  • Shayne's place is really lovely and comes with all you would need for a break away from it all. Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the countryside was fantastic, and we loved sitting on the squashy sofas and watching the latest films on netflix. The apartment is a nice walk into the local town where we found a nice place to eat lunch. We loved our stay and will definitely consider it for future trips!

  • Lovely views from the apartment of the hills in sunshine, and next morning covered in snow. Very good furnishings made our visit comfortable and cosy. Really good large sized hot tub which we enjoyed very much - the rain held off for once this month, and we took advantage of it! Thanks.

    Torsten2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was a great host - thoughtful and considerate and gave us everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The house was perfect for me and my 3 kids. They loved the "little house" on the top floor with 2 doubles and a single yet plenty of space. The house was cosy and warm our entire stay and there was plenty of sofa space for the 4 of us to snuggle up and watch tv in front of the fire. Really good location too with all the amenities of Barnoldswick right on your doorstep. We walked to the leisure center (15mins) and went for a swim. Great pool! Thank you again Sharon!

Bamboo is a light and airy 4 berth, 44 foot narrowboat moored in a tranquil setting on the Leeds/Liverpool canal - ideal for visits to the nearby Yorkshire Dales or Forest of Bowland. Modern yet cosy, Bamboo is a home from home that offers the perfect getaway for romantics, those seeking something a little different and small families who like trees, ducks and water!
Come on board and let's take a look round. Our tour starts with Bamboo's lovely stern deck with bistro chairs and table - just right for a relaxing meal on a summer's evening. Step through the hatch/doorway, down three steps and you're into the double bedroom with storage drawers below and clothes hanging space and cupboards above. Going forward, past the bathroom with shower, flush toilet, washbasin and cupboard space, we come to the well-equipped galley (kitchen) with gas cooker and fridge (with small freezer compartment). Beyond lies the open plan dining area and lounge with wood burning stove, LCD TV/DVD player, Huawei 4G mobile router, mobile Bluetooth speaker and portable FM radio. The cosy L-shaped sofa converts into a comfortable double bed. Finally, french doors lead out onto the bow deck seating area - perfect for a leisurely cup of coffee or glass of wine. Bamboo has hot/cold running water and, should it get a little chilly, the central heating system will keep you warm. Bamboo benefits from a 240 volt hook up so you can use laptops or charge your tablet. There is a designated parking space approximately 5 minutes walk from Bamboo along an unmetalled road. Guests are welcome to bring their cars alongside Bamboo to load or unload but are politely asked to return them to the parking area as soon as possible.
Bamboo is moored on the Leeds/Liverpool canal in a quiet, relaxed marina on the outskirts of the friendly market town of Barnoldswick. The boat looks out on rolling hills and woodland. Ducks and swans are regular visitors and deer can often be seen in the fields opposite. Bird watchers will find a variety of songbirds to interest them and the canal boasts plenty of bream and perch for those keen on fishing. The nearest pub, the Anchor Inn, is a 15 minute walk down the towpath. Barnoldswick itself is situated in the Pennine hills on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border and is perfectly placed for visits to the nearby Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It also has wonderful walking county of its own - the view from the heather moorland of Weets Hill is one of the best in the country. The Pennine cycle way passes through the town and the Pennine bridleway is a five minute walk down the towpath. Skipton, with its famous castle, bars and bustling street market is less than ten miles away and, for those who appreciate good food, Lancashire's top gastropubs are nearby.
  • The discription of this place is as it reads . peaceful spotless and to a high standard . We will definitely return.

    colm2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic few days in Bamboo! Certainly a novel experience. Would recommend if you're after something a little bit different. You can tell Nick and Catherine take pride in making your stay a pleasant one and even left fresh scones for our arrival. If you are looking for a walk it's not to far to drive to Malham for a walk around Goredale Scar and Malham Cove.

    Daniel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing stay in Bamboo, they left us some home made Scones which were amazing! Very cosy little Narrowboat with everything you need, comfortable bed and an amazing touch of a wood burner which made it that bit better! Would recommend to anyone for a cosy weekend away!

    Rachel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little boat. Very cosy! Stunning setting with swans and ducks visiting. There are lovely walks you can do down the tow path. We woke up one morning to frost and the canal was frozen over! It was really very beautiful.

