The space
Make monkeys, sloths and toucans your closest neighbors at Casa Vista Paraiso. Nestled into the lush forest like a house in a fairy tale, this luxury Costa Rica vacation rental is the ultimate private retreat. But that doesn’t mean it’s isolated—it’s on the grounds of the Los Sueños Resort, so the fairways, beach club, marina and more are just a short golf-cart ride away from your haven.
This secluded villa opens to a spacious terrace with a sunny row of loungers, pool and hot tub, all with views of the jungle so you can listen to the birds call or spot colorful dragonflies and butterflies while relaxing. A covered outdoor kitchen has a sitting area where you can serve refreshments from the bar while waiting for the barbecue to heat up, and al-fresco dining for eight. For indoor entertaining, there’s a wine fridge, wet bar and sound system.
One of the most spectacular homes on the resort, Casa Vista Paraiso takes its inspiration—and many of its materials—from grand Italian estates. The nearly 9,000 square feet of custom-designed living space boast gorgeous marble floors, leather sofas, wrought-iron chandeliers and a comfortable mix of wood and wicker furniture. The living room, formal dining room and fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar wrap around the terrace and open to it through several sets of glass doors.
Each of the villa’s five bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom, making the property a wonderful alternative to a resort for a family or group of friends traveling together. There are four bedrooms with king beds, including two master suites with balconies, and one with two queen beds.
Your holiday includes access to the shared beach club, restaurants, bars and marina at Los Sueños Resort, as well as the golf course upon request. Nearby sights include Playa Herradura, where you can book a fishing expedition or surf lesson, and Playa Jaco, also home to great waves and plenty of scarlet macaws. Ask resort staff about activities like waterfall tours, ATV rides, ziplining and stand-up paddleboarding, which are popular with everyone from couples on honeymoon to families to retirees.
