Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Makaha Valley

We had a wonderful stay in Haleiwa in June 2025. The beach front property is beautiful and is actually larger inside than the photos show. I was worried our pack n play crib wouldn’t fit in the room with the bed but there was enough room. Everything in the house is nicely redone and the beach chairs, surfboards, and kayaks are a nice addition. It is about a 20 minute walk to Haleiwa bowls and coffee in town. Overall, it was the perfect one bedroom for our stay on the north shore.

Stayed here with my dad for a short hunting trip. It was a wonderful & peaceful little spot. Jon’s place was homey and nice and clean, and just a close walk to the beach if we wanted to take a dip. The place had almost everything we needed in the kitchen to cook. (Only thing missing was a toaster - unless I’m blind & missed it - but we were able to make it work with a pan on the stove). It was nice to sleep with the doors open & screens shut. The wind blowing at night was peaceful and we were even able to hear some of the deer call to each other in the distance at night time. It was a bit confusing trying to figure out the ceiling fans and lights connected to the ceilings but we eventually figured it out and everything was great! Thanks jon for sharing your home with us! If we ever come back to Molokai, I’ll definitely stay here again! ☺️

We had the best time here. So close to Waimea Bay which became our fav beach, it was less than a 10 min walk! Absolutely wonderful place to stay, also very kind and helpful host!

Great location with incredible scenery. It's a very quiet and private area. I would recommend staying here if you're looking to be away from the busyness of the city.

We loved this place! It was definitely one of the more reasonable cost rentals in the Lanikai neighborhood but it didn’t disappoint. A few things of note: - the appliances are high end KitchenAide and Bosch. The cooktop is a two burner induction that you can put away when not in use. Toaster oven as well. Compact dishwasher and fridge is a one drawer fridge/ one drawer freezer that fits under counter - ample beach towels. Also beach chairs and umbrellas. - the pool was wonderful - less than 10 min walk to Lanikai Beach - do the pillbox hike up the ridge behind you if you want a good workout! We loved our week here. Always planned to cook out on the Weber grill but didn’t end up doing so. The patio was awesome at the end of each day and for morning coffee. Neighborhood was safe. Met the pest control guy and the pool guy while we were here- both really friendly. Would definitely choose this place again.

We had a great stay in Kailua! The house is very comfortable, and it’s only a couple minutes walk to the Kalamas beach access. When not at the beach (with the chairs, towels, boogie boards, and toys provided) or eating Island Snow, the kids loved playing in the yard and the play room, and watching movies in the living room. We ended up staying mostly in Kailua and Lanikai for beaches, shopping, and restaurants, with one morning at the botanical gardens in Kaneohe and one at Haunama Bay, and an afternoon at Bishop Museum after check-out. We’d love to stay here again, in this well-appointed and clean house with hosts who responded to our questions and provided clear guidance on the check-in and check-out process.

Brooke’s place was perfect for my partner and I plus daughter and niece. We were able to cook in the kitchen with sharp knives other good kitchen amenities but also appreciated that there were plenty of dining out options very close by. Kailua and adjacent beaches are clean, friendly and beautiful! It felt safe for the teenagers to spend hours on their own. All around great experience with Brooke being very easy to reach and helpful with recommendations for hikes, shops and restaurants.

Loved Lindsay’s little cozy spot near the beach! It was great for my family of 5!(all young kids I should say) walking distance to some amazing food trucks and beach views! We will definitely stay there again over a busy hotel :) Very responsive and timely ! Clean! Stocked with everything we needed! And the WiFi was faster than our previous hotels which my working husband was thankful for!

Great stay and we would’ve booked for a longer trip for this Airbnb but our family provided for the rest of our stay. My partner and I enjoyed all the amenities especially since we had our baby with us. Besides the beautiful view and the thought out room design. It really made a difference with everything provided from the kitchen, parking, even the amenities for the beach. Jayden and his team were very responsive. We had kindly asked to check in early which I was hoping for and felt so grateful to have been accommodated because traveling with a baby is literally the Olympics. I truly appreciate him and his team!! I definitely would recommend this airbnb to my friends, family, and to the person who is reading this review!!

We had a great stay. The place is cozy, has a great view and amenities and supplies. It is in great location, close enough to everything in waikiki but away enough to not deal with the busy and louder areas. Great host who was very informative, accomodating, detailed and gave alot of recommendations.

The view from the patio is unbelievable. It’s essentially a private beach. The place is small but perfect for a couple. Beach gear and snorkel equipment was right there and you can snorkel in the cove the condo overlooks. The condo is up north in a more local/ less touristy locale so not many restaurants immediately nearby but we were cooking at home in the very well equipped kitchen. We would definitely go back. The host was a gem also.

