Beachfront holiday rental in Makry Gialos

Thank you for everything! We were able to enjoy our stay very much. The beach and a few restaurants as well as a small supermarket were within walking distance. The accommodation is beautifully furnished, especially on the balcony, we really enjoyed spending time. Everything very spacious with really good amenities - also in the kitchen! Gladly again ☺️

Very good accommodation, clean, practical and above all: facing the sea with a large balcony. Located a 10min walk from the center or 2min drive. A plus might be to add a washing machine in the studio but otherwise, nothing to say. Perfect stay.

Very private, no noise from neighbors. We hardly heard any noise from the traffic as the apartment is not directly on the road. We stayed for a week and spent much time on the incredible balcony: you can always find a space in the shade there. We loved the Galini beach nearby. only downside is that you have to walk for 200 meters along the road, as there is no footpath. There is a private beach closer by, but not everyone will be willing to climb down. It's doable for most people, but it is no walk in the park. If you like solitude, or if the Galini beach is too crowded, then certainly try to go the private beach. The WiFi in the apartment and on the balcony is good enough to stream video to one laptop. We had a tremendous time and certainly will come back some time in the future

We had a great time at Pinelopi's relaxing apartment by the beach! She gave us lots of great suggestions of places to visit and was very kinda and friendly. There are lots of great beaches nearby. We enjoyed meeting Toby the dog and having Sissi the cat hang out with us each morning. thank you again!

A really enjoyable stay at Platankia. It was extremely well equipped and had everything you would need and more, only thing that would help would a microwave - the kids really enjoyed the toys that were in the beach basket and kept them entertained without the need for a TV etc. Be warned wifi is a bit slow but great if you want to disconnect from the Internet for a while. Some really great restaurants, would recommend Vespas for Pizzas and Vitsalo is great for seafood. Everyone in town is extremely friendly and kind and Myrtos is always contactable if you have any other queries. We enjoyed being able to pick oranges and lemons and made enough lemonade to sink a battleship! I really enjoyed the hmock and the slide and swing is great for children. It is extremely private as you have large greenhouses on both sides but at the same time it is super easy to walk into town. Overall I would definitely recommend this place and would come back. The gorge is worth seeing and lots of other stuff

great place, perfect for a familh as well. A short walk to the beach and local taverns. A short drive to Agios Nicholas with great shopping and city walking.

We called this place "the mansion." The views are absolutely breathtaking and the accommodations pristine. The beautiful beach is across the street and the hotel nearby has an outside bar on that beach. We ended up renting a car because we could tell driving in Crete was easier than places like Mykonos and Athens. We ventured to a few places like Richtis Gorge and the downtown harbor; excellent shopping with some closed (no vehicles) streets. We wished we had more time here! Our host was very kind and also helpful in booking the car rental after our arrival. We highly recommend Villa Phi!! Thank you.

Marilou is very attentive to ensure impeccable service: many products provided, very regular maintenance, cleaning and linen change. We would highly recommend.

This villa and the host went above and beyond our expectations in all manners. It was the perfect home base for both exploring and relaxing. We’ll never forget the view or the sense of peace we had while staying here. Highly, highly recommend.

It was wonderful, the boys and I loved the fire and outdoor whirl, but also the beautiful rural setting and the starry night sky. Even homemade baked goods were brought to us. They were very lovely hosts. Thank you.

My family and I stayed in Jovica's penthouse for a week. We were divine. The apartment, very clean and thoughtfully furnished, offers all comforts. Check-in was very simple and Jovica provided us with all the information in a precise and timely manner. The accommodation is within walking distance of the sea, where you can stay in peace in the shade of pine trees or in the sun. But the thing that most remained in my heart is the immense perfectly furnished terrace where I spent the most beautiful moments of the vacation enjoying beautiful views. Thanks to Jovica for letting us enjoy all this.

Just returned from two weeks family-moon here I can not recommend this villa enough. It’s absolutely stunning, spotlessly clean, beautiful views and the sea, just WOW. The owners and the agent were simply amazing some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. They go above and beyond and if there is anything you need to discuss they’re there anytime to assist. We were made feel very welcome and the villa has everything you could need for your stay. Locally everything is walking distance easy to reach restaurants, bars and shops. Quick taxi ride to other places. You will not be disappointed with your stay here. Thank you again and we wish you all the very best for the future.

Great accommodation, right on the beach! We had perfect swimming weather at the end of October and the beach completely to ourselves! Sidonia is very remote, in the off-season there is still 1 tavern open, you have to be aware of that! Great for relaxing and simply enjoying the beach and sea.

Absolutely fantastic, five stars quite honestly isn’t enough for Menelaos and his beautiful penthouse villa. The villa is perfectly located….it really couldn’t be closer to the sea, with unique views of Mochlos, the island and the coasts to the east and west. It’s equipped with everything you could possibly need for a long or short stay, and the balcony is just perfect….the hardest thing was to drag ourselves away from it! Most importantly Menelaos is an absolutely perfect host, we’ve never had a welcome like it and we immediately felt at home, Menelaos is a true gentleman. We’re lucky to spend quite a bit of time in Crete and will definitely return to Menelaos Penthouse Villa….in fact I’m already planning our next visit!

A truly fantastic place to stay. Exceptionally well stocked apartment with absolutely everything you would need for a long or short stay. Close to lots of restaurants, but well stocked kitchen if you prefer to cook. Beautiful terrace for dining, both undercover and outside. Host Viky is charming and friendly and could not be more helpful. We hope to return another time.

When you are 20 steps from the waterfront and a choice of loveley taverna's, there is not much more you could whish for. Oded's place is lovely and we loved sitting in front of it and watch the world go by.

Cristina's apartment is really great. It's just above their supermarket. A staircase leads directly down to the harbor and beach. Bars, restaurants etc. are very close. The apartment upstairs is not accessible, but feasible even if you are not good on foot. The amenities inside are also great. The terrace is a highlight. There is also a parking space directly on the property. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay! The apartment is located just on top of the Taverna and about 15 meters from the beach. Within 5 minutes walk there is also a yoga location offering amazing drop in classes. From the moment we drove into the town we were warmly greeted by the lambros family. We spent the next 5 days at the beach and taverna relaxing. It was a great experience and we truly felt part of the local community for the short period we stayed. I highly recommend it if you want to relax and do less rather than more! The apartment is spacious and provides all you need for your stay, including a washing machine. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of space to chill.

This was our favourite stay of the trip. The place is idyllic, with a private swimming area only a few steps away. The house is decorated tastefully and gives a really nice indoor-outdoor feeling with the large patio and sliding doors. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked with everything you might need to cook, including well-sharpened knives! Manolis brought us some fresh vegetables from the farm, which were delicious. Everything about the place is thoughtful and we loved our stay there. It is ideal for a trip where you want to spend a lot of time relaxing at the house and hanging out, it is so nice we barely wanted to leave!

Nice view from the terrace, with a lot of shade from the trees. The private beach is just incredible. Perfect spot to go for daytrips to discover east Crete. A car is needed as you are up on the hill – as it is called Ferma Hill Apartments and walking up and down to Ferma by foot can be quite dangerous at night. During windy days, Achlia beach is recommended, five- minutes-drive and suddenly all you feel is just a tiny breeze. Anna is always helpful, thank you very much! Make sure to visit Takis animal shelter in Ierapetra while you are staying there! Appointments need to be booked in advance on his website, most amazing animal lover and person!
