House holiday rentals in Murray River

What a beautiful little slice of the yarra valley. The heating was very efficient, it was icy overnight and we had no idea. We woke to kangaroos outside the window each morning. The caretakers lodge was much closer to the accommodation than I expected, however they were very helpful and friendly and I didn't see them apart from when I checked in. The house is stunning. The view from the huge windows is lovely. It felt very luxurious and was a lovely place to stay after getting married. I would absolutely recommend Kangaroo Manor to others, and I'd love the opportunity to stay there again one day. The hosts were very proactive, kind, and professional, and gave me the impression that I could contact them at any time. Thank you for a very memorable experience.

Welcome homely feel. Well appointed. Very responsive. Delicious, generous platter upon arrival plus heating and lights on. Much appreciated on a wet, cold winters night. We enjoyed our stay over the long weekend.

This is the second time I have stayed at David’s beautiful home. Can’t thank him enough he is very responsive and clear with instructions to get inside. Once you are inside it’s absolutely magical. Views are incredible and the house is just so perfect. Can not recommend this place enough and I can’t wait to go back again one day. 5 stars

We had a beautiful stay at Chelsie’s Airbnb. Our kids had a ball, the house is so family friendly. There was lots to do and walking distance to main town. We appreciate all Chelsie’s help and she offered us a flexible, late check out which was nice with kids. We will definitely be back! xx

This place is a hidden gem. It’s great for a retreat from the hustling and bustling life, and transport you back into nature. It’s very secluded, but it is meant to be the way it is. A Stonehill retreat. If you are looking for something that is near town, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a tranquil, peaceful place, I would recommend it 200%! Jacqui was also extremely helpful in her travel directions, and took extra effort to provide us with some oil when we ran out. Thanks much!

Eric couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. Their starter kitchen breakfast was perfect and delicious. The house was spotlessly clean, and the bedding extremely comfortable. We’d flown over from Scotland, so comfort was important. I would highly recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay at Maree’s place! It was a cute and cozy house—perfect for a peaceful bush getaway. The property was very quiet, and we loved the surprise of seeing kangaroos roaming around each day. It’s only about 20 minutes from Bendigo CBD, which made for an easy day trip. Beautiful spot to get away from the city and decompress. Loved relaxing in front of the fire and taking a walk through through walnut trees down to the river. The perfect winter getaway for us :)

Absolutely incredible stay! This property is truly something special—every little detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the stylish decor to the well-stocked amenities. It felt like a true escape, a world away from the everyday hustle even though we were only 3.5 hrs from Melbourne. Wish we had stayed an extra night The setting was peaceful and private, and the home itself was absolutely beautiful. We left feeling completely refreshed and hope to return next year. Katrina was very responsive to messages and the perfect host. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Cedar Rise Farm - "Hanging Rock House" Thank you to Mary for for the opportunity to stay in your lovely property. We were so warm and comfortable and all wished we had been able to stay longer. It is fabulously appointed and perfect to relax in. Everything you could possibly wish for in terms of amenities was available for our use and the open fire completed the ambience. Excellent communication ensured our total relaxation right from making the booking.

Christine and Mark were friendly, very responsive and informative, and made the booking arrangements very easy. The moment we arrived at their beautiful Bellflower Cottage, we knew we had made the right choice. Such a warm inviting home, with everything you needed and things you didn't even know you needed, but will now be looking for in future properties! Luxurious bedding, beautiful furnishings, books, games, amazing breakfast provisions, great information booklet, we went to two of the recommended restaurants, which were amazing!. A beautiful kitchen with very tasetful crockery, cutlery etc. Wonderful bathroom provisions and great laundry. Lovely areas to relax in, both inside and outside of the home. Such a peaceful area, lots of bird life and one very cheeky possum, to sit and watch in the backyard or from the dining area. Would love to stay again, when back in the area. Beautifully presented home. Cosy and well appointed space inside and out. The large outdoor entertaining area with slow combustion heater and spa was fantastic even in winter. The location of the home and the views of the river are spectacular. We were fortunate to see The Murray Princess paddle boat pass by twice. A truly relaxing weekend away and look forward to returning again.

We were blown away by the view and setting of this property. Not only is the house a beautiful piece of architecture, it is stylishly decked out, generous in size, super comfy and an easy walk into town. It has a great kitchen, comfortable beds, under floor heating, loads of light and an open fire - happy days!!!! The garden is massive and beautifully landscaped with amazing outdoor entertaining spaces. Evening drinks by the fire pit, watching the most incredible sunsets, was an absolute highlight for us. We didn’t want to leave.

We had a great stay. Clean, spacious, easy to use kitchen, wonderful hot water system, VERY comfortable bed, easy walk to shops and eateries. TV a good size and despite no WIFI we could access our Netflix account. Automated front gate Leigh communicated about prior, so all organised on arrival. Wonderful to have jetty at rear for boat mooring. Leigh was an easy host to communicate with. Would highly recommend. We were a couple, but two couples or a family would fit comfortably in this house. NB Stairs to climb.

Absolutely magnificent stay. Teulu House is basically a holiday on its own, though Metung is lovely and Nungurner Jetty (so close) is gorgeous. But really, who needs to leave the house when it's this nice? Full on Kevin McCloud eat-your-heart-out stunner of a house, everything's so well thought out and beautifully done. Even the floorboards are satisfying. The bathtub alone is worth a visit, but the living room, courtyard and back patio with views of the lake are just magnificent. Waking up to the sunrise over the water in the morning and watching the black swans on the lake (binoculars provided!) were just perks in all that lushness. Every little detail is thought of, from fluffy bathrobes to fab local soaps and shampoo (I stopped on the way home to buy some) to a well-stocked herb shelf (the kitchen is great, an absolute treat to cook in). Love that it's low energy use too, didn't even bother with the heater and it was five degrees outside! Will definitely be coming back!
