Gîte de l'Abbaye d'Etrun and its green park

The cottage is the oldest house in the village, it guarded the entrance to the Abbey of the Benedictines of Etrun. The Abbey was founded in 980 and destroyed during the revolution in 1789. The whole has been listed as a Historic Monument. In 1815 Cardinal De La TOUR d'AUVERGNE decided to build his "Summer Residence" of which the surrounding walls still exist, as well as some period elements. In 1915, General Pétain made it his headquarters and commanded the Battle of Artois from these places.

Chantal is welcoming you in her "gite " . On the ground floor a lovely living room with open kitchen and at the first floor 2 bedrooms , and a spare room with a double bed and a bathroom.

Perfect place for a couple or a family with two children, with breakfast included. The swimming pool is shared with the owners (unheated but about 27°C in season). You can swim under the dome. A pétanque court is available for your use. You'll be the only guests during your stay.
