Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Polk County

We had such a nice Christmas stay with a handful of adults and kids. The property and view is pretty, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make Christmas dinner. This was a great spot for young kids since it is free of clutter and has an additional family room in the basement they could run around and watch TV in. Would love to return in the summer to experience the river and outdoor space.

Broken Pitchfork Farm was EXACTLY like, if not better than the pictures illustrated. It was beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and the perfect getaway from the cities. I took four teenagers out there and they did not complain once. They enjoyed all the house and farm had to offer. We extremely enjoyed the bonfire, hot tub, surrounding land, the spacious house and amenities, and the cute little animals. I especially appreciated the interior decor; all the accents complimented the house so well and just makes you feel so welcomed and at home. Adding to the house, Heather is amazing. She is extremely responsive and very friendly. She checked on me regularly and made sure I had what I needed. Additionally, Dave, the farmer, was equally great and took good care of us as well. We got to interact with the farm animals, which was an added experience that we were honored to have. Overall, it was definitely one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had, and I will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful stay for a weekend of board games with friends. Enjoyed walking the property, meeting the horses and the friendly dogs from a nearby home. Would definitely stay here again.

That’s the first place with sharp knives and enough q-ty of utensils (spoons, forks etc) :) We loved the place and definitely would recommend or return back.

We absolutely LOVED our stay. The Haven’s place is beautiful, fully stocked with everything you could need (& more), peaceful, and extremely cozy. The decor and style makes you feel right at home, along with a spacious yard and beautiful river view. Our group of 10 people fit comfortably and loved every second of our stay! We could not recommend this place more!

We were fortunate that the weather for our late fall weekend in November was beautiful. We were able to explore Taylor's Falls and the surrounding area. There was plenty to do, but we found we gravitated toward going back to the house and take in the coziness of it. The kitchen and living areas were large enough for the 3 couples to comfortably make meals and visit. The kitchen was well equipped for meal preperation and serving. The expansive collection of drinkware had a glass for every type of drink we could make and then some. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and the best bed and bathroom linens we have had at any short-term rental. The only downside we encounter were the slippery wooden floors and stairs. This was easily overcome by wearing slippers. We highly recommend staying at The Perfect Valley Getaway!

Sarah was very communicative, providing clear instruction for location and check in and asking if we needed anything else. The place itself was very homey and clean. There were snacks and coffee provided and a fully stocked kitchen including cooking and baking utensils, cooking oil, and seasoning. The decor and furniture made it feel very cozy!

Rhonda and the building she has decorated and managed is outstanding and beautiful. The artistry and attention to details makes this an ideal getaway and cozy retreat!

It’s a basement apartment in a house. From the materials used Id guess it was done in the 70s? Outside entrance around the back. It is probably the cleanest Air B&B that I’ve ever been in. That was really appreciated. It is very, very roomy for a 1 br apartment. The owner appears to be very kind. She is certainly responsive and proactive removing snow and salting when needed.

The apartment is tastefully furnished and with a lot of love for detail. All the important things are there. Everything is perfectly clean and tidy. Sarah and Jason were always available and supported us great. We will be happy to come back!
