We are located in the hills of central VT, close to good hiking, skiing and swimming. Our place is a working permaculture homestead/farm. Unwind in the traditional Finnish Sauna, relax by the living pool, or kick back in an Adirondack chair looking out at the hills of VT. No cleaning fee! This is one of two listings at our place. We can accommodate groups of four by booking: 4 season Lower Yurt Stay on VT Small Farm.
“Nestled on a Vermont dirt road overlooking the mountains is one of the best kept secrets we’ve stayed at to date! Jonathan met us as we arrived with a smile and a warm welcome. After introducing us to his sweet children he led us around his farm, giving us the lay of the land. While the Jersey cows and the two sets of twin calves meandered about, we walked the property. The pond and sauna nearJonathan’s home offer a clothing optional experience. An outdoor shower is nearby for anyone interested. We walked down a path with our supplies to the yurt. Inside we found a full size bed, a small couch, a cot, and a wood stove with wood and kindling. We used a propane hot plate with a well seasoned tea kettle to warm water for tea and coffee. Both left for us to prepare our choice in the morning using “the girls’” whole milk if we liked! We found all we needed for cooking (pots, pans and utensils). Outside the yurt was a sink with cold running water, a simple table and an open outhouse a few steps away with a view of the mountains. A short walk brought us to a platform overlooking the mountains with two Adirondack chairs and the “Hippie Hot Tub.” Imagine a claw foot tub filled with water warmed by a fire below. It’s a riot! Jonathan’s place is an experience! If you’ve never stayed in a yurt and love the outdoors, you’ll appreciate the Vermont landscape and warm hospitality this little Shangri-La offers.”

“We had such a nice weekend staying at Matt and Ashley’s cottage! We took advantage of it’s convenient location to 2 wonderful cross country ski centers less than 5 minutes away to get 2 full days of skiing in. The trails were fantastic, well groomed with some beautiful views. The cottage was cozy and warm when we arrived with a nice open floor plan and enjoyed the ambiance of the pellet stove at night. The cottage is well equipped and the bed upstairs is so comfortable, we slept like babies! Thanks again for a wonderful weekend!”

“This is one of the best Airbnb stays and experiences we’ve ever had. Jon was proactive with his communication from the moment we booked our reservation with recommendations for local restaurants and simplified directions for reaching the property. The property is located roughly 25 minutes from Sugarbush which made me an easy commute in the morning. The early morning departures for the mountain were made even easier with access to the heated garage. Such a valuable asset in the cold winter days. The apartment was roomy with ample room and cookware for preparing a meal. Also, the memory foam on the bed and pillows made a restful night of sleep. The entire apartment was sparkling clean. In addition to Jon’s recommendations on local spots to visit, he was gracious enough to give us a tour of the property along with guidance on accessing all of the hiking/snowshoeing trails. We took advantage of the trails around the house and will come prepared with snowshoes for our next visit. Overall, the property and experience exceeded our lofty expectations. We can’t wait to return again soon.”
