  • My family of 3, stayed at Carmela cottage in Achill from March 16-19, 2020 The cottage lovely, clean and comfortable with all the amenities of home. We were greated with a lovely basket with all the necessary essentials. Carmel was very marm, friendly and accommodating. With our plans changing daily due to the Covid_19 Coronavirus restrictions , she was very understanding. Her dog Bella was a delight we all enjoyed playing with her. We would recommend her cottage and would definitely come and stay again.

  • This AirBnb was perfect for us! We loved staying in this little house for our holidays. Carmel was really nice to us and gave us some nice tips for our trips. The dog, Bella, welcomed us every morning with a ball to play with her. We fully recommend this AirBnb and we would love to stay there again!

  • Beautiful stay, Carmel was very friendly and helpful. She even brought us in some extra bits as we stayed during a storm. This is a beautiful place to get away for a few days.

  • Carmels cottage is a great stop on Achill Island. Right across from the Atlantic and within a short drive of many great walks and sights. The place was clean, had lots of amenities, and the wood stove at the end of the day was a nice touch. Make sure to throw the ball for Bella! She is a super friendly pup!

  • Richie’s home was not only beautiful and spacious with loads of activities to keep 3 active kiddies busy, but it’s location was ideal to escape from it all. There are many outdoor adventures to be had in the surrounding areas. The house was clean, warm with lovely comfy beds. Richie was always prompt and helpful with his communication. We would highly recommend and most definitely come back.

  • We had a super nice stay, even though we had to reduce our stay by one week due to the COVID-19 outbreak, otherwise we would not have been able to get home. Richie immediately refunded the week, which was completely uncomplicated and very obliging. we will definitely come back again. the view is just fantastic and the house offers outstanding peace and quiet to slow down. @Lorraine (she is the housekeeper and lives about 1 mile away): Thank you very much again! It was a pleasure! Take care! ☘️🇮🇪🥃

    Michael2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We bought this as a christmas present for our mum - a family holiday away altogether - 6 adults, 3 dogs and a baby! We had the best time! We hsd to change our dates after we booked - there wasnt an issue! From this family to ours was amazing from the moment of booking until the day we left the property. The house comes with everything you could ever need...and then some! The house is comfortable and spacious, it has incredible views and Lorraine really makes it feel like a home from home! She came and met us on arrival and was on hand at all times answering texts straightaway, she could not have been more friendly, welcoming or helpful! This house is a definite break away! It is in a remote winding beautiful corner of the country, perfect for a city escape! - this does however mean its 20 mins from the nearest shop (theres a small emergency shop about 5 mins away but we found that we needed to go to the one a bit further away). Cant recommend the propety or hosting family enough! Thank you for a perfect family getaway!

    Myles2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, with spectacular ocean views. The communication is excellent, and the hosts are very helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay that really exceeded our expectations.

    Anthony2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • equipped and had everything we needed. Lovely big fire in the kitchen/diner was appreciated during a stormy few days (storm Denis made its mark!) - each bedroom was lovely and spacious and we all slept like logs. Smart TV, WiFi worked liked a charm so catching up on Netflix binging was a breeze. The pool table upstairs was a great addition and the library of books meant everybody had something from the trip. Thanks a million for the hospitality and I hope to be back at a later stage to see what summer looks like in Doohoma.

    Trevor2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I don’t think pictures could ever do this home or Doohoma justice. If you’re looking for a cosy and relaxed hide away this is the spot. The house itself has everything you could need, plus a pool table! And most importantly we could have our dogs with us. It’s comfortable and spacious and felt like a home away from home. Lorraine was there to meet us with a warm welcome and a “call me if you need anything” which we didn’t because she’d already messaged us everything we could possibly need to know a week earlier. The location itself is beautiful the house is basically on the beach, looking out the front windows you can see across to Achill Island to the left and Black Sod to the right (I think) Long walks with the dogs durning the day curled up by the stove listening to the waves in the evenings. Couldn’t recommend this place or the hosts highly enough.

    Jade2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • A little slice of heaven. The house is beautiful and in the most stunning location. A short walk to a beautiful beach and to delicious pints at the sea rod inn. Lorraine was our contact and made check in super easy and was always very prompt to reply. Dohooma is a hidden gem. The views from the house are unreal and there's lots to do in the area.We got the warmest welcome from the locals. Already planning our next trip!

