Waterfront holiday rentals in Mad River

What a lovely place! Carlene was gracious and warm, and answered all our questions. And the apartment is lovely and very comfortable. And the view out the wall of windows looks over Lake Champlain, offering superb views and still preserving privacy. The yard is large and immaculately maintained, and the nearby causeway offers a trail to bicycle and walk with the lake on either side. I would definitely come back here again. Note that the drive to downtown Burlington is lengthier than I anticipated--about 40 minutes, depending on time of day. However, the seclusion of this home by the lake is what made it so worthwhile.

Ideal, beautiful location for visiting Middlebury and this gorgeous region of Vermont. The setting by the river is stunning and soothing. The unit is very comfortable and has everything you need. The host is gracious and welcoming. We feel so fortunate to have found this lovely location!

Loved staying with Sandra and Jason! They are great hosts and did a great job on the Airbnb. We knew there were going to be mosquitoes, but we didn’t know that there were going to be so many, I would advise bringing bug spray. They let us use their kayaks which was an awesome experience. 10/10 would stay again.

We stayed for a month and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Looked just like the pics (even better actually) and was squeaky clean! June was super responsive and very friendly / knowledgeable about where to go. SO MUCH to do in the area! Her place is walkable to just about everywhere nearby - safe and super quiet. Bed was super comfy and shower was awesome! Kitchen had everything we needed and the washer dryer unit is a powerhouse. The back yard views of the lake are to die for! We brought our bikes and rode the trails all over. Do the causeway if you have bikes (or rent them). June’s guide is chock full of amazing suggestions and she responds quickly with questions. LOVED OUR STAY! Thanks June!!

A fantastic stay with everything we needed! Cozy, quaint, and located right by an amazing river. One of my favorite feautures of this place was being able to hear the water from the rental! We enjoyed our vacation visiting the beauty of Vermont's landscape, while also spending some time in Burlinton

Wonderful peaceful spot! Flowing River in the back of the house and beautiful lake and mountains in the front across the street. Kayaks & paddleboat available but unfortunately I wasn’t able to use them this time but I will be back! Thanks Doc!

Cheri was an amazing host! She has created a spot that feels both like home and a luxury hotel accommodation. The rental is tucked away from the street, is quiet and private and feels relaxed despite being polished and pristine. Cheri was quick on communication on the Airbnb platform and also popped in to make recommendations and to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed shortly after check-in. The space was perfect for the 2 of us, and we felt right at home. The kitchen is equipped with just the right amount - not too much, not too little. The lighting and fixtures in every room are thoughtfully chosen, and there are 2 heat pump/ AC units making the whole space comfortable. If you are going to Burlington, this is a perfect spot, a 10ish minute walk from church street marketplace. There are many restaurants and places to grab a cup of coffee or tea and a bite to close by. Also, a short walk from the water and a couple of parks. We're very happy with our stay!

Where do I start...from before I arrived, up until my departure...Joanne was attentive in every way possible. All my questions were answered with an immediate response. The home was extraordinary. The effort Joanne has put in to making it just like home shows. With an abundance of whimsical touches. Up until the day I left, I would see a new thing. As if the enchanting home wasn't enough, the back patio is a place of serenity...with the sounds and view of the river extraordinary. I could go on and on, but I will just say, "it was the best vacation I have ever had". One word describes this Airbnb...AMAZING!!!🩷. I will return next year! Spent the weekend here with my girlfriend and we both loved it! The house was very nice and the views were amazing. We like to cook and the kitchen was perfect for us and fully stocked with everything we needed. This place was perfect for a cozy weekend in Vermont. We enjoyed that we could travel into Burlington and that it wasn’t far away (about a 20 min drive). During our stay my girlfriend and I had made the decision to make a trip to Vermont each spring and to stay here in the years to come. Amazing place and perfect for couples! We look forward to next year!!

Thank you, Palmer for an enjoyable stay at your beautiful lake house. We came up for a college tour of UVM and the location was perfect. It took us only 20 minutes to get there and then at the end of our day we came back to relax and unwind at your comfy and spotless home. Every room was beautifully furnished , comfortable and really just felt homey. The kids enjoyed hanging out downstairs watching movies while the adults enjoyed cocktails and talking all while taking in the amazing view of the lake. We had a wonderful time and would certainly return. Only two minor issues, one of which just might have been our own unfamiliarity with the home. The living room gets really warm and even though we turned down the thermostat, it kept creeping up. But it could have even been the fact that it was so sunny one of the days we were there. A minor issue. Outside, the railing to get down from the deck to the yard is a bit wobbly in places and may be due to be replaced soon. Also, no big deal.

In a word: Wow! This is a dream home in just the perfect location. Whether you love Lake Dunmore, or are visiting for the first time, you will simply adore this lovely lakefront home. Beyond comfortable, immaculate, and oh-so charming. How wonderful to wake up and go for a swim or a paddle on the lake. Maureen is an exemplary host! We wish we could’ve stayed longer, and will definitely be back.

That was a peaceful vacation with my family. First and foremost, the house was spotless clean. There were plenty of toys for my six-year-old niece to enjoy. Kevin had a keen eye for detail, and we had everything guests needed for a comfortable stay. The lake was also a highlight of the trip. We went canoeing, and it was a truly enjoyable experience in that picturesque setting. I hope we can return soon.

The house was perfect for our needs. There are 8 single beds with several hang out spaces. the kitchen was well stocked and the place was clean and comfortable.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. What a beautiful house! You needed of nothing. The house was so nicely decorated, very clean and so comfortable. You felt right at home. Spacious and so peaceful falling asleep in the most comfortable beds listening to the river running by. Blake and Becca were so helpful and we enjoyed all their suggestions for restaurants and activities around Stowe. We definitely recommend their home and we cannot wait to come back. My husband and I stayed in National at 1854 House and we loved it! It was exactly as described, and Sarah was a terrific host. Everything was very clean, she was quick to respond, left detailed instructions about all the unit had to offer, and even gave us some local recommendations. The bed was comfortable, the view was great, and the swing in the living room was a wonderful extra touch. The location was perfect for exploring all of northern Vermont. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. We would absolutely stay in National again. Definitely recommend!

Spacious and well supplied, comfortable bed and relaxing back porch. Host’s were very accommodating and responsive. Walkable to town or short drive to attractions. Others have noted hearing occupants in the upstairs condo this was not an issue for us, we slept soundly. Would stay again if in the area.

Place is great, cozy. Lots to do around the area. Centered to town, lots of things to see, brewery, Champlain chocolates, lake and are in walkable distance.

My family loved our stay at the Stowe Nook, it’s the perfect location, close to everything in town and even the shuttle to the mountain. So convenient to have the grocery store right next-door. It’s a charming town and the townhouse is warm and cozy. My teens love having their own space downstairs. Josee is a lovely host and very easy to communicate with.

My family stayed here during my daughter's wedding and they found it very comfortable and clean. They loved sitting near the brook and also loved the pool with its great view!

Thank you for the stay! We came for a wedding and it was super convenient/close to the venue. The place looked just like the photos and was super clean, very cozy. Never stayed in a cabin style place before and it elevated our experience in VT. Would recommend and stay again!
