Holiday houses in Platanes

We had a wonderful week staying in Michalis’ apartment. Views from both balconies from Apartment Two were spectacular, panoramic of the Amari Valley and Mount Ida still snow capped in the background. The apartment was immaculate and suited our needs very well. Any additional requests were dealt with swiftly. We mainly catered for ourselves in the morning and had two lovely breakfasts in Michalis’ Taverna. Meronas is a pretty village and enjoyed meals at Taverna’s Alona & Moschovolies. There was great hiking from the doorstep and only a short drive to Patsos Gorge. There is an excellent patisserie and supermarket in Gerikari a short drive away and supermarkets and pharmacy in Agia Fotini, 2.5 km away. We stayed end of April which was great as not too hot to hike but be aware many Taverna’s closed this time of year as off season. Would highly recommend a stay at Michalis’ apartments, another unforgettable holiday for us!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Despina! The location is fantastically quiet, perfect for relaxing, and at the same time a good base for exploring the south of Crete. The villa itself is very clean, lovingly furnished and well equipped – from the kitchen to the beautiful outdoor area with pool, everything was well maintained. We particularly liked the warm hospitality and the little touches when we arrived. We felt right at home! A real highlight: the fantastic view of the surrounding nature and the sunsets in the evening. We will be happy to come back and can recommend Villa Despina to anyone looking for peace, comfort and Cretan warmth. Thank you for everything!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Vasilis’ stone house. Nestled in nature and surrounded by an olive grove, it’s the perfect place to disconnect and relax. Every morning we woke up to the sounds of cicadas, birds and a distant sheep herd, a magical experience. The terrace is sheltered from the wind and even when the weather gets a bit cooler, it’s still warm enough to spend plenty of time outside in the hammocks and deck chairs. The house is beautifully secluded in an area completely untouched by mass tourism, which we really appreciated. Wi-fi still works well if needed. Within a 15–20 minute drive, you’ll find lovely beaches with both sand and stones. The house itself is warm, not damp at all, and we slept comfortably, there were plenty of blankets and towels. When it is very windy outside, some earplugs might be useful, but most nights were very calm. Communication with Vasilis was excellent, he was very reliable, responded quickly, uncomplicated check in/out. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful villa! The house is truly luxurious, in perfect condition, and tastefully designed with great attention to detail. The layout of the rooms is simply brilliant — spacious, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing and spending quality time together. The heated pool was one of our favorite features — always at the perfect temperature to cool down and unwind at any time of the day. The location couldn’t be better: just a few minutes’ walk to the beach, where you’ll find plenty of great restaurants, cafes, and shops. A very special thank you to our amazing hosts! They were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always just a message away. Every little question or request was answered within minutes — we felt truly taken care of from the very first moment. A beautiful place, very clean and Panos is a very nice host! Everything was exactly as described, the kitchen super equipped. You almost always hear the bells or the mowing of the sheep. The place is about 15min drive from the next larger road, we were still out every day. It was only 2 minutes by car to the small Triopetra beach. The next tavernas weren't open yet, but Panos still had great recommendations for us.

Great stay at Kerames. We stayed as a couple with a baby of 5 months, and it was very appropriate. Especially as the bedrooms are at a different floor from the rest. The place feels very peaceful and the view is stunning. Very authentic village full of charm, with cute restaurants. The house looks great, like the photos or even better. There are many shade spots around the house. Interior is overall well equipped. I overall highly recommend the place.
