Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Morningside, Edinburgh

Great and clean house approximately 40 min. away from the city center. We were with the 4 of us and 2 of us had to sleep in the living room, but if you're not home that much that is not a problem at all. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet, and despite it not being close by any of the main tourist attractions of the city, the public transport to and from the city was relatively fast. The hosts were nice and easy to communicate with. Overall, a great place to stay! Would definitely recommend :)

Melissa’s flat has been put together with so much thought, it is stylish, cosy, and comfortable. It is perfectly located to be walkable for all the main sites in Edinburgh and has lots of nice restaurants, coffee shops, and bars nearby (and Melissa provided a guidebook to help find the best spots). Melissa was incredibly accommodating and even arranged an infant cot for us. Would absolutely stay again!

This place was a beautiful spacious retreat at the end of each busy day of exploring Edinburgh and its surrounds. We were 2 couples on a 4 week tour around Scotland.. Whilst a little way out from the city the Pay and Ride option just a few kilometers away made it easy to get to the city Centre. The pay off was a tranquil and idyllic country/farm setting. The place was spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and well equipped. We would thoroughly recommend to anyone planning to visit Edinburgh.. Thank you Christine ..

This is the best place to stay in Edinburgh. The design and facilities are perfect. I really enjoyed my stay in this house. The owner is really kind and friendly.

The location was perfect. It was in the less crowded west end area and less than a block to the bus stop (which we highly recommend figuring out the system so you can get around quicker). However, you can also walk to old town in 15-20 minutes time. There are many good restaurants and groceries within walking distance. The attached garage was an awesome perk since this was a stop for us in our long road trip.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft. Die Umgebung war einfach fantastisch – ruhige Straßen, viele geschäfte in der Nähe und zahlreiche Möglichkeiten, die Natur zu genießen. Wir haben die Nachbarschaft erkundet und fanden viele charmante Cafés und Restaurants. Die Unterkunft selbst war sehr komfortabel und gut ausgestattet. Alles war sauber und einladend, und es gab genügend Platz für uns, um uns zu entspannen. Ein großes Plus war die Möglichkeit, zu Fuß zur Bahnhaltestelle zu gelangen, was uns die Erkundung der Stadt erleichtert hat. Wir können diese Unterkunft jedem empfehlen, der einen angenehmen Aufenthalt sucht.

The Garden Cottage was everything we hoped for and more. The location was very convenient to Stockbridge and all of its restaurants and shops. There are numerous bus stops within 10-20 mins walk to grab a quick bus up the hill into New Town, across Princes Gardens into Old Town, or even for easy day trips like to Rosslyn Chapel or Portobello. Victoria was a very accommodating host and easy to work with. The cottage had plenty of space, was very well equipped for self-catering, and was stocked with all the basics you need (e.g., coffee, tea, sugar, etc.). Having a washer and dryer (as well as a drying rack) was a luxury we’ve rarely seen in the UK or Europe.

This, by far, is the best stay I have visited. Marie is the perfect host, communicated in an exceptional manner, and provided the loveliest place to centre our stay in Edinburgh. From check in to check out, I felt welcome, comfortable, and well situated. Buses were frequent to go anywhere we needed and the accommodation was a welcome resting place after a long day of exploring. I have stayed many places but Marie's provided both the necessities and little extras that made this a fondly remembered experience rather than just a place to lay my head. I recommend this to anyone who wishes to visit and will be recommending it to family and friends who wish to visit in the future.

My family and I really enjoyed staying in Dean’s flat. We were only there for one night, but the location was amazing. It was perfect and we wished we had more time to stay there. The view is absolutely stunning!!

ottima posizione per visitare Edimburgo, in un quartiere residenziale silenzioso e con tutte le necessità. A 10/15 Min di autobus dalla Old Town e dal centro città. Appartamento molto spazioso e con tutto l'occorrente per una vacanza. Glenn host molto disponibile e tempestivo nel rispondere a domande di ogni genere. Davvero consigliato!

Mike and Pauline were very responsible and we didn't have to wait for anything we needed. Nice historical home. very comfortable.

Der Aufenthalt in Fionas Air B‘n‘B hat uns sehr gefallen. Es ist eine moderne, saubere Unterkunft und Fiona war super nett. Die Umgebung war sehr schön, Bushaltestellen, Supermarkt und kleine Cafés waren fußläufig zu erreichen. Auch in das Zentrum von Edinburgh kommt man sehr schnell mit dem Bus. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt und sehr weiterzuempfehlen ☺️

We had a great stay and loved the cozy home-base in Edinburgh :) its a great walk (or run!) through the Meadows and Links to get to the city center and easily reachable by car or public transport. The home has all you need and whenever you need anything, Claire's quick and friendly to help!

Great place in Edinburgh! It is a little ways from the main downtown but that’s a good thing since the royal mile is way too crowded, loud and crazy. There are restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery store super close. The apartment is spacious, beautiful and comfortable!

Very responsive and helpful host. Super accommodation to a high standard. Very quiet with good access to places. Good local facilities - restaurants and local supermarket. Would definitely recommend. Hope to return.

Appartement très cosy dans un quartier très calme Pas loin de la ligne 23 menant au centre ville ( 25 mn de bus ) . Lars et Sigrid sont très réactifs et accomodants ( je ne les ai eu qu'en message malheureusement mais ils ont été très flexibles pour med heures d'arrivée et départ) . Je recommande vivement ! Allez y sans craintes !

Tolle Wohnung in einem schönen Wohngebiet ca. 20 Min von Edinburgh entfernt, Busstation auch nicht weit entfernt und relativ nahe Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die Wohnung von Jack ist für 3 Personen Super! Klare Empfehlung für jemanden der nicht direkt im Trubel der Großstadt unterkommen möchte

Hidden gem. Surprisingly quiet and peaceful, being situated in the middle of the park (yet still in town). Lovely home, spacious. Host is super responsive to questions. Easy walk to a pub for some great food and drinks.

We spent two nights at The Butler's Basement for my husband's birthday and it was an ideal base. We did have an issue getting in as the lockbox didn't work, but her son came down and resolved the issue. The apartment was very clean and in a great area - some lovely bars and restaurants that we preferred to spend time in, more than the busier side of Edinburgh. Gemma was very responsive to my messages and we also had a bottle of fizz in the fridge as well as some short bread and chocolate. It might be an idea to put a small bottle of milk in the fridge, as we did have tea and coffee provided but didn't want to buy a whole pint of milk to make a couple of drinks. However it certainly wasn't an issue that would stop us staying again!

Beautiful clean accommodation with everything you needed. Positive is that it was in lovely residential area, parking right outside and near to bus routes into the centre. Cannot fault it and would definitely go again when visiting Edinburgh.

Great location, convenient to bus transportation. Peaceful and quiet. Sue and Grant are very responsive, even helping us to secure some additional linens after our arrival. Perfect for our family stay in Edinburgh. We’d definitely stay here again!

Quirky place with loads of space and character. Very clean and well set up too. The arrangements for key collection were very convenient and Alec who let us in and showed us round could not have been nicer or more helpful. We felt we had had an experience, rather than just an overnight stay. The building itself is a real one-off and has the look of a fairytale castle. Would recommend highly.

We really loved our stay at Roy’s place! Roy and Selena were super nice and helpful. The apartment was very clean and bright and we loved the vinyl collection. It was right next to a bus stop that has frequent buses to the city centre.

The flat was beautiful, very well equipped and a perfect place to rest for our family. Lynn and Gerard were very responsive and attentive. We would book again without hesitation on our next trip to town.
