The ocean peeks through curtains of palm fronds outside the louvered windows of this minimalist home on Barbados’ west coast. Inspired by the simple layout of the island’s traditional chattel houses, this contemporary villa uses wood-paneled ceilings to shade and slatted walls to invite cooling breezes. Follow the path to golden Gibbes Beach for a swim in the shallows or nap in the shade.
