Wow what an amazing view! Also an amazing garden full of hummingbirds and other lovely birds. Friendly horse that came to visit twice and reached its head over the fence. Neighbor Lilander gave us a picturesque horseback ride with a gorgeous jungle hike to a private waterfall. El Castillo is a remote, steep village. The bakery is terrific and the little market is super helpful. We enjoyed La Ventanita and Fusion for dinners. Anna and the other hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful. Thank you!!

I came to this beautiful place after the passing of my dad, just trying to find a little peace after a really hard moment—and this home was exactly what my heart needed. Surrounded by nature and right by the most beautiful Carrillo beach, it felt like a little pocket of calm and healing. The house itself is peaceful, super comfortable, and even better than the pictures. And Matthias! wow. He was truly spectacular. His communication was top-notch—kind, responsive, and thoughtful from start to finish. I’m so grateful for this space and for the way everything came together. Thank you, Matthias, for helping create such a meaningful and peaceful experience. I’ll never forget it.

Four of us stayed at the Hidden Jewel and it was absolutely a beautiful spot to mark birthday occasions. The view is amazing and so peaceful. Spotless bbq was a bonus to keep the heat outside. Everything was clean, no clutter and the bedrooms had ample room for clothing. The pool was a real bonus as the weather was very hot so nice to have that to cool off. The one thing we were disappointed in was that we expected the pool to be maintained more often. We realize that this home is high up in the hills and will get debris from all the trees however it sounded like there would be more maintaining of the pool. We only saw the pool maintenance guy once over 9 days.He vacuumed the bottom of pool but never looked at the skimmer. By day 6 of our stay we had so much debris in pool we didn’t want to go in. Also road up to house, definitely need 4 wheel. Many cars could not get up like Uber driver who took us to dinner had to drop us midway along with airport taxi.

A very beautiful house that has privacy in the jungle canopy. It is esthetically pleasing and all of the amenities worked well and were lovely to use. No TV or microwave, but all other amenities are there. WiFi worked great. Only went out super quick a couple times. One quick power outage. To be expected in this country and area. Didn’t bother us a bit. I agree the road below can be loud during busy times but we so enjoyed the pool and deck for several hours a day and evening. Howler monkeys sleep in the trees on the property and are so fun to watch. You must have a 4x4 SUV to get through rough roads high grades and loose gravel. The drive is steep and difficult to get up without the proper SUV. The management was extremely helpful and responsive with any issues or questions we had. The roads coming in at dark at night. They had someone to help us find the place right when we were arriving!! We loved this place and will stay again

The place was amazing. Lush vegetation surrounding a pristine pool. There were two homes on the premises and would be ideal for a large family. Especially for a family reunion. The outdoor covered grill area next to the pool is perfect for a large gathering. Only word of caution be ready for ants in the kitchen. Don't leave any food on counter, including fruit.

We had an amazing time at this Airbnb. We honestly did not want to leave. It was extremely private, clean, Madeleine responded very quickly to every message sent. Her co host was right down the road and helped with anything we needed as well. The garden is gorgeous, the pool was perfect, and we felt right at home. So many beautiful touches to the property. Everyday we could hear the howler monkeys and most days they were right outside in the trees. So many birds as well. We really loved this Airbnb it was perfect for our stay. The beaches are so close and the small restaurants in the village had great food. Super close to Montezuma Falls as well. Will definitely be coming back!!!

Our family really enjoyed this home - especially seeing the monkeys, having great swings for our daughter to play on, and an amazing rooftop view!! When the pool pump was not working properly, Rafal was there very quickly to fix the timer and was very personable. When in this area, we would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful home! The view from the patio is absolutely spectacular — we spent hours just watching the clouds roll over the mountains, spotting birds and wildlife right from the comfort of our chairs. The home was spotless and clearly well cared for, which made us feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights was the thoughtful welcome basket with fresh fruit and local coffee. We arrived just before a big storm rolled in and didn’t have time to stop for supplies, so having those essentials waiting for us in the kitchen was a huge relief and incredibly appreciated. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic escape. We would absolutely stay here again!

Daiana’s home was wonderful. We only spent 24 hours in Monteverde and we are so glad we chose this house. Our host was accommodating with a late check out, always responsive, the house is well appointed and it was such a beautiful place. Loved our time here! Phenomenal view!

