The space
Ban Makkala is a beachfront villa on the pristine southern shore of Koh Samui, near the famous temple of Laem Sor. With unobstructed, panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand, the villa offers an enchanting setting for experiencing the precious beauty of this renowned island. Resort-worthy features include an expansive infinity swimming pool, an exquisite sunken dining pavilion and a well-appointed home theater, while the villa's wonderful staff includes twice-daily housekeeping and a personal Thai chef. Ideal for multiple families or destination wedding guests, the villa features six king bedrooms including two primary suites.

The villa's pavilions are arrayed around the pool and inner courtyard garden, providing a sense of cloistered sanctuary on the edge of the vast ocean. The extraordinary, T-shaped pool runs along the villa and the shore, allowing you to bathe in its soothing waters while gazing on the shimmering sea. Embark in the villa's kayak onto the Gulf of Thailand or plunge into its crystalline water, and return to alfresco meals in the enchanting sala. Bask in the sunlight on elegant lounge chairs or savor a siesta in the beach-side hammock strung between palms.

A lovely stone path connects the sala with the main pavilion, where a cavernous great room on the upper floor opens to an expansive, ocean-facing balcony. This central living area offers an open-concept layout with a television salon, large dining table, and gourmet kitchen with wet bar—ideal for festive gatherings with family and friends.

Each bedroom offers a dreamy private haven for couples or individuals to enjoy downtime and rest, complete with king bed, entertainment system, air conditioning, and an ensuite bathroom with shower and tub. Doors to the terrace allow you to step from your bed in the morning for a refreshing plunge in the pool or sea.

Largely untrammeled by tourists, the southern coast of Koh Samui is ideal for travelers seeking an undiluted experience of Koh Samui's natural beauty and spiritual culture. A visit to the iconic Laem Sor Pagoda, just down the beach, offers an authentic view of local religious pedigree and practices. The villa is about 10 km from town and an easy drive to Royal Samui Golf Course, numerous world-class beaches, and family-friendly activities.
