cape Otway.

  • Amazing views, peaceful and tranquil surroundings. This is a great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed spotting the wildlife, and waking up to the sun shining through the windows, having our morning coffee on the porch and listening to the bird's!

The location is excellent and there are so many short walls you can do. The Bimbi park is a must visit and stay place when visiting the Great Ocean Road. We are definitely coming back.

  • What a great nights stay at a Bimbi Park under the Koalas. The facilities were great value for money and the location was great. Saw many Koalas even in the trees beside our cabin which made it that more special. Lovely peaceful environment that was what we needed before hitting the road again. Thanks Frank

  • Located in the national park, it blends with the natural environment. A koala is seen in the tree in front of the cabin, and many kangaroos are also nearby. It is more convenient to drive by car, the facilities are relatively complete, and the reception staff is very friendly.

The Alyeska Loft is one of two guest spaces on the Alyeska Apollo Bay Holiday Rentals farm stay. This loft is a peaceful and charming studio apartment with a cute A-frame design, overlooking the green rolling hills of the farm. The loft features a king bed, a kitchen and bathroom, and a delightful sitting area with a potbelly fireplace. Filled with natural light, this is the perfect spot to relax.
The perfect spot to retire after exploring the Great Ocean Road, the Otway Forest or Apollo Bay’s beautiful beaches. Enjoy a walk around the farm’s hills and view the free range sheep - or koala or wallaby if you’ve got a keen eye! Enjoy free wifi and a TV with a Chromecast - so you don’t need to wait to watch the next episode of the show you’re watching on Netflix; and you can stream your own movies, music etc through the TV from your smartphone on the wifi. If you’re looking to disconnect and get away from it all, you can choose a book (a mix of genres to keep you entertained) or a board game from our shelf and just switch off from technology and enjoy the space to relax. Take it easy and enjoy the afternoon light from the couch, or the beanbag so you can sit and look out the window over Apollo Bay’s hills. The kitchen features a small stove, basic crockery and cutlery and kitchenette with fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave so you can start the day with breakfast and a cuppa, or bring back a simple dinner from the town centre (we recommend the bakery or the noodle house in Apollo Bay!) The Alyeska Loft is a studio apartment that is located above our other AirBnB property - the Alyeska Cottage. The two spaces can be booked separately, or at the same time if you have more guests to accommodate. Just search Alyeska Cottage to check availability, and get in touch to arrange booking both spaces together.
Apollo Bay town centre is just 10 minutes drive from Alyeska Farm. There’s a lot to see and do, including visiting the beach or taking a hike on the Great Ocean Walk. Check out some of the tourist attractions in the area like the Cape Otway Lighthouse, the glow worms at Mait’s Rest at night time, the Otway Fly tree top walk and zip line tour, and much more. The property is also a great spot to stay if you’re visiting the famous 12 Apostles as the incredible world heritage landmark is only 90 minutes’ drive from Alyeska Apollo Bay Holiday Rentals. If you’re a foodie, or just looking to relax, there are a lot of great places in town to visit including the Great Ocean Road Brewhouse with its great local beverages and produce, or the Apollo Bay Bakery with its famous scallop pies. There are a lot of great cafés and restaurants and some lovely gift shops on the main strip. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you can even check out some delicious locally made ice creams at Dooley’s Ice Cream shop!
  • We loved this place and the location was absolutely incredible. We walked down the hills near the property and it was very beautiful. The place was perfect for a cosy holiday in Apollo bay

Room is really nice, very clean and a good size for two people. All the amenities you could need for a few days to a week. Lots of useful visitor info and well-stocked on all the essentials. • We loved the peace and quiet of this secluded property. The gardens are beautiful, as is the art inside the house and dotted around the garden. Perfect.

    Trevor2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had driven out to Mark’s property on Friday night, after a week of work and a drive in the dark. Imagine then our happiness when we pulled up to the property, turned the key and found the lights on, soft jazz playing, and the most welcoming little country house. It was a wonderful beginning to a restorative weekend in a magical part of the world. The property is 6km from Apollo Bay, but feels like it’s much further away than that (in a very good way). Tucked into the dramatic hills and steep valleys of the Otways, and backing right onto native bushland, the mornings here are full of birdsong, the earthy smell of the forest and dappled sunlight. We cooked breakfast in the well- equipped, generous kitchen and took mid- morning strolls around the beautiful gardens and grounds (while admiring the view, the flowers and the many birds); in the evenings we used the bbq to cook up a feast and then sank into the comfy couches around the log fire. The cottage had everything we needed: consistent hot water, comfortable beds, clean linen, and air conditioning (we used it briefly on arrival to quickly warm up the place as we had arrived very late at night- it worked well!). The art pieces on the walls and in the gardens definitely added character and colour to the place! The location was the perfect base to explore both the Otways and the surf coast/ great ocean road, but with a property like this, you’d be hard pressed to leave. The house and grounds were a tranquil retreat and a balm for the soul, and we feel very privileged to have shared the space, even if it was just for a while. We can’t wait to be back.

    Xing2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Exceeded my expectations, glorious gardens, stunning art and a proper ‘off the grid’ escape.

    Jacqueline2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot for a short or a long retreat. House is delightful and comfortable, the garden is absolutely magical and the location is something else. Says a lot for a place that it can be shrouded in mist/clouds, rain nonstop and blow a gale for two days straight and you still wish you never had to leave.

  • Beautiful house and surrounds. Loved the log fire and games room!

  • Lovely house in a beautiful and peaceful location. Loved the games room.

