Cottage holiday rentals in Mediterranean Sea

If I could move in here permanently, I would. What a gorgeous stay with responsive and respectful hosts. Everything was as described, the hot tub was glorious, and we loved looking through the binder of photos of painstaking restoration over the years.

We had a wonderful week in Gloria's house. Our four-legged friend also felt totally comfortable in nature. The house is small but nice and has everything you need. The property is a nice size and is perfect for eating outside, relaxing in the hot tub or just lying in the sun. The way to the house is a little challenging, but with a normal car and a little driving experience it can be mastered. Gloria was always available to us and gave us good excursion tips for the area in advance. Even with any inquiries, she always reacted very quickly and helped us. It's perfect for simply getting out and enjoying the nature and tranquility of Tuscany. We will be happy to come back!

Very nice house, peaceful place. The host was very kind, very proactive and had lots of recommendations. They took also very good care of us. They brought us some cake one evening, asked if we needed tomatoes or anything else. When we went home we got a nice present from them with products from the area.

Our stay was absolutely lovely! The space is exactly as pictured and advertised. We used the pools, games, and enjoyed private space. Although the property is connected to the family’s private home, you feel secluded and privacy while safe knowing you’re close to them as locals - they did an incredible job designing the space. This spot is the perfect location to explore Provence. Morgane had great recommendations and set us up for a wonderful trip. Cucuron and Ansouis are within 5 miles and perfect for food or pastries. The peacefulness, opportunity for adventure inside and outside the property, and Morgane’s attentiveness make this one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at. Would highly recommend this beautiful property!

Sonia's Airbnb is breathtaking. The view of Lake Como is even more beautiful than the photos in the listing. Sonia is a wonderful host - she provides recommendations, answered all of my questions and always made sure that we had everything we needed. I wished we had explored the lake with her on her sailboat so if you get the opportunity I would book it! The only thing I would advise future renters is that the road to Sonia's Airbnb in Brunate is VERY, VERY narrow and winds around and around. It is very easy to get lost and go down the wrong street. If you're renting car, try to get the smallest car possible - it will help you to maneuver the narrows roads. There is a funicular stop close to the house so you could walk there and take it to Como or to the top of Brunate. It is much easier to get off at the top of Brunate and walk downhill to the house. Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway.

The old oil mill has been restored with great attention to detail and you live in incredibly beautiful rooms. The accommodation far exceeded our expectations! We thought it was great that the contact with the landlords was very private and individual. We felt like we were part of the family, which made our stay special. The hosts are relaxed and accommodating, give great tips, help with problems and are very generous. The location is unique, the sunset from the pool or bedroom is breathtaking and the view of the sea is picturesque. The fishmonger arrives in the morning directly in front of the house - pure Italian flair! We would have liked to stay longer and would love to come back!

Our stay was short, but very nice - the very cozy accommodation with a breathtaking view, was a taste of sunrise with those landscapes. The apartment had everything necessary and the host, although we did not meet him personally because we did not coincide in schedules, he was very attentive from the 0 minute, informing of points of interest to visit and answering our doubts We recommend it and will definitely be happy to return. Need more time here!!! My regret is not booking another night here at this wonderful place! Check in was easy with the help of Mirjana’s dad, Shinisha. He made sure we knew everything we needed to know and was available if we needed him anytime… Mirjana made an excellent recommendation for lunch before we arrived and was delicious 😋 Mirjana’s place is perfectly located for peace and quiet and the views are spectacular. Make sure to bring your binoculars… The house was immaculate and very comfortable and we had everything we needed .. lots of different areas to sit and enjoy the view…a lot of time, effort and love has went into creating Falcons nest which was very appreciated by us…

Milos was a fantastic host, very friendly and welcoming, and flexible regarding the check-in and -out times. His brother even brought us to the location with his own car, since I don’t drive, which was really great. The Old Mill is such a gem, it’s very authentic and the views from the balcony are just breathtaking, especially at the sunset. The pool area and the garden are also a very unique and a beautiful addition to the whole experience. Having a car is advisable, but if you don’t drive (like myself) there are local drivers, which will bring you to wherever you wish for a reasonable price.

Staying at Caterina and Francesco’s home in Nicosia was one of the most special experiences of our trip to Sicily. The house itself was cozy, welcoming, and full of charm — but what truly made our stay unforgettable was the warmth and generosity of their family. One of the absolute highlights was being invited by Caterina’s and Francesco’s wonderful parents to learn how to cook a traditional Sicilian three-course dinner. Not only did they patiently teach us step-by-step, but we also got to share the meal together, creating memories we’ll treasure forever. It was an experience filled with kindness, laughter, and incredible food — truly a taste of real Sicilian hospitality. We felt like part of the family and left with full hearts (and full stomachs!). If you're looking for authentic culture, genuine connection, and a truly local experience, this is the place to be. Thank you, Caterina, Francesco, and family — we can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful time at Tom's! The house is lovingly furnished, super clean and totally cozy – especially the two fireplaces make it really cozy on cool days. The location is fantastically quiet with great views, which we enjoyed every day from the terrace. It was particularly nice that we could watch the animals from the terrace – cows, sheep, cats and many birds. Communication with Tom was great, uncomplicated and very friendly. Ideal for relaxing and hiking. We will be happy to come back!

