Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Rockbridge County

Ashley and John were superior hosts and their cabin was exactly what we expected as our family celebrated a college graduation in Lexington, about 25 minutes away. Cozy and thoughtfully-appointed, their home was super clean it served our ends ideally, including cooking some steaks on the grill outside! The TV enabled us to check in on playpff basketball too. All in all a great stay! Thanks guys.

Martha's house is just like the pictures! Immaculately clean, artistic, quirky, and full of personality. Spectacular views. Less than 10 min. to W&L and the heart of Lexington. Martha is incredibly kind and thoughtful, and absolutely communicates well. We arrived late at night, and the keypad checkin was a breeze. Highly, highly recommend!

A small group of friends and I stayed at Anne’s place for our best friends wedding. Needless to say, this was the perfect spot. Anne’s place was utterly beautiful and peaceful. The house was so cozy and quaint, the family photos on the wall that depicted the home from a different generation made our stay that much more special. We felt so at home and it was the perfect place to unwind and celebrate our friend. Anne went above and beyond by providing us with fresh eggs, juices, and a variety of other breakfast items. Cooking in the rustic kitchen was hands down our favorite part! 10/10 would recommend staying at Anne’s place!

Rebecca was an outstanding host. An amazing person and a pleasure to be around. The property and house were exactly what we were looking for during our weekend of history. The horses are amazing to be around and the property is so peaceful. It’s a different feel there. The house was beautiful. Highly recommend

We had a very nice stay at Magnolia Cottage. The place was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The wi-fi was fast! It was a very roomy place, with beautiful views of the mountains. We hiked in the mountains, and on the local Chessie Trail. Our host was easily available, and had local recommendations. We would definitely stay here again if in the area! Thank you!

This place in the mountains is BEAUTIFUL! I wanted to stay longer. I was there for my graduation from Liberty University. It was about an hour away, but it worked for me because the property was large enough to house all of my family and friends. Jennifer was VERY responsive. The kitchen was amazing. There is a Food Lion about 6 minutes away down the hill, and restaurants. My grandsons and niece loved the outdoor play area. My husband loved the fire pit. I loved sitting on the porch on the swing. We stayed at this home for W&L graduation. It was just as described and was well-appointed and clean. There was a ramp to the first floor which was accommodated one of our guests who had mobility issues. The home has plenty of space and worked well for our group of 8. It is in a somewhat remote location (which we knew when we booked) with beautiful views of the mountains. The hosts were responsive to all of our inquiries. Unfortunately, now that our son has graduated we probably won't have an occasion to stay here again but we would definitely recommend it if you don't mind a 20 minute ride to the W&L campus.

It was such a wonderful and peaceful stay at Wal-Lu farms! The view was absolutely amazing. We loved watching the cows, the deer that visited us every evening and the horse that kept us entertained from across the road! The house was beautifully decorated, cozy, and everything we had hoped for! We truly enjoyed our visit and can’t wait until our next stay! Thanks to Amanda for being a great host and having us as a guest!

The place was as described and in a very peaceful area. Close to nearby attractions but still with a country vibe. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely return if in the area.

It is a lovely property. Serene, quiet & beautiful. The stream is lovely in front of the property! The grandkids caught so many crawdads each day, always returning them to the water. But they had so much fun doing it. We ended each day with smores by the fire. It's our second year in a row there & the kids couldn't wait to get back. Neither could we! Thanks Pete & Megan!

We absolutely loved our stay here! It is quiet, peaceful and has a beautiful river flowing behind the house with a tree swing. We enjoyed our coffee on the screened-in porch watching the ducks swim around in the river with their babies. If you have a student at W&L or VMI, this is a perfect location! Our daughter just graduated from W&L. I wish I would have discovered this gem sooner!

This place was as advertised and a perfect peaceful getaway with cows within yards of the cabin. Wil was also a very gracious host and made our stay well worth it.

We were looking for a cabin, hoping to find a quiet place to rest, relax and recharge in nature. We never dreamed that we would find an authentic 18th century cabin located in the forest on a mountain top - with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The inside of the cabin was beautifully furnished as would be expected in colonial Virginia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the experience of stepping back in time.

Our family of three had a wonderful stay at this charming cabin! It was the perfect mix of peaceful and fun—the setting by the river is incredibly relaxing, and our child absolutely loved watching the horses and exploring the open space. The cabin was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully stocked kitchen and cozy common areas. We spent our mornings sipping coffee on the porch, took easy day trips into Lexington, and enjoyed quiet evenings by the fireplace. If you’re looking for a family-friendly retreat surrounded by nature and animals, this place is a gem. We’d definitely come back!

Had a great stay at the cabin in Big Island, VA. The place was clean, peaceful, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Loved being surrounded by nature and close to hiking spots. Would definitely come back!