    Sophie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A great getaway for a couple of nights. We were greeted by a bottle of Prosecco which was very welcome. Despite staying in the last days of December we were warm and very comfortable aboard. There are lots of local shops which we used to self cater and the kitchen and utensils were more than up to the job. I will hopefully revisit in the summer. Ideal for cycling around the hills of Lancashire

    Luke2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a one of a kind holiday.. I have never stayed in a boat house before and it was perfect.. it had all the comforts of a normal house yet had the slight up and down movement of the water.. the swans and ducks came every morning to say good morning.. the town Barnoldswick is close by for anything you want to buy.. Catherine was a perfect host always ready to answer any query we had.. They had also left plenty of suggestions for nearby sight seeing.. All in all it was one perfect holiday! I would definitely recommend it for a romantic stay out of the usual!

    Jeana2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • It poured rain for the whole time we were there but it was not an issue as Bamboo is really comfortable and cosy. Everything was explained really clearly which made our stay easier since we hadn't stayed on a narrowboat before. Catherine and Nicholas even left mince pies for us :)

    Sofia2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much to Nick & Catherine for a delightful stay on Bamboo. We have never stayed on a houseboat before, but really enjoyed the experience. Communication and check-in was perfect, Bamboo was spotlessly clean and there were few thoughtful touches that really made the difference. We went to the local anchor inn just up the canal for food and it was delicious. Cheers!

We are offering our family holiday home we've used for a number of years on Todber Valley Holiday Park. Todber Valley is a quiet holiday park with a good bar/restaurant, play areas for the children, a small store offering all the essentials and a launderette all within 100 meters of the holiday home. There are on site areas for dog walking, with immediate access to beautiful countryside located literally on the borders between Lancashire, The Yorkshire Dales and The Forest of Bowland (an AONB).
The Holiday home is a 35 x 12 foot Caravan with an open living-dining kitchen area with comfy seating a dining table. The double bedroom has ample wardrobes and a door into the main bathroom. Main bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. There is also a toilet room adjacent to the twin bedroom.
The park feels very much like a quiet neighbourhood. It feels more like a gated community than a holiday park. Most people on the park are residential therefore the upkeep and the tidiness of the park is exceptional compared to some that can feel a bit rough.
  • A lovely little Caravan, clean and comfortable, especially the bed after a long days walking. Great communication from the initial enqiry and throughout booking procedure. Ryan met me with warm welcome and offered great local advise. Had a lovely break away with the dogs and will definately be back again, thanks to you both for your hospitality 😃

Clean, well-appointed and very cosy, we had a lovely few days and enjoyed exploring the local area. We would love to come back in the summer months. The adventure playground was a big hit with our kids too! Thank you for having us.

  • Ideal caravan, amazing value for money. Has a homely feel about it. ryan(the host) was great, met us at the caravan perfectly on time and was welcoming. Would recommend.

    Dwaine2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Ryan's property. So much so that we booked an extra night. The caravan is clean, with good sized living area, bathroom and bedrooms. The hosts were really friendly and responded quickly. The site is nice and quiet and the plot is at the far end of a row of caravans with a small private garden which was great for the dog. The steamer pub is a short walk away and there's a good park area for kids. There are plenty of plates, mugs and cutlery, however not a lot of glasses but bath towels are provided and the beds are very comfortable. We hope to stay again in the future.

A 'magical' little place that hugs you as soon as you walk through the door. Traffic-free location with parking for 2/3 cars, priceless! Great base for walking, cycling & perfect jumping-off spot for Yorkshire Dales, Pendle Hill, Ribble Valley & Bowland and Bronte Country. Earby is right on Yorks/Lancs border (disputed!) the Pennine Way is 1 mile, Pendle Way 200 metres. 2015 TOB 'King of The Mountain' stage is 2 mins ride. Co-op, village shops, cafes, chippy, takeaways, pubs & curry house.
Spoiler - it's not a cottage! It may be cute, "cottagey" even ... but it's still just a terrace. Just so you know. And it's not a show-house, I've gone for more of a 'lived-in' look, one which has taken 12 years of minimal effort since I gutted the place. As for it's curious name there's a clue in the pictures and a few more in my profile...
All the shops are within 5 mins walk. The Co-op is open til 10pm and there are proper village shops like butchers, greengrocers, bakery, couple of caffs, a launderette, pensions adviser and an emporium of bridal apparel (bit expensive but, you know, each to her own). 4 pubs, of which the Red Lion's deffo your best bet for real ale.
  • Such a special place. Warm, cosy, so creatively decorated, welcoming, sparkling clean. Log burner laid ready to light. Candles, lamps, and even fresh coffee and plunger. Beautiful view from bedroom window. Would recommend 100%!