Peter's place was perfect for our 5 day stay. You are right on the beach with nothing between you and the ocean. You are on the 12th floor with beyond amazing views of the ocean, sunsets, boats, turtles and we even saw a moon rise the last morning. The beach is one of the most pristine beaches I have ever seen. The water is clear, the sand is thick with absolutely zero seaweed. The beach appeared to be about 1/4 -1/2 mile long which I loved to just walk. The sand was so thick that it was a workout to just walk. Even the wet sand was thick! The beach is quiet with just a handful of folks on it at any time. Be aware that the west side of Oahu is the "poorer" section of the island. There are homeless encampments on the public beaches. Since this is a private gated community with 24/7 security there are no issues with homeless folks. We had a car and did lots of sightseeing during the day on the North, South and East side of Oahu. I came for the beach and it did not disappoint.

I would recommend this place 100% to anyone visiting O’ahu! This was my husband and I’s first trip to Hawaii and the location was beyond perfect for us. We got to explore the north shore and the whole island at our own pace, stay in a laid back yet beautiful community, and walk to the Ritz Carlton for coffee every morning, explore the many trails connected to the property, and even found several more hidden beaches around. Close to many great food spots, we especially loved 7 brothers, the food trucks, and Ted’s Bakery. We reached out to Priscilla a hand full of times and she messaged back immediately answering all questions and giving us wonderful recommendations! The AC worked amazingly to cool the place down quickly when we came home each afternoon, the washer and dryer were awesome, and we utilized the beach chairs and towels every day!! This place went above and beyond my expectations and we are already talking about visiting again in the future!

My family just returned from a truly wonderful vacation at the Hawaiian Princess. Mary’s place was perfect - very clean, cozy, and quiet. My husband is a go-go-go type of guy who has a hard time sitting still, and he said that this is the most relaxed he’s ever been. It’s not located in a walkable neighborhood, but after spending all day playing in the soft sand of the beach, relaxing in the jacuzzi, and napping between beach time, we were all ready to sleep once the sun went down. We happened to have big waves the entire time we were there due to NW winds, which meant no swimming out into the water for us, but my young kids had fun watching body surfers as well as playing in the swash. Mary was always quick to respond, which made our stay that much more pleasant and easy. We would love to come back for another stay!

I had an amazing time. The view from the window was amazing as well. I never closed the drapes not even once. I made some really cool friends in the building as well and at some of the businesses nearby. People were friendly. This location is situated by several of the city’s bus routes making travel a breeze. This is the perfect location for 1 or 2 people to stay at!! Mahalo. I will stay again!!

We had a great time staying at this condo. Beautiful ocean view and plenty nice little food spots around.

This place was absolutely AMAZING! We came here for our honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was clean, cozy, and chill. It’s a great location close to the beach and decently close to town provided you have means to transportation. Sharon communicated accurately, sent all of the info we needed ahead of time, and was quick to respond when we needed her. Couldn’t recommend this place more! We’d love to try to come back someday.

A clean, quiet, and private space during our time in Hawaii! Would recommend to anyone staying in North Shore.

We had a great stay! The home was clean, comfortable, and had all the essentials we needed — fridge, microwave, washer/dryer, and a small AC unit that kept things cool. The host was very responsive and accommodating throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. Overall, a great experience and we’d definitely stay again!

Turtle Bay is so peaceful and beautiful! This condo was right next to pool which was great. The condo was charming and very clean.

Great place! Feels like you’re right at the resort. You’re the farthest condo from the beach but still not a long walk. Easy drive to any beach in the area. Amazing location for private and calm surroundings. Frances did a great job communicating with us and giving recommendations!

Amazing place! We stayed with our 8 month old. Joel was so helpful with coordinating anything we needed for her. The place was well equipped for a family. It was a beautiful and peaceful location. Bed and linens were so comfortable. Gorgeous interior. Joel answered all of our questions quickly and made for a stress free vacation. We hope to come back again!

The place is a beautiful and amazingly up-kept! When inside, view is truly what the pictures show. Truly a sense of peace the home brings to you, u wake up and rest up with a secure feeling. The place really had all amenities covered, I can't think back of anything needed. So Con of location, its not by your popular tourist locations but get a car rental, everything was about an 1hr to 1.30hr away even in heavy traffic. Also, it was tent city around near beaches, the location were air bb did have beach front was clear of tents about 1 mi. to both sides of it. im sure u can relate to your city, conclusion is this is our country problem Yes, I would stay here again! 100% would recommend too anyone that loves a lot of home time and just a sense of peace! the place has a security guard at night, the pool area is clean and has a walk into the beach, easy access. Met some neighbors and all were friendly. Theirs restaurants, grocery, and convenient store near by. The place was Amazing!!!

PJ has been extremely responsive and helpful during my stay at Hawaii. The Airbnb offers a lot of amenities and it is close to a couple of beaches nearby, Waikīkī being one of them. The Airbnb is extremely clean. In the Airbnb itself, PJ was kind enough to include beach chairs, beach bag, beach mat, and many more. I definitely recommend the stay here!
