The Shackteau

A rustic cabin, right out of “Deliverance.” Inside, it's a well equipped clean and cozy retreat overlooking the world famous Margaree River and hills. Margaree Forks is a great place to get away from it all, yet close to everything in western Cape Breton. I believe my happiest guests are those who are familiar with the camping lifestyle but now want something more comfortable. The owners now live in their new home on the property. New heat pump which provides air conditioning in summer months also just installed. Note: new stairs to second floor are slightly steeper than normal. Near pub and restaurants. Pebble beach within 5 min walk. Owner lives away, managed by local hotel manager (Albert's Motel ) No smoking and no pets please (strict).
