The Giraffe house, in the middle of everywhere, nestled in the valley surrounded by hills and sky. Clean, spacious and purpose-built that can accommodate adults and children, dog friendly, with a secure garden and private parking. With its high ceiling, friends, on their first visit, exclaimed the room was tall enough to house giraffes and the nickname has stuck since! Please note, there is a microwave, toaster and kettle. No oven or hob. https://giraffe.house/
“This is a stunning place to stay ! Everything about it is quality and has been thought about,we loved the velux windows , the gorgeous shower and the underfloor heating. I really think the owners could and should charge a bit more because it's worth it. We visited hebden bridge and hardcastle crags which are well worth the 30 min drive even in the winter and I imagine wonderful in the summer. I caught the bus just outside the property to the local market which was quirky and alot of fun then walked back which took about 15 mins.We used the local chippy for tea they were so nice and the food was lovely. The property is very dog friendly and our beagle loved it . The only thing I would change is the garden although pretty secure is not beagle proof as the fence had a small open place which he would have made a bee line for so we kept him on a lead. I have to say most dogs would be fine in this garden but ours likes to escape ! There is a park literally 1 min away aswell. We loved our stay and will book again.”
My home is nestled in the heart of the Calder Valley in Cornholme. Close to Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Burnley and perfect for cyclists, walkers, art lovers, vegetarians & vegans. Log burner for cosy nights in coming end of Nov. There are many gorgeous walks straight from my door step!
“Me and my husband had a nice stay at Donna’s house. We stayed for two nights. The accommodation was clean with a very comfy bed. Although the house was very small it wasn’t a problem. The house was nice and warm and Donna left us some eggs for breakfast on our request, as she was away most of the weekend. Donna was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.”
Treat yourself to a night in the wonderful and wild Pennines! Marvel at the spectacular moorland views and enjoy the rustic experience of outdoor life in a traditional shepherd hut. Stay in the wilderness amongst wild animals and bird life. Enjoy our own domesticated farm animals as well ( goats, horses, cows, sheep and chickens). Get back to nature with the compost loo ( separate hut) and brave the cowboy bath! Expect lots of mud in the winter and dust in the summer - this is a working farm!
“A lovely little break away from busy life. The hut was really well equipped and protected us despite visiting in stormy weather. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to walk amongst nature. Boulsworth Hill and Happa (horse sanctuary and cafe) were great recommendations. Wellies were essential. Despite staying 2 nights we did not run out of things to do and feel there is far more of the area to explore- we will definitely be back!!”