    Meriel2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully curated oasis in the hinterland above Apollo Bay and the perfect set-up for a restorative break. Such a pleasure to be surrounded by art, comfy furniture and gorgeous gardens. Easy to cook & feel at home in - it became a welcome retreat after hot beach days and wet days exploring the Redwoods and Lighthouse. Loved sitting on the shady Verandah overlooking lush hills in the evening with a glass of wine in hand, doing yoga / playing boules on the lawn, lunching on the deck, and playing Uno around the roaring fire. The games room was an added bonus for family fun!

10 minutes from the Apollo Bay main town, this is the perfect spot to relax. The Alyeska Cottage sits on a farm amongst the rolling hills of the Otways above Apollo Bay. Filled with natural light with views of the farm’s hills. The cottage is a private studio with a second AirBnB accomodation, the Alyeska Loft, sitting above it (can be booked all together for groups). The cottage features a queen bed, as well as a pull out sofa bed and fold out single bed for those with kids or looking to share.
If you’re looking to disconnect and get away from it all, you can choose a book (a mix of genres for grown ups and kids too) or a board game from our shelf and just switch off from technology and enjoy the space to relax. We’ve got an extendable dining table, a sofa, and a beanbag so you can choose where to relax. The cottage is an open plan space with a queen bed, a pull out sofa bed, and a fold up single bed. If you’re looking for a bit more space, you can also book our second AirBnB space, Alyeska Loft, which sits directly above the cottage. The two spaces can be booked together or separately. Both have studio style bedroom spaces. Features basic crockery and cutlery and kitchenette with fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave so you can start the day with breakfast and a cuppa, or bring back a simple dinner from the town centre (we recommend the bakery or the noodle house in Apollo Bay!)

  • A beautiful place to stay in Apollo Bay. About a 15 minute drive from town. It was nice and quiet. As it was very windy and rainy when we went it was a lovely place to stay cuddled up inside.

    Isabel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage provides an amazing escape from everyday city life. It is somewhat isolated and gives you an opportunity to disconnect and just enjoy. Even on days like we had, where the farm was completely blanketed with fog and with strong winds, we still had an excellent relaxing experience. The amenities were clean and very comfortable, including the bed. We just wish we'd had a few extra days to enjoy!

    Eva2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A breathtakingly beautiful location offering tranquility and privacy. A refreshing holiday from city life in a clean and comfortable lodge.

  • Geoffrey's place was fantastic, well- equipped and furnished! Geoff readily welcomed us and ensured we were well settled into the place. We had a lovely chat with him over wine and learnt local tips on spotting wildlife. Absolutely lovely stay, highly recommended!

  • Perfect place if you want to wake up in an ocean of nature and want to observe koalas and kangaroos from your veranda! Geoffrey is very helpful and friendly!

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Geoffrey’s place was a perfect location for a weekend escape from Melbourne. We particularly enjoyed its proximate to the Cape Otway lighthouse, Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles. - It also wasn’t bad waking up to Kookaburras and Kangaroos 🦘

    Chris2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Geoffrey is an absolute legend! He made us feel welcomed right at home from the get-go. His property is a little piece of gold in the heart of the otways, where you can see all the wildlife... RIGHT AT YOUR FRONT DOOR. The added bonus is his dog, who is a delight!

    Thi2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely secluded apartment away from the crowds! We had a very relaxing stay. The place was clean and had everything we needed for a quiet getaway!

    Crystal2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • The second-floor independent apartment has full kitchen facilities. Kangaroos and rabbits can often be seen outside the window. The mattresses are comfortable and the rooms are very clean. The Geoffrey people are very nice. Remind that if you use google navigation, the last navigation prompt is "turn left, the destination is on the right". At this time, the correct way is to turn right to enter the host's yard.

    Tao2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. The apartment itself is clean and tidy - simple, but everything you need is there. Geoff's place is situated on a beautiful piece of property and we saw a wallaby, several kangaroos, kookaburras, and so many beautiful birds. We took a wonderful hike while we were there along the Great Coast Walk and enjoyed the stunning coastline and the woods. There is a historic lighthouse very close by too that you can visit. Highly recommended.

大家在预定之前可以先发信息给我,我的威信是: wangchaoalan 可以给予一定优惠哦。如果有任何攻略上的问题也可以咨询呢。 Great value, clean accommodation in Apollo Bay. The studio units come complete with free unlimited WiFi, comfy Queen size bed, En-suite bathroom, basic kitchenette dining table chairs, 32 inch TV with FREE Movie rental. Max 2 guests.
We are a motel with a difference. We are the smallest motel on the Great Ocean Road as well as being a completely privately owned and operated motel, so we are able to offer a more personalized than the average motel. We have a small, friendly team who are always happy to help. The motel room is well equipped, with a small basic kitchenette, which includes a kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery and a small fridge. (Please note we do not have cooking facilities inside the room). Your unit will contain a Queen Size bed, an en-suite bathroom, dining table and chairs, 32 inch HD TV. The benefit of such accommodation is that we have an extremely high level of cleanliness, which is sometimes lacking in other Air B'n'B properties. We are also able to offer exceptional value for money in terms of the accommodation being provided. We have mini-bar items available for purchase. As an in-house guest, you may also use the our's facilities, which include an outdoor BBQ, swimming pool (unheated) and outdoor hot spa (available from 2PM and close when dark). *This unit can sleep a maximum of 2 guests.

  • Nice little cabin in the middle of the national forest. Scenic view with horses and wildlife. The flocks of birds definitely liked to voice their opinions morning to evening lol.

  • The location is really great, right in front of the station where the skybus arrives from the airport. The apartment is close to everything: supermarket, shops, restaurants and the free tram to get around the city.

  • Fantastic place! The cabins are spacious and with all the comforts, apart from internet (which might be a good thing!). From the window you can see horses and other animals. There are beautiful walks to do through Otway national park to the beach and lighthouse. I will definitely go there again!