Dugort is an original 'Clachan' village nestled at the foot of Slievemore mountain and overlooking the Silver Strand. The buildings have a social relationship to each other rather than an architectural one, and Dugort is a higgeldy-piggedly village of whitewashed cottages with old world charm. It's been a haven for artists and writers for centuries, with Nobel Laureate Heinrich Boll and painters Paul and Grace Henry only a few of its famous former residents.
  • Located on the western edge of Europe so you can expect big skies, four seasons in a day. The house is a bit dated and may be damp in winter, but Christina will have the heating running and the house stocked with essentials you might forget (milk, tootbrushes, chocolate, oil and vinegar). Very friendly host.

  • Better than expectations, spotless clean, cosy home from home. Excellent host, with local tips and great spot to stay - everything on Achill within about half hour. Will definitely be back!

    Ruth2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Christina's place. Christina had a warm welcome for us and had lots of suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We didn't need for anything - she had thought of everything from complimentary toiletries to a full stash of turf if you wanted to light the stove for a cosy evening in. Location is great, a stones throw from the beach and right beside The Cottage restaurant for tasty daytime food. We will be back and would highly recommend.

    Breda2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Christina is a lovely host and so welcoming. Great advice on the local must sees and recommendations on eating out. Great location to. Would definitely stay again!

    Anne Marie2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend this property enough. We were a family of three (Mum and two young adults) and we found the house a perfect venue for our week long holiday. AirBnB may use the term 'Superhost' liberally, but in Christine's case it is the absolute truth; she was fantastic, with tips and advice that were really helpful. Even though the weather was on the wet side we had a wonderful holiday. With the house being a 2 min walk from the beach, we could just pop over and spend an hour whenever suited us (and the weather!). In our opinion Dugort is the best spot on the island.

    Rosina2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Christinas cottage offered everything we needed, it was the perfect base for us to explore beautiful Achill, it was also perfect spot for us to spend afternoons on the beach just next to the cottage. Christina was the perfect host, very welcoming and knowledgeable on the local spots to eat and visit, she also had left many essentials (and non essentials, chocolates etc!) And even dropped in some kids bedtime stories for our 2 small ladies! Hope to be back to this beautiful spot!

    Louise2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Christina’s. The place has everything that we needed and more (especially the Chocolates 😊). The place was just steps away from the beach and also a local pub/hotel. Christina was easy to contact and great at giving advice of place to go and eat. Overall we loved our time here.

My home is situated in Faulmore overlooking Duvillaun Island, Inishkea Islands and Blackrock lighthouse. Blacksod Lighthouse is about five minutes away. Glosh beach is at the end of the road, ideal for a stroll. Colaiste Uisce in ten minutes away. Please note pricing includes continental breakfast on a self service basis. Kingsize Room has a separate single day day bed. Fridge/freezer in guest kitchen available for should guests want to cook their own meals. Lastly,Make yourself at home!!
*This is the ideal place for a quiet getaway, rest and relaxation. *There are numerous walking trails in Erris one of which is Cross Beach Loop Walk which is on the peninsula. *There are other walking routes around Blacksod / Faulmore of which there are spectacular views. * I am also within a a ten minute drive from Uisce Irish College which is handy for parents of students who wish to visit. *There are boat trips to Achill (weather prevailing) which leave from Blacksod pier. My accommodation comprises of 3 rooms, 1 Kingsize with ensuite and 2 double rooms with ensuite. Conservatory has TV for guest use, where you can sit and take in the fantastic views.
Erris is officially the best place in Ireland to 'go wild'! Situated along the Wild Atlantic Way and I am based in Faulmore which which is near the tip of the Mullet Peninsula. Blacksod Lighthouse is nearby, which is of unusual design for a lighthouse, being a square block of a building with only a small conical lantern section on top of it which is painted white. Ionad Deirbhile Visitor Centre, Eachleim, is a few minutes away which holds a wealth of information and has a coffee shop. I am beside St. Deirbhile's Pre-Norman Church which if you go through the window three times you will never drown. A short distance away is St Deirbhile's well, which is a holy well. This well is said to cure eye problems. A pilgimage is held there every 15th August. There are two pubs in the area. Teach John Joes in Aughleam and Unas in Blacksod. Both pubs are a great spot for meeting the locals and local musicians play on a regular basis. Belmullet town is a 20 minute drive away. Carne Golf Course is a 10 minute drive. Uisce and Aughleam Irish colleges are a short distance away.

