Contemporary Farmhouse With Amazing Views

CynthiaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We feel so fortunate to have spent 2 glorious nights at Halldor’s house with our 2 college-aged sons. The house design is exquisite: a perfect blend of simplicity, style, and sophistication but lacking in pretension. The house is designed with windows and glass doors looking out over the property. In every direction there are rolling fields and river views. We loved dunking in the river and racing up to the sauna. We also loved the outdoor shower. We lit a fire each night and cooked meals in the wonderful kitchen. The only downside to the house is that you never want to leave it! But we did enjoy going into town. The Settlement museum offered a very good intro to Iceland history. This was a perfect place for us to stay on our way to the West Fjords. I truly hope we come back and stay much longer next time. Thank you, Halldor, for creating such a beautiful home.

Small single room Magga in old remote house

Being able to stay in this cozy icelandic farmhouse at the base of one of the fjords was the highlight of my Iceland trip. Staying here felt like you got the true Icelandic home experience being on a sheep farm and surrounded by the beautiful Fjord. The house has a very quaint and cozy lived in feel and being surrounded by the sheep and the water just added to the experience. It was very Idyllic and getting to meet the host and hear about the history of the house and about Beggi's life just added to the experience. I will definitely be booking this place again the next time I make my way to Iceland.

We loved the place! We were alone and the house is cozy, with a jacuzzi and incredible views. Everything perfectly explained and easy to find, as they send you the exact location. It was perfect for us to disconnect and appreciate the landscape and the common areas. Totally recommended.

We only stopped for a short night sleep but we had a very pleasant and calmed night. Wojciech is very friendly and was always attentive to our messages. We would definitely stay here again.

The cottage is either very new or very well maintained. You can park the car right next to it. The communal kitchens are well equipped, there are even air fryers. The hot tubs are great and there's even a hair dryer.

A Room with endless View

ValerieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beautiful and quiet location. Can walk out right to the water and watch the birds. Large dining and social area. Kitchen a good size. Bathrooms were spacious and clean, but none are located on the third floor - one is on the second floor and the two larger ones with laundry machines and showers were on the first floor.

The Old shop apartment

This is a magical country side accommodation. I loved it so much that I came back at the end of my trip to stay a couple more days. The surrounding were serene, with a small bridge to cross, beautiful dogs and horses. The space was simple and clean.

What a wounderful remote location for leisure! Eydis is very responsible and kind, she even would like to allow guests to use their own washer and dryer which is not included. Thanks her father’s sharing and good advice for us to explore more in the west fjords! We will miss the good place and hope to visit them next time very soon in Winter.
