“Stayed here with my wife and young family for 2 nights. We were the first guests since Covid closure of all accommodation and the lodge was very clean and well equipped. Location was great, just 5 minutes from Penrith yet looking out at fields of cows, sheep and lots of rabbits which our kids loved. It’s a great base to explore the Lake District and we loved the decor and little touches in the property. We had a lovely stay, May was nice to deal with and we hope to stay again in the future. Thanks again.”

“Whether you are just passing through, using Rob's place as a base to explore the area on a longer stay or just want somewhere to unwind then you really can't get much better. Rob and Jane are excellent hosts and provided some lovely touches on our arrival including delivery of fresh lettuce and cucumber from their garden. Perfectly nestled above a delightfully babbling brook, the outdoor seating area is perfect and gives a great view over to the well stocked bird and squirrel feeders opposite that bustle with activity from dawn until dusk. We'd only been there 15 minutes and had already ticked off Red Squirrel, Woodpeckers, Siskins, Grey Wagtails, Nuthatches and many more! There are a number of sheep on the land and they are able to graze right up to the kitchen window, joining us for several meals 🐑 Who knew watching sheep could be so therapeutic! The accommodation itself is excellent and and has all the home comforts you need after a day of exploring the area or if you just want to kick back and relax. Highly recommended and my only advice would be that you don't forget your camera or your binoculars. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.”
Set in a quiet converted Mews, the Granary is a cosy, light and spacious apartment with bath and shower, kitchen, dining area, lounge and separate bedroom with king sized bed.
“Myself and wife stayed for 2 nights at the granary, the location was lovely, stunning views and walks right on the doorstep, the flat itself is located in a mews building that is very in keeping with the surroundings, there is a bedroom, living area with kitchen and a bathroom with bath and shower, so you have everything you need. If you don't have a car then you may have a bit of a problem getting about due to the remoteness of Bampton but we didn't have that issue. There's a lovely local pub about half a mile away that's was very friendly and accommodating, we noticed there was another pub that was a lot closer but it was closed (due to COVID-19 probably). Penrith is only a short drive away and Haweswater is a short(ish) walk away. All in all we were very happy with our stay and would stay there again without hesitation.”
