Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Munster

We loved staying at Ocean Crest - the property was beautiful! Ocean and sunset views from the living area. A short and picturesque walk to the village, but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful even during the busy Folk Festival. It was a serene retreat and we would love to come back someday!

We’ve had a fantastic stay at Black Lodge. Fiona is a wonderful host, the house was immaculate and has beautiful views, a great base to explore Kinsale and Cork. We felt very lucky being able to walk down to the beach and we spotted lots of different birds on the way. The park and bakery in Ballinspittle were so handy. The girls loved playing fetch with D-for! We recommend the drive to Blarney Castle, the Scilly walk to Charles Fort in Kinsale and a visit to Dock Beach. We’ve lots of happy memories to take home with us.

We originally booked this listing in May of 2020, but sadly were not able to make the trip due to Covid. 5 years later we finally got to stay int he lighthouse and it was well worth the wait! It was truly a magical experience, with breathtaking views and so many special little details in the house to make it feel like home. We spent 10 days in Ireland and this was the highlight of our trip!

Our experience at Captain Lysley's Retreat was truly inspiring! Katrina & John were exceptional hosts! Making us feel welcomed and cared for from the moment we arrived. We had a birthday during our stay & they went out of their way to make it even more special. Words cannot express how touching their thoughtfulness was to us-They really do go “above and beyond” to ensure you enjoy your stay here. We were inspired by the Katrina's passion for color and design. The home itself is a work of art. 1831 restored Georgian Country House. It felt like stepping into the pages of House Beautiful & Georgian Houses of Ireland combined. The décor combines colorful, eclectic, and old-world character, creating a charming setting with just the right amount of modern touches. This is a spacious home with high ceilings, lots of interesting details, luxurious touches, Irish humor, and warm welcoming vibes left us sad to leave so soon. This is a rare hidden gem! Cant wait to return again & again!

What a great stay at a beautifully well appointed home. Plenty of space and lots nice touches to make you feel welcome. Siobhan was awesome and so friendly. Her communication was quick and timely. Highly recommend this place to stay.

Aimee puts such a nice personal touch on everything available at the boathouse. Not to mention the location is a beautiful private spot close enough to visit all the wonderful places Southern Ireland has to offer. Would absolutely stay here again and strongly recommend to all considering her place.

This was our second time staying at Brigit’s and this time we made sure the whole family came along with Jim our dog. The most beautiful and magical place that we all enjoyed so much. We will be back again!

Wij zijn voor de 2e keer in dit huis. De ligging is schitterend aan de oceaan. Het kiezelstrand is vlak bij en na een mooie wandeling van 15 minuten ben je in Castletownbere. De tuin is zeer ruim en je kunt Beare eiland zien en de vuurtoren.Het huis heeft een mooie serre en vanuit verschillende kamers zie je de oceaan. Je kunt mooie wandelingen maken in de omgeving en zaterdag is er vaak live music in de pub. Kortom weer een geslaagde vakantie!

We stayed at Scragg farm for our honeymoon and it was hands down the best thing we could have done! Not only is Andrew a wonderful host with a fountain of knowledge for everything near by (he gave amazing recommendations!) - but the cottage was also incredibly peaceful and picturesque. Not to mention how central it is; most of the places we wished to see were only an hour or so away. Haven't even been gone 24 hours and we're already talking about when we can take our next trip back!

We had a fabulous few days staying at The Stables. Breda and Joe have a lovely country property. We love the goodie left for us from Breda. Scones and bread both home made. The cottage is so well equipped with most things you’d need to get by but a Centra only a few minutes away has lots of options. The bed was so comfortable as were the pillows and the fluffiest feather doona. The cottage is heated but we felt we didn’t need heating on as it’s very warm inside anyway but great if it turns cold. A bonus is the washer and dryer, we’d not been able to wash for several day so felt like all home comforts were covered. We loved the kitchen and dining area, great for preparing our meals. Breda has a vegetable and herb garden which she was happy for us to use, I made good use of salad stuff and herb. We got to meet Joe who was brings the horses back into the sheds, we got to see an 8 day old foal, such a highlight for me coming from Australia’s beach scene. We highly this place Fiona

For adventurous travelers looking for an experience rather than merely a place to stay, this place and location has a lot to offer. After staying at chalets and places convenient for one night stops, it was fun to drive through Glengariff Nature Preserve through the winding roads up into the hilltop location surrounded by woods with openings looking out over the beautiful hilly terrain. Chopping wood to heat the small apartment heightened the feeling of living as one of the locals for a while. We appreciated Gesine’s helpful notes to get there and enjoyed chatting with her about life in this peaceful place. While day trips taking the ferry to Garnish Island or driving over Caha Pass to Killarney National Park were nice, we are glad we took advantage of the location and spent time away from tourist-filled areas to enjoy quiet, peaceful hikes along the nearby Riverwalk and through some of Pooleen Woods. This was a great addition to our first-time travel experience in Ireland!

