Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). Enjoy Takayama's history to the fullest in an excellent location. <Building and Hida master carpenters> Built 145 years ago by a master craftsman from Hida, this building has been revived here by modern craftsmen. This is an entire Japanese house in Shirakikumachi, a quiet residential area of Kanazawa! We opened in August 2025 as an inn where you can experience Japanese culture! The interior is designed to feel the Taisho period of Japan (1912-1926)!You can enjoy a room with antique lighting and furniture that matches the era. Outside the living room, there is a traditional garden that feels the four seasons, and the time to sit on the sofa and watch is exceptional!It is lit up at night and the sound of the water echoes quietly. There are 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, and up to 5 people can stay! Use the low bed or futon when sleeping!Please enjoy a Japanese lifestyle! The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, simple cookware, and dishes. As an amenity, we have shampoo, conditioner, body soap, towels, toothpaste, and slippers. There is air conditioning in the living room on the first floor and in the bedroom on the second floor! There is no washing machine, but "Shirakiku Laundry" is a 1-minute walk away! If you come by car, there is a paid coin parking lot in front of the building, so I can guide you! We await your visit!!

Kusa no Niwa is a traditional Japanese-style house with a courtyard and corridors that was built more than 130 years ago. The entire house with a size of 100 square meters will be lent privately to a single group with a maximum capacity of 6 persons. You will find a fusuma, a sliding door with a paper panel, painted by a famous Japanese Painter, which can be also found in the Taue’s House, an Important Cultural Property, located in Nyukawa Town.
