The space
Perched on a hill in Nosara, Casa Colibri combines stunning views with activities for the whole family. From swimming and yoga to tennis and basketball, there’s plenty to do at this luxury four-bedroom Costa Rica vacation rental, all with panoramic vistas over the treetops and lush hillsides to the Pacific Ocean. The casa opens to covered outdoor sitting and dining areas ideal for both naps in the shade and meals with ocean views. Steps lead down to a terrace with a sunny sitting area, infinity pool with a children’s section and jetted tub with a surrounding bar covered in a charming palm-frond roof. A yoga platform with an exercise corner set between Casa Colibri and the neighboring villa lets you find your flow in the middle of the rainforest. For comfort and convenience, the villa is air-conditioned and has Wi-Fi access.
With beamed ceilings and wrought-iron chandeliers, Casa Colibri feels a bit like a piece of Tuscany in the tropics. Furnishings are relaxed and unpretentious, with plenty of inviting cushions and wicker texture, while floral prints and brightly colored artwork make for cheerful accents. The fully equipped eat-in kitchen has both practical items like a breakfast bar and perks like mountain views.
The villa’s four air-conditioned, suite-style bedrooms can easily welcome families traveling with children or a couple on a romantic getaway. There are three bedrooms with king beds, including a honeymoon-worthy master suite with a private terrace and al-fresco shower and a family suite with two daybeds. The fourth bedroom has two twin beds.
Though the views from Casa Colibri are incredible, the best way to explore the area is by car. From the villa, it’s a 15-minute drive to the nearest beach, Playa Pelada, and a 20-minute drive to the famous surf at Playa Guiones. With five more beaches within a 45-minute drive, you could stroll a new one almost every day of your stay. You’ll find cafes, a doctor and other amenities in Nosara, 10 minutes away, along with the nearest airport.