We spent a wonderful 10 days in the cottage as a family. What a lovely and beautiful cottage. Not super big, but enough space for outdoor living, because you can do that fantastically well there. A wonderful swimming pool, outdoor shower (lovely in the early morning between the bird sounds showering) beds, hammock, chairs, cozy speakers outside for a background music, you name it. An excellent base for various cities, villages and beaches. Beautiful environment (due to a lot of sun, but dry). The only downside is the barking dogs nearby. They can't do anything, but you can hear them going off quite a bit from time to time. But good for the cottage and the area, you really don't have to leave it there. In the morning you will be awakened again by the singing birds, the peacocks nearby and occasionally the donkey further on. Delightful sounds! Highly recommended for a short, but also for a longer period! Thanks again for a wonderful holiday Michuel and Emilia!

It’s hard to put into words. Monteriggioni was the perfect place for my fiancé and I to go. I proposed there, we had the most amazing food there, and everyone was extremely friendly. The best part was coming back after a long day and eating at one of there restaurants or grabbing a panini and just sitting waiting for the sun to go down while staring out into Tuscany. We couldn’t have envisioned a more spectacular place and experience. Now I have everyone asking where I went and stayed and that they want to follow suit. It’s absolutely perfect and the buses are extremely easy to navigate. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay and with our hosts. This is going to be our forever Tuscan home. So grateful and pleased.

A small peaceful corner 200m from the tumult of San Giminiano, with a nice garden where we had all our meals with the smell of jasmine. We would definitely recommend it!

We loved our stay in this beach house by the sea. Allesandro had made it very comfortable and provided so many extra treats. It was so quiet, relaxing and calm with great restaurants nearby and many beautiful places to visit.

The cottage fit 6 of us comfortably! Roberto and Alessio were responsive and gave excellent suggestions for places to visit/eat. We were spoiled being on the doorstep of the nature preserve and visited a few times during our stay. Recommend without reservation.

What a wonderful place to escape to. A beautiful home, amazing views, wonderful pool and hot tub. Very clean and well cared for. Saavas was incredibly helpful and friendly & accommodating. Can’t fault it at all. In fact I feel very lucky to have found these four nights as it’s booked up way in advance normally. A tiny piece of paradise. Taverna was closed next door but that just made it more peaceful (maybe noisier if open but still private) - such an interesting time of year before the season started - watching all the Greeks get everything ready for the season! Pool was cold but the hot tub was amazing and warm so was a great balance. Easter was a lovely time to visit especially as very lucky with the weather. Did get eaten alive the first night so beware of mosquitos but we found the special plugs, & were more cautious after that. Maybe it was early season, maybe the recent rain. Loved the Swallows and house martins that flew over for a period morning and evening Perfect…

Amazing place, highly recommend!

We felt very comfortable in the accommodation. It is very clean and in the kitchen everything you can use is available. The terrace also invites you to relax. You can make great excursions from the accommodation to beaches and hikes in the mountains. Both by car and by bus, the places in the area are easily accessible.

Francesca and her kind family have created a once-in-a-lifetime, soul-grounding experience in this beautifully restored 14th-century hillside retreat in Portovenere. We loved every minute of our six-night stay. From the mind-blowing views and steep, invigorating hikes to romantic evenings sipping homemade, earthy concoctions thoughtfully left for us—it was pure magic. We were welcomed with fragrant bundles of fresh lemons, rosemary, sage, and thyme, a gesture that set the tone for the care and warmth we felt throughout. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making our rest as memorable as our adventures. We especially loved our daily rocky hike down to the charming village, and one day we even rented a dinghy to explore the surrounding islands—an unforgettable way to soak in the coastal beauty. This place is beyond gorgeous—truly a slice of heaven.

The place was peaceful and spotless. Clive is very kind and wonderful, made us feel welcome and at home, and gave us so many good recommendations. The view from the little terrace is beautiful - perfect spot to relax during any part of the day. The little house is cute, lovely and equipped with (literally) everything you may need.

The most wonderful stay ~ peaceful, wholesome & authentic. The house has been renovated to an incredible standard - it’s beautiful. We liked the remoteness of it & the booklet of recommendations was very helpful. The one minor negative was that the pool wasn’t that clean, but despite this, we would love to visit again.
