Family-friendly holiday rentals in Monção

We would like to thank Architect Paulo Gomes for the sympathy and attention with which we were received in his magnificent villa in Monção, through the Airbnb platform. It was truly well spent days, in a fantastic space where there was nothing missing. The villa has excellent conditions, which exceeded our expectations, providing unique moments of comfort and leisure. As a constructive suggestion, and with all due respect, we believe it could be even more enjoyable if hosts made us slightly more at ease, avoiding going around the house while our group was present. Anyway, this is just a light recommendation, as everything else was just fantastic. We reiterate our thanks and congratulate us on the wonderful villa and hospitality.

A truly memorable stay. The landscape was breathtaking — wildflowers, birdsong, horses, and morning mist over the valley created a dreamlike atmosphere. The spa facilities and infinity pool, set against stunning views, were especially restorative. The cabin is compact but surrounded by natural beauty. We loved waking to the sounds of birds and nearby waterfall — simply idyllic. There was occasional noise from grounds maintenance, but it didn’t detract too much from the overall impression. The host was communicative and flexible with our arrival time. Thoughtful touches like the welcome wine and chocolate cake made us feel right at home. Everything was smooth and easy, and we found some fantastic local restaurants. The surrounding area is full of charm, with quiet walks, friendly people, and views we’ll never forget. We spent our days exploring and simply soaking it all in. This place made us fall in love with Portugal — we’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you!

This is a stunning place secluded away from anything nearby. Great for a retreat to be restful, listen to nature and admire the beautiful horses. Cheila was an incredible host, super responsive to any questions or comments and gave us some beautiful lemons from her tree. The house is really well throughout and all amenities are included. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay. ❤️

Amazing Space! Perfect for a few days of rest, surrounded by nature. It's exactly like the pictures. It's really worth spending a few days here. And we couldn't ask for a better host, super available and cozy. We'll definitely come back!

A great place to relax, enjoy and simply spend a few perfect days! You feel at home. Clean, tidy, comfortable, beautiful garden for your enjoyment (having a drink outside at night with the lights around is fascinating). Perfect pool area. My group and I didn't want to, but if you want to use the jacuzzi, let us know in advance. There is a well-stocked supermarket just a few minutes' drive from the house. The owner is very friendly and attentive to what we need. Thank you!!

On the positive side, the place lived up to its description. Fatima was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience better. There were enough parking spaces for three cars. On the negative side, the hot water reservoir wasn't sufficient for ten people to take showers. As a result, some of us had to take cold showers every day. Additionally, the location is situated on narrow roads, making it challenging to reach by car.

Ideal place to relax and contemplate nature.

The house already looked beautiful in photos but being there it was even more spectacular, dreamy, the hosts were super attentive and we felt very cared for.

Perfect accommodation for 2 people. Sonia recommended us many places and would definitely stay in this apartment again.

Our 4-year-old daughter couldn't be dragged away from the pool, she loves it. And what a view, that's what waking up is all about. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again. Thanks

What a dream place this is!! We only stayed 2 nights, but would have loved to stay longer. The whole finca is beautifully cared for, the cottage tasteful and the sea view from the private roof terrace is amazing.

Amélia and Joa treated us as extended family who came to visit, making it an immersive European experience :) They were comfortable with us exploring the property, they shared their cistern pool with us, their son showed off for our daughter, they offered us fruit popsicles and herbs for tea - their openness added value to our experience beyond the lovely back patio for dining and cute doggy Amy who always greeted us.

Paul and Elisabete were very welcoming and responsive. The small apartment was perfect for the few days we spent at 2. The quinta is in an idyllic environment! Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay at Tue’s house. It is a great size with good bedrooms and plenty of living space. Ideal for our family of 7. The house is well equipped with plenty to do - swimming pool, bikes, pool table, large garden etc. The local area is very quiet with a good beach and some nice local walks. The weather wasn’t great while we were there, which was unfortunate and meant we couldn’t make full use of the pool etc. but it was great on the sunny days. It could perhaps be improved with some soft covers for the sun beds and maybe another sun umbrella. All in all though we had a great stay.

We were well received by Monica and her daughter who also gave us tips about the neighborhood. The accommodation is very clean and quiet. From the terrace, you have a fantastic view of the Rias. We really enjoyed it. Nearby is a small harbor with good restaurants. The location is centrally located to discover the Rias of Galicia. We highly recommend this accommodation!

Dear Ana, Thank you for a great vacation with you. You are very nice and helpful. The house is like a little oasis in the north of Portugal. Our experience has been perfect in every way and Carlos has been attentive at all times, helping us with our needs

We had a great time in Afife and enjoyed our stay at Joaos place. The location was very quiet (except the Honda shop across the street in the daytime) and Afife has not much to offer, which was okay for us but should be known in advance if you plan on eating outside. Porto is great to be reached by train and the beach is very close. With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms there’s enough space for a big group and everything was very comfortable. The pool was open already and was cleaned during our stay. The only thing which I would point out on the negative side is that when we arrived it smelled a bit mouldy, probably due to the rainy weather and the fact that 3 of the bathrooms don’t have windows. The staircase to the lower part of the house is very steep. That’s a fact you should know when travelling with small kids. Joao was perfect to contact and always responded quickly whenever there were any questions. Thanks for having us. We would totally recommend to stay at his place.

We rented this house for ten people and we had a fantastic weekend! The house was spotless and even nicer live than the pictures. The pool area is simply fantastic, apart from being very well thought out to enjoy it. The pool was super clean and well cared for, they also left us some pool towels in case we needed. The fantastic rooms and bathrooms, the kitchen great and super spacious....a ten of the truth. The common spaces are multiple and very spacious so we could all be together comfortably. Apart from the hostess was super friendly and flexible with us at all times, so thank you very much. Wonderful.
