Holiday houses in Palmer Rapids

We just got back from a lovely stay at the cottage on Spectacle Lake, and even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we truly had a great time. The rain kept us mostly indoors, but the cozy fireplace turned out to be a blessing we spent our time just relaxing, listening to the rain, and soaking in the peaceful vibe. The cottage itself is tucked away in such a private, serene spot. Waking up to the sound of birds and looking out over the calm water from every window was incredibly calming. Everything was so clean and well cared for. Waking up to birdsong and calm water views from every window was such a treat. I was thrilled to finally spot a few beaver lodges in the Madawaska Valley — a small dream come true! The cottage was clean, the docks looked great, and having fresh drinking water available was such a thoughtful and sustainable touch. We didn’t get the clear skies we hoped for to stargaze, but that just gives us a reason to come back and we definitely will.

Very cozy cabin. Has everything you could need, all what you have to bring is your clothings. We even had the chance to taste their homemade maple syrup! Close enough to Bancroft but still tranquil, nobody can access the cabin but you. We saw people stopping by on the otherside of the lake but it feels OK and not invading, it is far enough to not care. Wildlife was abundant. We did not have much mosquitoes or annoying bugs outside and literally none inside. We went there as a couple with a dog and, once used to the space the cabin offers, did not feel squeezed, although it is not huge. Hosts were very kind and responsive. If you like small, serene and cozy places, this is a must try.

This place is awesome! It is a unique camping experience being able to sleep in tents with beds and to have a washroom with plumbing was the icing on the cake. The area is beautiful and there is tons to do. The swimming, rope swing and volleyball kept us entertained. The amenities are excellent that we really only had to bring our food and everything was so clean. Scott was extremely helpful before, during and after our stay; a wonderful host! We would love to go again and highly recommend this place.

We stayed at the 'Red Pine Adventure House' for a group trip and had an incredible time! The setting is absolutely beautiful—right on the river with the peaceful sound of the rapids. We had our private dock with multiple watercrafts, which were clean and in excellent condition. The house was spacious and cozy, with plenty of room for everyone to hang out together. The large windows in the living room facing the riverside were a highlight. The kitchen had everything we needed for our group to prepare the meals.. Something noteworthy is that the host did not cheap out on any of the equipment/utensils in the house. They were all premium! Adian was very friendly and made our experience super smooth! He was very responsive to any messages we sent and was very informative. He was also very accommodating to some of our extra requests. Highly recommend this spot for any group looking to reconnect with nature, share some laughs, and make great memories. We'd definitely come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lorie's cottage! The cottage was incredibly clean and well-stocked with everything we needed and more. Despite the first two days being cold and rainy, we had a fantastic time indoors, spending quality time with our kids playing board games and doing puzzles. Once the weather improved, we took full advantage of the lake. The water was warm and perfect for swimming, and we loved having access to kayaks, a pedal boat, and paddle boards. It's the ideal place for a peaceful escape, and we would highly recommend Lorie's cottage to anyone looking for a quiet retreat.

We loved our stay in this little A-frame. The surroundings are beautiful (in the middle of the forest surrounded by trees, birds and the sky). The little house has everything one can need, and after a long day of physical activity in the Algonquin Park, having the hot tub and cold plunge felt like a dream. The bed is one of the comfiest I have EVER slept in, and the sound of rain on the metal roof on the last night was simply enchanting. We also loved that it was close to activities, yet you felt truly secluded in the forest, with only nature surrounding you. Thank you !

Extremely responsive and friendly host - our WiFi dropped off after flickering and they came round the next morning to fix it and gave us some fresh eggs! Loved the space and amenities and would definitely stay again!
