BETWEEN SEATTLE AND PORTLAND THERE IS LOG HOLLOW... UPDATE: see below for info regarding covid-19 …an off-grid permaculture farm invites you to take a break from your busy life and retreat to a cozy cabin settled in the woods along the Chehalis river. You will stay in a private cabin with it’s own bathroom and kitchenette, powered by solar energy. The main room has a queen-sized bed while the sleeping loft has a double-sized bed. We welcome ALL families with children of all ages.
“Had a great weekend in this small rustic, off-grid cabin. The hosts are very friendly and will tell you whatever you want to know about their working farm. There are four cats, lots of goats, chickens, cows, horses, and a duck. It was cold enough that there was ice on the porch in the morning, but we slept very well even without leaving the heater on at night. But if you are not as cold-blooded as we are, there are two good heaters you can turn on. I found the bed very comfortable (slept in the one on the ground floor, not the loft). For cooking, the kitchen area was well stocked with utensils and misc. cooking items. Again, the hosts are super friendly, and all you have to do is ask for anything you need.”
Lovely guest cottage in the country surrounded by tall cedar trees. Enjoy all the area has to offer. Swiss hall is just a mile away. Rainbow Falls State Park is 15 miles off scenic Hwy. #6. The park has miles of trails through old growth forest, great swimming holes, and picnic shelters. Just 20 miles to downtown Raymond and Hwy. 101 to the Pacific Ocean where you can stroll beaches, watch sunsets, and find lots of clams.
“This cabin is so sweet. Theres a small fireplace and wood. The place is very cute and cozy. The property is gorgeous and you're surrounded by trees. You're out in the woods and I did not get very much signal, but Lorraine has provided a telephone in case you need to make phone calls. You're in the beautiful countryside and it's a great little getaway. Bring some books or games or download a movie for the evenings and go for a nice drive in nature during the daytime. Would definitely come back!”
This is a lovely, quiet, private room with a shared bath. Free Wi-fi. If it's dark, the porch light under the carport will be on. Look for the red door. My house is on the right as you drive up the hill. Continental breakfast includes: gourmet coffee and/or a pot of tea will always be ready in the morning. We'll also have fruit, hard-cooked, organic eggs, bagels or my baked goods on hand. Continental Breakfast available until 9:00 a.m.
“Sarah's was perfect for me traveling through. Great hospitality and she was very accommodating. I usually do not rent rooms in homes as I like my privacy, but she made me feel very comfortable and like I was part of the family. My bed was comfortable, I got a great night sleep. Woke up to a wonderful breakfast and a great shower...I couldn't have asked for anything better! I would happily stay again!”
