Rural Retreat at a Cozy Winelands Loft

Enjoy dinner from the braai on the shared, covered patio off this loft set in the historic Cape Dutch barracks, just off of the scenic Helshoogte Pass. Vintage accents throughout and fully modernised appliances mix effortlessness with convenience. Historic newly-renovated loft in rural village settlement. Within a 7 minute drive from Stellenbosch on the road towards the stunning Franschoek Valley. Well-equipped kitchen Air-conditioner Outdoor barbecue & dining area (Shared) Allocated Street Parking Bay in front of loft Quality pod-coffee Cleaning upon arrangement at an extra charge Per email, sms or telephone call or via the Airbnb app. We are not on site permanently and will therefore not be able to welcome you in person. Please let us know when you arrive telephonically so that we can let you in remotely! The loft is located in a rural settlement with easy access to Stellenbosch and Franschoek. Tokara Winery is highly recommended for wines and superb views, as well as a deli and restaurant. For a hearty breakfast, try nearby Hillcrest Berries. The rural setting is ideal for those with their own transport. There are shuttle services available in the area, but it is recommended guest have their own transport to fully explore the winelands. Uber has recently also become available and is expanding daily. Mountain biking and cycling on the mountain pass are favourite pastimes, as is hiking. Please be so kind as to communicate your approximate ETA to facilitate welcome and key hand-over at least 24-hours before arrival. As can be expected in a little country haven, there are no convenience stores in close proximity to The Barracks. We advise you to do your grocery shopping in Stellenbosch (a short 7 minute drive away) before you arrive if you plan to dine at the unit. The nature of the lofts in the historic building is that they are semis, closely situated next to one another and therefore it is important to be courteous and keep in mind that noise levels should be kept down, especially after 10h00 pm.