What a special place tucked away in Punta Islita, yet still a part of the larger hotel/resort amenities. Exceeded expectations. Perfect for 2 families joining up for a vacation, who need a kitchen, laundry and pool yet can still figure out some adult private time. Loved the proximity to the beach, pool and bar there. It's a 10 min walk on a walkway covered by trees for most of it- needed in the dry/hot season. It was super helpful to be connected with site manager/concierge, he and Nancy both helped with questions. We did a bunch of activities (saw monkeys with a guide right outside and surfed) and got to relax. Very worth the bumpy ride out. Have your 4x4 and your all set.

While many other reviews mentioned it, I’ll have to note here again: the view is amazing. I enjoy taking so many photos through out our trip as the view is spectacular and it chnages quickly at different times, different weather. The weather has been kind to us so it only rained very hard mostly at night and few hours in the afternoon (mid June). Sitting out on the deck in the morning is peaceful and not too cold. All of the descriptions are accurate. The road coming here is rough but so is almost everywhere else in Monteverde. Definitely one of the best Airbnb places we’ve been.

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how clean, beautifully designed, and well-stocked the space was. The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful — they made sure we had everything we needed and even left a few personal touches that made us feel right at home. The location was ideal — close enough to everything we wanted to explore, yet peaceful and quiet at night. Whether we were relaxing on the patio, enjoying the local scenery, or cooking in the fully-equipped kitchen, every moment felt effortless and enjoyable. We’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnbs, and this one truly stands out. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to all our friends and family. Thank you for such a wonderful experience

Camille and her mom are wonderful hosts. The house was like a beautiful dream. It smelled so good every time I entered. The pool was always clean. I saw many animals. We didn't want to leave, but we would definitely come back again with my family to stay longer. The nature, the animals, the birds—I was truly happy there. I recommend that future guests be aware that if the directions don't lead you past Flamingo Beach, you might be on the wrong path. It's better to take the longer route to be sure.

We had such an amazing stay at Richard’s home! It has everything you need for your stay and the most beautiful beach view. Richard and Maria were  wonderful hosts, they were so helpful and kind. The home was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location is very peaceful and close to so many great restaurants. We especially liked Rocamar, which is conveniently right next door. Our stay could not have been any better and we did not want to leave! I would highly recommend Richard’s place, and hope to visit again someday!

This home had beautiful views, a wonderful staff, and was a superb find for our family’s Christmas vacation. Santa Teresa is amazing and we had some of the best food on vacation ever! Our host , Brano was very responsive and our local helpers were amazing. There is a housekeeping staff on site, but they respect your privacy and keep watch over the property. They brought us extra towels when needed and were overall extremely respectful and helpful. For those traveling to this location, I strongly recommend either a car or ATVs as the home is located up a steep driveway. It is walkable (and there are 150 stairs to use instead) but to do this on a daily basis, you would have to be pretty fit and young. In addition, there are stairs from the driveway to get down to the house and these would not be appropriate for anyone with balance or stability issues. They were fine for us at 50 years old, but should be a consideration for anyone with walking or stability issues. We had a great time!

Wow! What an amazing place! Right on an empty beach and the cutest house! We had a great stay here and are already dreaming of coming back especially when a pool is added!

We had the most incredible time at this gorgeous spot. Daniella was wonderful to deal with, so easy to get a hold of, attentive and great to chat with. Always had excellent suggestions and recommendations, she made our stay feel so easy and she was so accommodating. The house is very well thought out, spacious beyond what the photos show and the most amazing backyard filled with howler monkeys throughout the trees that greet you in the mornings and afternoons. Had absolutely everything you could think of needing for a relaxing adults trip. A 5 minute drive to the beach town of Samara, which was wonderful to adventure around, so many great beach bars and open market style restaurants with fantastic food! Heritage Bar was a favourite with some of the best burgers and Indian food I’ve ever had! Only 10 minutes to playa carillo. I wish we had booked this spot for longer!

We really enjoyed our stay at Clara’s place. The location was excellent - it felt very private, nestled in the jungle, but also a short drive to the main strip and beaches. Despite the bathroom being open air, we saw almost no bugs and none in the downstairs unit (a big positive for my fearful girlfriend). The place itself was charming and tastefully designed. Clara was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We would happily stay here again!

Pictures do not do justice to the view from this property ! Host was amazing , recommend renting ATVs , host arranged for them to be delivered for us, we loved riding them into town , to the beaches and visited Montezuma and the tide pools. We look forward to renting this property again on our next visit to the area !
