Monthly Rentals in Maungap

We spent close to a week at Ash's place on Aitutaki. Everything was spotless, especially considering how hard it is to keep things clean on an island with constant sea and erosion. Fans throughout the house allowed us to keep the windows open and enjoy the fresh air, except just a day or two when it's really hot, that's when the a/c was a life saver. The entire house is screened, no risk of any mosquitoes. Ash was very accommodating for us to check in a bit early; and was very communicative with our questions and made many great suggestions about local amenities. We loved Aitutaki. It's truly an earthly paradise, and when we return, we'd love to stay with Ash again.

Staying with Helen and Tef was more than just an Airbnb—it was a heartfelt, cultural experience. Helen welcomed us with warmth, gave us a personal island tour, and shared Aitutaki’s rich history and traditions. The home they built is very spacious, cyclone-proof, and thoughtfully designed to stay cool with fans and breezes through the large French style doors. Helen even handcrafted a flower crown for my wife and invited us to a beautiful dinner under the stars. When we asked about cultural shows, she personally called around to try to get us in. Her husband Tef, a kind and humble man , added to the warm and welcoming family-like atmosphere. Their hospitality was genuine and unforgettable. We left with full hearts and lasting memories of this beautiful place and its beautiful people in Aitutaki. This isn’t just a place to stay, it’s an opportunity to connect with the people, the history and spirit of Aitutaki. We feel incredibly grateful to have met Helen and Tef!

We had an amazing time staying at Pira's place and Aitutaki was the highlight of our trip. This is the type of place for those who aren't into the big resorts and would like to be in a peaceful and private location. Beautiful views out on to the lagoon, everything you need is provided. Pira organised picking us up and dropping off to the airport as well as a car for the duration of the trip (definitely recommend having your own transport to get around), and booked us on a lagoon cruise for the following day which is a must do! She also showed us around all the main spots we might want to check out and gave recommendations. Such a great host and really made us feel welcome. We would love to come back some day.

Eileen was a good host and we enjoyed our 3 nights in her villa. It was as described with everything we could have needed. Close to 2 good resorts if you want to eat out ...very few local restaurants open in the evening when we were there. Pomegranate bush and lime tree in the garden. Lovely terrace to sit out on. Would recommend 👍
