The space
Island sunshine slants onto outdoor sofas and across the bay, and art seems to leap from the walls at this comfortably sleek home near the southern coast of Paros. The ranch-style, partly staffed villa seems to stretch across the landscape, just as its views stretch across a gentle slope to the sparkle of the Aegean Sea. The clear waters and rock formations of Faragas Beach are 3 minutes away.
Start with coffee or juice in a sheltered inner courtyard, then shift to a daybed by the infinity pool and alfresco living areas in sun and shade. As the sun angles low over the neighboring island of Antiparos, sit down to an alfresco dinner, then spend the evening around the firepit or watching a movie in the outdoor cinema.
The crisp white walls of the classic Greek-island villa are here, but paired with 3-D art and concrete that mimics wood paneling in the living and dining rooms. Smooth, stone-like light fixtures bring the coastal landscape into the dining room, and carved wooden stools echo driftwood in the otherwise pared-down, fully equipped kitchen.
It’s a 3-minute drive to relatively shallow, clear waters and oceanfront bars along Faragas Beach, and less than 10 kilometers to 2 other beaches. Drive 5 minutes to the cedar-lined port of Aliki, a fishing village with plenty of tavernas to try and a folklore museum.
