A 6km walk around the lake, or if you are feeling adventurous, a 3 hour hike up Mount Benson and its amazing views are nearby. Only three km to downtown, & float planes to Vancouver. Walking distance to VIU, Aquatic Center, and Nanaimo Ice Center. We are centrally located but offer a quiet remote getaway.

Or you can sit in the garden at the door, breathe the soft sea breeze, and listen to the sound of birds.

Your room has a covered entry and is accessed by 4 outside steps. You will have your own private washroom with a tub and shower, outdoor seating space, and free parking. Owners live upstairs. Washer/dryer available for longer stays. No pets.

Clean, cozy and comfortable basement suite with private entrance/self check-in. A 5 minute drive from the Departure Bay ferry terminal. TV w/cable in the lounge, laundry and food prep area including microwave, toaster oven, induction hotplate, rice cooker and mini fridge. Tea/coffee, a few simple breakfast items provided. Traveling with more than 2? A second bedroom in the suite with a double bed will be made available for an extra fee. Approved pets are welcome too!

Old City Quarter Miners Cottage

Private small one bedroom miners cottage in quite downtown neighborhood. Close to many amenities, VIU & hospital. Easy walk to the seawall, shopping and many restaurants. The cottage is set in a lovely garden with seating under the gazeboor under the grape arbor. Both hosts John and Marc are artists and have a small show room on the property that we a happy to open if our guests have a desire to see more of our art. Sorry we are unable to accept same day guests.