  • We absolutely loved our stay. Ian is an excellent host and his home is lovely. The place was super clean and tidy, but also had a really cosy, warm, homely feel to it. The area is lovely and we went on a lovely walk to find a "Roman Fort". We would definitely stay in Ian's place again.

    Carly2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem, as is its host, Ian. Cosy, stylish, comfortable, a bit quirky; and literally everything thought of.. the stove was lit and on a wintry night it was a sanctuary.. Ian’s got a great sense of humour and comms were great.. Highly recommended

    Ralph2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect from the minute you walk through the door - special little touches throughout the house were delightful - impeccably clean, Ian even had the fire ready just to put a match to for us - my family loved our stay here - we felt welcome and cosy on a blustery winters day the minute we walked in. Host Ian was great - helped with all local area info required and kept in touch at all times - we didn’t want to leave and will be back to stay again as soon as we can - massive thank you Ian x

Medium sized double room with wardrobe, drawers and beside cabinet. Located close to countryside, shops and bus routes. Dogs are welcome.
Barnoldswick is located between the Ribble Valley, the district of Pendle and the Yorkshire Dales. Its a smallish town with enough shops and not overly busy. There are great walks locally as well as easy access by car to the surrounding areas. This house is part of 19th century terraces for mill workers. Built very solidly, no noise problem through the walls. Generally a family, working- and middle-class area.
  • I booked Chris’s place last minute, had no problem getting the key for access! I met Chris and his little girl really friendly host and such a polite little girl 💓 the room is a lovely basic nice size, and I slept like a baby.. He offers everything needed for a home away from home experience. He was even thoughtful enough to check on me after I checked out. His home is clean; the room is large and, the bed is super comfy. I slept better at Chris’s than I do at home. Looking forward to my next stay.

    Beth2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great host and a great price

    Clive2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, made me very welcome. The room was spacious and clean with two heating options. There is a large bathroom down the Hallway which although shared was freely accessible. I didn't do any cooking but the kitchen was available and seemed to have most things needed, I even had my own fridge space. I would stay again for sure as the price was at least half that of other rentals or guest houses/pubs in the area.

    Heather2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Chris will give you freedom within his home, always polite and nothing is a problem. It’s not 5* but it’s his home and you are not paying even 2* prices, it’s a great compromise. He’s made sure the room is warm all the time and it has all the basics including a big comfortable bed. You have complete privacy and you have a lock on the door if you need it. You are very central to Barnoldswick (a quiet town that can be lively if timed right) with all amenities open until about 21/22:00 and pubs/take aways open till late. Would stay again for general ease and value for money, thanks Chris

    Steven2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night at Chris’s place. Highly recommend it to everyone.

    Bence2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Barnoldswick isn't a conventional holiday destination but, if you need to visit and want a cheap place to stay, then Chris' room could be suitable. All as advertised - a room in a house - with Chris being welcoming and flexible.

We have a lovely home in a semi-rural position close to both the Trough of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales and the lovely Lancashire countryside. Our home would be perfect for a professional lady or gent requiring accomodation whilst spending time on business in the area or simply for someone looking to explore. The bedroom consists of a small double bed,t.v., ensuite shower room, wi-fi etc. Office space is available in the home if required and we are happy to share our kitchen/diner for breakfast.
Martin, my husband and myself are looking forward to welcoming guests to our home as now the children are grown and not around as much we have space to fill. We have decorated and furnished to a high standard and are sure you will have a comfortable stay.
Several good pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes of the property. Although we are surrounded by lovely countryside we have a good number of large employers in the area namely Rolls Royce, Weston’s, Country Holidays and Silentnight to name but a few.
  • This was one of the nicest places I've stayed in. It was immaculate and the room had everything one could need. Ruth and Martin kindly waited for my late arrival and they were up to wave me goodbye in the early morning. Overall a lovely experience, thank you!

  • Very welcoming! I would be more than happy to stay at Ruth's home again. Unfortunately mine was a very short stay and I didn't get chance to make the most of the amenities

  • I really landed on my feet this time. Their pricing is modest. Warm welcome, made to feel at home instantly. Immaculate luxury bedroom with soft clean bedding and a hugging mattress, on-suite, beautiful house, kitchen and garden. The cutest dog in the world, 'Coops', to hang out with. Excellent open- hearted hosts, reassuring to know there are people out there so kind and trusting.