    Ian2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • A spectacular view from a very homely and welcoming host.Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

    Velda2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation of Maureen is indeed very remote but thanks to their description, it is easy to find! You can spend great time in peace and in a beautiful beach environment. But you should have a certain self-catering with you, since there are no supermarkets or restaurants nearby. But in itself a great place to stay if you want to experience Ireland in isolation.

    Steffen2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely fantastic home to stay in, from location to homemade scones and views that are outstanding, along with a beautiful beach within a stones throw. Highly recommend this host and their beautiful home.

Newly Renovated 2 bedroomed seaside cottage. Just 2-3 mins drive from Belmullet town along Shore Road and outdoor pool on your doorstep. Suitable for couples, groups of friends, families.
A spacious Kitchen with all mod cons, dining area overlooking the bay. An open plan living & dining room with full views of the coast. Large back garden and walled in front garden. Parking space for 2/3 cars.
The property is situated along Shore Road which is a short walk into Belmullet town. There's a footpath all the way in so it's safe for kids and walkers alike. There's an outdoor pool just across the road for those who wish to brave the cold Atlantic for a dip! The Erris area was voted "Best place to go Wild" by the Irish Times. https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/travel/ireland/go-wild/and-the-winner-of-the-best-place-to-go-wild-in-ireland-is-1.1823351 “A glorious, wild, uniformly unspoilt and stunning little-known area” was the verdict of Irish Times feature writer Rosita Boland after her research trip to Erris last month. Her words echo those of naturalist Robert Lloyd Praeger who, in the 1930s, wrote that Erris is a place where “you are thrown at the same time back on yourself and forward against the mystery and majesty of nature”. If you're looking for unspoilt wilderness, breathtaking walks and scenery then Belmullet is for you however Central Parcs it is not - so if you're looking for theme parks and water slides I'm afraid Belmullet isn't the place for you.
  • Aoife’s cottage was sparkling clean, modern and full of the little things that make it homely. In addition arriving to a lit stove and welcome basket was really special after a long car journey. As much as we loved sightseeing we enjoyed returning to the cottage each evening even more . Thank you Aoife.

    Fiona2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This house is really beautiful cosy, clean and so comfortable in a lovely location with a fab view and walking distance to town .. there was a lovely surprise of a basket of goodies and raging fire when we arrived on a very cold wet and miserable evening ..I totally recommend this house for a delightful break .. thanks for everything Aoife

    Marie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had the loveliest stay here, Aoife is a fabulous host and has thought of everything, I think you could turn up with no luggage or bags and she would have everything you'd need to settle you in! I couldn't believe the welcome basket we arrived too and the house was so warm and inviting because she had lit the stove, she has answered every question I had without fail and has been a lovely host, being a professional cleaner I think I'm more critical of the cleanliness of places we stay, but Aoife's is immaculate, not a single thing out of place! With homely touches and home comforts she has put so much effort and love into the place. The location is amazing, I will be back in the summer to go in the tidal pool and enjoy more walks on the beach, If you are visiting Belmullet make sure you visit Downpatrick Head, we had the most amazing weather for it and it was breathtaking! Happy travels :)

    Marika2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Aoife's place was fantastic. It was so clean and perfect for our stay. We found the house easily as it was named clearly on the outside wall. The view out to the sea is wonderful, I just wish we had more time there to enjoy it. Aoife has thought of everything, there is a washing machine, iron, coffee machine, etc. The beds are so comfortable we all slept very well. The walk into town is about 10 mins but its straight along the sea so very picturesque. I can't fault it and would definitely choose to stay here again when I visit Belmullet. Thanks

    Amanda2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Superb all round. Excellent modern house with all the facilities. Would strongly recommend.

    Brendan2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Aoife's place is spotless, in close proximity to town and offers breathtaking views of the sea. From start to finish she was a fantastic host: leaving thoughtful touches as soon as we arrived. We will be back again soon!

