Next to a working farm, Castlehill has three large bedrooms each with double bed and one has two bunk beds. Also two bathrooms, a large kitchen-diner and sitting rooms with a double sofa-bed. The Sanday dial-a-bus operates a ferry pick-up. A shop and pubs are close. The nearby loch is good for trout fishing. Sit-on-top kayaks available to hire. Life vests provided.

In the midst of the historic sites in the west mainland including Skara Brae, Maeshowe and Ness of Brogar, and only a few miles from Stromness and Kirkwall. Beautiful beaches of Birsay and Skail are also a short drive away. We are also on the shore of the Harray Loch which is renowned for its trout fishing.

A perfect location for viewing local wildlife or visiting archaeological sites such as the"Tomb of the Eagles", or wartime sites such as Hoxa Head and the Italian Chapel. A 20 minutes walk from 3 beaches and the Sands Hotel Bar and Restaurant. A 20 minute drive to Kirkwall, over the Churchill Barriers with their historic shipwrecks.

Situated within the UNESCO World Heritage Site -Heart of Neolithic Orkney. Ideally placed for wild brown/seatrout fishing; walking and cycling. You'll find the wonderfully scenic RSPB 1.5 mile Lochside Nature Reserve which leads to the 5000 y/o Ring of Brodgar. Otters, seals and many birds are often viewed enroute & from the cottage window. Eastward: - multi-award-winning Ness of Brodgar - 5 minutes further and you'll find the Standing Stones of Stenness.

This apartment is situated 7 miles from main town of Kirkwall - adjacent to the Churchill Barriers and the beautiful, famous Italian Chapel. A postoffice, shop, pub/restaurant (temporally closed), small gallery are close.The property is two minutes from the shore with access to St.Marys walk and a woodland walk around the Lock of Ayre, ideal for dog walkers.