  • Lynne's caravan is beautiful with amazing views. She has thought of everything from coffee, tea, juice and snacks to all other home comforts such as throws, heaters, toiletries. The view is fantastic and even though the weather wasn't good enough for us to be able to sit outside, it's a great enclosed space that will be a perfect place to relax in the warmer weather and summer evenings. Lynne responded really quickly to my messages and it was good to know she was on hand as they live a couple of doors away. We can't wait to book again.

  • I stayed at Lynne’s with my partner and our 1 year old daughter while visiting family in Read over Christmas. We had a lovely stay at Lynne’s place. Lynne and her husband were amazing hosts, and were very flexible regarding our check-in. Lynne replies to messages almost immediately, and couldn’t have done more to make sure we had a good stay. The caravan was beautifully decorated and spotless. It was much warmer and cosier than we expected, and we only regretted not being able to spend more time there. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to others.

Welcome to Pickles Cottage, a traditional stone-built millworker's end-terrace cottage in the delightful town of Barnoldswick, Lancashire, formerly in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Close to the the market town of Skipton, the Yorkshire Dales, Brontë Country, and with the Lake District within easy reach, Pickles Cottage offers everything you'll need to enjoy your holiday in comfort. The town centre is less than ten minutes' walk, and hosts some lovely cafés, pubs and independent shops.
We've set up Pickles Cottage to be a convenient and functional home from home. There's a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and the all the usual items. The lounge diner has a comfortable sofa and armchair, TV with all Freeview and many other channels (streamed via Amazon Fire TV Stick), USB charging sockets, a dining table and chairs, and a wood-burning stove. High-speed fibre optic broadband wifi covers the whole house. The main bedroom is equipped with a UK king bed (US/Aus queensize) and there's a single in the second bedroom. The bathroom features a shower, WC and washbasin. The house is warmed by gas-fired central heating, which also supplies hot water on demand. Towels and bedding are provided, so there's no need for you to bring your own.
Pickles Cottage is in a quiet residential area on the edge of Barnoldswick (known locally as Barlick). About three minutes' walk away, you'll find a small parade of shops with a convenience store, Italian restaurant, fish and chip shop, and a coin-op launderette. Monday night is Music Night at the Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre/McCullough's Bar near the town centre, where you can catch local acts for free. Other, ticketed, events are hosted there too. One of the town's more attractive features is the Leeds and Liverpool Canal which runs just to the east of Barnoldswick. There's easy access to the towpath for some lovely gentle walking. More strenuous walks abound further out of town, with Pendle Hill a favourite to the west, the moors surrounding town, the Yorkshire Dales and glorious Pennine countryside. To the west of town, you run into Colne, Nelson and on to Burnley. Numerous mill shops and other retail experiences dot the area, and you can pick up some great bargains. Although once dominated by the now-vanished textile industry, Barnoldswick is still an important manufacturing town. Famous Barnoldswick manufacturers include Rolls-Royce (aero engines), Esse stoves, Silentnight beds, Hope Technology, who make high-end bicycle components, and (wait for it) Carlson Filtration.
  • Great hope to stay again

The lovely thoughtful touch of mini Christmas tree, Christmas card, and little goody bag (which we throughly enjoyed!!) was a very kind gesture, the views even in winter where spectacular...and plenty of places to visit locally, if you are wanting to eat, the White bull in the village had fantastic food!! Holly Toft is a lovingly converted, stone cottage, perched on the edge of a drumlin hill, overlooking the beautiful rolling countryside of the Ribble Valley. With uninterrupted panoramic views of the Forest of Bowland, the majestic hills of Whernside, Pen-y-ghent and Ingleborough, it truly is a special place. Whilst mature lime trees stand guard in front of the property, Weets Hill looms spectacularly nearby. Relax in front of the woodburning stove whilst drinking in the views.