    Andrew2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect luxury coastal getaway. Enjoyed a few winter days with local walks, exploring the town and then relaxing by the fire in the evening after homecooked meal. Aoife has designed a beautiful high quality space with stunning sea views to be enjoyed from multiple comfy viewing points. Thanks Aoife and Hazel - look forward to future trips :)

The famed Western Greenway cycle and walking route extends from the island 45 miles on an old narrow-gauge railway track along the coastline to Westport town. The Greenway is presently being extended across and around the island.
  • Our stay at Jane’s on gorgeous Achill Island was fabulous in every way!! Made-to-order breakfasts in her cosy kitchen were scrumptious. Jane is warm and welcoming and she sure knows Ireland, especially Achill Island. We can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!!

  • Staying with Jane was fantastic. I had 4 of 5 stays in Ireland via AirBnB and Achill had been the best. The house was easy to find - which was good as I was coming over directly from Dublin on my 1st day in Ireland. Jane had a lot of tips and stories to tell. As she loves Achill and I love my home region we had quite a lot to talk about :-) Additionally she made breakfast, lots of it. I definitely recommend staying with her.

The facilities are well kitted out with everything you will need. We can't wait to stay here again, thank you Michael! Karen, David and Harriett

  • Just returned from a 3 night stay at Michaels place. Great location overlooking Keel Lake & close to the amazing Keel Beach. Property was very clean, spacious & plenty of towels left out for us. Heat was on when we arrived which was welcome in this cold Oct mth. We were very fortunate with great weather and stunning beaches - area was fairly quiet at this time of year. No Wi-Fi here, but was nice break to get away from it all - this place was lovely and peaceful & quiet and would highly recommend. Amethyst Bar nice for food. Will be back

  • Michael's house is clean, spacious, generous (includes all bills!), well located in Achill (albeit 1 mile from local shops on a fast main road - so a car is essential). But the star here is in fact our host. He is at the very least a 'Super Host'; in truth of fact it was his character & integrity that made our holiday most memorable. Thank you Michael.

Perched on the cliffs edge this 2 bed cottage looks out over Dugort beach. The interior of the cottage has been recently upgraded with new furnishings and paint job. The cottage will comfortably sleep 4-6 people. The heating for the cottage is by means of a rustic solid fuel stove which gives a real country cottage feel. The kitchen looks out onto the crashing waves which are almost within touching distance.
The cottage is a cosy old style cottage within a stones throw of a golden blue flag beach. Plenty of bedding, towels ect are provided as is turf to keep the stove fire going. The real gem of this property is the views over Dugort bay and the cliff edge location. A perfect sanctuary to unwind in one of Achill's finest villages.
Dugort Village is one of the most picturesque villages on the Island of Achill. The house looks out over the Silver Strand Blue Flag Beach and sits in the shadows of slivemore mountain. The cottage coffee shop is located 15 steps from the front door serving up the finest of fresh food and deserts. Other eateries near by are Mastersons bar and restaurant and in the other direction is Achill's finest pizza place, pure magic. Daily excursions to blacksod bay leave from the nearby pier. Kayaking, Paddle Boarding and Surfing occur daily on the beach. Check this video out - most of it is filmed under the cottage. (URL HIDDEN)

  • Linda is a super, super Host. From the moment we booked everything was perfect. Communication was excellent before and during our stay. The large bedroom and entire space was immaculate and we were provided with a lovely choice of breakfast cereals, juice, yogurts, fresh fruit , bread, tea and coffee to set us up for the day. Linda's knowledge of Achill is exceptional and she's very happy to share this knowledge with her guests. We recommend Linda's place 100% and we will return.

  • We had a very large family room with a view of the sea, comfortable beds, private bathroom, all brand new and very well equipped and furnished. Linda is a great hostess and gave us good tips. In the evening we walked 300 meters to the nearest pub, where we ate well and sat comfortably by the fireplace. We highly recommend the accommodation and would come back anytime!

  • Linda is a warm, welcoming and communicative host! She greeted us upon our arrival and gave a wonderful overview of Achill and where to go. The room was immaculately clean and the bed was dreamy to sleep in. We were excited that we could walk in 3 minutes to a lovely local pub/restaurant with the BEST fish and chips! We would definitely stay here again!

