Secluded in a valley just above a stream, rustic and rural, a great place to get away from it all ,ideal for families,groups or couples. Set in an olive grove of about an acre,with various terraces leading down to a stream at the bottom ( dry in summer) Fenced off private pool 9x5 (approx) with solar heating and bar area and table tennis outside the house. The beach at Torre del Mar is 50 minutes away, along with large supermarkets at Velez-Malaga. The village of Comares is 10 minutes away .

The small house in the square

I like to describe our house as the smallest house in Comares in the most beautiful square in Comares (Plaza de los Verdiales). Imagine sitting on its terrace looking at the image of a unique, beautiful and well-kept town square. A simple village house, with personality, decorated to make you feel comfortable and happy. It is divided into three floors (note, there is no elevator in a traditional village house) the last is a roof terrace where you can see the mountains beyond the village.

We were looking for peace and quiet and that’s what we found! We appreciated the environmental concerns, water conservation and recycling. We were very happy with the simplicity of the house and the great restaurant recommended to us by Maria. Due to the hear we couldn’t do as much walking as we had planned but we were comfortable in the house with air-con and on the gorgeous shady terrace with hammock, loungers and table. I would love to go back in the winter and sit writing at the desk, walking the trails, and enjoying local food and wildlife!

A fantastic accommodation. Perfect for couples. You are completely undisturbed and blessed with absolute privacy. The view and the cottage are beautiful and invite you to linger or spend a cozy day by the pool. The drive up the mountain is a bit tedious, but you will be well compensated by the great view. We found the location of the accommodation to be an optimal centre for excursions to Ronda, Seville, Granada and Cordoba. Each destination is between 1.5 and 2.5 hours' drive (all four are highly recommended). The accommodation was very clean and very practical. Helga is an absolutely reliable and accommodating host.

We had a wonderful holiday from start to finish and picked the perfect place to stay. Jose Antonio’s place had everything you could ask for - it was spotlessly clean and oozed authentic charm whilst offering all the necessary modern amenities. We particularly enjoyed sunbathing by the pool and eating food cooked on the BBQ under the terrace, overlooking that amazing view. When we managed to pull ourselves away from the house, it was a 2 minute walk round to the local bars, restaurants and shops. The locals were really welcoming and child friendly. Correspondence with the hosts was super quick and they went above and beyond to make sure we had the most special and memorable time. We would not hesitate to return here as we felt really well looked after and it was ideal for the holiday we wanted. As the description states, this place truly is a hidden gem! We stayed here for a few days with our American family and it was absolutely fantastic! The house was spotless and comfortable — exactly what you need when traveling with (young) kids. Everything was provided: a well-stocked kitchen with plenty of supplies and all the appliances you could need, which made cooking super easy and enjoyable. Outside, we had a great time using the BBQ, there was plenty of space for the kids to play, and enough room for everyone to relax. The house is perfect for two families traveling together. We felt right at home and would definitely book again. Highly recommended!