Pop into town and enjoy our gastro pub, The Fountain, Barlick Tap which is a friendly micro brewery and Chewies, a great gin bar. For a lively music scene and great food especially breakfast, you can’t beat the Music and Arts Centre where Pete Barton (the Animals 60’s group “The house of the rising sun” fame) has his mates round for cracking evenings jamming in the basement bar. The Greyhound also has good guest beers and lively bands at the weekends. Check them out online and schedule your itinerary ! Scare yourself half to death on a ghost tour of Clitheroe Castle with Simon Armitage, resplendent in a top hat, plumb the depths exploring an underground cave system at Ingleton or try an exhilarating Landrover experience nearby. Imagine walking in the footsteps of J..R. R. Tolkien, a five and a half mile trek through the Ribble Valley on the Lord of the Rings Trail. A little further afield is Pendle Hill, of Pendle Witch fame, which is great for an afternoon stroll. For the more energetic Malham Cove and the Three Peaks is an unmissable challenge, or bring your bike and follow the Tour de Yorkshire route! Hire bikes from wickedbikezltd @ hotmail dot com, have them delivered to Holly Toft, then peddle along the towpaths or tackle the Ribble Valley trails. • This was the second time we have been and the novelty did not wear off at all! It was just as special the second time round as the first! We absolutely love the log burner it’s so cosy and comforting of a night time and the hot tub is absolutely amazing. So relaxing after a long walk taking in all of the beautiful surroundings that barnoldswick has to offer! Kathryn is an amazing host and really goes above and beyond. The cottage has always been so clean and very nicely presented! On both visits we have had scones and a bottle of bubbly and they were a lovely touch. Thanks again Kathryn, can’t wait to return.

  • I wish I could give this 10 stars. Kathryn is a wonderful host, super quick to respond. She added such lovely personal touches to the property to make our stay even more special. It’s a gorgeous place - highly recommend this as a peaceful stay. The property was spotless and Kathryn went beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to hand. There are over 20 local circular walks and we loved exploring. We didn’t venture too much into town as we really wanted to see the countryside. We loved the hot tub and rang in our new year as we hoped. The fireplace is gorgeous and we relishes just relaxing with a proper roaring fire while watching movies on netflix. Thank you Kathryn for making our start to 2020 so memorable.

We are yet to install a shower block in the next couple of months but toilets and washing facilities are here. As it’s a glamping cabin we provide means to cook with, a log burning fire with stove top and mini oven and an outdoor bbq/firepit, we also have a kettle and toaster in the cabin along with utensils, cutlery, glassware and mugs. We recommend bringing your own wash towels and toiletries and, as there is no running water in the Hideaway we will supply you with bottled water for drinking for your stay and there is a washing up sink at the lodge. You have a key for the toilet/wash facilities which you can access any time during your stay. Bring your fishing tackle and have a go whilst you're here. There's a fishing peg included at the Hideaway (rules apply). Lothersdale/Raygill has no mobile phone signal but WiFi is now available at The Hideaway (fingers crossed). It is a truly unique accommodation that we are sure you will love.
Raygill is a very important area of geological interest. It is an old limestone quarry that has been tended to and cared for by its owners for the last 30 years and now it is an area of natural beauty and the wildlife is abundant. The Lakeside Cafe & Bar are in the Fishery Lodge just a short walk away from you if you want food and drink (open weekends only unless arrangements are made by yourselves and the owner) but if you fancy a stroll into the village 1 mile away you will find The Hare and Hounds pub. They serve good ales and food all day, every day.
  • We had a lovely stay here - clear details were sent on how to get there and we were met on arrival. The log burner kept the place warm (despite very low temperatures) and it was nice to be able to hear all the birds and wildlife. We will definitely be returning!

  • We celebrated our anniversary here and had a great time. The Cabin was just as advertised so no nasty surprises. Amanda asked what time we would be arriving so she could have the cabin nice and warm for us. On arrival we were hit by the beautiful smell of wood burning coming from the cosy warm cabin and the view over the lake was breathtaking. The hosts were really friendly and the locals in the on site bar all made us feel very welcome which added to our lovely experience. We had the best nights sleep in the comfy bed and look forward to returning in the Spring.

  • I went with my partner a week ago now for his birthday and we had a great time. Met lots of lovely people and we will definitely be returning. It’s great for a cosy weekend away with the log burner inside and good for dogs too as there’s lots to do around the area. Very local to us too.

    Ellie2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect escape! The Hideaway was exactly what we were looking for, we had the most wonderful sleep. The log burner was on when we arrived making it really cosy. We loved listening to the wildlife while the fire crackled. The prosecco & crisps were nice touches too. We found a book of walks which was really helpful. The local pub ‘Hare & Hounds’ is a short walk away and the food incredible. Would recommend to anyone.

