House with a view of the Alpine valley

EszterRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Carlo's place is great of you want to enjoy a few quiet days. It has everything you need in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. We could stay in the garden as well, no mosquitos or flies. No AC in the house but it was more or less ok even these hot days. The house is in a quiet area, but a few minutes drive from town centre.

Typical Carnic house

GiorgioRating, 5 stars9 months ago
The stay was very pleasant, the weather "helped" us by giving us fresh days, with sun and very rare rain. In the tiny but beautiful village of Illegio, not far from Tolmezzo, we visited the beautiful exhibition "Il Coraggio" with forty masterpieces (including works by Caravaggio, Perugino, Finson, Guercino, Kandinsky, Pomodoro), not to be missed, open until November 3, 2024. We recommend an exit in the day, reaching Malga Pramosio by car (there are 7 km of dirt road, but feasible by car), then on foot follow the CAI trail 402 that will take you to the Avostanis pond at 1936 m. Along the way there is a plaque dedicated to the Carnica bearer Maria Plozner Mentil, struck by an Austro-Hungarian sniper during the Great War. Other places within an hour by car recommended: Sappada (especially Cima Sappada), Sauris, Venzone. Matteo is a wonderful person, maximum friendliness and availability.

Grandma's Apartment

AlanaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
I had a fantastic stay in Sutrio, located at the foot of Monte Zoncolan, where I was able to do a lot of bike rides to train. Grandma's apartment was new, clean and very spacious: there was enough space for luggage and bicycles. There was a local bar, a supermarket, a butcher shop and a bakery, all within a 300-metre walk from the apartment. I rode every day directly out the door and was able to visit Zoncolan, Sappada, Sauris, Tolmezzo, Chiusaforte, Ampezzo, Ovaro and many other surrounding towns and villages, even going beyond the border with Austria! Michael and his family were very kind and showed me the local carpentry workshop and even took me for a coffee at the local bar. I am very grateful for their hospitality and generosity and hope to return next year!
