“The best air b an b I’ve ever stayed in! The best touch was the white-bathrobe and slippers, or was it the surprise loft room with tv and tea and coffee making things, or was it being welcomed in with a glass of wine and interesting conversation!? What a treat it was to stay at Annette’s place! it’s like a 5 star hotel but with the homeliness and warmth of a family home. Highly recommended, Thank you!”
Spacious suite apartment, Amazingly located apartment in the quiet quarter of Temple Bar a few mins walk from Trinity College, Dublin Castle, City Hall, Grafton Street, St Patricks and Christchurch Cathedrals.
“Micheál is a wonderful host - warm, friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area in terms of tourism and history. Due to our travel arrangements, he kindly agreed to meet us earlier than the suggested check-in time which saved us from wandering around with our bags for ages! He took us to the flat and we chatted for a while, which helped us to feel settled and comfortable. The flat itself was sparkling clean, with towels, bed sheets and kitchen essentials like tea and coffee ready to go! The living space is very roomy, with a good quality speaker, which made for perfect mornings sat on the balcony with a fresh coffee whilst watching the morning start in the centre of temple bar. The bed is comfortable, which is needed after long days of walking and exploring the beautiful city. The apartment block itself is very safe and secure and warm. Travel to and from the flat is very easy, given the central location, and there are small bakeries and shops right on the doorstep. I would highly recommend Micheál and his flat to anyone looking for a city trip with a relaxing and comfortable flat to recharge in - absolutely brilliant and thank you so much! We will definitely be returning!”
Small, single, en suite room in family home, with it’s own entrance. Electric shower, desk and cooking facilities. Located just two minute walking distance to all village amenities and transport services to Dublin city centre.
“The accommodation is exactly as described, there is nothing surprising about it. It is in a very small village with basically everything necessary for a living as for example a Tesco and SPAR, a kiosk, Subway (about 5 min walking) and centra (10 min walking). There are some take always close by, too. The accommodation is very close to the bus station - Dublin bus 69 is leaving once an hour to the city centre and back. To use Dublin busses for a cheaper fare I would suggest to get a leap card - depending on your stay an adult or visitors card will do it. I would recommend to get a visitors card as you can use every kind of transportation unlimitedly. Get yourself the Dublin Bus App that will help you to get real time information about the bus‘ departure and arrival time. To get to Dublin City centre it will take you about an hour. Through high traffic it might take you even longer. I used the time to read and listen to podcasts so I did not mind. Joan is very helpful and replies always to your messages - she made me feel comfortable and is really lovely. She even picked me up halfway from the airport and offered to drive me back (Red Cow Station) there. Don’t be shy asking her about anything. Travelling alone, that was also a reason why I felt safe staying at her place. She lives attached but you don’t even notice anything. If you don’t have a deep sleep i would recommend getting earplugs. The motorway is very close and I needed to get used to it - after a while it did not bother me at all. You get used to it. I had perfect access to WiFi and never had a problem with that. You should probably get an extension cable with you, too. Depending on where you come from you might feel generally cold in Ireland, the room is on groundfloor so it is colder in winter times. Joan lend me duvets and even installed an additional heater as I was feeling cold. You just need to plug it in and out - so not a big deal. As I lived there for 1.5 month Joan also offered me to use her washing machine, cleaning the carpets and changed the blankets twice - I love her for that (Thanks Joan ❤️). All in all everything was very good and clean. And if you like to cook for yourself you will find the basic stuff. Greetings to Rathcoole!”