    Rob2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at this cosy little cabin. Our hosts were super friendly and there to greet us on arrival and show us the place and how everything worked etc. The cabin was nice and warm when we entered, with some snacks and a bottle of prosecco left for us which was a really nice touch. There was also tea and coffee, milk and water. We enjoyed sitting by the lake in the evening by the fire, and the stove inside kept us toasty all night long too. Whilst there isn’t any signal at the cabin (which we don’t mind at all) there are usb plug sockets if you want to charge your phones to play music etc which was really useful. We had lunch plans the next day or we would have eaten at the cafe at Raygill, as the burger options sounded fab! We will definitely be back for a bit of a longer stay when the weather is a bit nicer so we can enjoy some of the walks etc. Would recommend staying here for sure :) Thanks for having us!

  • Thanks for having me! I felt so welcome in your home - it’s clean, homey and warm, and you both are simply brilliant hosts! Stephen was very kind and picked me and my bicycle up at the train station as I was arriving late in the evening, which made me feel safe. I really appreciate the conversations we had and the tips they gave me about the local area. I highly recommend this place!

    Amanda2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen and Sue are very friendly and helpful and you really feel at home with them. We enjoyed the kitchen table conversations. It is tidy and clean. Here B&B is just as B&B is meant to be! We highly recommend this accommodation.

    Marco2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen and Sue have a beautiful home which was spotlessly clean when we arrived. They left a basket of delectable goodies for us and plenty of stuff in the fridge which they invited us to use as we wished. All the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely with a very hot shower. Stephen and Sue helped us find somewhere for dinner and vacated the house so 5 of us could be comfortable during our stay. Can’t praise them enough as hosts and the house is a fantastic place to stay to explore a beautiful area from. Thank you.

    Caroline2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen's home is in a quiet street and was easy to find. As soon as I got through the door I was being made a cuppa and had a good long chat before being shown to my spacious and comfortable room. Stephen even kindly gave me a lift to the evening event I was attending and collected me afterwards - it wasn't far away, but obviously he knew where he was going far better than I did, so it was much appreciated! I slept comfortably; the room was just the right temperature and the bed was comfy. All in all, I'd happily stay with him again.

    Nathan2018-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best host I’ve ever met, would be hard to find better than him. Stephen helps me a lot and very understanding. Glad i made this booking since barrowford really nice also. Worth to try if u looking for village experience

  • We had a very relaxing stay at Stephen's place. It's a beautiful, immaculately clean house with lots of lovely touches. We booked at short notice and Stephen responded immediately - all communications were very prompt. Stephen and Sue were very thoughtful and welcoming, taking care of all the needs of our mixed-age family group. They had lots of suggestions of places to visit. We enjoyed the Pendle Heritage Centre just round the corner, which had lots of information and things to see. Would strongly recommend a stay at Stephen and Sue's place.

    Hilary2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen and Sue were wonderful hosts. My sister and I felt so welcome and really enjoyed our chats together. Their lovely house is very comfortable, absolutely spotless and ideally located in a beautiful part of Lancashire with great pubs and cafés just 5' down the road on foot. It was great to meet Stephen and Sue and we highly recommend their place.

Very warm and cosy, clean and the breakfast was great and very reasonably priced especially with the quality of the food on offer. Hot water with a teapot says a lot in my book... Lovely views and 5 minutes from centre. The Inn at Whitwell for a meal is well worth a visit! Will be back again. Thanks folks.

Our little cottage is nestled away and is quaint & stylishly decorated with a wood burner making it toasty and inviting after a long walk in the hidden beautiful romantic hamlet of Wycoller. With the Yorkshire Moors right on the doorstep, ancient bridges and a ruin, plus a tearooms just around the corner offering homemade food & scrumptious cakes. Central base for Skipton, The Coast, The Lakes, The Dales, Ribble Valley and much more. Stunning in all Seasons. Be warned .. you won't want to leave.
The log burner will greet you with that toasty welcome after a long walk out in the countryside on a brisk Autumn or Winters day. Or be it Spring or Summer, the outside of the cottage is a sun trap where you can sit and relax and have a lovely lunch enjoying the garden and the company of the birds. The cottage has a double bed in the bedroom with a shower en suite, and a comfy sofa bed in the sitting room, suitable for 1 adult/child. During these current trying times regarding the Covid-19 crisis I would like to reassure you that the cottage is disinfected thoroughly throughout the cottage including door handles. The linen and towels have been washed on the highest wash. The cottage is a great place for a staycation as a work from home alternative. Stay safe!
Wycoller is an idyllic, hidden gem.. romantic and steeped in history and has a connection to Charlotte Brontes novel Jane Eyre. A quaint hamlet where time has forgotten. The surrounding Yorkshire Moors are abundant and right on the door step. Perfect for a hiking holiday. Or just to take in the beautiful surroundings of Wycoller is enough to help you wind down and relax. We have a huge variety of eateries all around us. From Cosy Country Pubs, to Fine Dining.
  • Cozy cottage that makes you feel like you’re home, and the host is wonderful. Jane even left us some sweets for when we arrived. The location is gorgeous, but make sure you’re comfortable driving in the UK as it has narrow roads to get to it. Very close by is a little cafe serving afternoon tea and some interesting manor ruins. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here!