A really comfortable, vintage RV (winnebago), parked beside our home and farm. Comprising of two single beds, a closet, a bathroom, a kitchen with a fridge, mircowave oven, gas cooker, kettle and toaster and a dining area. We provide breakfast cereals, juice, milk, bread, tea and coffee with fresh farm produce from our garden, when in season. Just 5 minutes off the Wild Atlantic Way in a tranquil farm setting with beautiful views of Achill Island, the Mullet pennisula and the Atlantic ocean.
The spacious RV is beside our home with spectacular views of Achil Island and the surrounding country side, where you are sure to see sheep grazing happily. Our farmhouse is set in the countryside. You will enjoy the quiet and peaceful setting with perhaps the sounds of the birds and animals grazing being your only interruption. We are 5km from Ballycroy National Park Visitor's Centre and just off Wild Atlantic Way with a short walk to the sea. We have a beautiful, secluded beach nearby with sand dunes. Ballycroy National Park Visitor's Centre celebrates and exhibits our unique landscape and wildlife alongside our traditions and customs, with regular workshops and guided walks and talks throughout the summer season. Admission and parking are free as well as a shuttle bus which operates between the centre and the park. At night, the vast and sparsely populated countryside gives way to the magical wonders of the dark sky. Ballycroy and surrounds have been internationally acclaimed as one of the premier destinations to view the night sky. Over 4,500 twinkling stars along with planets, The Milky Way and even meteor showers are all visible with the naked eye on a clear night in Ballycroy.
From our farmhouse, you are centrally located to explore and experience all the best this region has to offer. Ballycroy is a hidden gem yet to be explored by tourists. It is a small, quiet, rural village home to the acclaimed Ballycroy National Park Visitor's Centre and Ginger & Wild Cafe. We have a country style pub which provides lunchtime meals, Cafferkey's and B&B accomodation, free community playground along with a shop with petrol pumps, post office, garda station, school, Roman Catholic Church and Community Centre. We have a very active community and we all do our part to preserve our inherited landscape, culture and traditions. If you are feeling energenic, we can arrange bicycle hire with shuttle bus on the Great Western Greenway or sailing with Bellacragher Bay Boat Club. We have excellent walking, cycling, fishing, rowing and sailing opportunities in the vicinity. While nestled in a horseshoe of the mountains of the Wild Nephin Park, Ballycroy opens to the Atlantic Ocean. On our west is the majestic Achill Island and to our north are Doohoma head and the Belmullet Islands. A 15 minute scenic drive will bring you to Mulranny where you will find a blue flag beach with breathtaking views of Clew Bay and a beautiful hotel with pubs and restuarants galore. We are 25 minute drive from Achill Island, renowed for its picturesque beauty and home to Keem Bay, selected as the third most beautiful beach in the world by Condé Nast Traveller. The friendly town of Belmullet, the heart of Erris, is a 30 minute drive and head along the Mullet Pennisula to see the unspoiled, majestic beauty of the true Wild Atlantic Way.
  • My partner and I made a last minute decision to stay in Mary’s caravan. We arrived late; maybe 9.30pm. Mary greeted us and brought us inside for tea and toast while her husband and kids prepared the RV. The RV itself was immaculate, with the photos shown being an accurate description of what to expect inside! We’d stayed on a windy night so the caravan shook a little while we slept but nothing crazy! There was no WiFi but our signal was good and we didn’t need the use of our phones as it was just a place to stay the night! A very accommodating host and a novelty stay; would definitely stay again. Also, the caravan was on the set of Father Ted which we both found to be a story in itself!

My place is located close the exciting town of Belmullet, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean offering culture and theatre at the local Civic Centre with local traditional Irish music and historical sites nearby. There are many lively pubs and places to eat, extensive range of ocean based activities and established walks and cycle routes. We are within a few miles from the acclaimed golf course at Carne, you can do as little or as much as want!
Offering a warm welcome, in a comfortable and elegant setting. We are ideal for couples, solo adventurers or business travellers.
The house looks out on the beautiful Atlantic and is situated in a lovely stretch of homes along the sea road which leads into Belmullet town (only a mile from town).
