The space

This remarkable medieval estate is home to one of our most historic Castle villas in Italy owned by the noble family descended from emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. You’ll find it nestled on 1,500 acres in the rolling hills of Umbria, the green heart of Italy. With a nature reserve and scenic lakes, this fairytale landscape is also home to several other castles.
This is a perfect property to host an event for a large group of people: large, diverse family reunions, group of friends, destination weddings, yoga retreats, foodies, or small corporate groups.
You’ll find plenty of outdoor seating areas, terraces with panoramic views of the landscape, a children’s playground, stone barbecue, billiards table, bocce ball court and a saltwater infinity pool. There’s even a church on site, making it especially ideal for a wedding celebration or a corporate meting, and the gardens filled with "David Austin" roses, fruit and olive trees would make a beautiful backdrop for photos.
The main house is an hillside 11th-century Castle encircling a courtyard, built by emperor Frederik the II of Swabia, with interiors that have been renovated and restored to the highest standard. The furnishings are stylish and refined, yet comfortable with cozy fireplaces and plush sofas and armchairs. In the fully equipped professional kitchen you’ll find stainless steel appliances and everything you will need for cooking for a crowd, or ask your Dedicated Concierge about cook services available at extra cost.
The Guest House is an 11th century watch Tower with attached palace that is just up the hill, 70 metres from the castle. In 2023 it has been fully renovated and restored to the highest standard and transformed in an eco-sustainable luxury vacation villa with 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and 1 guest bathroom. Available exclusively in combination with a rental of the Castle, the Tower villa can be added to your Castle rental for a total of up to 15 bedrooms (sleep 30), on Le Torri di Bagnara Estate.
These castle-homes can be booked as a Self- Catering or as a “Villa Hotel”: all the services of a grand-hotel are available on request.
Take some time exploring the nearby walking and biking trails; the surrounding woods are home to partridge, roe deer and wild boar. “Chianina” cattle, chicken and geese are reared on the scenic farmland surrounding the villa. The nearest village is a 5-minute drive away, where you’ll find restaurants and local shops, while an 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. is just 10 minutes away.
Perched midway between Florence and Rome, Torri di Bagnara is the ideal base for exploring central Italy.

Other things to note
Le Torri di Bagnara luxury Villas are not simple private houses rented to tourists but feature an official luxury accommodation license.
This guarantees a superior degree of safety and security standards that have to be complied with by law. This means that the whole property, the house and the pool are authorized by law to host paying guests and we are authorized to offer all kind of Staff services. All the systems (electricity, heating, hot water, air conditioned, kitchen, pool equipment,…) have to comply with legal standards and are subject to regular inspections and maintenance. A special broad Insurance (Civil Liability) is requested by Law to protect guests, staff, and property. All the staff working at Le Torri di Bagnara is legally employed and has to attend training courses imposed by law (health&safety, first aid, HACCP,…).
Eco-Sustainability is part of daily life here: energy comes from our 140 kWh PV Solary Energy systems, we harvest rain water to irrigate the fields and our pool is cleaned with sea salt; we use environmentally friendly cleaning products and practice daily a careful differentiated collection of waste. We serve seasonal, traditional, fresh food locally grown in our farm and in other selected Umbrian farms and we focus on local cuisine. We are constantly working to improve the property with renewable energies, recycling, water treatment, organic fertilizer, and sustainable agriculture.
Both the Pieve San Quirico castle (Main House), the Tower villa (Guest House), and the Estate’s Offices power plants are connected to the property’s 140 kWhPV Solar Energy Systems, effectively making the entire property powered by renewable sources self-produced by the Bagnara Estate itself. The property also features water softener system and Legionella prevention system.