  • Lovely place to stay, lots of character, love the log burner. Good base, close to many beautiful places to walk.

    Jacob2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful. It’s a real gem if you want a quiet get away with some gorgeous walks. There are some fantastic places to eat and drink nearby too, which have to be taken advantage of! Read Jane’s guide, it’s absolutely bang on in its description of places to visit and eat at. We would definitely visit again. Great host who offered lovely personal touches which we all loved. A beautiful part of the world to visit and this place is a gorgeous base to explore it from.

Clitheroe - 7 miles away is the ancient market town of Clitheroe, on the edge of Lancashire’s Forest of Bowland, one of England’s 36 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Clitheroe dates back to Saxon times so by the time the imposing 12th century Norman Castle that towers over the town had been built, Clitheroe had already been around for nearly 1,000 years! Clitheroe Castle, said to be the smallest Norman castle in England, is now home to a Museum and 16 acres of landscaped gardens, which houses attractions to appeal to all ages. Holmes Mill and the Bowlands Beer Hall is a must see, one of the longest bars in Britain – 105ft 4”- and is home to 42 hand pulls and hosts a minimum of 24 individual cask beers at any one time. The decor and design are decidedly industrial but the ambience and the atmosphere are warm and vibrant. Colne - 8 miles away over beautiful hills with quaint pubs and small coffee houses along the way. Drop into busy Colne where you can find highstreet shops and supermarkets such as Matalan, TX Maxx, Next, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Lidl. McDonald's and KFC onsite too. Boundry Mills - High-street fashion, homeware and electronic brands housed in split-level shopping development. Visit nearby Skipton Market Town with the 900 year old Skipton Castle, busy cobbled street market, high-street shops and the wonderful canal-side with restaurants, cafe's and a wide variety of public houses and craft breweries. Settle - challenge yourself to the famous Yorkshire 3 Peaks or just the one! Don't forget to visit the famous Horton in Ribblesdale train station. Also nearby are:- Pendle Hill and Gisburn Forest - great for just a walk or follow the cycle routes. Pendle Waves Leisure Centre - slides, waves and waterside cafe, great for kids. Pendle Hill Witches - Beneath the hill lie pretty villages which tell a story of intrigue and witchcraft nearly 400 years old. You can retrace their steps on the Pendle Witches Walking Trail, or the Pendle Witches Road Trail, as well as the Pendle Sculpture Trail, where you have to find the “ witches” dotted through the woodland.
  • Lovely little dog friendly caravan on a family friendly site with picturesque views and great walks from the doorstep. Brilliant little pub/restaurant on site that provided entertainment (Saturday), singer and higher/lower game. Only 20 mins from Skipton which has a brilliant Saturday market and a fantastic park called Airedale, great for both adults and kids. We will definitely return to Nicky and Paul’s caravan in the future as it was warm, welcoming and clean.

Messages were replied to very quickly and we could not have asked for more. Extra little touches, like chocolates and biscuits being left were really lovely and appreciated. We were warm and cosy, despite the very cold temperatures outside. We did not have time to explore the site properly or the area, but the views were beautiful and we hope to return again. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend.

  • We really enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean, tidy and well looked after, and had all the amenities we could have asked for including Sky TV. The hosts provided nice, clear instructions and were on hand if there were any problems, which there weren't. Would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a lovely relaxing stay here. The rain put a stop to us really exploring the local area but we enjoyed plenty of quality family time in the caravan. Our hosts were very responsive and arrived within 10 mins to fix a little problem we had with the oven. The site is well looked after and very safe and peaceful. There is a good play park for children nearby. Lovely hosts and lovely caravan!
