Eco-Barn in Brecon Beacons

AliceRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful barn conversion. Everything was high spec and it was a cosy yet spacious living space. Lovely kitchen and we were able to cook all our meals. Log burner was gorgeous as were the comfy sofas and chairs (my 8 year old son said the arm chairs were the most comfortable he had ever sat in!). My mother in law loved the high quality pillows and I was really pleased about the lovely hand wash and shower gel. Luxury touches! The surrounding countryside is breathtaking. We walked to the top of the hill opposite for panoramic mountain views. Had lovely afternoons out in Brecon and Hay on Wye. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Flagstone Cottage, Broadley Farm

Jean-MaryRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Wonderful long weekend at Flagstone Cottage, the most peaceful place we’ve ever been, no car noises whatsoever and beautiful scenery. Cottage was exactly as described. We asked for the BBQ to come back out and Clare actually brought out all the outside furniture for us to use which was a nice surprise when we got back from our day trip. Our 5yo daughter loved the mezzanine bedroom and being able to have multiple baths a day (we only have a shower at home). The walk from Llanthony Priory up Hatterhall hill is amazing and the pint in the priory grounds at the end was very scenic and rewarding! Hay-On-Wye is well worth a visit, Abergavenny also.

Cottage retreat in isolated Welsh hills - sleeps 4

KerryRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Trish's cottage is a cosy little bolthole in the stunning Welsh countryside. We instantly felt at home and couldn't get over how pretty the view was. Beds are comfy and everything was spotlessly clean. We'd love to stay again.

Award- winning hideaway in the hills

TimRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Staying at Cae’r Beili in April was magical. Meryl was friendly and warm as she introduced us to the beautiful converted barn. The air was full of the sounds of sheep and their lambs with easy viewing from the lovely glass-enclosed sunroom. Looking out across the Carmarthenshire hills is a soothing experience and we enjoyed a long walk through the fields to the waterfall and back. The accommodations worked very well for our family (two children and four adults, one with limited mobility). If you want to experience the heart of rural Wales I highly recommend coming to Cae'r Beili - you may experience a little "hiraeth" after you return home.

Romance Under The Stars

DimoRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A fantastic little escape — serene, peaceful, and offering a stunning panoramic view. It is wonderfully remote and secluded, yet ideally located for local hikes and exploring the Brecon Beacons. The lovely little carriage is beautiful and cosy, perfectly fitting the whole 'closer to nature' experience. Graham is an excellent host: friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The freshly baked loaf was such a nice touch as well. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay!

Beautifully renovated rural barn conversion.

JamesRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved our stay at Hannah's place. Lovely home, perfect for our family. The house is well set up with everything you'd need and really clean and tidy. Lots of things for our 2 year old daughter to do and play with and really safe for her too, stair gates, enclosed private yard etc. Hannah was very helpful with directions and providing things we asked for like a high chair and cot. The location is really peaceful and quiet and was perfectly situated to get to loads of great walks and other activities in the Beacons and surrounding areas. We would recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to the region.

Bechan Retreats-Barn Owl Lodge

JaniceRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is an absolutely gorgeous lodge. It had everything we needed and really felt like a home from home. Waking up and looking out to fields, lambs and cows was so relaxing. The only thing to consider when booking is if you are happy to drive everywhere as you can't walk to a pub or shop. Would thoroughly recommend this lodge.

Luxury 2 bedroom barn conversion with hot tub

ColetteRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We stayed for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. the Stables is gorgeous, spotlessly clean and tidy. It was a lovely calming space to be in. The hot tub was amazing and made our 13 year old very happy. Super spacious bedrooms, fully usable kitchen, comfy sofa - perfect! This was close to many, many places and ideal for families. Easy to book, clear instructions on how to get to and get in the property. We would most definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Idyllic, refurbished character barn. Sleeps 2.

RobRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Powell’s Barn - absolutely delightful. We felt at home from the moment we arrived: the place was spacious, spotlessly clean and very well laid out. Perhaps best of all was the view across the valley, a panorama we never tired of, whether it was sitting at the dining room table or relaxing outside at one of the three alternative locations in the garden you could chill out in. Vera and Ian were delightful hosts, very easy to talk to and with lots of helpful ideas. I particularly like Ian’s suggestion of turning a rather aimless stroll the evening we arrived into a visit to the Shoemakers Arms - a 45 minute walk to get there, true, but well worth it. Above all, we soaked up the peaceful atmosphere - all we ever heard during our stay was birdsong (including a cuckoo), the sheep calling to one another across the fields and at night, the hooting of owls. Magical.

The Old Exchange

ManrajRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Gemma was an incredible host, she gave us a huge list of great recommendations in the local area which was really helpful. She was super friendly and communicative and made the stay so stress free and wonderful. The place was even better than we thought it would be. It was so cosy and well equipped. The bathroom was huge and clean. Everything you could ever need was within 10 minutes by car and plenty was easily walkable. Highly recommend! :)

Gaer Hall Guilsfield a country mansion with hottub

BronteRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Had a really love couple of nights with a group of friends over New Years Eve. Margaret was really helpful, she met us when we arrived and showed us around the house so we knew where everything was. The place is huge so that was really helpful. It looks just like the photos and is in a really lovely place, we could see horses out of our window and at night the stars were really bright. It was a perfect countryside escape and really well suited to a big group of people.

Carpenter's Cottage, a fabulous barn conversion

SallyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Carpenters Cottage - it’s spacious, clean, extremely well equipped, and set among a beautiful farmland with woods and lakes. We loved the tour of the 14th century chapel (thank you Rupert!) and my son was beside himself with excitement to spot the pigs, dogs, and tractors going past. The property is even better than it looks on the photos. Thank you to Harriet for a wonderful break

Great location, superb grounds and a lovely and homely barn! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend for all. The property itself is immaculate and felt very homely. Nancy accommodated our party tremendously and went the extra mile to ensure our children (2 & 4) were looked after. The property is superbly located with great grounds to explore and local ammenities/ attractions only a short drive away. We look forward to visiting in the near future. Thank you Nancy & Tim!

Comfort & tranquility off the beaten track

JoeRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Wow... What a beautiful and peaceful tucked away place to stay. Outstanding country with hundreds of walks of all varieties, hills, forests, woodlands, green pastures and picturesque villages to immerse oneself. It's only a 45 minute walk over a hill through woodland and pastures, before the pretty town of Clun is in view from on high. We barely used the car once we arrived. The farm has a beautiful and lush terraced garden with many peaceful and private spots to sit, relax and view their valley. Barn conversion has been carefully thought out with a real home from home feel and possibly the best equipped holiday home I've had the pleasure to stay. Leena & Geoff are the icing on the cake. They are kind, warm, welcoming, accommodating hosts. We'll definitely be staying again!
