Mount Hope Heritage Home

Welcome to one of the oldest homes in Mount Hope. This house was built in 1910 as the home and office for the doctor that served the people living in "The little town with a big welcome". James and Lucy Wilkins purchased this home in 1940. James was the accountant for the New River Coal Company having moved to the area in 1920s. This home has been restored to its original appearance reflecting the styles of the Victorian / Art Nouveau eras. Come and step back in time in this unique home.

The Little Green Guest House

We picked the perfect location for exploring New River Gorge! We actually live here and LOVE it. Over the last 2 years, we completely rebuilt this Little Guest House from the ground up while exploring and putting together the local's ultimate guidebook of the area. Our goal was to make a cozy and cute cottage to highlight why we love WV so much. Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Our place is on a little dirt road with a beautiful view of the sun rising over the mountains and horses grazing in the field. Off the main road approximately 1/10 of a mile with no traffic in front of the house. Beautiful backyard with a fire pit and grill, also corn hole for outdoor fun. No nosy neighbors, but the sound of children playing nearby. Just minutes away from rafting, mountain climbing and new river gorge

2 Bedroom Historical Second Floor Apt

This is a very large second floor apartment located in one of the oldest buildings in Mt. Hope. The apartment has its original hard wood floors and large ceilings. The bedrooms both have king size beds that are extremely comfortable. There is a space off the master bedroom that can be used for work, reading or even enjoy a 2 person breakfast while looking at the town. Being so old there are still flaws to the apartment. I tried to maintain as much original features as possible.

Out in the country but close to everything. 2 miles off of I-77, 1 1/2 miles off of US 19. 20 minutes or less to NRG, Summit Bechtel Reserve & Burning Rock. 3 miles to Prosperity dirt track. Rafting, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing & rapelling are all near by. Skiing and tubing at Winterplace is 25 minutes via I 77 S. Plenty of parking for vehicles & trailers. We are seconds off of route 19 and 5 minutes from Ace Adventure Resort, the New River Gorge Bridge or the Boy Scout Welcome Center. There is a fire pit to enjoy in the evening. We are located 40 minutes from Winterplace Ski Resort with easy access to route 19 and I77.