Our stay at the pod was everything we hoped it would be as a family traveling with a 4-year-old. The pod was cute and comfortable. The location is wonderful for getting to Cliffs of Moher and Lahinch Beach. Restaurants were close by too and we did take out one of the two nights we stayed there so we could take advantage of the surroundings with the picnic table. From the picnic table, we saw horses, sheep and tractors from afar. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend as a unique way to experience the area!

Excellent logement, confortable et très fonctionnel. Bien situé sur le Ring of Kerry pour rayonner dans toute cette zone. Bonne communication réactive avec nos hôtes. Nous recommandons cet hébergement et aussi le restaurant The Point qui est à 10mn seulement, à hauteur du passage en ferry vers Valentia.

Mary was a true delight and the space was ideal for travellers. All the comforts of home and extremely comfortable. Highly recommend!

Wer eine einzigartig Unterkunft mit einer atemberaubenden Lage sucht ist hier genau richtig. Wir haben zwei wundervolle Tage hier verbracht. Gerard ist ein außergewöhnlich freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Absolute Herzensempfehlung.

Clean, cute, and cozy! This was an ideal spot for a great starting point into the Ring of Kerry. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Abbiamo trascorso una piacevole e tranquilla due giorni a casa di William & Joanne! Posto immerso nel verde con splendida vista sulla campagna circostante tra fiori, il canto degli uccelli e il piacevo belare delle tipiche pecore irlandesi! La casa è molto spaziosa e luminosa, fornita di ogni cosa si possa avere bisogno soprattutto in cucina! William è molto simpatico e alla mano, ci ha accolto la sera tardi come fossero le 8 del mattino: inossidabile spirito irlandese! Che dire di più?! Consigliatissimo!

An excellent stay! This was a great home base while visiting the Skelligs - a quiet spot but still an easy walk into Cahersiveen, and a short drive to Portmagee where most of the boats leave from. The space was very clean and just as described. The unit is downstairs from a larger home, but felt fully separate and I didn’t hear a peep from anyone else in the building. Having both laundry and the kitchen was convenient - both worked well and were nicely stocked. John was also quickly responsive to any questions. Overall, no complaints at all and highly recommend a stay here if in the area!

The location is perfect for a quiet getaway. Right next to a beach and away from everything. Sean popped down and said hello when we landed and was sound out. I will book in again if ever heading this direction

Staying with Carmel is OG Airbnb, where there is actually a local host not an off-site corporation who owns the property you’re staying in. Carmel was wonderful and so welcoming. I was traveling alone and I really appreciate when it feels like I could reach out to the host if I have trouble without being a bother. The place itself is spectacular. They also have an actually stocked kitchen with more than just salt and pepper, which is soooo grand because you don’t have to spend money on an entire bottle of oil or butter or jam for a couple of quick meals. I hope to go back one day!

A lovely apartment, perfectly clean & had everything. Brown bread was such a treat!! Sinead was a great host very responsive and helpful from booking to check out. We met the owner who is was so friendly, he even offered us a lift into the village!! We definitely want to return 🙂

Kieran was amazing on check in explained everything, apartment was spotless and the swimming pool was amazing had a great time if we gonna work around the place definitely would be first to try to book. Thanks for everything. Highly recommend

We loved our stay at the swallows nest! We travelled with 2 young children and based ourselves at Carol’s accommodation to do the Greenway and explore Dungarvan town. The location was ideal for us - it was a 10 minute drive outside Dungarvan in a beautiful, peaceful area. The accommodation was perfect for us - spotlessly clean and very welcoming with a gorgeous outdoor seating area and beautiful flowers. The interior of the property had everything we needed for a few day stay including a travel cot. Couldn’t fault it at all. Carol was very friendly. We didn’t need to have much interaction as everything was perfect but we knew how to find her if we needed anything. Lovely welcoming touches such as milk & juice in the fridge, cereal for the children etc. we would gladly stay again! Thank you for a lovely stay Carol!
