Family-friendly holiday rentals in Montagu

we loved it. here you really get down to gear, we enjoyed the view and the surroundings. fantastic nature wherever you look. the hosts were super friendly and helpful. we stayed two nights but would definitely recommend more nights so that you can really get all the impressions.

Absolutely loved it. Earthy and private and loved every second, wanted to stay longer. Hot tub was amazing. Takes a while to heat up but is fun to test the temperature and still warm in the morning if u play it right. Pool is fantastic. Nothing to complain about.

What a beautiful place to stay. The cottage was tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you would need. A wonderful splash pool and an awesome hot tub as well. A little paradise! The toiletries were a lovely touch and all the extras provided. Communication with the host was excellent and she gave us lots of local tips and suggestions.

A beautifully peaceful spot to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks on the farm, and stargazing from the hot tub. The accommodation was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom was neat with a large shower.

Came here last year as I grew up in the hermitage and brought my Thai fiance and she just fell in love with the place. The animals, nature, mountains and friendly people. Love it here and came back longer this time and will be back every year.

We had a lovely stay in a beautiful spot. We had our two small dogs with us, so we couldn't enjoy the full hikes, but we enjoyed parts of the routes and did some birding. Our dogs also made fast friends with the sweetest resident dog, Annie, who visited often. The hosts were very responsive, and we enjoyed learning more about their farm and setup.

This place is made to calm down and relax. It‘s far out the city and around 1km from the host‘s farm. There is no electricity in the house but candles and lamps… and a very nice hot tube. Heleen, our super friendly host, prepared hot water when we arrived, gave us a lot of useful recommendations around this place and was helpful for everything we needed. There‘s almost no light pollution allowing a nice and clear sky full of stars! We would highly recommend this place and definitely come again! Thanks a lot!

Merveilleux endroit. Nous avons séjourné qu'une nuit mais on aurait aimé rester plus longtemps. La sérénité du lieu et la proximité avec la nature et les animaux est formidable. Nous avons très bien dormi. Cuisine fonctionnelle avec tout ce qu'il faut. Nous avons eu la chance de voir des springbok et des gnous au petit matin. Merci pour cette magnifique expérience !

This is already our fourth time staying in Rigby's beautiful house. It is wonderfully located on the golf course, offering a peaceful atmosphere. It's a great starting point for many activities. Rigby and Jean-André are always easily reachable. We are looking forward to our next visit!

We had a wonderful stay at Leatitia’s place. Leatitia welcomed us warmly and we felt extremely relaxed and comfortable during our stay. The location is top class…walking distance to all the beaches within the Voelklip area. Long lazy afternoons enjoying the garden and Braai area. The snooker table was a wonderful fun addition. Ein wunderschönes Haus! Wir verbrachten hier 3 Tage als Familie (5 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder) und wären gerne länger geblieben. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, die Küche perfekt mit allen möglichen Utensilien und auch mit Kaffee, Gewürzen etc. und der Pool mit Tüchern. Wir haben nichts vermisst und die Ruhe im wunderschönen Garten sehr genossen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

The Pines is a wonderful venue for a breakaway with a group of friends or family. The old farm-style homestead is in impeccable condition, with the trappings you expect from a much more modern house. Everything was spotless, from the bedroom linens and towels, to the well equipped kitchen, and the outside area. The weather was fantastic, so most time was spent in and around the pool, on the tennis court, and in the cool quiet of the house. Do: 1. spend an early morning with fresh coffee on the stoep, waiting for the sun to start painting the glorious mountains right in front of you; 2. make communal meals and eat under the ancient trees in the afternoon and at the huge dining room table in the evenings, where our stories mingled with those that had come before us; 3. bring your - well behaved - furry friends, they will get as much from the large expanse of lawn and, since the property is fully fenced, the can explore as much as they want to; and 4. braai next to the pool. Enjoy!

Vanessa’s house is hands down one of our best Airbnb experiences. The open plan kitchen and lounge area is wonderfully spacious. Great beds, linen & towels. An umbrella, beach towels, boogie boards & games to entertain kids. A kitchen with most things you’ll need for family dinners - even an air fryer & toastie maker. We’ll definitely be back.

Esther is a gracious host, very hospitable and helpful, and the apartment is very nicely situated, a short walk to the Cliff Path, beaches, and amenities. We felt comfortable and safe, and enjoyed all the conveniences, including a "braai" outside om the patio and a washing machine in the garage :-) Were we to return to Hermanus in the future, we would definitely like to stay there again!

The house is very comfortable and perfect for a relaxing family getaway. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The garden is secure with lovely lawns for the kids to play. Carin is very friendly and showed us around the farm. The setting is wonderfully peaceful and private. The kids loved all the animals!

We had a lovely weekend away at the farm... lovely views, nice fireplace, very comfy beds and a fully equiped kitchen. Can recommend this place!

Wonderful place to stay in the winelands, great amenities and cosy space.

The Sage Cottage was the perfect spot for the visit to the wineries with the wine trams just down the road, the supermarket and restaurants were very close by too. We easily walked to the Franschhoek village which was less than 5 minutes away. The cottage was perfect for 5 people and had lots of living space - it has a bedroom downstairs with an en-suite bathroom, a powder room, a huge master bedroom with an en-suite, and two double-bed bedrooms with a connecting en-suite. It was a lovely stay. ☺️

Beautiful place with great attention to details. Very well equipped kitchen, bathrooms and pool area.

We had a great stay and were warmly welcomed by Michael, who had already gotten the fire going for us on a cool evening – talk about service! He was super friendly and always ready with helpful tips and updates. The farm drive was a hit with the kids, and we also enjoyed a lovely hike. With Swellendam just five minutes down the road, it’s a great spot for mixing some countryside peace with other fun activities. All in all, a top-notch stay with great value – and a host who knows how to keep things cozy and guests happy!

Really beautiful place. Only wish we had more than one night there to really make the most of it. Loved the decor too. Just all really well done. And Issy was really helpful.

Wauw. Wat een plek. Wat een aandacht voor detail en schoonheid. Zeer goed geaccomodeerd, en voorzien voor stroomuitval (wat we niet gehad hebben). Praktische keuken voorzien van alle gemak. Mooi en bijzonder groot zwembad, die je deelt met de eigenaars, maar alles is erop intesteld om elkaars privacy te garanderen. Als je met een kind reist, wordt er een bed opgesteld in de woonruimte, wat misschien niet voor alle gasten even handig is, maar dit weegt absoluut niet op tegen alle voordelen van dit klein paradijsje. Helene is de perfecte gastvrouw die je ontvangt alsof je familie bent. Een van de mooiste plekken waar we gelogeerd hebben tijdens onze Zuid Afrika reis....

A beautiful, secluded spot in a valley. We were not able to enjoy the outdoors as much because of the weather, but felt very comfortable indoors with a roaring fire. Hildegard was kind enough to drop off more fire wood and fire lighters. She also kindly purchased a new braai grid for us due to our halal dietary requirements. She was a wonderful and responsive host.
