This is one of the few remaining pure Japanese-style sho-inzukuri buildings in Hiroshima City, built 75 years ago, shortly after the war.One step from the main street, in a quiet environment, there is a small Japanese-style garden where you can relax. There are items in the Mai House that are only kept there, such as a vase that partially melted due to the heat from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, and photographs from around 100 years ago. The fixtures and fittings and the glass date back more than 70 years, and the two gardens, the irigata (raised floor area) and the study, in particular, capture the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house. At present, these items can only be obtained by placing an order with a select group of craftspeople. Guest House Kokoro is located one block from Miyajima's Machiya-dori Street. 　When you pass through the warm curtain at the entrance, you are guided to the courtyard by stepping stones, with bamboo walls reminiscent of a Kyoto row house restaurant. The first floor is a living room, and the second floor is a two-room Japanese-style bedroom, and up to 6 people can stay comfortably. 　In the courtyard, there is a white stone character "kokoro" (heart) inscribed in the gravel.
